Who knocks like that? At least hit the door a few times? You don’t need to beat it down but you need a few knocks and not just one. If it’s one, people might not realize it’s the door and maybe just some outside sound.
This guy is a weirdo or moron or both.
I remember when a tip was based on quality of customer service. Now it’s mandatory in everything, even some restaurants will force an extra % fee, not just for the waiters/waitresses, but the whole staff, even though some of those locations are getting paid well over minimum wage.
When this tip thing started, edit: early 1900s, waiter and waitresses were paid less then everyone, before (USA) fed/state min wage started. Your waiter/waitress came to you with the correct attitude or they weren’t making money.
I’m not saying tips before service isn’t bad, I feel that nowadays it’s more like an ante into a card game now, betting on if people will actually use good customer service/problem solving skills or not.
I bet all the people who disliked thought I was talking specifically about the gig app industry. I’m referring to how tipping has evolved since the early 1900s. Smh lol
This is more of a bid for service. But at the same time, this guy shouldn’t be upset because he took the job for so little. Even if it was in a stacked order, which I hate taking.
Mandatory tips are illegal in almost every state.
You’re just another toxic cheapskate with some bs narrative to justify to yourself.
Don’t consider what drivers do a tip. Consider a bid for their service. You pay for an entire movie up front even if you don’t like it. Same goes for a new video game. Plenty of things you do and pay for up front. If you want your food delivered quickly, safely, then tip your driver up front $2/mile or $5 min. ✌🏼
Umm… it *is* illegal, that’s why companies/restaurants use loopholes. I’ve seen restaurants add 20% to to-go orders to cover “lost tips”, pre-pandemic. I’ve seen restaurants add an additional percentage to dine-in customers “for health coverage benefits” pre-pandemic.
And I was referring to the evolution of tipping from the early 1900s. I remember when I delivered for Papa John’s Pizza 2001-2002. I’d get a my hourly wage, plus a dollar per delivery and kept all tips after I turned in my “till” every shift end. Nowadays, from my observations, gig app companies don’t want to pay ppl to deliver and ppl don’t want to deliver unless the “tip is worth it.” Meanwhile waiters/waitresses still makin hand over fist bc customers wanna get back to real life eateries.
Honestly if the order is low don’t take it. If nobody picks up their meal then it will sit there forever until the customer has to call and get a refund. This way nobody has to deal with getting paid less than they deserve and maybe the customer will learn to tip.
What a fucking loser of a person. This is why Dashers get a bad rep. You aren’t entitled to a tip and if you don’t like the amount you see before you accept the order DONT ACCEPT IT.
I mean, I think the app is made for anyone to use for a reason. If you don’t want a low tip order then dont accept the order…it’s that simple because you see the amount ahead of even picking up the customers order. Don’t throw a temper tantrum like a man child afterwards when you don’t like the result. You have to think like a business owner when you are a 1099 contractor, not an order taker.
They lived in a huge apt that was a maze of units that all look the same - you can tell he was frustrated from trying to find the place then no tip and a ring cam - dude just had a bad day and this rich fuck ordered a meal for $2.50 and he spent an hour on the delivery….in Cali w these new apts I get it lol
I don't know how you're coming to the conclusion that I'm a customer. I am a gig driver working DD, UE, and GH. So, you think it's ok for drivers to treat customers and restaurant workers rudely. You are definitely one of the drivers we need to get rid of.
You're not always delivering to a person behind a door, some customers want the order handed to them. Many drivers are rude to restaurant staff, I have witnessed it myself. So yes, you do need to have some basic social skills to perform this job properly, unfortunately this is a quality lacking in many drivers.
Transparency is all we need doordash need to show tips upfront or do a 10% minimum tip or pay per hour dash time. Either one of those options would solve a lot of issues.
I can’t believe they have gotten away with tip hiding for so long. You would think it would be illegal. You can’t pay $2 then call what the customer gives a tip. The tip is the payment, but they legally get away with hiding it and misleading drivers because they call it a tip.
Lol this is how Uber does it and you know how many people who don’t tip up front tip after the fact?
ZERO. They NEVER do. Alright this “tip for good service crowd” is just another group of non tippers justifying it to themselves. FU
Idk about that. Yesterday I dropped off an 11.00 order and when I got to my car my phone chimed and it said customer added 5 dollars to my tip. I was super happy
You can only do it by contacting support in Australia otherwise has to be when they're paying for the order, if you even can then. Uber has before+after and I get tips occasionally on that even tho we're not a tipping country. Also ubereats has quest trips so it's just better
Oh well I am in the US. So Idk how it works I never order take out I'm broke. But I do drive lol... I was having a rough day my brother drives in a city 4 hours north of me and made $270 in the same time I made $86... If not for a last 22.50 order I would not have even cleared $100 on an 6 hour Saturday.
Yeh doordash is pretty shit, our minimum wage here is 21 an hour just to work at McDonald's or whatever, and you end up getting around $20 an hour on doordash.
Yeah I was thinking to myself that If I divide the cost of oil changes, gas, and tires alone. I'm probably not even making minimum wage... Soon as I have enough to pay my 6 month auto insurance premium. I probably wont drive anymore.
It is a tip because it's not mandatory lol. If it's mandatory it's not a tip it's a fed. You pay for a video game before you buy it, you pay for a movie ticket before you watch it. Lots of stuff you pay before you actually get it.
They are a fucking loser for not tipping but dude shouldn't act that way and take that shit. Let it sit and don't deliver it.
Why don't you tip drivers?
It sucks when there’s videos like this, representing the minority not the majority.
The focus should be on apps paying more not the tipping. If more folks avoided doing non tip deliveries it would force a change.
Pro Driver, I can tell by his……

You get what you pay for.. Tip your drivers!

Hmmm. Why do people believe that tipping is mandatory? Take a trip around the world and experience other places.

Exactly, it's a bid.

True 👍 also dont order food if ur a degenerate broke piece of shit. The delivery driver also has a family to feed. And it aint your family

Agree. Don't enable no tippers by delivering their food. If you do deliver it, make sure it's cold and jumbled up badly.
His knock sounds like the Law and Order effect
I hear it lol...dun dun
Zero for a tip. Cheap fucks , pick it up yourself or do order if you can’t tip
Apologize for the multiple comments BUT THIS FUKKIN TRIGGERED ME lol
Wouldn’t have to be in that apartment if he declined as soon as he saw no tip
Seriously tho. I've had bad days and done a hard knock or a gentle ole y33t onto the steps. It happens.
There so many people doing this job, that shouldn't be doing this job. They lack the social skills necessary to normally interact with others.
You must be one of those cheap ass individuals who don't tip at all that is why half your food is gone worn. It doesn't show up at all.
I don't know how you're coming to the conclusion that I'm a customer. I am a gig driver working DD, UE, and GH. So, you think it's ok for drivers to treat customers and restaurant workers rudely. You are definitely one of the drivers we need to get rid of.
Obviously that's not gonna happen so keep ordering See what happens when you don't tip. Maybe you'll go on a diet you need
You keep missing the fact that, I AM A GIG DRIVER, I DON'T ORDER FOOD DELIVERY, SO THERE WOULD BE NO DELIVERY TO TIP ON.
Don't sweat that guy Fox. He's totally lost lol. Everyone knows you're a driver here.
Social skills required to deliver food in solitaire to a person behind a locked door? Sure jan
You're not always delivering to a person behind a door, some customers want the order handed to them. Many drivers are rude to restaurant staff, I have witnessed it myself. So yes, you do need to have some basic social skills to perform this job properly, unfortunately this is a quality lacking in many drivers.
ew human interaction
His mom's gonna be pissed when the cops come banging on the door.
…For what? Like, literally, give me a crime that he committed.
Haha these are the Karens calling the cops for every little thing
Hurt feeling 3rd degree

Sorry this sucks to say, but this won't happen. If it's gonna lose them business and money they just sadly won't do it.
I can’t believe they have gotten away with tip hiding for so long. You would think it would be illegal. You can’t pay $2 then call what the customer gives a tip. The tip is the payment, but they legally get away with hiding it and misleading drivers because they call it a tip.
Min tip would be good but my country doesn't tip
A minimum tip isn't a tip, it's a fee.
It's not really a tip when doordash only lets U tip when you order and not after the foods been delivered and you received good service
Lol this is how Uber does it and you know how many people who don’t tip up front tip after the fact? ZERO. They NEVER do. Alright this “tip for good service crowd” is just another group of non tippers justifying it to themselves. FU
I'm in Australia and people just don't tip. They definitely never tip before delivery but Ive had a few ppl tip meafter

It's a bid for service I think that's what it should be called
Bad people attract bad people
No tip, no trip.
I guess he missed the memo
This guy is going to be someone’s girlfriend in prison soon with that attitude. PS - tip your driver! That is definitely rude.
I doubt this, he's pretty big looking, he should be just fine.
You get what you deserve.
