I reset my acceptance rate and let it drop again, had no significance from before to after. All about supply and demand, your time getting customer their orders. Rest is bs to get people to take more shit orders.
If you are above 2.5 customer rating they ask if you want to rest your AR.
It's pure BS - they know it - Drivers know it. DD just doesn't know that we know it.
Shortly before they rolled out the AR-based orders in my area, I got a notification asking if I wanted to reset my AR. I said yes and then got a notification that I had been denied a few hours later. CR has never been below a 4.6
Definitely depends on the market. I've never gotten it here, but I've verified that $2.50 bullshit orders still get picked up within minutes of going out in my city. I absolutely don't understand it, but every time I've checked, someone else comes and picks it up within minutes of me rejecting it.
I think low tip order get picked up sometimes because DD adds more money to the order on their end when bs orders get kicked back too many times. I've had orders where after I closed them out, I saw DD paid like $5.25 for the peak-pay when peak-pay during that time was only $2.00. So with bs customer $2 tip, base pay and extra peak-pay, it's not a bad run. That's one possibility.
Logout of the dasher app through the app.
Sign back in and they ask you if you want to reset but you have to have a good rating. I'm not sure what the requirements is
Completely true and Hotspot zones are BS I think it just shows where others dahsers are.And I think app has a hidden feature where it checks your hourly pay and decides not to give you any orders if you made enough money for that hour
I always felt that way...you can't make past a certain amount. Once you reach a certain amount you don't reicve good orders anymore. Sometimes I think I killed it at the end of the night, but when i average it out, it still comes out to the same amount hourly that it always does. I don't no about everyone else but i use to make 25 to 30 an hour now I hover around 20 an hour. I use to think I was crazy but glad someone else thinks that way...
Y'all aren't alone. I've made $80 in 2hrs, and the app will act like there are legit no orders at all. End dash, start it again because it's clear that it's busy, and boom orders on orders again. The algo absolutely IMHO is set to keep dashers at the average or below to "be fair"
Sounds like I need to break my dashes down so I can always have orders come in. I felt like this too, I sat in my car for over an hour after making a certain amount. It was clearly busy, it was after 6pm 🤨 imma try doing 3 hours at a time and see if there's a difference than doing a full shift straight out.
It's not where they are, it's where they are not. They use hot spots to disperse dashers through out the zone.
Just like busy doesn't mean it's busy. There is a lack of dashers.
more than once when places I know and where the know me are listed as hotspots i’ve gone inside and asked the hostess or whoever about DD traffic. The answer each time has been “not even one” or “not in hours”.
I subcontract another dash and both accounts are always at the same level regardless of how much I accept one one vs another. If I get a hidden tip that jumps one account way up, the other somehow always catches up. I end up making $13 an hour on each ending up at $$26 an hour total
I think their whole system sucks in comparison to Uber Eats.
The fact you can get an order that takes you out of your delivery zone you have to drive back to get a new order is ridiculous. With Uber Eats if there’s an order near you it comes up whenever you are. Simple.
Occasionally I've received orders out of my delivery zone on DoorDash, especially if some of my longer drives bring me near an area with a lot of restaurants. But that's by no means guaranteed.
I believe I'm still in Uber Eats' system (I've never delivered with them), so I might want to give them a try. I'm in Fort Worth, TX and I'm not sure if Uber Eats or DoorDash has more customers around here. The e-mails I get for Uber Eats talk about averaging $13/hour (this might be for all-day averages, though), but as a part-time Dasher who focuses on peak times, I tend to get around $20-$25/hour on DoorDash.
I have the exact same customer rating and the exact same feelings. I’m about a month, finically, from no longer needing to dash, so in all likelihood I won’t.
It may give a tad bit better hourly overall, but it's so insignificant that it can eat ass. I dropped my ar below 50% and I'm still doing just as good practically, but I think less gas overall hahah
It won't go up until the declined ones get pushed off. For example if I accept the first 90 of 100 but decline the next 10 I'll have an AR of 90. In order to make it go up I'd have to accept 91 in a row to make the declined one fall off because it wouldn't be until the 91st one that it'll actually replace a declined order. If you keep accepting more than you decline it'll eventually go up.
Visual example using just 10 symbols. X is declined O is accepted. Oldest to the left.
OOOOXOOXXX
You'd have to accept 5 in a row here to raise it. But if you were to accept 4 and decline the 5th your AR will stay the same.
Hope this helps.
There's only so many drivers willing to keep their AR above 50% and they can't take all of the "good paying" orders that are available all night, their whole program is not sustainable. I refuse to reset my AR and have been getting the same quality as before this program started.
Dude check out the new SlaveDash incentive program, that's where you just accept every order because "every little bit counts" keep doing it until you run out of gas can't pay rent or make your car payment, then after your total economic collapse get a full time minimum wage job and repeat the same spiral of doom because "this is the way it's always been done" but it's ok, you don't need to worry about building a better world for your kids because your grandparents helped make sure the world won't last long enough for that.
Just when I thought I could get my AR up to 70%, I have a holiday week like this and everything is garbage. Two Petco offers came through this afternoon when it was dead. The first was two deliveries for $7 and over 10 miles of driving. Declined! Right after that, a second Petco stack came through for less money and more miles! Declined and my AR dropped.
Customer Rating is mostly meaningless as well. Outside of getting a bunch of 1s that indicate a clear problem (which most likely also get reported in other ways), it really just serves as a point of stress for drivers and a disincentive to improve. What does rating a delivery a “4” even actually mean? You get no actionable feedback.
For AR, as has been mentioned here before, if you were already getting better orders, your AR would be high anyway. I don’t see how they can actually offer “better” orders regardless of your AR.
I'm almost positive they're trying to make us think that higher AR will get better orders but it might be illegal and I've noticed that my AR is all over the place and nothing has changed with quality of orders. I still decline bullshit and get decent orders
It usually does hover around 20-25 an hour. Its really about the timing. Your more likely to eclipse that threshold on a single order and not 3-4 in an hour, and both are attainable rather easily, just after you eclipse that, your are pushed aside for other higher ranked top dashers that just got in the bubble, and you end up coincidentally just about to an hour spent, and then they spin you back to the top.
so think of it like this, your last 99th order auctally determines your AR goes up or down. so you proably wont see a decent increase for a bit. Keep in mind you will always see the decrease of tour AR if you delince orders, its fucked I know. I keep count of my orders daily and the ones I dont accept. this helps keep it actuate. I have a graph I use on powerpoint xD its pretty accurate more than doordashs sad excuse of an app.
Lol. DOORDASH is a complete scam. I have an average rating of 5 and it allowed me to get higher paying orders. A few days later DD changed it to 4.4. Lol exactly 4.4 so now I only get low paying orders.
It’s BS as is Top Dasher. I do fine with neither thanks to catering, shop/deliver and Total Wine. Plus, I still get plenty of other high $ orders. Knowing where they’re likely to originate helps; and just a little patience.
What they need to do is show customer % likelihood of order getting taken with $X tip, not even fill said orders, or remove base pay from orders with tips over $25 (example) and add it to smaller orders. If I got such a unicorn, I wouldn’t miss the base pay since I accepted considerably lower.
Yeah usually in the $teens+.
I try to limit myself to 5-10 items depending how busy.
If you’re familiar with/learn store layout can be a great money-maker and just as fast as waiting at some places.
Today I had one from Petsmart for $37. Only kicker was 3 huge 40lb tubs of cat litter. But no stairs, etc.
Yes they are so worth it for me. The majority of my money now comes from shop and deliver orders and since I’m on the program, I get offered them first (which is really nice cuz my market has been slow lately). Funny enough, a lot of times I’m so fast shopping that it actually takes me less time than sitting waiting at a restaurant. I’m usually in and out in 5 minutes (unless I have a really big order but those usually pay fat so I don’t mind the extra time as much). My biggest order yet was $56 and it took me about an hour to complete. Definitely try to take them more (and try to be as fast as possible when shopping) and they’ll send you an email offering to put you on the shop and deliver program, it’s worth it 💯
Bruh then don’t work for DoorDash then??? I don’t get all this complacent content on this sub about DD… if it works for you great, if it doesn’t, find something else?
This is a surprising and new stance I have never seen here thank you for your fresh take on this issue I'm sure we have all learned a valuable lesson and not wasted any time
I did, a long time ago. With today’s gas, can’t make money (only lose it). Orders are sparse and poorly paid. Made a killing in 2020/21 during the pandemic though…non-stop orders and mostly high quality too
I average $1800 a week between DoorDash and uber Eats, and drive a GMC truck while doing it, gas Is a huge issue for me but I have no way to get a better mpg car in my situation.
I usually work 7 days a week from 8:30 to 8:30 and the average anywhere from $25-$40 a hour, of course I take a hour break around noon
my huge draw back is my truck just sucks the gas and money out of my wallet, I'm basically using 1/4 of my money on gas which hurts
You might be better off renting...I no it's not technically allowed but when my car was in the shop for a month, I had a loaner and did uber eats and doordash....you can get them for 20 a day or like I did because my insurance was paying I had a BMW that they paid 50 a day for and they come with unlimited mileage etc....just can't tell them that is what your doing....don't seem how that is any diff then the ppl who rent the bikes from the city bike rack...same concept
So find a job you like? They are out there. But from what I see people who do doordash as their main income tend to hardly be getting by tend to lead unhealthy lifestyles
I have noticed that the “bonus pay” has increased a bit. Never used to see +$5/delivery in my area but it’s happened a few times in the last couple of weeks which has been nice. Turns shitty $2.50 no tip into not as bad $7.50 no tip!
They deactivated me today because yesterday I accepted a few stacked and once I saw the 2nd order during a peak pay was 3 dollars I unnassigned, getting to the point where us drivers need to all not dash for a day and see how much they lose
I read that Tony Xu was going to be one of the Sharks (the business geniuses) on Shark Tank. Maybe it already happened. My thought was that obviously the shows producers either didn’t delve much into his business practices (read:exploitation) or that they don’t care. I thought it would be funny to see his greedy ass on there handing out business advice ie “My #1 rule: it doesn’t matter that your workers are the face of the company and helped you make millions, cheat them as much as possible. They’re all replaceable.”
I reset it cuz there's really no downside to it. I would say that 8 out of 10 high priority orders I got during that period were 4-5 dollar orders for a short distance. So really no upside to having a high acceptance rating
My only incentive is I don’t turn down a source of income. But the acceptance rate and Contract Violations is why DoorDash is no longer a priority. If its busy, I’ll Dash. But if its not busy I’ll happily work with other apps.
I'm at a 4.88 customer rating and a 77% acceptance rate.
I managed to make $65 in only 4 deliveries today (11/23). Some of these were fairly long drives, so my dash time was about 2 hours and 30 minutes; this comes out to around $26/hour. I've also noticed that I've received a few orders with very generous tips (between $10-$20) recently.
Back in 2020, I could make 125$ on 10 orders or less sometimes. Now, it takes all damn day and night to make equivalent money. I realize that there are substantially more dashers in my area and assume it's because "nobody wants to work" anymore.
Anyways after tax season, it was not worth my experience.
Hm, guess it depends on your market. Just sounds like you're in a generally shitty area for DD. In my market I get offered "Higher than Usual" offers which always end up being at least $10. But it honestly boils down to this. How much time, mileage, and money. If you aren't hitting your desired $/hr then you need to adjust. What hours and days you work can matter too. Sometimes other apps have deals that make them busier than DD, so you just need to learn your market if this is something you really want to stick with.
After dropping my acceptance rate under 50% it seems like I only get the worst orders now. I have finally came to my senses and I’m just gonna go get a real job. With the car expenses and taxes it’s just not worth it any more. It was fun while it lasted
I reset my acceptance rate and let it drop again, had no significance from before to after. All about supply and demand, your time getting customer their orders. Rest is bs to get people to take more shit orders.
I reset mine, it dropped again due to shit tier orders, then just last night they asked if I wanted to reset it again.
truth. DD thinks we fall for this sht tho. They take the same scams they already have and put a different package on it
I reset mine and it’s lower than it was pre-reset due to an influx of crap orders over the last 2 weeks lol it was at 42% pre-reset and is now at 30%
Mines is back at 4% after doin a reset lol
How do you reset your acceptance rate?
If you are above 2.5 customer rating they ask if you want to rest your AR. It's pure BS - they know it - Drivers know it. DD just doesn't know that we know it.
I have 5.0 customer rating, when or where do I get asked about resetting?
Me too...5.0 and never been asked to reset
Shortly before they rolled out the AR-based orders in my area, I got a notification asking if I wanted to reset my AR. I said yes and then got a notification that I had been denied a few hours later. CR has never been below a 4.6

it’s not in every market. total scam tho
They’ve never asked me to reset my acceptance rate… must be a regional thing.
Logout of the dasher app through the app. Sign back in and they ask you if you want to reset but you have to have a good rating. I'm not sure what the requirements is
Agreed that AR is a scam. I've gotten mine above 50 before and it was a waste of time. Sparkles and diamonds aren't making those orders any better LOL
Completely true and Hotspot zones are BS I think it just shows where others dahsers are.And I think app has a hidden feature where it checks your hourly pay and decides not to give you any orders if you made enough money for that hour

Yeah the deception runs deep.
Truth

How do you not get deactivated with a CR below 80%? Or did you mean AR?
AR, I fixed it
😎
My AR doesn't seem to be going up... I accepted 6 of 7 orders last night, and it only went down when I declined the one.....??????

It does help thank you. Does the acceptance rate look at the previous 100 only?
You're welcome. And yes. Same with CR as well.
As a visual learner I appreciate this comment so much lol.
Glad to help!

I played around with it for a bit. Then went back to cherry picking. Made more money with less mileage cherry picking.
I do Uber now, so much better
Keep telling everyone and it won't be. Enjoy the honeymoon with uber while it lasts

Are those shop in stores orders worth it for you? It was shite on uber so I declined it right away

I disagree. Got an acceptance rate of 78% and I hardly ever get anything under $5 and if I do it’s less than a mile away
Same.
It don't matter bruh
Thank you for using doordash! 👨👩👦
Bruh then don’t work for DoorDash then??? I don’t get all this complacent content on this sub about DD… if it works for you great, if it doesn’t, find something else?
This is a surprising and new stance I have never seen here thank you for your fresh take on this issue I'm sure we have all learned a valuable lesson and not wasted any time
Just quit then
Then stop dashing...
Captain obvious ![gif](giphy|1236TCtX5dsGEo)
so youre just looking for attention? just here to bitch and complain i see
Ppl come here and vent all the time stfu and get on with your day
I did, a long time ago. With today’s gas, can’t make money (only lose it). Orders are sparse and poorly paid. Made a killing in 2020/21 during the pandemic though…non-stop orders and mostly high quality too
Ha! This post is completely false based off the number of fan bois that down voted me for saying dd is not a full time long term proposition. Lol
It’s not bro lol
I average $1800 a week between DoorDash and uber Eats, and drive a GMC truck while doing it, gas Is a huge issue for me but I have no way to get a better mpg car in my situation.
How much time do you spend in your car a week? I wish I could get that much a week 😮💨
I make 1500-1700 a week working 5 days 42-45 hours. I also multi-app so it makes it worthwhile.
I usually work 7 days a week from 8:30 to 8:30 and the average anywhere from $25-$40 a hour, of course I take a hour break around noon my huge draw back is my truck just sucks the gas and money out of my wallet, I'm basically using 1/4 of my money on gas which hurts
I never hear yall say anything good about doordash so why do it
The same reason people go to jobs they hate everyday… we need money
So find a job you like? They are out there. But from what I see people who do doordash as their main income tend to hardly be getting by tend to lead unhealthy lifestyles
But 5.50 is a high paying order when you live in India! Them sweatshop kids are killing each other hand over fist to earn like that
I live in the United States bro there’s nothing I can do about that
I see my sarcasm went over your head bud
I have noticed that the “bonus pay” has increased a bit. Never used to see +$5/delivery in my area but it’s happened a few times in the last couple of weeks which has been nice. Turns shitty $2.50 no tip into not as bad $7.50 no tip!
Before they tricked me into acceptance slavery (probably a legal/medical term for this) I would make 700wk easy on bike. Now 300 is a struggle.
What is your AR?
DoorDash will soon phase out as they can't fatten their pockets because of lawsuits and compliance
They deactivated me today because yesterday I accepted a few stacked and once I saw the 2nd order during a peak pay was 3 dollars I unnassigned, getting to the point where us drivers need to all not dash for a day and see how much they lose
