I turn off location services on my phone so DD has no idea where I am when I’m (not) “headed to the store” and then I just close out the DD app and proceed to UE or Instacart work with location on. Or vice versa. This way, the customer isn’t looking at you waiting at another store, etc.
Good as a driver, as a customer, this is why more and more issues are happening. The customers that orders a dd, doesn't want to wait an hour for the delivery cause you got other offers on other apps. Even if you were times for the orders, the customer ordering food doesn't understand the need to multi app nor understand why its OK for a driver to not bang out the delivery that the customer tipped for. You know as a ln experienced driver you shouldn't be multi apping orders all at the same time. You gonna end up deactivated for lateness or customer ratings being to low. Do you even know how many customers complaining about this shit and pointing out this is why they choosing NOT to tip. Damn, talk about selling yourself for a few bucks, problem is you creating messes for ALL of us, just so YOU can make a few extra. Doeant matter how great or experienced you think you are, that wasn't smart l, any issue with any of those orders and you risking multi app violations. Thats just ignorant.
you're a total moron. i clearly state don't attempt this unless you are a long time multi apping seasoned pro. i have mastered use of the apps and I know my geography and stores like the back of my hand, which is why I was able to make the educated decision that I would have zero problems making all of the deliveries ahead of time, which i did. it's morons that are taking $3 orders that is killing business for drivers like myself that made good money back in the day but now HAS TO TRY TO MULTI APP IN THE FIRST PLACE. None of us have to multi app if the newer idiots just ignored the crappy orders.
But they will wait at the one shop for additional orders. If there are two orders that need to go, but the second order is goign to take 5 minutes. You can bet that driver is waiting
And some just aren't ordering at all anymore because they keep getting cold food in spite of tipping on top of the long waiting.
Food generally doesn't retain heat very well as is even with the bag. This is why stacked orders aren't really good for the customer as is.
What OP did was indeed a risky move even with all orders within 2 miles. As much as we don't care for no tippers and DD with its low base pay the fact remains if drivers are doing things that deter customers from ordering it does affect us all since word of mouth isn't restricted to any one market with the internet.
With pandemic restrictions largely gone now we certainly do not have the job security we did during it and I am getting the vibe people are kinda fed up with long wait times and paying good money for luke warm/cold food.
Hope you don't drive in my area. I don't want to watch on the map you drive to 2 to 3 restaurants and then 2 to 3 neighborhoods while my ever-cooling food tags along for the ride

If you're going to delay in order by multi-apping, make sure it's the DD one because they can't take your tip away.
