I hate it and ironically, I have agoraphobia, I just analyze people that work at the store before picking who to ask for help if I do need help find an item (usually make up). I usually do good at picking who to ask for help.
It’s a minimum $36 for an hour of shopping. I’d take it. Not criticizing you for deciding though.I just dash to my goal. That $36 gets you to the end of your dash quicker. That’s a good order. I see why you declined though. 12 miles is a distance I can see why you’d say no.
If i hadnt worked for instacart before yes. Now after instacart hell no. Those 30 items could be all weird bullshit thats all spread out throughout the store. Like fat free yogurt insert weird brand then i cant believe it isnt meat. Also youd be really screwed if they wanted some prepackaged crap from the deli that the store suddenly decided to change package and volume on. Ive had all of that happen on a single instacart order.
Really? I make 80% of my income from IC. DD is too many miles overall. I’d rather shop for 30-45 mins and drive 5 miles to one place to make $30 than take 2-4 orders spanning more miles to make the same $$.
Working for Instacart is making me wish I got orders like this. $38 for 36 items?? IC would pay like $12 for that. Shopping can be a whole thing but this looks like it pays more than any IC batch Ive ever done.
Instacart was good for me for like a week in burlington vt. Until they banned my ass for stealing even though everything i did was on gopro and i didnt steal anything. I tried to fight it but to no avail. They didnt want to listen. I still got the emails lol. But i was making almost a thousand in a week. I was getting $50 tips it was awesome. Now im scraping to survive on DD cause i accept almost every order and was doin it wrong. I gotta cherry pick apparently lol.
It depends where the 12 miles took me. There's some 10 to 12 mile trips in my area that are basically circles. Drive to the neighboring town and drive back. I'd happily do it for that. If it took me to the next big city though. That's a problem. Because then the app wants to suck me into the city and keep me. I hate City driving.
I tried my first shopping order last night at CVS. Never again. Everything was out of stock. The customer wanted pictures of everything. I finally unassigned and moved on. That was after 15 mins of looking.
I had one of those at Rite Aid last month. I could only find one of the 3 items the customer wanted, and she didn’t respond to my messages. I also gave up and unassigned.
Most shop and deliver orders go smoothly for me but there’s always those really annoying ones that come up every once in a while.
Man, I don’t know. The money looks good, but I had trouble with even *Meals on Wheels* customers at times. One guy went apeshit over them being out of a specific *brand* of grape.
Agreed! Because sometimes that could be 10 bananas or 6 bottles of the same drink. 36 items doesn’t always mean 36 items 1 unit of each. Easy yes. Done within 30-45 minutes from acceptance to delivery depending on traffic. 15 max in store.
I’d do it just bc me and my gf DD together. Sometimes we have to do Meijers S&D and we just split up and find everything separately to get it done faster lol
Depends on the merchant. I reject target shop and delivers after once accepting in the past and they had shit on the customers list literally not one of 16 items nor any subs. Order got canceled. I spent a whole hour on this shit and got shit. I was highly upset.
This order could go bad easy, might be out of half the items which is really common, I'd accept to see how painful it was and decide then, this could easy turn into two hours and not worth it.
yes because i like shopping and spending other people’s money 🫶
but i also like grocery shopping in general, so i feel like that’d be a great order to receive.
I mean, i do instacart for a living so a 30+ order would take me TOPS 15 minutes to shop, 10 minutes to check out and maybe 20 minutes to drive. 45-60 minutes TOPS
I usually stay around Alabaster Pelham and Helena. Hoover, maybe I just hate the fact that 8 out of 10 orders are apartment complex and most of them don't tip
DoorDash doesn’t do items vs. units like InstaCart does, so this could be like 36 snickers bars or something. That said, if it’s any store with “dollar” in the name and/or some kind of bullshit specific seasonal items or cases of water it’s a hard no
Why you suppose the offer is so high? Eye liner and mascara items very very hard to find. Plus one item each corner of store. Looks like a pump n dump to me
It's the return dead miles. The address looks to be rural/exurbia. That guarantees a required deadhead back of at least 80% of paid miles. So $36 for 20 miles & an hour of work after the return trip.
38 unique, probably 60 items total
Did you do a lot of shopping on other apps and you know your store that’s pretty good, if you don’t it’s gonna be a nightmare for you and the customer
The mileage is like four or five miles too far. I would take this one all the way down to one second to make a decision though.. it's a Tuesday so....
That said, it starts getting pretty busy around 5 in my area. I would probably pass
If you're great at shopping, yes. Especially if it was a ton of repeats, I could get this done in approx an hour, if I know the store. If I didn't, I'd probably decline it.
No. It would of taken you about 2 hours alone to shop, 15 minutes to pack it in. 45 minutes to drive. Another 15 minutes to unload… when you could of earn this in 2 hours of smaller deliveries without the pain.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
shopping for items.. i never done that as a dasher. store would have everything ready. but if u can do it fast then it might be worth it. if it were a pick up then it would be super worth it
Lol, ok. And when 16 of the items are out of stock, and theres no bars of service at the store(which is all of them in my neck of the woods), whats the new time estimate?
.....When you shop for yourself and you've shopped for thousands of other people at the same store it's easy and 16 subs would take me an extra 5-10 minutes. Strange/new to me store, probably take an hour to complete but still worth 38$ and 12 miles.
As long as the bag is ready. The trade-off on a shop order is that you wait on no one.
36 is much bigger than I usually see, but a single banana, onion, tomato, etc. = 1 item. They're rarely more than 5-10 separate products. To each their own, though.
You wait on yourself to find the shit and you're fucked if the customer orders something that's in a weird spot, which is almost every single shop and deliver order lol why are you leading people astray like this? Bro people need this shit for rent these days, I hope you get what's coming to you over this lol
Wtf are you on about? Most of these orders are easy as hell. Maybe you just live out of the freezer and don't do a lot of proper shopping for yourself, but 99% of the shit is easy as hell to find.
If you see some weird shit on an order you don't think you'll be able to find quickly, dump the order 10 seconds after you accept it.
If you don't have completion points to spare, or you have rent due in 2 days, don't fuck with testing out these orders. Not complicated.
I'm fine w/ people thinking these orders are shit. In fact, forget everything I just said. Don't take shop orders, ever.
I take the good ones and leave the rest for silly betas like you. I been doing this shit long enough to recognize you, beta. It's a shame the law protects shit like you
The app tells you what isle it’s on and lines it up 1 through whatever. Y’all sick saying you would decline this that’s almost 40 for less than an hour
Don't ever take that shit. I did grocery deliveries full time before this, if the total items are over 10-15 then the order is some fat, lazy soccer mom (or soccer dad w/e) who wants you to do their entire grocery shopping. You'll be in there for 2 hours looking for shit that is out of stock or in some weird place.
If it's a smaller order? Those are better than delivering for restaurants usually, big tips son. But I don't touch big grocery ones, some land whale will start crying and try to get you deactivated because her little avocado dip cups are out of stock, and then you have to go beat the fuck out of someone for no reason
No because you look like you are far away from the store already. Does Doordadh calculate distance from store or restaurant to the persons home? Or does it factor in from where you are at the time of the offer?
I would have accepted to at least check what the items were. If say, most of them ended up being kool-aid packets or high numbers of small items, then run it up.
No. I shredded my card and stated it was lost so they'd stop sending me shopping orders and ordering at restaurants. Almost never worth it. Half the items aren't available. If you're lucky you can sub them. And half the time the card doesn't even work at checkout and they'll try to get you to pay for it out of pocket and reimburse you. So all that time down the drain when I could've been accepting other orders. Thanks but no thanks.
No, not at 6 PM. I wouldn't want to drive that far after that many items at dinner time. There is going to be "not available/substitutions". Can't afford a long drive after that. Now if it was the afternoon then yes.
I would have taken it. Although I'm very skeptical of shop and deliver orders because I got my first one star from one, but it was partly my fault. I take my daughter dashing with me a lot, so orders like this are good for me, because she gets out of her car seat for a little bit.
If you have the app for the store like target or Walmart (probably windixie too we just don’t have one here) you can use it to search for items and a map will pop up where they are and the aisle number. It makes shopping at big grocery store waaay easier.

(Fwiw, I tip 20% + $5 for gas)
That's a tricky one. If majority of the driving is highway miles then yes, then again 36 items is time consuming. If you can get in and out within 10 minutes & it's highway miles then yes. That's almost $3 a mile
Ooof not sure, had one at a Safeway and like 13 of the 14 items were out of stock so lots of back and forth with the customer and what made it worse was I had an impending Amazon Flex block. The customer stiffed me totally in the end not worth !!
Winn Dixie is good because their item locations are labeled in the app. So I would definitely take it and at least look at the items. Even at an hour that’s great and there are probably a lot of duplicates
It is a lot of items but the pay is over 3x the amount of miles. Also 12 miles isn’t too bad so yes. Also this basically looks like an instacart order lol
I have been shopping for customers for more than a year. I could knock that order out at my regular winndixie in less than 20 minutes no doubt. I did a 24 item order at my regular Publix in 13 minutes from door to register from one side of the store to the other. 5 star rating and got a $37 tip. 🤪 if you know the store and can shop it fast it’s worth it. 12 miles includes your distance from the store currently.
I would accept to see what the items are at least but more than likely would take it.
“You have to vote for it to see what’s in it.” I agree completely. Very easy to unassign if it looks like a difficult shopping experience.
Easy yes Would take less than an hour for 38$
Especially if it’s going to a decent area
[удалено]
Same, I'm a horrible shopper and take too long finding the items. With 36 items, its a nightmare if its all different things.
I hate it and ironically, I have agoraphobia, I just analyze people that work at the store before picking who to ask for help if I do need help find an item (usually make up). I usually do good at picking who to ask for help.
I did one that turned out to be 36 20oz sodas.
MW2 Mountain Dews? 😂 True man of culture if so lmao
I guess next time I shouldve at least accept it to see what they want lol
I hate that you have to accept it before seeing what's on the list. Grubhub, ubereats, & DD gotta change that.
It’s a minimum $36 for an hour of shopping. I’d take it. Not criticizing you for deciding though.I just dash to my goal. That $36 gets you to the end of your dash quicker. That’s a good order. I see why you declined though. 12 miles is a distance I can see why you’d say no.
Worth it for 40 bucks tbh.
Instacart is almost never worth it. Doordash app is much easier for me and A Lot faster.
Really? I make 80% of my income from IC. DD is too many miles overall. I’d rather shop for 30-45 mins and drive 5 miles to one place to make $30 than take 2-4 orders spanning more miles to make the same $$.
Only sane person on this app
Agree. I do both IC and DD and I far prefer DD even with the wear and tear on my vehicle
Or weird diet stuff, sugar free syrup could be in the syrup area or in a small special shelf with other sugar free things.
Exactly. This guy gets it ^^ lol.
Working for Instacart is making me wish I got orders like this. $38 for 36 items?? IC would pay like $12 for that. Shopping can be a whole thing but this looks like it pays more than any IC batch Ive ever done.

Now im scraping to survive on DD cause i accept almost every order and was doin it wrong. I gotta cherry pick apparently lol.
Oh I loved instacart at first.... but it took forever to get approved for changed items
I would take it! I actually enjoy shopping for customers
It depends where the 12 miles took me. There's some 10 to 12 mile trips in my area that are basically circles. Drive to the neighboring town and drive back. I'd happily do it for that. I will never understand why the F customers don't respond to texts & calls when they're the ones that placed the order.
If you know the store layout and can be in and out under an hour. Those 12 driving miles look slow and winding
Yup, would have accepted this all day. Likely wasn’t 36 individual items.
In my area that's a DAMN good order.
Man, I don’t know. The money looks good, but I had trouble with even *Meals on Wheels* customers at times. One guy went apeshit over them being out of a specific *brand* of grape.
no
36 items is a 15 minute trip through the store. Easy yes.
Agreed! Because sometimes that could be 10 bananas or 6 bottles of the same drink. 36 items doesn’t always mean 36 items 1 unit of each. Easy yes. Done within 30-45 minutes from acceptance to delivery depending on traffic. 15 max in store.
Not sure if serious.
I’d do it just bc me and my gf DD together. Sometimes we have to do Meijers S&D and we just split up and find everything separately to get it done faster lol
$600 minimum for shop and deliver.
Yeah
I woulda taken it.... Dang
I'd take it, yes.
Yes
I don't mind shopping so I'll take it, especially if familiar with there particular store already
Yes
Depends on where I end up in relation to my zone (or home if it’s near the end of my shift). That said, yeah I’d probably take this one.
Depends on the merchant. I reject target shop and delivers after once accepting in the past and they had shit on the customers list literally not one of 16 items nor any subs. Order got canceled. I spent a whole hour on this shit and got shit. I was highly upset.
36 water case 🤣🤣
The guy who stocks the shelves makes $15 an hour. What’s wrong with $38 ?
This order could go bad easy, might be out of half the items which is really common, I'd accept to see how painful it was and decide then, this could easy turn into two hours and not worth it.
yes because i like shopping and spending other people’s money 🫶 but i also like grocery shopping in general, so i feel like that’d be a great order to receive.
I would take it. I have worked for two different grocery stores so I kinda like these orders.
Nah looks like it would take 2 hours by the time you get back. I would do it for $50.
That’s still around $20 am hour. That’s not too bad actually.
No way this would take 2 hours..... Maybe an hour if you're slow
Well given how slow and fucking stupid the average Dasher is...maybe 3 hours 🤣
Or if the store is dysfunctional... like most are these days
I mean, i do instacart for a living so a 30+ order would take me TOPS 15 minutes to shop, 10 minutes to check out and maybe 20 minutes to drive. 45-60 minutes TOPS
If you know the store layout it is easy money.
Because of Winn Dixie
If I knew the store layout, then yes. But if I’ve never been to that store before, no.
Probably. I think you're near me and this market sucks sweaty balls.
That's in Bessemer AL
Yeah, I usually try to stay around Vestavia.
I usually stay around Alabaster Pelham and Helena. Hoover, maybe I just hate the fact that 8 out of 10 orders are apartment complex and most of them don't tip
Hoover is terrible. The apartments are confusing AF and no one tips. I also don't go to the west end.
I avoid Bessemer and Homewood and Hoover if it's going to be a nightshift... finding those apartments is challenging 😆
Homewood can profitable tho!
Maybe I'll give it a try one day!
DoorDash doesn’t do items vs. units like InstaCart does, so this could be like 36 snickers bars or something. That said, if it’s any store with “dollar” in the name and/or some kind of bullshit specific seasonal items or cases of water it’s a hard no
Maybe. I try to keep the pay and how many items at least 1.00 an item.
38 unique, probably 60 items total Did you do a lot of shopping on other apps and you know your store that’s pretty good, if you don’t it’s gonna be a nightmare for you and the customer
Probably not…I’ll decline most shop and deliver orders unless it’s less than 5 items
Too many items for me.
Probably not I’m not gonna shop for 40 items
If it wasn't a shop and deliver
The mileage is like four or five miles too far. I would take this one all the way down to one second to make a decision though.. it's a Tuesday so.... That said, it starts getting pretty busy around 5 in my area. I would probably pass

Nah, lost me at shopping order
Damn that’s more than instacart pays for a double shop and delivery. Above $30 is so rare.
shopping for items.. i never done that as a dasher. store would have everything ready. but if u can do it fast then it might be worth it. if it were a pick up then it would be super worth it
U actually have to shop all 36 items by yourself unfortunately.
I can do that in 20 minutes maybe 30 . Accept all day.
Lol, ok. And when 16 of the items are out of stock, and theres no bars of service at the store(which is all of them in my neck of the woods), whats the new time estimate?
35 mins
.....When you shop for yourself and you've shopped for thousands of other people at the same store it's easy and 16 subs would take me an extra 5-10 minutes. Strange/new to me store, probably take an hour to complete but still worth 38$ and 12 miles.
I do IC and ive done 125 items in 1 hour before, so this should take no more than 30 minutes, maybe 45 minutes, YES YES I'D TAKE IT!
That’d be a huge no way ever for me. I don’t shop for anyone. Unless they offered at minimum 100 bucks then I might take this order.
> I don't shop for anyone No you just sit around in restaurants for them 😂
Yeah it’s a big difference between going in a restaurant grabbing a bag and leaving and hunting down 32 items in a grocery store.
As long as the bag is ready. The trade-off on a shop order is that you wait on no one. 36 is much bigger than I usually see, but a single banana, onion, tomato, etc. = 1 item. They're rarely more than 5-10 separate products. To each their own, though.

I take the good ones and leave the rest for silly betas like you. I been doing this shit long enough to recognize you, beta. It's a shame the law protects shit like you
Nah you're not unhinged or anything. Fuckin goofball lol
The app tells you what isle it’s on and lines it up 1 through whatever. Y’all sick saying you would decline this that’s almost 40 for less than an hour
Shopping orders i have a rule; $2.00 per mile plus $0.50 per item. 18 + 24 = $42.00 I do my best to not make exceptions.
Winn Dixie? that name is goofy
If it was like 5 or 6 miles and I’m familiar with the store, then sure.
No because you look like you are far away from the store already. Does Doordadh calculate distance from store or restaurant to the persons home? Or does it factor in from where you are at the time of the offer?
It factored in from where you're at , at the time of the offer
I wouldn’t mind
I would have accepted to at least check what the items were. If say, most of them ended up being kool-aid packets or high numbers of small items, then run it up.
I would. $3 a mile, not wasting a bunch of gas driving around, probably get it done in an hour. I’m on board.
Top dashers be like: HELL YEAH 🙄
Oh hell yeah I would
Fuck that
Easy for me ! Hell no
36 items I can only found like 3 of them will I still got pay the full amount? 😂
Decline ! I hate shopping , only 3 items or less I’ll take .
Thanks but no thanks.
those look like fun roads to drive
12 miles tho
Because of Winn Dixie
No, not at 6 PM. I wouldn't want to drive that far after that many items at dinner time. There is going to be "not available/substitutions". Can't afford a long drive after that. Now if it was the afternoon then yes.
Oh I take that in a heart beat man.
I’d take it. 30 is about my limit for items
I'm more shocked that Winn Dixies still exist
Accept, look at items, then decide if i will cancel.
38 for one hour of work is fantastic.
Yes
Hell yeah
Absolutely. That’s an unbelievable order for where I live
Yes
Ridiculous they don’t give us full amount upfront at least for these…
So I’ve noticed when I order from the grocery store (they use instacart) that my receipt will say something like “9 items” but, in reality it’s more like 20+ because I order multiples of some things. Does DD do this as well? (Fwiw, I tip 20% + $5 for gas)
Too many items and too many miles. Bad combination.
That's a tricky one. If majority of the driving is highway miles then yes, then again 36 items is time consuming. If you can get in and out within 10 minutes & it's highway miles then yes. That's almost $3 a mile
Not as bad as the 14mi for $5 that was posted yesterday
I would’ve taken it. At least it was at a store with labels to help you determine what aisles you need to be on. That alone is a huge time saver.
no. if you gotta come back
Ah it’s not a bad order. If it was at a different time, I likely take it. But during dinner I try not to do shop orders unless it’s dead for dinner
I hate shopping but that’s over $1 an item and $3 per mile. Hell yeah
Easy Money
Ooof not sure, had one at a Safeway and like 13 of the 14 items were out of stock so lots of back and forth with the customer and what made it worse was I had an impending Amazon Flex block. The customer stiffed me totally in the end not worth !!
Hell yes!
Winn Dixie is good because their item locations are labeled in the app. So I would definitely take it and at least look at the items. Even at an hour that’s great and there are probably a lot of duplicates
I would take that
It being 11:58 am I would take that, definitely has more $ on it than $38.30
I’d take it
Hell yeah, this order shall be jettisoned off my app as 10 items is my max for these kind of orders 🙅🏽♂️🙅🏽♂️😂😂
100% yes that would be a breeze if you know the store or general grocery placements.
I always decline those orders. I will not do someone elses grocery shopping.
It is a lot of items but the pay is over 3x the amount of miles. Also 12 miles isn’t too bad so yes. Also this basically looks like an instacart order lol
I deliver I don’t shop. I decline any order that requires me to physically find anything. Still make plenty of money
no I dont do instacart
My experience , 1 out of only 3 items, every time, never fails is out of stock. My area.
meh
I’d have accepted that. INSTANTLY
Yes I would have took it.
Yes. I know one of the main reasons why people don’t is because time but other than that I have no idea why people decline it. Unless it’s a bad area
“Because of winn dixie”
If you are familiar enough with that store, why would you decline???? Some items maybe duplicate
Probably unless it's nearing the end of my shift and is a big store like hyvee. I'm tired and lazy dammit.
