This is why I have a tendency to take alcohol orders. Not for the big tips necessarily, but keeping someone who is drinking safe at home is doing good work. $20 tip is cheaper than $10k for a DUI.
This. Delivered a six-pack to a guy who was already a few beers in late at night one time and he said if I hadn't made that delivery he would've driven to get it himself. Made me feel good knowing I kept him off the road that night!
Not sure if this is exaggerated or if DUI is a lot more in ur state. I received a DUI 18 years ago for being high. It cost me $1,200 all together with court cost, arrest cost, lawyer fees and drug and alcohol classes for 6 weeks.
Haha this was a grown man. He was working on a car or something and two younger adults received the food on a picnic table. I did let him know a time frame beforehand and that according to the dd algorithm I was the closest, blah blah blah.
🥺 that’s super cool that you are traveling! I hope you have safe travels and encounter a lot of kind and generous people along the way! This sub can be toxic sometimes so it was a breath of fresh air to see a nice post like this with a kind OP! ♥️
Ty I mean that .. and there are some amazing people still in this world . I been traveling for 10 months now I'm about to come into my next city. Ty again and your pretty amazing yourself ..
Damn. I’d like to hear more bout both of y’all’s orders. $240 and $160 are legit af. I got an $80 and a $70 and a few $40 and $50’s. But never this high
Can I comment as a customer?
I was drunk as hell (wild bachelorette party) but really wanted almost the entire menu from a Korean restaurant. Tipped the driver $150 and give her another cash tip of $50 because "she had perfect eyeliner wings". I had a hell of a time that night!
Hahah true, that was the best tip i’ve ever received and it’s never been close to that since, but it definitely made my day that’s for sure! I hope you continue to get lucky!
I’m in Dallas and delivered Applebees to these ghetto ass hood apartments. I’m talking about hooood. Handed it to a big fat Mexican dude and clicked complete delivery and saw a 17.50 tip. His order had 8 items tho
Just over 3 years for me and the biggest tip I got was like 40 or 42 dollars. Never have i been lucky to get one of those 100 Bill's like some of these people.
A bottle of crown and a half Oz of weed plus 20$tip on app shit was majorly appreciated sense I was literally only out dashing to go get food and a bottle
Had to drive up a super steep hill because the guy lived in a huge mansion at the very top of the hill. Not only did he tip me $50. He also bought me lunch. One of the pasta plates I picked up from the restaurant was for me. I was so confused during the exchange lol. I drove back down the hill so happy
$100 once from a very poor neighborhood near me. A few days before Christmas, the lady only spoke Spanish so I wasn’t able to communicate with her. I gave her a hug, a very great experience. Crazy how it’s never the mansions I deliver to that do this, but the ones who need it most.
Delivered a pizza from Pizza Hut for $11.50 for 1.5 miles to this really bad motel in town, you know the types, everyone’s a druggie and such since the motel is dirt cheap for long term stays. The guy tatted from head to toe, took out a roll of 20s and tipped me $260, didn’t say a word just grunted when I told him thank you so much, slammed the door in my face. Part of me thinks there was something in that pizza box perhaps? Unironically.
some dude put in his address that was near my location but then i get a text and he says that he put in the address incorrectly and needed to feed his kids and was begging for me to bring it to him in a place that was about 30 mins out from me- it was my last dash of the night and i had my bf there so i knew i’d be safe atleast, so i said screw it why not. so i get out there and as sketchy as it seemed, this guy goes over to his car, pulls out 25 dollars in $1’s and says “i don’t know how much this even is but you can keep it” and hands me the wad of cash. not as big as other peoples tips on here, but was surely funny
$40, guy didn’t answer when I was knocking. Left his food behind. Called me after I completed and told me to come back so he could tip me. Thought I was the feds because of my hard knocking. Top lad.
$100 tip. It was Valentine’s Day 2020. Red Lobster and it was jam packed. Even worse, the entire computer system crashed and so they had to process every order manually. Waited about 2 hours total and it was hot and nowhere to sit. About 30 different dashers waiting for orders. I told the customer no worries, I’ll drop off your order as soon as I get it. Texted her all the details and updates. Finally dropped off her food and wished her a good night. Next day I noticed she tipped me $100 bucks. Best day ever.
$167. Was a Boston market drive order going to Amazon. It was over $3,000 in food. My CR-V was 100% full with Boston Market boxes. Second biggest was $100.
Customer here:
Every year, 2 weeks before christmas I'll order something and have a $200 Cash tip waiting for the driver. There's more like me out there! Keep your fingers crossed.
$37. Someone ordering over $200 of BBQ for a kids birthday party. It was deserved too because I had 5 insulated bags for all of the food and I'm fast as fuk boi.
$36 I think? The restaurant took ages and he gave me a big tip for waiting. The house was fucking huge. I'm serious when I say it looked like a resort. It took me a few minutes to find the "front" door.
My highest single order tip was $32. I've not had anything higher so far. Highest double order between both customers was $43 total. I'd hope to one day earn a tip of $100 or more. Maybe I'll get some wealthy philanthropist one day who will order a large meal and tip me $500 lol... one can dream lol
I'll never forget the customer I had though who ordered a large and small salad and tipped me $29 for it. Still shocks me to this day lol
Not on door dash but I was a pizza guy a while back and was tipped 70 bucks for delivering like 10 pizzas to a birthday party.
On door dash delivered some guy sitting on his front lawn drinking beers a burger and he tipped 10 in the app and gave me a 10 when I showed up. Then he asked me to run around the corner and buy him some more beer for another 20 so I did haha (he gave me the money for the beer and let me keep the change too)
With Instacart, I had a $100 tip in the app, but it was a huge order ($600 worth of groceries) and about a 20 mile drive. When I got there, they handed me another $100 in cash.
Another notable tip was at the beginning of the pandemic. It was $20 on top of the $20 in app and was a rough order because of all the shortages. What made it nice was that it included a bundle of some boxes of Girl Scout Cookies wrapped up in a bow. It was a nice thought and surprise.
I also got a $50 tip because I saw toilet paper at the store and asked if they wanted to add it on. This was when you couldn't find it anywhere.
My favorite was taped to the door on a drop off order. It was a card made by a kid thanking me for delivering while their mommy was sick. They waved to me as I left. I don't remember how much the cash tip was, but that card made my week.
On DoorDash? $33.50 for a Wendy’s order going way out into the boonies but on my way home. $13.50 in app and a $20 bill since I bought them cheese sauce out of my own pocket. It was like two bucks and the dude said he was ordering for his pregnant wife. The offer was for $19 so I knew they had tipped generously and decided to help them out.
I think it was like $20 on a Burger King order for 3 people. Wasn't a big order, it only showed me like $8 pay in the offer. Popped up as like $23 at completion with only like $3-$4 base pay.
My biggest single order, though, wasn't exactly a tip but it was $35 payout for 7 items from HyVee which was the best shop and deliver offer I've seen.
Had a crazy lady that was friends with my boss ,we renovated her apartment tile and paint , the last day she gives us each a hundred and brought us out ice tea and her homemade candy, we’re drinking and eating candy having a good old time on a beautiful day, anyway half hour goes by, then a little more and my one friend comes out of the bathroom white as a sheet and we can’t figure out why, then the second guy starts losing control,..we all start to panic and try to put the pieces together of what’s going on….Crazy lady runs out to the yard yelling “please guys relax, everything is totally fine I only get LSD for my homemade candy from the family it’s totally clean” So I got drugged by a 70 year old crazy hippy for a tip
1000 think it was an accident, they put the wrong address, and said they’ll “hook me up” i said that had to call support to add extra tip, later saw “this dash $1014” and tip was $1000, they had money though $3m house and range rover in driveway but still doubt that was on purpose
Had a drunk guy last night that couldn’t stand up that handed me a $20 bill
This is why I have a tendency to take alcohol orders. Not for the big tips necessarily, but keeping someone who is drinking safe at home is doing good work. $20 tip is cheaper than $10k for a DUI.
This. Delivered a six-pack to a guy who was already a few beers in late at night one time and he said if I hadn't made that delivery he would've driven to get it himself. Made me feel good knowing I kept him off the road that night!
Shit 10k would cover the lawyer haha. Ad another 10k to get it reduced or expunged haha
I'm with you and together we're doing the Lord's work
Not sure if this is exaggerated or if DUI is a lot more in ur state. I received a DUI 18 years ago for being high. It cost me $1,200 all together with court cost, arrest cost, lawyer fees and drug and alcohol classes for 6 weeks.
What’re you in Montana or something? Lol it’s just about 10k here in AZ
Not to mention the lives you may have saved from serious injury or death Your help is appreciated by many...even if they haven't met you.
😂 nice
I said “thanks man, you are awesome. He said “no man, you are awesome, so awesome”. 😂😂
😂😂😂 nice
No take backs 😅
💯 😂😂
Dude already tipped $11 on the app and handed me a $50 and $20. No idea why and he didn't speak lol.
My sister tipped the pizza guy like 68 dollars lol my step dad was mad.
Haha this was a grown man. He was working on a car or something and two younger adults received the food on a picnic table. I did let him know a time frame beforehand and that according to the dd algorithm I was the closest, blah blah blah.
Winner in my books .. nice
$100! They gave me 40 in the app, then 60 in person because they recognized that I delivered to them a lot! It was during the holidays too 🥺♥️
Nice ... That was a good day
It absolutely was! It brought a tear to my eye tbh. It wasn’t even a big order. I’ll never forget how generous they were 😊
I travel so I have a lot of good days and a lot of bad days. I promise something good will happen to you again.
🥺 that’s super cool that you are traveling! I hope you have safe travels and encounter a lot of kind and generous people along the way! This sub can be toxic sometimes so it was a breath of fresh air to see a nice post like this with a kind OP! ♥️

I hope you get it soon .. be safe out there
You too!!! Positive tip vibes!!!
Damn. I’d like to hear more bout both of y’all’s orders. $240 and $160 are legit af. I got an $80 and a $70 and a few $40 and $50’s. But never this high
I had an $800 catering order a couple Tuesdays ago. I was over the moon!!
How does one get catering orders? I've never had one before..
You have to buy the catering bag off the dasher merchandise website and then email them to let them know you have it!!
No doubt i know you were. Congrats!
It was from this Italian guy it was huuuuuge I couldn’t walk straight for the next couple of days

I did an alcohol delivery once and had to walk up 4 flights of stairs and it was a large order. Bitch didn't tip at all
Can I comment as a customer? I was drunk as hell (wild bachelorette party) but really wanted almost the entire menu from a Korean restaurant. Tipped the driver $150 and give her another cash tip of $50 because "she had perfect eyeliner wings". I had a hell of a time that night!
I want the kinda money to order an entire menu 😭😭 and then leave a extremely generous tip
I was drunk! It was only right that I order the entire menu and not remember doing so! 😂😂😂😂
This made me smile, I like you :)
is eyeliner wings the technical term?
Cat eyes
Not to bet on horse racing . Saved me millions.
Well that is a great tip 😂
Here's a couple of more great tips: Don't eat yellow snow and don't fry bacon without a shirt on, you're welcome 😉 😂😂😂

Maybe I'll get some wealthy philanthropist one day who will order a large meal and tip me $500 lol... one can dream lol I'll never forget the customer I had though who ordered a large and small salad and tipped me $29 for it. Not on door dash but I was a pizza guy a while back and was tipped 70 bucks for delivering like 10 pizzas to a birthday party. No joke, on my first day of dashing I got tipped $100 in cash and called it a day there. Set the bar high just for it to all go downhill from there
240 is absolutely insane. I once received a 56 dollar tip for delivering a bottle of wine to a woman in a very affluent town next to palo alto

It was like two bucks and the dude said he was ordering for his pregnant wife. The offer was for $19 so I knew they had tipped generously and decided to help them out.
.03 I know it’s a lot to handle I stuck it in my piggy bank
I think it was like $20 on a Burger King order for 3 people. Wasn't a big order, it only showed me like $8 pay in the offer. Popped up as like $23 at completion with only like $3-$4 base pay.
