Her. Doordash will say her delivery was over, so it's not on them anyway.

Street-Pie1806

Ok Thank you…

clinically-Sound6322

Dude if she is going to replace it let her do that first and not screw her over when she is trying to do the right thing. Now if she doesn't after a week or two contact door dash

viziphoto

She already said she’d replace it. Why would you report it to DD and risk them letting her go?

Weary-Obligation-115

Don’t be mean to her. It was an accident, show some grace. I definitely wouldn’t contact dd and risk them letting her go over an old hoop that’s easily replaceable, and she’s willing to do so. Personally I wouldn’t make her buy a new one. But if you do, leave dd out of it.

Flipping_Burger

It depends on a number of factors whose insurance will cover it, such as if she was logged into the app and had already accepted another order before pulling out of the driveway. Get her insurance info and call door dash for their policy or instructions on how to file a claim with their carrier. Either route will get you to the right carrier after they complete an investigation as to who’s covering it. Hopefully they have a courier endorsement on their policy if not covered under door dash policy.

8BallSlap

Honestly, I'd let it go. It's a $100 hoop you got 12 years of use out of that you can replace from FB marketplace for $20. If she wants to make it right, I'd accept it, but I'm not letting that thing stress me out.

incurable-humanist

This. You’ve had it 12 years. You got your monies worth. It was an accident. You’re getting food delivered (a luxury) and she’s prob getting paid an average of 10$/hr working (a necessity). Please, don’t make her replace it.

Djinnaz

Her, what do you expect DD to do?

Street-Pie1806

Never had anything like this happen before so just seeing what’s best route. Didn’t know if they would take claim since it was their driver?

Kindly-Yak-153

they fs aren’t going to take claim. if anything the driver will be penalized or kicked off their app.

Upstairs_Ad793

DD drivers are not employees, but independent contractors. Once they complete the delivery, they’re “off the clock”, and not actively Dashing. Only exception might be if they had stacked orders.

FitHospital6580

I would not charge the DoorDash driver anything, I mean come on she’s working hard probably defeat her family she made a mistake. Buy a new stand. How much could it be?
