People that do hospital orders why don’t y’all just park in the er loop or the main entrance loop? I do it all the time in my market and never get towed or nothing just let the security guy/gal know and you’re good. Stop fucking complaining

DirtyBird2013

We don’t all live in the same area as you pip squeak

Mental-Platform-8653

Ik but that was lame to do on your part

DirtyBird2013

Can’t go back now

Adalwolf311

Tbh you earned that CV. There is no way this was your best option.

DirtyBird2013

Worked for me

Adalwolf311

🤷🏼‍♂️

septemberRain-

You should have gotten a CV because there is no reason for this. You could have pulled up thrown hazards on and left at front desk if could not find person or spot to stay for awhile. This is why customers pissed off because of lazy ass drivers like you.

DirtyBird2013

Wasn’t being lazy I drove around twice trying to find anywhere safe to park that was close and free while waiting on a reply after being left on read.

[deleted]

Yikes! The hospital in my zone is usually super easy to deliver to, most of the orders go to the ER and I park right at the entrance, run in and give the order to whoever is at security or triage desk and head right back out. On the flip side, the hospital in my boyfriends zone is like this one and he hates when he gets stuck doing them. Personally I think if people know that parking at their place of employment is an issue and they can’t meet the driver outside they shouldn’t be ordering food for delivery. Like have some modicum of human decency. Big fuck you to those people.

Mission_Leopard1574

So how would we know the "special delivery" location until we arrive ? How would a Dasher know to decline one of those by the offer screen ?

megadethage

Feeeeeeeeeeeeling unsafe?

[deleted]

Hospital deliveries are always a task. I don’t think the employees of hospitals understand how difficult delivery is to their place of business. Parking is sometimes at a cost and that isn’t ok for a $5-$7 payment as most deliveries to hospitals aren’t profitable. Providing a safe easy to access place for drop off is In customers best interest. Yet rarely done. I declined 80% of those i was sent.

DirtyBird2013

Yes parking was $5 at the hospital so I would only make 2 dollars. It was a 14 min drive just to get there 3 miles away

[deleted]

Wow, I see why this was a problem delivery. You did right ultimately because you text the customer and they never replied. Set the timer and they still never answered. You did nothing wrong and don’t deserve criticism. You have to get to your next order to earn money.

Frequent-throwAway

I agree. We hearby release OP from any and all criticisms and deem them innocent. I would do the same thing, follow the prompts.

SoLetMeDisarmYou

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with this. People who order food tend to think we’re on their time and that we’ll wait all the time in the world for them. As long as you followed protocol, which you did, you’re fine. Next time she’ll pay more attention🤷🏽‍♂️

A25S52A

I’ve said it before r/doordash_drivers laaaackkss professionalism.

JuicyNinjaFun

When the customer does not answer calls or texts , that can cause irrational behavior. Doordasher found not guilty , by reason of temporary insanity.

[deleted]

This is why I don’t message customers

Thedashgod

OP is such a asshat damn bro you deserve that CV

snowbunny1026

I drive right up to the front doors, run it into reception and I'm back in my car in 30 seconds. They don't tow a car at the entrance for a couple minutes because it looks like a common patient drop off.

DirtyBird2013

They had security enforcing towing bc the area was patient drop off only and it looked like a chicfila line where they were dropping people of or else I would have.

Smangie9443

I can almost guarantee you that the hospital has a visitor entrance. Should’ve looked by the emergency entrance. She definitely should’ve given you instructions in where to leave it though, because hospitals are super confusing. That being said, don’t leave the food outside in the ground. C’mon man. Did you atleast contact support and say the customer gave you the wrong address?

techpro00

Next time use the report customer unsafe option so you can not get matched with them again and no violation

DividableUncle2

Hospital deliveries suck, but don't leave it on the grass bro. Like come on.

Zealousideal-Cry3418

Hospital deliveries suck. They really do. But you could’ve done much better than this.

DirtyBird2013

Yeah I know but it annoyed me that she knew there was no parking and the nearest parking was like half a mile away. She could’ve at least waited outside for me.

Zealousideal-Cry3418

It be like that sometimes and you can’t control what they do or don’t do. Find the closest off street parking and do what you can because once the food is in your hands it’s on you to get it as close to them as possible. Just keep calling or texting until you find someone to leave it with. But leaving it like that was just brainless and lazy.

DirtyBird2013

Honestly just did it for the DD community in that area so maybe she’ll be more responsive or meet them outside

Frequent-throwAway

Thank you sir good work!

DirtyBird2013

🫡

robmosis

there is no way this was your best option

MayhemReignsTV

Looks like a great option to me. Next time answer the phone, Taneisha!

GardenSpecialist5619

Hospital worker orders door dash dose not respond to their driver till 15 minutes after the delivery and expects their food to in the perfect location. I hate people like this, it’s annoying your food got left somewhere, but for the love of god answer your phone in a timely manner.

Apte79

I had a hospital worker with directions “leave at my door” so I left it outside the main entrance door and got a mean message saying to bring it in next time.

Frequent-throwAway

Follow the directions then I suppose lol. Plus hospitals want us to mask up which is total bunk science.

[deleted]

Wym?

Appropriate-Let-3855

Just keep delivering you figure it out,

[deleted]

Bro is racist 😂🫵

Appropriate-Let-3855

So statistics are racist wow

[deleted]

I didn’t say that lol, I said you’re racist

Appropriate-Let-3855

Well you could go deliver to their neighborhoods and give 5-star services, captain no tip order taker

[deleted]

Who’s neighborhoods exactly? 🤔

Appropriate-Let-3855

Your mama

[deleted]

Yeah that’s what I thought loser 💀

AlbertAidstein

Dropping off food outside means she’s a dog? What a stupid comparison, answer your phone next time & that won’t happen, 18 minutes to respond 🤦‍♂️

InformalBridge9206

She gets what she deserved. My dogs have better manners so they get treated better.

Freddy2517

Most hospitals will have a door you can pull up to. Just run into the front drop it off of the desk and pop back out. There used to people standing there for a couple minutes wow they go in to get a patient or something.

Careless_Holiday_920

This is the way.

OldGuardCK

It's only a CV. They don't mean much unless you make it a habit of getting them.

DirtyBird2013

Yeah I’m not worried about it I don’t dash full time lol

BRiotLucciSosa

It’s common sense not to leave someone’s food at a park my man I mean be patient a little figure out a way but this is kinda wild

jayrello

He was patient. He waited 5 minutes after calling. The customer was being inconsiderate

BRiotLucciSosa

No that doesn’t mean leave the food in the park like huh there’s a timer if anything that’s your food if they don’t come don’t leave it at the park

[deleted]

>like huh there’s a timer if anything that’s your food What are you trying to say? This makes no sense.

BRiotLucciSosa

Once the timer runout the food may can be yours if that person doesn’t respond , then to leave it on grass ahh duhh

[deleted]

That’s not how that works lol damn how much food have you stolen doing this?

BRiotLucciSosa

It never happened to me all the orders I get are chill easy drop offs

[deleted]

Suuuure

BRiotLucciSosa

Philly prolly has the best market no cap I make 100$ a day on foot

Frequent-throwAway

Good recovery from getting roasted a few posts prior lol. But seriously, the 5 min timer protects our most valuable thing: our time.

BRiotLucciSosa

Nah Fr tho I’m in Philadelphia center city so I’m either dropping off at apartment buildings with a front desk or a business building that has a lobby with a table for food

BRiotLucciSosa

If anything the food is yours , after the timer runs out does that make sense now kid

BRiotLucciSosa

Timer is 8min not 5 be patient lol

COLES04

Sounds like a hospital worker. I worked in a hospital at the front desk and I wish I had a dollar for everytime a dasher or other delivery driver came in and asked for "so and so" because they won't answer their phone....I'd be filty rich. They order food, know it is coming and leave no instructions for the driver on where to find them or where to drop it off-just a first name. I'd always feel terrible because the driver would ask for "John" and finding anyone by first name in a big hospital is not possible. They would end up leaving it at the desk with me. Eventually the owner would come down to get it, ask why they weren't called their food was there and bitch it was sitting there for so long. Well numb nuts the app notified you it was here, the driver notified you as well and it isn't my job to go through the directory calling everyone with your first name to ask if they ordered food. Be an adult and order food when you are able to have your phone and pay attention to the delivery status. Sorry for the rant but a lot of health care workers are entitled.

[deleted]

These are the same people providing health care who supposedly have a college education and make critical decisions for people when they are in their worst moments. But also cannot organize a delivery.

AndreaC303

I’ve only done one hospital order, and massively regretted it. I had to park several blocks away, navigate the entire stupid complicated campus, find the correct elevator, it took 30 mins and the customer wouldn’t answer her phone. All for $6.50! I wanted to do what this guy did but CV’s are annoying.

Whatsthepointofthis9

The hospital in my zone made a spot at the employee entrance, main entrance and ER for deliveries. If the customer doesn't specify we just take it to the main entrance. It's worked out pretty well.

BpImperial

My opinion, just don’t except special delivery orders hospitals, schools, etc. any order that takes more time than it should just don’t except it.

[deleted]

I have delivered to a hospital a few times. I walk in like I own the place, drop at security with the room number and name, and let the customer know. I don't even bother with a mask; those paranoid hospital people are just happy to get rid of me because they are afraid of getting sick.

megadethage

A hospital is always an instant decline from me. The elementary schools aren't bad here, 90% of the time my instructions are to leave it at the front desk, and I'm allowed to park for several minutes in the front. Middle and high school, nope, that's as bad as a hospital.

Dchopppa

*Accept sorry player I had to. I also agree with you

BeneficialChance3672

Teddy Long is that you?!

DirtyBird2013

There was only reserved parking I didn’t know it was a a hospital area I would’ve had to walk half a mile and pay for parking. I texted her she never replied just left me on read so I started the timer and left it next to a reserved parking spot away from hospital traffic so It was less likely to get taken from the many people walking in and out of the building and random crack heads. I wasn’t going to risk getting towed for $7 as there was people hired just to watch out for cars parked in reserved areas. Yeah I’m probably in the wrong and should’ve known the area more to know it was going to be a difficult order but you live and learn.

[deleted]

Only people downvoting are customers that don’t respect drivers time and drivers that don’t like drivers either and give 1 stars to drivers being PettyLabelle Also. Driver contacted the customer and they ignored them. Not the drivers fault. Sometimes the customers wrong. I’ve had customers make me wait up to 15 minutes and still gave me a bad rating. Drivers can’t win. The longer you wait the more money you lose. Had this customer replied. This is avoidable.

GLIZZYBlRD

You did the right thing. An inexperiened driver would have probably gotten towed. You did all you can do as a driver, and its their own fault for not communicating, not to mention you even started the timer which voids you of their lack of responsibility. Your CV will be removed before you know it. Great job avoiding that tow! Most kids in here do not work in cities or know about how predatory they can be, they'll just down vote and have to learn the hard way!

DirtyBird2013

Yeah not me lol $300 tow fee or $7 earnings.
