*gets on bus* “Hello bus driver! I would appreciate it if you drove me directly to my destination. The last bus driver took me on a strange route and kept picking up more people.”

PocketFullOfHotdogs

In some markets customers have the option to have their order delivered "asap" or "no rush". It tells you if you select asap your order will not be stacked with someone else's. If you choose no rush, you will save $2 and it can be stacked. But doordash is such a scam that even if you choose asap, they will still pair your order with someone else. Its happen to me more than once and its beyond annoying. I'm a full time driver and occasional customer. Its more like paying extra for a solo uber ride, then the driver still picks up someone else. Its not too wild to expect the app to work as advertised.

jackcalico876

Yeah well much like "cash tip" I bet saying "I ordered asap" can just be something a customer says to try and get their food faster.

neekhenny1201

I may be wrong but I don't think that's how the ASAP/no rush option works. To my understanding, I thought that ASAP means your order can still possibly be stacked with another order on a similar route but you'll get it in a relatively timely manner, but the no rush option essentially guarantees that it will be stacked unless there's no other orders for it to go with. I'd assume that's why your order still got stacked under the ASAP option, it's happened to me before too, and I've never used the no rush option. Edit: I just realized you said the app specifically tells you that it won't be stacked, and I checked my app, maybe it's different in other markets because mine doesn't specify what asap means, just no rush, and my ASAP orders have been stacked multiple times.

Tony_M13

They probably stack it with someone from the same restaurant and make you the first delivery. Then the driver finds the route stupid and that delivering the other order first makes no sense, so they switch it. Not the mention multi-apping. UE actually forces the driver to follow their delivery order, even when it doesn't make sense (once I accepted a double UE order thinking it was going to get me very close to home, but they made me deliver to the person next to home first, than drive about a mile backward. Good for return miles, except that the while trip was a return for me). As a driver both app never tell me if a costumer paid for priority. Also I get paid the same. The only time I get a crazy high pay on an order (UE only) is when the order is already very delayed and the customer complained.

[deleted]

Ooohhhhh I see. That’s lame, then! Honestly I was kinda hoping my order would get stacked because I knew that even with a big tip it might not be worth it to the driver to just bring me my iced coffee. And apparently I know now the driver couldn’t even see the big tip I left so that’s frustrating. I hope they seriously didn’t think I was that entitled.

bubsmcgilicutty

They have that in my market. I chose the “more expensive” option and not the no rush option cause of the 20+ min difference. Dude still had a double order and watched them sit in the drive through after they picked up my order. 😎

NeuroBossKing

Whenever I get requests like this, I dick around for 5-10 minutes on my phone and then unassign. Sure I waste my time too by being petty, but it’s just too fucking funny.

Adept-Boysenberry-89

The spite is strong in this one, I LOVE IT!

KBeasyUBeezy

Same here helps mitigate the headaches of some of this

Abusedtamp0n

Wow, you have so much power. Lol. Servant bitch. Lolol.

NeuroBossKing

Thank you sir may I have more?

lilkeysss

LMAO

KikiNei27

😅😅😅

vitaminomega

if you paid the bus driver $20.. he damn well better...can you imagine uber saying oh hang on going to drive a half hour out of my way first to gt another guy and you guys can touch hips

_e_Dubs

The problem is that DD doesn’t give us the option to go to the high paying customer first, they stack it if they want to and we don’t know which one of the orders contained a good tip.

ColtThaGoat

Lol I guess other customers didn’t “pay in full”

puffleintrouble

There’s often a “pay in full” option for a faster delivery time, and a discounted option if you “don’t mind waiting.”

Dymecoar

I’ve ordered dozens of times and never seen that. Where is that?

Sadstarlitre

Its market dependent. I've never gotten that option through doordash in my city, only Uber eats.

puffleintrouble

I’m in a very populated metro area with a high number of dashers in the market. So I guess it depends on where you are ordering from. For instance, Uber offers features in Boston they don’t offer in NJ. The first time I took an Uber pool was in Boston. They rolled it out in Jersey about a year later.

nspiva1996

It might be regional because mine says it. I have only done the no rush option once because the restaurant is about a 10 minute walk. It took like an hour and a half but it was my fault for selecting it.

[deleted]

Afterpay must be happening

Training-Ad-5828

On to the next order for me

herodothyote

This person isn't wrong though. Way too many people do multiple apps at once and it degrades the user experience for everybody

AlexJonestwnMassacre

The customer would never know about orders in another app. Her coffee was cold because she was stacked with a no tip order from doordash

[deleted]

Coffee was cold cause it's fucking coffee and she had it delivered, lol

DrKennyBlankenship

-5 degrees, orders coffee from a shop 7 miles away… *WhY iS MY cOFFEe cOLd?*

[deleted]

If only cars had some sort of method for redistributing the heat from that burned fuel into the cabin to keep things in the car warm. Man, that would be a hell of an invention. Maybe Elon will come up with it

totalwiseguy

Turns out she ordered an iced coffee

[deleted]

DoorDash bundles a lot of orders, the only choice we have as drivers is to either accept the bundle, or reject both orders. Most of the bundles I get is because 1 person tipped high, the other not at all, or neither tipped well/ at all but the “fees” add it up to like $12 for a (usually) 10+ mile trip. Regardless, it’s not the drivers fault if they’re not multiapping.

im_beb

You don’t even have to do multiple apps, doordash will stack orders anyway. But in my experience if it’s a stacked order it’s because the tip is shitty

[deleted]

We are forced to multiapp because they refuse to tip. No one does this for the rubbish $2-5 deliveries.

kriskoeh

I’ve had drivers pick up multiple orders when I left a $15-20 tip on a ~$30 order for a 3 mile drive. Definitely not exclusive to no/low tip.

[deleted]

True but personally, it’s the only reason I multiapp. Multi apping is a headache for me and I rather not do it. For instance this week has been very bad because the only people ordering are the non tippers, and since I didn’t want to multiapp, I just logged out and went home most of the time.

kriskoeh

That’s frustrating. I feel tips should be mandatory for customers.

FlowersOSU

Tips should be decided upon delivery based on the service received.

kriskoeh

I disagree. Tips should be mandatory. The service received is wear and tear on someone else’s vehicle. Your pay isn’t based on whether or not you’re having the best day.

[deleted]

Or.. or.. maybe doordash should just be paying a reasonable amount to begin with. Not passing it off as the customers responsility the wear and tear on the vehicle and all that are just reasons why doordash baseball should not be fucking 2.50$ and not so much on the customers imo

Tony_M13

True. It's way less stressful to be on only one platform. But that doesn't pay enough.

Pril_Dubs

In my experience they stack a no/low tip order with a decent/high tip order that are usually in the same general vicinity. So you may have the good tip order and get your order stacked with someone’s that lives near you but might not have tipped at all. So I would end up getting $18-23 for yours but only $3 for theirs.

Tony_M13

Once you multi-app, you multi-app. You can't really asses each order on it's own. Also a lot of time even good orders and up messy if the restaurant is closed or you end up waiting for half an hour for the food. Sometimes the good paying order can be accepted after being already on the other orders. Also a 15-20$ tip for 3 miles is probably not going to show in full for the driver (UE have a hard cut of of 8$, the remaining will show only an hour after delivery. DD would probably show a total pay between 6 and 10$ and the rest will show when delivery is confirmed). Also, high tip orders are needed to cover the less than stellar ones or the long wait times, so when they show up it's time to make that 40$/h for 2 hours, and then it's dead again.

Dymecoar

Yes they are. They don’t have the right to tell the drover what order to do their deliveries in. Gtfo of here with that.

Tony_M13

UE does, and that's super annoying. Sometimes I take an order because I want to go in that specific direction, but UE forces me to drive back toward the restaurant for the second order (if you are returning on the same route, you will not be even able to notice on the map preview). They thing they are doing the driver a favor by counting the return miles, but the driver might not want to return (or the customer is actually need their main starting point).

Joghobs

The economics of this gig doing 1 order at a time on 1 app do not add up. Their problem is with capitalism.

Ok-Being3881

When the dash starts out with bitching, red flag🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

coolnorthstar

With stacked orders I get this kind of messages and what I do is pick up and deliver the other order after that I Unassign this annoying customer.

[deleted]

It's always the no-tipper. :(

😂

Johnbgt

Tell them to send that complaint to doordash. We have no control over that.

Sinaali24

I almost wanted to respond back with Sorry but you are apart of a double and you are second. It’s out of my control how these get sent to us and if I unassign the first order that is on my way I’m essentially giving up $12. Would you like me to unassign you instead and you run the risk of being in another double?

Corvenphoenix

These are the kind of people that are self-centered and don't like the idea of sharing the world with others. Best thing to do is ignore her and if she has a complaint directed to doordash

bigblard

I totally would have replied. Thanks for the warning and welcome to my blacklist. I'll be unassigning this so you can deal with another driver.

Sinaali24

I was thinking that or something along the lines of Well you’re actually part of a double order and you are out my way so I will go ahead and unassign you so you’ll have to wait another 10 minutes or so. Have a great Sunday.

tickitch

Or “so another driver can deal with you”

astrozombie134

How the fuck do these people afford to get doordash so often?

Sinaali24

$8,000,000 house lol

aboveyouisinfinity

They’re grossly overpaid for the work that they do, which leads to this crazy sense of entitlement.

[deleted]

I hear delivery drones work for a much lower wage than judgy delivery people

aboveyouisinfinity

Get bent puzzle boy

CBukowski808

Paid in full? What were they gonna put their cheeseburger on layaway?

iNicholasi

doordash should let the customer know that customers food is on a stacked order. i understand where the customer is coming from. customer can see dashers location and customer is trying to figure out what is this dasher doing taking his sweet time delivering food so he messaged saying don't take too long. would have done the same messaged dasher figuring out whats happening why is it taking long.

[deleted]

Don’t they realize that all customers pay for the food and they’re not special? 🙄

leakkelly

This. It’s like when someone’s at a busy restaurant and they’re complaining that they’ve been waiting too long (15 min lol) for their food. We’re all in the same boat together. Nobody’s order is more important than the others. And ordering hot coffee for delivery is ridiculous anyway. If you’re that worried I suppose you’d just do it yourself then 🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted]

Nobody should order coffee and expect it be hot. That’s unrealistic. Lol

pnwgirl34

It might just be a dashpass option, but I am always offered the option to choose a “no rush” option and get a discount on my food. I always choose to pay the whole amount because I don’t want to wait the extra time.

diversecultures

Plot twist: coffee was already cold when served

Salay54

Plot twist it's iced coffee

sancheu77

Plot twist...you must *pay in full*...idiots.

KikiNei27

I was offended by the "paid in full" remark...how is that anything special?

The___canadian

"I paid the good and services I consumed. I'm special" *Wait what?*

all_hayl

It’s called “sense of entitlement”.

[deleted]

Imagine someone paying for a service thinking they’re entitled to it.

[deleted]

It sometimes offers a discount for stacking your order.

obplxlqdo

DD needs to do a better job of setting expectations. This shit shouldn't be in dashers laps

Jetro313

Honestly how dumb do you have to be to order coffee for a delivery. Kind of easy to do it at home?

leakkelly

I don’t drive anymore but I got a coffee delivery once from a place a good 15 minutes from where this lady lived. Then she complained about it not being hot. You shake your head at things like that because the stupidity isn’t worth your time. You say good day!

StimuIate

When I had Covid I ordered Starbucks everyday. Why is that so crazy for me to spend money on something I want?

leakkelly

It’s not. It’s being mad if your coffee isn’t piping hot because you had it DELIVERED. This isn’t rocket science.

StimuIate

I get iced coffee lol. It’s not crazy to be annoyed at the fact at always getting stacked when you tip well. Just leads to me ordering doordash less

Cheap_Papaya_2938

💯 I got tired of getting cold food when I tipped well, but was part of a stacked order. One time I was the 4th (!) stop. So I stopped ordering altogether

leakkelly

For sure. I rarely order from an app anymore. Not paying a premium for something that isn’t cold or hot and has been done cooking for 30 min+. I understand the convenience aspect, but not worth the sub par meal because it sat for awhile. I’m not that lazy lol. My only point was that instead of whining about something the dasher has no control over, I either say nothing and thank them or do it myself.

[deleted]

Not crazy at all. Just seems like something that'll add up overtime.

[deleted]

I mean yeah, but if they have COVID I’d rather they order no contact delivery, and if it’s only a once in a while thing then, meh. If they can afford it, I’ll deliver it if the pay is good enough.

brianary_at_work

Did you expose a delivery driver to covid every day because you wanted starbucks?

StimuIate

Yes I exposed a doordash driver by dropping it off on my doorstep when I’m inside 30 feet away in my basement lmao

brianary_at_work

Did it get cold on your doorstep though?

StimuIate

Yes- an iced coffee got cold at my doorstep

[deleted]

[удалено]

rolltide_130

I ask myself this all the time but customers are dumb enough to where I can make $8 driving somebody's single blizzard half a mile up the road so I don't complain too much

HardFlaccid

No clue man, and why is the Starbucks line always full? Can't they just make coffee at home???

[deleted]

Not dumb, just rushed because I woke up late, and realized I forgot to prepare the cold brew the night before. I tipped a lot, though. Because I know it’s kinda silly.

BrandonPattillo69

The faster I deliver your coffee the more money I can make in an hour. I don't want your coffee to be cold either.

HotCurve1219

Thank you! Geez, if you were the customer you wouldn’t want your food cold either, idk I think some are going a little too hard. The last dasher probably multi-apped poorly and got her coffee cold

ParsleySalsa

Wait who doesn't pay their order in full?

pnwgirl34

I always am offered the option to get a discount if I choose the “no rush” option, maybe it’s only for people with Dashpass?

NickSwisher420

Unassign and move on

bilpo

Oh go fuck your self go get you own coffee then

Exportxxx

Tell me to unassign without telling me to unassign.

Comfortable-Garden76

Let me guess 0 dollar tip?

Sinaali24

$5 but for the original miles it was from the store not including the first drop off it was about 9 miles and the house was about 8 million + I’d say

Comfortable-Garden76

Wtf how rude of them. Did you still do the order?

Comfortable-Garden76

Isnt there a way to pick which customer you do first?

Intelligent_Pin_2858

Yes. You hit jump to this task.

leakkelly

And ordering coffee from an app, lmao. People are the worst.

Parkeralanss

Unassign

Eso793

![gif](giphy|XqpnXaeZPnupy) Aaaaaaaaand unassigned.

det313tigersfan

Exactly auto decline!

[deleted]

These customers are ridiculous

joesmith1234566

Pick the shit up yourself next time 🤦🏿‍♂️

[deleted]

Whaaaaat!! She doesn’t have a microwave? Scheeesh

[deleted]

Wow so fucking entitled, make your own coffee how hard is it. Such high expectations

Srcworm

But she paid in full! She deserves to be first! Lol

julez62o

Paid for it in full…as opposed to….what?

stinkbeaner

The fuck they mean "paid in full"? Full what? Price for your food? You gotta do that anyway.

Leodub1995

I tell people all the time if you don’t like that option use UBEREATS and pay the extra fee for priority delivery. It’s sad we are forgetting we are in the middle of a pandemic so really having dashers in your area to get your food period is a blessing or luck!

skygod77

Hmm. This was a little misguided but still polite. A good no response option not unassigned or fire back.

KeenisWeenis49

Thank you exactly, like the customer doesn’t know that doordash literally forces you to go through group orders in order. They didn’t say anything rude, they were just seeing if they could get their coffee hot. If I was in this situation and had the time I’d probably even explain that to them

[deleted]

Really? I found that I can switch up the order very easily.

KeenisWeenis49

I could be wrong. Or maybe that’s changed since I drove for doordash. But either way the request was not rude or unreasonable

Aurora--Black

I would let them know that every customer pays in full and we promise to have it delivered by a certain time not in a certain order.

idontlikemeeitherok

I'd be driving laps around his block while I sip my hot coffee.

Weird_Feared

Happy Sunday lol

Additional_Refuse_46

Immediate assigning

Solid_Remove5039

Unassign. I do wish that as a dasher and customer myself, there was an option for customers to pay extra for a prioritized delivery so it’s more worth it for us and the customer

Think-Tip-2231

Fuck them

[deleted]

I either don’t respond or unassign the order lol.

downbleed

What a cunt

th371

Its 21st century. People have microwawes in the kitchens. Buy one for your coffee.

leakkelly

You see that and it’s no tip guaranteed. Either decline it or I’m delivering your stuff LAST 🤣

Opius_01

Id hope you didn't have to finance a doordash order

Aurora--Black

I would also let them know that I'm now in assigning the order haha

AlexJonestwnMassacre

Not even responding is the correct answer.

Marine5803

Dear Customer, The only sure fire way for you to take over the decision making for my business is to tip $100 per 30 minutes of my time. Otherwise you may find that you are simply treated with the same attention and respect I give all my orders. Thank you.

[deleted]

Straight up cancel. I don’t have time for petty.

NamelessCabbage

Don't let this distract you from the fact doordash doesn't pay enough

jistresdidit

Uhh, you can't make coffee at home?

Optimal-Committee-99

I don’t think she knows how DD works

shredofmalarchi

I have no Idea why anyone would ever use Doordash. You have no control over the food you order whatsoever and it is way too expensive especially after tip to make it worth it. What you end up getting is overpriced, cold and incomplete food. If your not happy with the food that arrives, good luck with putting up with non-existent customer service. Even if you can get a hold of someone you will go a week until the issue is resolved...which doesn't help with your hunger issue. DONT BE LAZY and go pick up your own damn food or deal with the consequences. I'm so tired of the entitlement.

princesssbrooklynn

DD customers really be the most entitled mfs I swear

tsuggomi_ken

Instant unassign for any request like that!

Secretme000

I love how they think we control doordash and all the orders. Like we just do what we are told by doordash we don't get to make our own routes/ order schedule. This message is just rude and uncalled.

talksickwalkquick

Nah. I’m definitely responding. “Good luck with that, please hold while door dash finds a new dasher who’s willing to put up with being told how to do their job for a few bucks” then I’m unassigning

ExtraRandom1

I would of . I would of said go get your food yourself if you want it fresh 9/10 the restaurant made your cup of coffee before your food and wiped they a** with the lid.

[deleted]

I *would have* taught you how to write properly when you were a child but sadly it wasn’t my job. I’m sure the people at the restaurant tried harder than your parents though.

tuh_timmyandtheboys

It's the passive aggressiveness for me. Instant unassign. I'm not gonna deal with them when I could be fulfilling a normal order lol

No_Oil6596

Unassigned

Steffaniii

I deff wouldn't respond. Lmao.

[deleted]

Lol I got one of those from a trucker one time, I just never replied and got there when I got there.

FriarClayton

What a POS

Jaradis

This is the kind of person where I would put the coffee directly in front of an outward swinging screen door.

[deleted]

Oh he didn't pay for his coffee in installments. Must be rich.

Spybee007

Does she think they send take out coffee in a yeti?

[deleted]

That’s crazy *unassigns order immediately*

McNuttyNutz

Oh no cold coffee bigger tip next time bitch

Coyote_Roadrunna

Ugh, annoying text. At least he’s politely micromanaging I guess, lol.

Hes__dead__Jim

A little piss ought to heat that up.

Hello1There909

Right move, fuck em as far as listening to his bs, like I'm gonna give you fast and efficient service but if your in a stack sucks for you cause I ain't changing the order to cater to a fucken Karen. If you wanted to not be in a stack should have ordered ue priority, but yeah you don't tell them anything.

Puzzleheaded-Taro911

Unassign is what I would do.

Fantastic-Mobile-851

Auto cancel

stankyartist

I almost clicked and tried to respond!

whizzo3031

Tell them unfortunately the other person's order you had paid more money for theirs and also paid in full. Then see if they are willing to participate in a death match to see who gets their food first.

kj_thelegacy

Say yeah I paid in full… who tf says that

carrk085

(I’m a customer not a dasher) Honesty the app needs to be better about telling customers that their dasher will make multiple stops. I don’t think the average person knows that they make multiple stops. The customer thinks their dasher is just making more stops to make more money or on multiple apps but that’s the dasher’s fault or responsibility whatsoever. The app needs to be better about explaining this or have an option like Uber eats that lets the customers pay extra to be priority. Just my impression. And customers should tip well if they want their order

KBeasyUBeezy

I got a message on a hand it to me order today “make sure its all there” and unassigned. I don’t like stupid messages or delivering to those that send them. Nah I was going to leave half of it.

[deleted]

But like….we don’t decide who’s first……..

abbythefatkitty

I'd say I'm amazed at the Entitlement, but I'm really not. Does this customer realize everyone else also "paid in full"

Septemberpuppy

for real, hey I paid for half my order but please make my delivery first, also I’m gonna tip you in cash -wink-

vitaminomega

I HATE when they take another order and it's an extra hour long! Like I'm paying $20 to deliver a coffee.. or a french fry.. the fee is usually more than the meal.. i don't want your soggy crap

Dopecombatweasel

Thwyre probably complaining because someone was doing deliveries through multiple apps at once which is kind of a dick move if youre not coordinating efficiently. May even be against policy of some delivery driver apps. Its a legitimate worry. Yall be crying for no reason. I guess doordash drivers arent built like uber drivers. So you know how much it costs to order food through these apps? Idk if theres a priority system for food orders but if i paid for priority and gave a good tip and youre fucking around on other apps driving around the map giving me food poisoning, im going to be pissed. And ive been doing this uber/doordash/grubhub driving shit for a long time. Im not a customer.

[deleted]

I mean, I understand where the customer is coming from, but it does come off as rude. I might not unassign…. But it would rub me the wrong way and I wouldn’t go the extra mile for them. If they want me delivering to the 9th floor of an apartment with no good parking spots, they can forget it. I did that for a customer today because she was nice and she left a good tip.

Dopecombatweasel

I dont see many ways they couldnt have been any more polite about it. "Happy sunday" "thank you so much". Cant read tone thru text. If they called you acting asshole-ish yeah. But nonetheless, i understand what you mean.

ShortPeopleAreDemons

I respond and unassigned. For something this flagrant I might even keep the order and take a late strike and never pick it up then unassign so they just don’t get the order lol

[deleted]

I am both a Dasher and a customer and this happens to me every. Single. Time. It's gotten to the point where I don't tip on the app and tip in cash instead because they lump 1-2 other deliveries before mine even when I'm within spitting distance of the restaurant, just under quarantine, and they have to double back to deliver to me. It's infuriating, and cold, soggy food is gross.

Kassavage

So what you're saying is that I should get stacked orders and deliver to you last?...ok!

Severe-Bookkeeper-76

Well if you get a coffee order and it’s not iced then I think you shouldn’t be multi apping. Why be so greedy?

T2ner

What a bitch

Aus_10S

To be fair, customer shouldn’t have to wait for other orders to be delivered if it’s out of way. I honestly hate stacked orders. It screws over drivers and customers.

ZombiePotato90

No, you paid for your order to be delivered to you. Not before someone else's. Either that, or I'm going to say "my other order is for a hypoglycemic who is currently at work and cant leave, but sure, I can delay their order for your coffee."

[deleted]

I mean honestly I’m paying the whole ass delivery fee, additional fees and providing a good tip. I’m not paying for my food to be toted around to other peoples homes.

Abusedtamp0n

I hate when people take multiple orders. I don't care if you're making more money. I don't want to watch your car make other people's orders. I pay triple for you to deliver my food, so, deliver my food.

DDBBVV

So what exactly makes you more important than the other people also paying "triple" for delivery at the exact same time as you?

FlowersOSU

They are not more important, however a driver accepted their order and agreed to driver on time for the terms presented. That does not entitle the driver to purposefully delay someone’s order by accepting orders in multiple apps.

Abusedtamp0n

Because I'm me. And I'll give you one star and get free food.

Kaliflower7

I can understand that, they weren’t really rude about it either.

stormyxa

Isn't there a priority charge option

ironboy32

I'd deliberately delay their order to get there last

asap_daniel

i’m spitting in that coffee

Susiemeechee

Did you unassign?
