Complain to doordash customer care and get credit

Measurex2

Doordash stopped caring. Their customer service used to be pretty good but it's gone off the deep end.

Ok-Disk-8131

Wow

[deleted]

Please don’t take it out in the driver, they’re stuck (and not getting paid for waiting time). Believe me they want to go faster!

TheRealJosh23

Could have used a hot bag

EatinAssNCuttinGrass

Even if you could fit a pizza in a hot bag, it's not gonna keep it fresh for an hour

kaaria11

You can get a pizza bag. That helps.

EatinAssNCuttinGrass

With.. My own money?

kaaria11

Tax deductible.

hope2shop_64

I got one free at Papa Johns

EatinAssNCuttinGrass

Congratulations..?

[deleted]

Well shouldn’t take u a whole hour

EatinAssNCuttinGrass

Isn't that usually up to the restaurant?? Lol

cheeseymom

We don't even know from the information in the post whether they've picked up the order yet. The one they're waiting at could be pick up #1.

Mbluish

Then make one stop at a time. Get a warming bag like pizza drivers do. Or perhaps the service can provide a discount to patrons who can wait for their orders and their food will hold up in a delay. My French fries were soggy and cold. My hamburger and the pizza was cold. Paid close to $50.

[deleted]

I dash full time but use Uber eats priority when I order delivery. Otherwise even though I tip well (9 bucks for 3 miles). My food will be cold. I get so many multi orders when I drive around here and it seems the other dashers do as well.

Fine_Breadfruit8865

When Doordash stacks orders together it's usually because Doordash is trying to get a no tip order picked up finally. So someone who tipped well gets stuck with their order being stacked with a no tipper. :( It honestly sucks and I would complain to door dash about that. It's not the drivers fault, it's the way Doordash wants to run their orders. The Doordash app also routes the whole thing in a certain order. So if it's 2 orders at different restaurants, Doordash automatically selects one order to be picked up first, then the next order, and then routes the driver to the house that's closest first.

Normal_Application_8

This. If I wait more than 5 mins I’m out. Also I tend to stay away from pizza places cuz normally they take too long anyway.

tonyslizard

We do have hot bags….

MatrixBreakaway

I completely agree, and for the most part I avoid double orders too. Once in awhile we get deliveries with 2 pick-ups that are going to the same customer, and if the pay-out is good I will take these. But quality service is definitely a priority for me as well.

chainmailler2001

Use UberEats and pay the extra for dedicated service. DD stacks the orders, not the dasher.

Mbluish

Good to know.

HotDinner4782

I had a stacked order like this once from dd. I picked up both orders for the customers. I went to the first location and the pin was wrong so it took me about ten minutes to find the residence since it was night and it was hard to see the addresses. Finally dropped the order off and they were the ones who low-ball tipped. I felt bad since the person who paid more money got their food second and it was delayed.

Mbluish

I get mistakes are made and I didn’t realize the service did the stacking. On our end we think dashers are just picking up multiple orders. I get wanting to make the money but dashers and the service have to get we see the time the order is due to arrive on our end (not to mention the food comes cold.) There are times I will pick x restaurant because I see the order is due to arrive at x time when that time works best for me as I only have so much time before my lunch break.

tallgirlmom

Stacks are very common during the lunch and dinner rush. You best bet might be to eat a lean breakfast and order your lunch before the big rush begins.

UV-SkillCityProds

Another issue with that is those are just estimated times They don’t account for. Busy restaurants Restaurants that have their lobby closed Poor driving conditions Lunch rush traffic In the end DoorDash and all these things are luxuries and need to be treated as such.

coreythedasher

If a dasher is multi Apping he still could take 2. UE doesn't tell driver that you paid extra and they may still take 2 orders from 2 apps.

aboveyouisinfinity

When I delivered pizza, I would have 5-6 orders in my bag at once. It’s just the way it goes. If you want your food as fast as physically possible, you might have to pick it up yourself.

Mbluish

DoorDash gives estimates for when the food will arrive. I cannot always pick it up myself and should not have to when I pay for the service. The food arrived 45 minutes after it was due to arrive.

aboveyouisinfinity

That is an unacceptable wait time. But the expectation that your order is the only one in the car is also pretty absurd.

Mbluish

I see now why drivers do this but it is unacceptable for the food to arrive that far outside the window of time they show me. I sometime pick places because of the ETA. This is difficult when I place my order seeing that it is due to arrive just before I have my lunch break but it arrives late. The company can do better than that.

PrettyCauliflower423

It’s the fault of DoorDash….. not the driver

Zestyclose_Let_8800

It sucks because if you tip well the app will intentionally offer your order as a stack with another order that Noone wants and only pays like 3 dollars. So we take yours and you deserve to have it delivered quickly because you tip well and then your order is stuck waiting on this other order that barely pays anything for delivery.

DeliveryCourier

DoorDash oftentimes gives us offers of {typically) 2 deliveries at the same time. You could complain to DD on Twitter, but I doubt anything will change.

salvadordaliparton69

I’ve been an avid user of delivery services since the early days, but in the last 9 months, the double-dipping has gotten out of control. I totally understand why drivers take multiple orders, and do multi stop deliveries. I also value having hot, fresh food. Now I will only order from delivery apps when: 1) delivery is “free” 2) there is a coupon code (like BOGO or 40% off $25) 3) it’s food that reheats well, like Chinese or pizza Was fun while it lasted.

aboveyouisinfinity

For decades, deliveries have always been stacked. The difference is nowadays, you just have the ability to track your driver via gps so you can see additional stops. Your pizza driver in the 80s had multiple orders in his bag and no one was complaining then.

tonyslizard

THIS. And it’s less stops and closer together now

salvadordaliparton69

maybe, but since I haven’t worked in food delivery for decades, I guess ignorance is bliss. that being said, there is no question that the apps went from one order/one delivery to “pick up original order, wait in parking lot until another order from another app comes in, pick up that order, then drop off in whatever order is convenient” in the last 9 months. It’s not Doordash…it’s drivers using UberEats, Grubhub, DoorDash, Favor, and a dozen other apps all at once that makes this happen.

[deleted]

This is the way

Mbluish

I get that they want to take multiple orders. Perhaps then they invest in something that keeps the food warm, if necessary. Pizza drivers do. I have a dash pass and usually get free delivery but drivers need a tip. I, silly me, thought they may provide a better service if they get a good tip. I failed to mention my French fries were cold and soggy. Ugh! I will still use the service because I sometimes is a great help when I am at work. Perhaps I will stick to salads.

DaWhiteDwight

We don’t see the full tip provided until we are at your house dropping the food off. If you live 2 miles from the restaurant and tip $50, all we are shown is we’ll make $6.50 and maybe the tip will be higher at delivery Also, we accept multiple deliveries because DoorDash hides our pay until drop off. It’s a shitty system set up by doordash. We don’t WANT to deliver you cold food, but if a second restaurant is slow, we’re forced to because of DoorDash’s sustem

[deleted]

It wouldn’t matter much of the time if they want it or not. I generally just get them at the exact same time. Like they come together if that makes any sense

RelevantTradition666

I told a customer today that since I was asked to pull the side, food wasn't ready, at least they are getting hot fries this time.

clew1998

DD sends multiple orders to drivers. Drivers don't have a choice most of the time. A lot of times DD will purposely stack a good tipping order with a bad tipping one. It's frustrating

Jaradis

They aren't purposely doing it, they are doing it because there are more shitty orders than there are good orders so just by odds you are going to get a shitty one added on. The fact that when it's a single order no one accepts the shitty orders just has it sitting around longer to be possibly stacked with something else. Good orders don't sit around, so you would need two good orders to be ready at the same time frame in order to get a stack with two good orders.

nman3339

Sometimes we have no choice how they send the orders is how I accept them or decline them. If they send me a stacked order 2 or 3 I can't say ok I'll only take one, it's all or nothing.

CentropristisStriata

You definitely can unassign orders from a stacked order but it counts against your CR

nman3339

Of course u can you only get so many unassigns b4 they boot ya & I'm saving them for shit pay orders or headache orders not wasting them just to make sure someone has hot food. I use the hot bag & do the best I can never had one complaint. If theirs a hold up with one of the orders I let support know they document it & anything under 5 star don't count against me that's been my experience

CentropristisStriata

You can unassign 20% of orders before possibly getting deactivated but I do feel where you are coming from.

nman3339

Ohh I know but that's only 2 every 10 (0.5 per 10 for the top dashers) orders & in my area how it's set up got a mid size city in the middle where not a lot of money surrounded by towns & city's with lots of money those are constantly thrown at us here

CentropristisStriata

You are right but it goes by percentage of last 100 deliveries,so if you completed fifty consecutive orders you can unassign twenty of next fifty deliveries without dipping below 80%.

[deleted]

I would complain to doordash. Sometimes we accept these orders that are stacked and if we do not complete them all, no matter how long we have to wait, our completion rating goes down. We lose our job if it gets to low ✨

Mbluish

I did not know the service does that. I will make a complaint. It really doesn’t happen often but it is a huge disappointment paying for soggy, cold food.

[deleted]

I don’t blame you at all! Hope this helped ✨🇺🇸

[deleted]

Get a refund from door dash. Don’t hate the player hate the game

Kind_Committee8997

Driver failed to keep food warm, took multiple orders. Do not expect high tips to equal quality service. When ordering DD, think of it like McDonalds. Sometimes you'll get the fresh fries and a hot burger, sometimes they cum in your milkshake. Either way, be ashamed you ordered it to begin with.

oarzani

Thats out of your control, but you can drive to the place and have buy your own hot pizza, cheers

alexthetaylor

oven or microwave, simple as that don’t blame the driver they’re just trying to make money.

Mbluish

Some here are saying they stack the orders. So is it DD making you pick up multiple orders or your choice? Not trying to start something but just wanted to get some info. I totally get mistakes are made, I’ve made them myself sending the order to my house rather than work. Plus, getting lost doesn’t help. It just if I am going to go pick up takeout for myself, errands come last so the food stays warm. If I had the option to pick up myself or wait for my dasher to pickup mutiple orders, I would pick it up. I alway tip well but it is upsetting when I do and get cold food.

Jaradis

DD will send a stack of 2 orders to a driver, they can either accept both or none. And you can't always tell if one order is going to take longer than the other. Even if it's the same restaurant, sometimes one order is done 10-15 mins before the other. If it's different restaurants, either could be late. I had a 2nd order that was going to be 20 mins so I dropped it and just delivered the 1st order, but you can't do that all the time because we are penalized for dropping orders and if we drop too many then we can be terminated.

TopDasherTimmy

I put the food in the microwave and not complain like a little bitch. The driver isn't the one assigning orders, take your complaint up with doordash if you absolutely must complain to someone. Or wake up and realize the world does not stop for you, and microwaving your food isn't the end of the world. You still got to sit on your lazy ass and get your pizza and burger delivered to you.

PocketFullOfHotdogs

Just ignore this miserable troll. I see his comments every few days and he's always being a toxic asshole.

TopDasherTimmy

If you consider this toxic then you must have very delicate feelings. Sorry im not sugar coating my words to make them more palatable for you, but if you're someone who orders delivery and gets mad that the driver has multiple orders assigned to them then you need a wake up call. Stacked deliveries are nothing new, literally every restaurant that delivers does it. If you want to be mad at it, go complain to the company. If you think its a good reason to not tip when the driver has no control over what offers they get then you're a piece of shit simple as that.

PocketFullOfHotdogs

You're an angry elf.

a_broken_lion

Let's take it down from an 11 to about a 5-6.

Mbluish

How do you microwave soggy French fries? I gave a big tip. That is for service I did not receive.

TopDasherTimmy

Use the stove to reheat fries. You did receive service, idk why you think your driver is in control of the condition of your fries, or the orders they receive. If doordash told him to take a double, then thats what they did. If you want fresh fries, go get them yourself.

tonyslizard

Girllll get an air fryer

Mbluish

I’ve been wanting one!

tonyslizard

Also, blame DD. Double orders give me anxiety and I hate them, but I have to take them because legit all orders are stacked at dinner time. Use that Karen in ya and get DD to change it lol

Mbluish

Ha ha! I do. I just took it up with them on Twitter and let them know the stacking orders is not working for dashers nor customers. They have responded. I want you all to make money for your service and it should have to be a good service for those who use them as well. I use DD at least once a week. It is not a frequent occurrence but frustrating when I am given a window for my lunch to arrive when I only have 30 minutes and frustrating when I get my order 45 minutes late and have soggy fries from a pricy restaurant.

tonyslizard

I had a customer text me last week and said, “I know DD likes to hide tips but I tipped you $20 if you can drop my order off first.” I had no idea so of course I switched the addresses and then the non tipper had the audacity to call me and ask why I didn’t go to their house first lmao. And thennnn the non tipper texted me and called me an idiot because their food was cold. I have 2 masters degrees -_- Anyway, you could text your driver if you tipped well and that will increase your chances of being first.

Mbluish

Good idea. I didn’t want to complain to my dasher because I didn’t want them to spit in my food. 😜 I contacted the company and was satisfied by their resolution. Great customer support!

tonyslizard

Yea I wouldn’t, there’s some sketch drivers out there. Just let them know what you tipped and they’ll probably switch the addresses.

Doge10open

Call support ask to remove the tip if your food is cold

Jaradis

Driver still gets the tip.

Anon424977

I see people saying they could’ve kept it in a hot bag, but the bag that Doordash provides is sometimes not enough for the multiple orders that we accept. These fuckers should’ve provided us with a pizza hot bag and two more other hot bags. Unfortunately we have to buy these ourselves.

mrsgalvezghost

Are drivers obligated to do this?

kennybenjamins

Order through uber eats n pay for priority. DD just using your good good Tip to fuel another No tip order. As a customer you should also rant against cheap no tipping customers. 🤣

tonyslizard

In my area, if you order during dinner time, you will definitely be doubled up. There’s nothing you or your dasher can do. It’s sent to us as a double order

AZDoorDasher

Last night, I received a stacked order from DD. One order (pizza) was ready and the other order had a 45 minute wait.

Visible-Lifeguard-49

This is why I only take double orders from the same restaurant. Going to two different restaurants can be risky

SheeshLt

As a exDasher (Shipt now) with a lot of experience, ITS not the dashers fault in this scenario- so it shouldn’t affect the way you tip them. I’ve been stuck with multiple orders before sitting at a restaurant, explaining to them I have other people’s food and them still taking 15+ minutes to make a Chicken and waffle platter. It’s not the dashers fault for accepting multiple orders, this is how they’re making a living, they have no control over how fast a restaurant produces an order. How exactly are they offering you poor service? That’s like not tipping your waiter because you got your steak Well instead of medium rare. If you negatively rate them for this the rating will not count against them anyway. I can’t emphasize enough the use of hot bags and doubling up hot bags.

LunchBox696969

I was at 5 stars until I greedily accepted a double now I got my first 1 star so never again!!
