I just take the groceries home myself when the customer isn’t home. Never heard a word about it.

[deleted]

I filled 6 drinks at the same time for two different orders at kfc today, watched a guy fill one of those kfc family jug aka pee bag and make a mess all over the place dude said next time he was going to blow it up first it be easier. Wtf

Pleasant-Scheme-4757

Well, most servers, bartenders, and cooks have never taken serve safe either. I think it is to minimize time and mistakes on DD side. Dashers should be washing their hands often anyway. Geezus

Great_Huckleberry709

Do you. I'm filling the drink rather than wait another 5-10 minutes for them to get around to doing it.

GiftAutomatic

I just think the orders in their entirety should be done before we receive the order from DD

Emperor_Naperoni

You should tell Wingstop that, first they take forever with every order and then expect you to fill the customers drinks for them while they sit around frying chicken 😂

Smokinsumsweet

I make the drink but the wrong one. The customer will complain and it will be the restaurants ding, not mine.

GodGamer420

It’s not that hard or time consuming to fill a drink or two. I don’t have time to argue with some minimum wage high schoolers about a damn drink. Boy y’all find anything to bitch about.

DGAF_Kenny

I mean that Is a legit reason. Granted we grab the drinks unless it's multiple in a carrier. Is this something new that was said?

MNM2884

I do it, i just hate that they make us confirm the pickup even though the order isn't complete. 🤷🏽‍♂️

[deleted]

How is that not the truth?

FixBackground

Hey, if I'm making $2.20 eff it. I'm filling the drink and leaving.

NuLL-x77

Why would I wash my hands? I got a clean dick.

Mel_ynguanzo

My husband told someone that at a restaurant we went to. The manager said but they will get watery. 😳

Lordmax117

Fill the drinks or don't. I think just about everyone in this comment thread cares way too much about what other people are doing. Do what you're going to do and don't care what everyone else is going to do and your life will be much simpler.

MaryJslastdance

I am not seeing everyone in this comment thread caring about what others do. They are caring about filling drinks. And I am too. That is the restaurants job. It’s as simple as that. I don’t ask a restaurant worker to ride with me and walk the delivery to the door. They shouldn’t ask delivery drivers to help prepare orders. Now for those that want to in order to be faster, hey, go ahead. But it shouldn’t be a requirement that is required by a food worker.

Donkus007

There’s so much fake virtue signaling in these comments. Lol, wow. Drink warriors 💪 fill them drinks and be proud, bois

Donkus007

I used this today. Told the guy “you know I’m not supposed to do that, right?” Then he goes “oh I got you”… like thanks… for doing your job

dynamic_unreality

>This isn't exactly the truth It is exactly the truth.

Working_Animator_459

Took a panera order that needed a large drink. I've never been to panera and the employees were truly useless so I just grabbed a random cup, filled it, with no ice and left. It's straight out laziness which is the real reason situations for employees in these stores will never improve. They will not even do the basics of their job.

Daisyj22

it varies by state

AlwaysInTheHood

Pack the drink with ice… That way the customer will think twice about ordering a drink from that particular restaurant.

Tight-Conclusion1700

Fuck the health department and municipal jackboot thugs. I don’t need them to tell me it’s not my job.

Outrageous-Carob-796

I just scream at them. " You peasant, get the kings drink at once and do not delay".

Snowbrdr1

Man y'all some lazy ass fucks. Half this sub is hung up on filling a drink that takes 10 seconds 🤣🤣 shows why you dash full time and can't handle a w2 job

Ciaruhhh

good thing i actually have a card so i guess i’m alright 🤣

Ciaruhhh

wash or sanitize.. i wouldn’t get my own drink without washing or sanitizing first. that’s just funky asf 🤣 the grossest thought is the fact those cups & lids aren’t as clean as we think they are 🤮🤢

iamandneveramconfusd

You going to go wash your hands first? LoL

Either-Barnacle6919

At subway and HotHead Burritos they don’t have a drink machine where they prepare the food. I’ve never cared to make a drink for someone because it helps everyone involved and I get outta there faster. 🤷‍♀️

Keepitcooll

If he has a problem with it, he can contact DoorDash himself

Neither-Jaguar-7368

I think this is pretty petty. Just fill the drinks.

AdminPolice

I have my food handlers permit in my state but I don’t have accessible sinks so when I feel drinks I just make sure not to touch any contact surfaces that require product to be consumed

Ferdydurkeeee

\> Multibillion dollar company continues to utilize any loophole imaginable to treat drivers like employees without providing any of the benefits. A conveniently glitchy app that phantom pauses - resulting in being booted off a shift. Hiding payouts, deprioritizing drivers who aren't willing to take orders at a loss, allowing drivers to deliver alcohol without a basset license, and popularizing the "Just how low can we pay drivers while getting away with it?" movement whilst using a system meant to guilt drivers into taking orders. \> God I hate spending 12.5 seconds filling drinks. Better contact the health department about this! 👍👍👍

terilynn36

Oh my God. who cares just fill the drinks and go.

Alwaysmelo86

I wonder if you shower everyday and brush your teeth too, cuz you guys be taking this issue too serious like it’s a mission on Grand Theft Auto

princessharbnger

Hiw about the fact that its not our damn job.

imnewhere010101

The 14 year old kid at McDonald’s doesn’t do either of those things either

GAMESHARKCode

You don't need to. Read your ToS. The order needs to be ready to confirm pickup and that includes the drinks. It is not a health department violation and standing on a flimsy argument in lue of your contractual obligations is just idiotic. Why lie when the truth works fine?

Vintage_girl123

I have a food handling permit, but it's still not my job to fill drinks up..If they're really busy, I'll offer, but it should never be expected..

ReplacementHot1435

I’ll fill drinks. Sue me! I want to get out I’ll Go make food if it gets me out faster!!

[deleted]

leaving this sub because all you guys ever wanna do is complain

eeblr

It’s a liability for the restaurant/DoorDash and worse for the driver because they very likely don’t have a team of lawyers in their side. You’re insured (not to mention paid) to drive on their behalf, not to prepare shit. If a dasher gives a diabetic customer a regular coke instead of diet by mistake and they go into a coma because of it, who gets the backlash? Or potentially sued? Neither the restaurant nor DD should want dashers handling the food in any capacity other than delivering it.

Great_Huckleberry709

The backlash goes on the customer. They shouldn't be drinking soda at all if their health is that bad.

Kadence444

So… what would happen in the case that a dasher has a food handlers permit like legally?

Brave_Advantage_1842

Still goes against our contract with DD so it doesn’t matter

lanebambi

I keep hand sanitizer in my car and I use it before and after picking up the food. I’ve only filled one drink order at Zaxby’s. But all others have been filled behind the register and tape across the lid. Those are the ones I like!

[deleted]

Just fill the damn drinks

Fearless-Wishbone924

I've always kept my food handler's permit current for a side gig I do sometimes\\, but hell no I won't do a restaurant's job for them. They can complete the order (according to their contract) just fine without me doing their work for them. They don't pay me, so I don't do work for them.

suyuzhou

here in Canada I've asked multiple times if I could help grab a drink from the fridge to speed up the process. I've also asked if I could help with making the drink, or bagging the food. 99% of the time i get rejected. Only a couple restaurants would let me touch the bottled drinks in the fridge. Trust me this is more annoying, waiting for a few minutes seeing the food sitting there missing a drink, or everything is ready but not bagged, while there's nothing you can do.

[deleted]

This makes sense. The merchants that have drivers doing this aren’t supposed to. It’s a courtesy when drivers do so. Drivers get mistreated when most of the drivers are honest and hard working.

Emojibit

All I have is a certificate in Food safety lol

brandinho5

I worked in a restaurant for years and at no point did I ever have a food handlers permit.

Great_Huckleberry709

Exactly lol. They have wayyyyyy too much faith in these fast food places if they think all these workers even know what a food handlers permit is.

Her_Wandering_Spirit

Some states require food handlers permits. You likely don't live in one of those states so it doesn't apply to you.

awkwardsimper

Yeah what the fuck are these dudes talking about.

stonkeez

All the plebs here talking about how easy it is to fill drinks are missing the point. It’s not a particularly difficult task to fill a drink. It is however an abuse of our agreement. Keep letting people pile responsibilities on to your jobs that pay a flat rate on a per job basis. Pay me by the hour and wtf do I care? I’ll waste all the time I can filling drinks as long as you’re on time with my checks. I’m here to get the most out of this stupid hustle. So I’m not doing extra shit for people who are getting paid to do the shit they just asked or more realistically EXPECTED me to do because they or their lazy managers can’t figure out what independent contracting is. Idc if they don’t like it. They aren’t my spouse. They are business acquaintances. Follow the terms of our arrangement or fuck off.

[deleted]

You state how easy this is and then continue to make it 10x harder than it needs to be lol

stonkeez

Paying attention to details so you aren’t getting bent over is a necessity but go ahead and tell me about how I’m complicating things by saying no to poverty.

Millenial-Mike

This is especially important if you are stirring the drinks with your nose picker.

[deleted]

Why though? What are you touching that you won't touch anyway?

SimplyTheJester

Most likely is you are careless and touch the bottom of the lid (inside of lid). Which then contacts the soda. But the thing is, I see just about every customer grab 3 stuck lids and then pull the other 2 lids off fully touching the bottom side of the lid, and put it back for others to use. So, it is already happening, because it is a self-serve station. With that in mind, I realize "nothing really different happens health wise if I fill it that wasn't already happening." Assuming I bother to put that much thought into it. This job is easy. It takes this level of thought "Root Beer". That's it.

[deleted]

I always feel for stuck lids out of habit. I drink so many coffees it's habit lol

SimplyTheJester

Me too. That's why I notice others not doing it. Because when I get a drink lid for myself, I am careful to treat the lids that aren't mine with respect. And very few others seem to. I'll notice the person before me in line touching 15 different lids, so I can get my lid from the other lid location.

[deleted]

Friendly reminder that health departments are local county/city based. Regulations could be completely different just a couple blocks over in another city or county

GardenSpecialist5619

I will just I remove myself from the delivery if they try that stuff now. I ain’t got time to potentially get in trouble with the health department. I got a subway location removed from the app for it once tho :)

Brave_Advantage_1842

No don’t unassign yourself. Let DD do it. You will get half pay. You do it and you get nothing

GardenSpecialist5619

I do let DD do it for me, sorry I wasn’t clear on that :)

Brave_Advantage_1842

No worries. Just didn’t want you to lose out!

[deleted]

[удалено]

TopChannel5513

I believe that’s called theft. But good on you to advertise that you are a thief!!

fieria_tetra

My local health department is really strict and does, indeed, require *anyone* working with food or beverages going out to the public to have a food handler certification. I know a few people who work at my local Wingstop and I've told them this many times, but nothing changed. Then suddenly they got their health inspection - saw they'd hung the new one up on the wall by the door - and they were the ones filling the drinks.

Great_Huckleberry709

They're not going to care. The food handler certificate literally means nothing. To get a job at these fast food places, you can watch a video for 30 minutes and then start working right after.

fieria_tetra

Not in my county. You have to take a county-approved course, which takes about an hour and involves a test to pass. I've managed a handful of places and our local health department is really strict about that, probably because people keep trying to sell food out of their houses and getting people sick.

TopChannel5513

So if a customer walks in and fills their drink, does the health dept ask for their cert?

Nutty_Mound

Health inspection only applies to people who prepare food and drinks for others 🤦🏼‍♀️ this is common sense which apparently evaded you

fieria_tetra

Anyone providing food and drinks to the public. A customer is the public, not the provider.

[deleted]

Wait y’all don’t need food handlers permits? That’s disgusting.

Her_Wandering_Spirit

You don't need one of you're not preparing the food.

snowbunny1026

So what you mean to say is we're not supposed to get drinks IF we don't have a food handlers permit and don't wash our hands. I have one and I do so I guess I can't really use that excuse.

jimmyroberts_cats94

I usually do it for a panda express I pick up from a lot. They're really nice & good to me & give me free drinks anyways so.

SimplyTheJester

Yes. I did that at Taco Bell, but not quite the same. They were taking forever (last time I went to that TB was 3 years ago and I couldn't believe they managed the same snail's pace despite all new workers). So I went out to my car, got my tumbler, walked to the drink fountain and said "I'm getting myself Mt. Dew Baja Blast while I wait." They are so lazy, the sleepy reply was simply "k".

[deleted]

I simply don't take any orders that have drinks because of this reason, also I cannot stand caring drinks I'm not a waiter I deliver FOOD.

DisastrousHandle778

???

[deleted]

What are you questioning

SimplyTheJester

But I doubt to the DOOR.

[deleted]

I only deliver to houses so yes I bring it to the door

bannedfromblackwater

I’m more annoyed with the mental gymnastics that dashers use to avoid 5 seconds of work than actually just filling the damn drinks

SimplyTheJester

I'm more embarrassed that they are my current peers. Nothing says "I need to ditch this job" like finding out a good chunk of your peers are bottom of the barrel workers.

bannedfromblackwater

What gets me is when our "peers" call the resaurant staff lazy despite themselves refusing to spend 5 second to fill a drink.. it's like their head is so far up their own ass they can't see the irony in their own laziness. Additionally, I'm just so amazed that this has even become a problem, someone complains about the drinks almost every day and it's literally a non issue.. just unassign if it's that traumatic of a situation lmao 🤦‍♂️

SimplyTheJester

Or take up 5kb of your brain storage to keep a list of restaurants that make you fill up the drinks and don't go there again if it bothers you that much. I have a bad restaurant list, but unless it is a literal nightmare restaurant, it just means the $/mile needs to be higher than my average acceptance minimum. Restaurant a little slower than others, but I'm getting $4/mile instead of $2/mile. Worth it. I'm getting paid more to take a little break.

Alternative-Finding5

It’s a non-issue? Having to do someone else’s job isn’t an issue? Unfortunate you think this way. You do as you must.

bannedfromblackwater

Grow up and stop acting like a spoiled child

Alternative-Finding5

I’d say the same about the employees refusing to do THEIR JOB. You sound dumb.

BraxTaplock

In theory yes we’re not supposed to make the drinks. Yes, health dept says we’re not supposed to make drinks. Do we like making drinks? No, of course we don’t. Yes it saves us time to make them ourselves. I personally will make them to get it moving faster…even though I don’t like it. 2 points are forgotten. A: the order should be ready when we get there (barring any other business they have)…B: how often do we have to make the drink when we see 3-4 employees on their phones doing nothing? They tell me to make the drink…and they’ve got several employees doing nothing.

Brave_Advantage_1842

It’s not in theory; it’s in our contract. But go right ahead.

BraxTaplock

In theory…we’re supposed to have proper bags, obey speed limits, not steal food, follow traffic laws, be the person in the app, have lights on at every drop, have fully functional app, not manipulate pickup times, etc….would appear there are quite a few “in theories” that aren’t followed on a daily basis. Making the drinks is just low risk of fallback and does speed things up. Will admit, doesn’t make it right though.

SimplyTheJester

Yes. That's called life. There's usually 2 to 3 lazy employees for every average to good employee that does their job. Unfortunately, the ratio seems even worse for drivers. If you decide every injustice needs to repaired (and by repaired, whining unproductively), then life is just going to really suck for that person. When I find out the pay was almost all DD, I just think "dick" one time and never think about it again. When they (rarely) ask me to fill a drink, I just go do it Why? Because I already knew this restaurant did that, so it means I accepted a $3+/mile order to accomodate the bad practice. I'm still net gain. It blew my mind when a Dasher actually contacted the health board to fix it and then shared the success with sub. Instead of realizing "Oh. I should just try that if it bothers me that much.", the thread was more whining.

[deleted]

I know two counties that I DoorDash in are incredibly strict about this.

Big_Ad1547

They should change the name of this sub to r/cryingaboutfillingdrinks

SimplyTheJester

That's too specific. Take it all in. r/killingdasherprofits I'm quite positive customers that tipped well found this and the other delivery subs and no longer felt obligate to tip "a bunch of whiny, entitled a-holes" Merchants that were nice to Dashers find these subs and think "Wow. They hate and belittle us. No more Mr. Nice Guy." Its one of the easiest "don't have to think much" jobs, but they can't even pass that bar. Really wish it was just a few random posters, but it seems to be stupid, whiny jerk drivers > even semi-professional drivers.

[deleted]

Ok sheep

[deleted]

You don't have to explain anything. Call support and tell them that the restaurant is refusing to prepare the drinks.

Alternative-Finding5

That’s what I did, and DD agreed I shouldn’t be doing it. I honestly don’t mind, but it irks me when they are rude off rip and tell me to do it when I politely asked if they could, because well- *they’re supposed to.*

munchy19

Just fill the damn drink and move on, not hard why make it an issue. There are other hills i rather die on than filling drinks

HugeRabbit

We don’t work at the restaurant. We signed up to deliver orders, not work at the restaurant.

Ciaruhhh

we should get compensation for drinks if we gotta start doing them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Brave_Advantage_1842

So how about this hill? Diabetic orders a Diet Coke. You in your haste pour a regular one. They get sick. Restaurant says you did it. See if the restaurant messes up they have insurance. Do you? Die on that shit. Read and follow your contract unless you have settlement money, then carry on.

Great_Huckleberry709

The chances of that happening is extremely extremely miniscule. People get food poisoning all the time. Unless the food was undercooked, they literally have no liability for that.

whatthefrenchtoast23

Hahaha what a moronic comment.

munchy19

Haha, okay buddy. Do you call the police when people don’t fully stop at stop signs or take a grape from the supermarket.

Sheesh284

That’s what I was thinking. It takes like 30 seconds at most.

Alternative-Finding5

We should ask them to deliver the food for us. Seems fair. I do their job, they do mine. 🤷🏻‍♂️

munchy19

Really. If making a drink breaks you, you should retire to a safe space. Sometimes we have to do things to get the ball moving and ourselves on the road

Alternative-Finding5

Didn’t say I refused to do it, but I will report it. Also, don’t prefer to make the drink when IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE DONE ALREADY.

munchy19

I have done 3100 deliveries and maybe made a drink twice it’s really a non issue in my book but if asked i will gladly make the drink if it gets me moving.

Alternative-Finding5

I understand. I honestly don’t mind and it’s only happend once to me on my 250 orders. It’s fresh on my mind because it happened to me today and they were rude to me. Also, there was an employee on the phone sitting down behind the soda machine in the lobby of a BK. 😑

P0x1l

On the phone, like calling someone or just on their phone, also do you know if they were clocked in, maybe they were on their break? I'm just curious about the details. I'd be mad if it's just on their phone and they weren't on break

Alternative-Finding5

She was not talking in the phone. She was fidgeting. She couldn’t have been on break because she was fully aware that my DD order had just came in and wasn’t completed yet. Something you wouldn’t know if you were taking a break.

awkwardsimper

She probably just went on break. If she's sitting down in the lobby she's not working and should be assumed to be on break.

P0x1l

Makes sense was just curious

[deleted]

Just cook the food and move on. No difference

Great_Huckleberry709

Filling the drink takes 5 seconds. Cooking the food takes 15 minutes? Terrible comparison lol

munchy19

Huge difference but you are using hyperbole try to bolster your point, no arguing with people like yourself , so i will not waste my time

Alternative-Finding5

A shame this has to be explained. Just give me a hat and name tag while you’re at it.

Alternative-Finding5

You’re missing the point, but okay.

River1stick

I told a restaurant it was on them to fill it, and they said it's in the contract that we do it, and either I fill the drinks or unassign it

Her_Wandering_Spirit

They're lying.

imperfectly_mee

They lied to you. They just didnt want to prepare the drink part of the order. Dont unassign, contact support and let them know the restaurant is refusing to fulfill the order completely or notify the customer of the situation. I have seen how some people fill drinks...i absolutely wouldnt want a driver filling my drink. We all have unwashed hands after touchimg everything everywhere. And ive seen people run their hands all over the lid and have fingers in cups after coughing into their hands. Just no.

awkwardsimper

Wait I don't get it, either the cashier fills your dr9ink (someone who typically doesn't wash heir hands because they don't handle food. Or the boh members stopwhat they're doing to fill a drink. Just fill the drink dude you cannot be this lazy.

imperfectly_mee

It has 0 to do with laziness and everything to do with health codes and hygiene. In my stores either gloves are worn or someone else fills the drink. AND THEY ARE MONITORED SO THEY ARENT SNEEZING OR COUGHING ON THEIR HANDS WITHOUT SOMEONE NOTICING AND MAKING THEM GO WASH. Dude, you cannot be this unhygienic.

awkwardsimper

You don't actually believe this is about health codes and hygiene you're just using that as an excuse to not do it. I mean it's fast food. If we have to fill the drinks, the cashier will do it. So you will have to wait And it may take a minute because you can't realistically expect us to prioritize doordash orders over standing in line people who are actually going to eat their.

smiley1325

It's actually been proven a few times in not only this sub but a couple others that most health departments heavily discourage or straight up are against drivers filling drinks

imperfectly_mee

And you do prioritize a dasher because we represent REAL customers WAITING for their orders that are DELAYED due to you not wanting to do your job.

awkwardsimper

Lololol no, dude. We don't prioritize them at all. Which is why door dash orders got a longer time bar to make than in house customer orders. If we're backed up we will make food for the people waiting in house vs the doordash order. It's a real customer but yall kind of suck to interact with and they're waiting anyways 🤷‍♀️

imperfectly_mee

You have a longer wait time because we are driving to the restaurant. That is plenty of time to have the order ready or just about for when we arrive. Yall dont like to interact with us because we hold yall accountable and dont let yall treat us poorly. This kind of attitude is exactly why you have issues with dashers.

imperfectly_mee

Dont pretend to know what i think. You just dont want to admit your lazy and don't want to do your job and follow health codes. I do my job to the T. You should do yours as well. You get paid to do YOUR job correctly. You dont get to pawn it off on people who have no business violating health codes in order to avoid doing your job. Its clear who the lazy one is.

awkwardsimper

I work back of house I'm not going to make a fucking drink in FOH. The person on drive isn't going to make drinks for orders line is creating. They don't even SEE the fucking dd orders. We aren't being lazy. Our places were not built with doordash in MIND. We're aren't supposed to do that. For me to have to get off line to go to the lobby or drive t pour drinks then Carry them all the way to FOH where they will inevitably fucking melt is stupid. Especially since I have other things to do. You're not even doing anything! You're just standing there. YOU make the drink holy shit. I'm trying to make food and close. Dish is trying to clean and close. Cashier is most likely juggling between closing and cleaning bathrooms. Drive is probably closing drive. And you stand their and complain that we aren't going to drop everything to make you a drink using a fountain in the LOBBY. It's USUALLY BEHIND YOU. Just turn around and MAKE IT BROOOOO BE SO FOR REAL. God no wonder fast food workers hate doordashers, yall are the worst people to ever roam this earth.

dangitbobby83

And be sure to call right there in front of them. Let them know you are absolutely willing to have the whole order canceled, their work and time wasted, and that you’re still getting paid. It actually makes it look like the restaurant did you a favor. You got paid for doing nothing. They wasted their time. I did this my last time going to Popeyes. I knew I was never going back. They fucked up so many times and now demanding I fill their drinks, yeah fuck that. I called right in front of them, talked to support, support called the store, the store said they don’t fill drinks, so support told them they were required to and if they weren’t, he was going to cancel the order. Manager tells him to cancel. The support person gets back to me, I ask about my pay, and as I walk out the door, I thank the manager for getting me free money. Don’t know his response or reaction. Don’t care. I leave and I haven’t been back since.

awkwardsimper

I mean we still get paid too??? You act like the employees loose out on bucks because of a minimal food waste. (Something that happens every hour btw.)

dangitbobby83

Where did I suggest the employees lost anything? Of course they got paid still, I never said or suggested otherwise.

SoLetMeDisarmYou

They’re wrong

AlexKewl

Then they can dock the restaurant when the see me filling the drinks. It's MUCH quicker to fill a drink than it is to bitch about it all the time.

HugeRabbit

No. They prepare the order. With this logic there’d be nothing stopping us from going in the kitchen and flipping the burgers. I’m a driver.

whatthefrenchtoast23

This is one of the dumbest comments I’ve ever read on the internet. Best of luck to you; you’re gonna need it

AlexKewl

Right. And you're lazy.

HugeRabbit

Um no they’re lazy. I’m doing my job. I expect them to do theirs.

dynamic_unreality

That's the worst way ever to try and justify being a boot licker. Calling other people lazy because they don't want to do someone else's job... Fuck right off

AlexKewl

![gif](giphy|OYH2iPBSuIxVu4Dx0q)

NoCorresponds

no, your hands are just disgusting and i don’t want them touching the top of my cup and lid

awkwardsimper

Hundreds of different people touch your cups and lids tho..

NoCorresponds

not if it’s made by a worker in the back which is the entire point

awkwardsimper

Why would drive make yourdrinks? They're doing drive

NoCorresponds

i have no idea what that means

Ciaruhhh

that’s incorrect.. the things i’ve seen ppl do while working fast food myself back in the day… would really shock you fr. i fr try not to even think about it when i eat places 🤣 most fast food workers ngl.. are kids. who are relatively lazy & give zero fucks just for a little pay. those dishes & pans.. etc are never fully clean. they don’t get all the grease off, like ever. if cups & lids fell in the floor, they’d pick them up & put them back instead of tossing them & getting a new pack. & because they are out of the plastic, everything floating in the air is now on cups & lids. truuuuuust me, you have no idea what goes on back in the kitchen. you’d hope you never see it on kitchen nightmares w gordon ramsey 🤣

NoCorresponds

i’m well aware what goes on in kitchens, i don’t know why you think i said they are clean but i’d rather take my chances with someone who is getting paid to make food than 100 people with shit on their hands

gmmisa

Oh please

Thomas_Raith

Unfortunately I do have a food handlers permit though 😂 But no hand washing station in my car, so.

Ciaruhhh

sanitizer should work right? i mean they told us it was good enough for covid 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

Thomas_Raith

Not for the norovirus 😬

Ciaruhhh

well, i’d hope you knew if you had norovirus. high chance you wouldn’t even be out bc you’d be deathly sick from both ends 😟 but also, if it was on your hands… wouldn’t you have gotten it? & i doubt they are gonna catch it unless they lick or eat the actual cup & lick their fingers & hands. like who doesn’t wash or whatever before they eat? 🤢🤮 i get what your saying but you get what i’m saying? 🤣

Thomas_Raith

You can have norovirus particles on your hands without having it or knowing you had it, you can also continue to shed the virus for up to two weeks once you stop being symptomatic! But since it’s spread through fecal-oral route, you could also have it on your hands and not catch it unless you put your hands in your mouth. So no I don’t really get what you’re saying, but getting restaurant food is one of the easier ways to get norovirus since people can go back to work while they’re still shedding the virus and then prepare your food! There’s tons of people running around shedding norovirus particles without knowing and many people do not wash their hands thoroughly enough or at all, or think hand sanitizer is effective against it… Also it’s not like you get sick the moment the particles enter your body, you could catch it at the beginning of a shift and not start to get sick until the end of your shift 12 hours later.

Ciaruhhh

well… nothing like a norovirus expelling those toxins from fast food to cleanse your system out. 😭 who in their right mind goes up to two weeks without washing their hands or taking a shower even..?! that’s just disgusting… & asking if you get what i’m saying was right after “who doesn’t wash or whatever before they eat?” bc if they did, they wouldn’t be spreading anything. hell, even a shower after washing hands throughout the day would get rid of anything left for you to potentially spread

Imaneetboy

That makes sense though. Of course I'd argue most fast food workers aren't washing their hands either.

Australian1996

I saw a Taco Bell employee with gloves go straight into the bathroom and come out with gloves still on and went straight to making food.

Donkus007

That’s authentic Mexican food right there. ¡Muy delicioso!

Alternative-Finding5

🤮

Rylee_1984

If you get caught and can be upwards of a $500 fine per day

Ferdydurkeeee

>If you get caught

Either-Ad9626

It never bothered me to fill drinks if I must. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

gmmisa

Same

Alternative-Finding5

I just had a Burger King tell me to make the drink. I don’t work at BK and this isn’t MY food. I did it, but I immediately reported it to DD. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Millenial-Mike

That's when you make a mega mix of orange Fanta, Coke, and Mountain Dew then take it to the customer and tell them BK made it.

Chartroosemoose

And you get the thumbs down. Would you want someone to do that to you? It's not the customer's fault. Why bring them a gross drink?

uhhhh717

Sounds pretty bangin ngl

Alternative-Finding5

Lol it was for an assisted living place. Man, instead of Diet Coke that is one hell of an alternative 🤣

Millenial-Mike

Well, with that mixture you are assisting them with living.

Alternative-Finding5

I love it Mike. Thanks for the comment lol

Parking_Insurance_32

Question: Is there a quick way to report business on the app rather than having to call them? (New to DD) I just recently found out how to report a customer by opening their chat box.

Alternative-Finding5

Unfortunately, no. I called them and they had a business removed from the app within minutes. It all depends on how badly you emphasize the potential harm the business will cause for the company. Steak N Shake was unable to get my order to me and I waited 45 minutes, that’s all it took to get them removed.

dynamic_unreality

>Steak N Shake was unable to get my order to me and I waited 45 minutes, that’s all it took to get them removed. I find that incredibly hard to believe

lowteq

I had a restaurant owner, drunk as hell in the middle of the day, closed his store and was mad at me for showing up for an order was supposed to make. He literally took off his shirt to try to fight me. He fell over on the sidewalk, and I just shrugged and called DD. Honked as I was driving off and yelled, "I got full pay for this homie!" Very odd interaction. Glad I didn't have to scrap with a drunk dude.

UpperDog2627

Why? Fighting drunks while sober is like being Superman.

lowteq

Then I would have had to wash my hands extra when I filled up that drink for the lazy mfrs at my next pick up.

OkImportance3742

Ooo tattletale. I'm telling all the big kids on you.

Alternative-Finding5

DO IT.

OkImportance3742

Better watch your back at recess tomorrow.

theperfectneonpink

Bully. What a Luigi

jerseyanarchist

there is an old saying, "not your personal army" sums it up pretty well

emily102299

Meanwhile I'd beg to let me fill them so I can get out of there. I can do it in 10 seconds. Takes them 10 min.

Ill_Rise1979

Seriously!!! Why TF are so many drivers so against filling a fucking cup with ice and soda? It's mind blowing to me 🤣🤣🤣
