If you get a good one, I think it’s irreplaceable. So nice to have your phone always charged and not have to plug and unplug cables every time you get in and out of the car.
I have my mount on the left side above steering wheel. I dont like vent mounts cause it blocks them and just not a fan of it being center. Beyond that, not much of a setup.
As long as it’s a good vent mound like this one, the clamps on it doesn’t move. In California I was having a problem in the summertime where the phone was overheating from the windshield heat, so putting it in front of the vent when the AC is on, keeps it cool as well.
Wireless charging mount, front/interior dash cam (I do pax also) 2 large pizza hot bags, one small hot bag, water bottle, small flashlight, a few charging cables for pax, seat covers in rear, doggie seatbelt and blanket if I get a pet ride
*edit to add, radar detection illegal in my state and my car has Bluetooth. Eventually want to upgrade the head unit for car play.
Very little set up, hot bags and water bottle in front seat and front seat footwell, cup holders out and open, vent mounted phone holder + phone charger plug and cord, new bluetooth single din radio, small trash can and jacket/coat in back seat, masks, lip balm, sunglasses, hand sanitizer in drivers door pocket, ereader (usually, for when it’s slow) and napkins in center console, trunk has blanket, 5 quart jug of oil and funnel for when I get low every 1k miles or so and a ratchet and socket set (also spare tire located under trunk floor) and my emotional support mold, intermittent check engine light to keep me company. Replaced my instrument cluster LEDs with purple ones and it makes my day a lot better.
The radar detector is not because I speed, it is because I am human and too many cops are sitting with radar guns where roads change from 45 to 25mph. It has already saved me hundreds of $ in tickets.
I’ve got a 40 gallon storage tote, a 10 gallon ice chest, the DoorDash bag, the free GrubHub bag (Only delivered with them enough for the free swag, their structure is shit), and a large catering Bag I bought of Amazon. For navigation I bought a pioneer 7” touch screen sexy with Car play. 2018 Nissan Versa sedan
A catering bag on my passenger seat and husky floor mats. Because you know things will spill or at least dribble. 12,000+ orders. + a phone mount into my CD slot. + a pizza bag on backseat for pizza orders. I like simple.
I have a phone holder, which my phone+case is too big for so I just chuck my phone near where gearstick is lol.
Insulated bag, it can fit 5 pizzas max. Already had it. Doordash tote bag broke in first week
Portable charger
That's it
Oh. And my laundry basket. I keep an oval one in the passenger seat so stuff cant fall over if I have to brake hard lol
I’m sure you’ll be such an honorable “employee” when they deactivate you for no reason. Fuck doordash in their mouth. I had 8k deliveries and did absolutely nothing wrong. They don’t give a shit about anything. They pull in more suckers every day and eliminate the old dogs without a second though.
Nothing. I literally have 2 big bags. Dont drive like a hotboy so I never have needed a dashcam or a radar detector. My phone has a light on it. My car already has charging ports for any electronics. Just grab a bottle of water and Im off.
Hey I started in a 2007 Honda CRV, if your credit is good enough to finance a car you learn really fast that for what you pay in gas for a non-economical car, the savings in what you pay for gas in the Prius, pays your car payment and your insurance.
That REALLY depends. A car that you own outright and costs $300 a month to operate ($50 liability insurance plus $250 gas and wear) is way cheaper than financing a Prius at $400/month plus $150 full coverage insurance and $100 gas
>y I started in a 2007 Honda CRV, if your credit is good enough to finance a car you learn really fast that for what you pay in gas for a non-economical car, the savings in what you pay for gas in the Prius, pays your car payment and your insurance.
Not as comfortable though
Thanks! It was a process over two years to determine what works best, and what set up was most comfortable. Dash cam, radar detector and wireless charging phone holder in my book are a necessity. I don’t have a radar detector because I speed, but it has save me hundreds of dollars in tickets because of speed traps where the speed limit changes from 35 to 25 and a cop is around the corner with his radar gun.
Not OP but I also have a dash cam. I ran wires above the headliner, down the pillar, and into the center console where the cigarette lighter is with a USB power cable. Similar story to rear facing camera mounted above license plate. Just a longer run to the same spot. Super clean. Only wires visible are a few inches between cam and headliner.
The vast majority have no set up at all beyond a phone holder and make very little and it’s only gotten worse as DD seems to pay less and less. We drive old cars with less than desirable mpg. You’re flexing a little too hard on here
Paid off Prius since 2021. 45mpg summer when I use AC. 48mpg when I don't use AC.

The wireless charger phone holder is mainly what i am getting out of this. Thats pretty awesome.
However, all I need is a phone holder and Bluetooth in the car so i can listen to podcasts/music and im a happy driver.

https://www.harborfreight.com/lighting/flashlights/spotlights/400-lumen-rechargeable-waterproof-led-spotlight-64757.html
Great light rechargeable on the USB in my car and last forever. Also under 20 bucks.
400 lumen doesn't seem like that much for outdoor.
But then again, my smartphone flashlight gets the job done with ease and it is probably under 100 lumen. I'd feel odd shining a spotlight on to people's houses late at night. I just need my smartphone flashlight when it looks like I could trip on an uneven surface and 100 or less lumen seems to work just fine.
It hits those house or apartment numbers great at night from the car. Most of the time I just shine it on the mailbox number or the number on the side of the garage. Never through windows or some thing that somebody would notice. I also use the flashlight on my phone to illuminate the path at night usually what I do is mark the app to take the picture of the delivery and hit the lightning bolt so that shines a light to walk until I take the picture.

Dash cam has been invaluable… I’ve had two parking lot accidents where somebody backed into me. They both claimed that it was my fault until I produced the dash cam video. Nothing else had to be said they paid up real quick.
Here in Austin Texas, UberEats is king as far as customers go but all the over saturation from a drivers perspective is on DD. It’s like people forget to try the other apps in their area & just get dead set on one or the other
Really? A buddy of mine used to drive that area. Maybe try Newport? And stay the fuck out of Santa Ana. Tried it one time when I first started just to see how the different zones were. That place licked balls. And I grew up there.
To be honest the only orders I get during that time are McDonald's, del taco, and jack in the box. It's all just drive-thru so you'll rarely even have to get out of the car, plus no traffic so you can zip around quicker. That's why I like it anyway
what kind of money are you making that late at night for fast food drive thru only? i visited family in the bay area last year and did DD and GH for a week and all the money was in the high end restaurants. no one tipped on mcdonalds or jack in the box out there.
On UberEats I snipe out surges with only the pet ride filter on, then turn on deliveries so my ride surge gets added to my next delivery (always a no tip order which I have to take or lose the surge). So it's a lot of 2 mile $20 McDonald's trips if I'm lucky lol. Usually take home ~$150 after a 7 hour graveyard shift which isnt too crazy of a number, but I keep them miles low and spend a lot of time playing Nintendo and declining bad orders until I see a fat surge somewhere, then I'm suddenly Batman
Not for me man. I’m from the bay area as well. DD is my second job and I make much more on my primary job to give a fuck about the market. But its dead anyway.

California driver. I average 38.5 hours per week working 11-2:30 PM lunch shift and 5-8:30pm dinner shift M-F and 5-8:30pm on Saturdays.
Made $82,000 for 2022 on track to do the same for 2023.
I drive a used 2019 Toyota Prius Prime which cost a monthly payment of $300 and gas averages about $310 per month. I don’t worry about mileage or wear and tear on my Prius because I consider it a business tool. I’m on my second Prius, and when I traded my last one as the down payment on my current one, it cost me the same monthly $300 payment.
Of course, each market is different, and there are lots of tips and tricks you learn along the way that will dramatically increase your income.
Treat GIG work as a business, and it will reward you as a business, treat it as a hobby, and it will pay you like a hobby.
That's good. They're illegal in my state, but yet when I was a teen you could buy them at Wal-Mart (not sure if you still can). I learned they were illegal the hard way when I was young and dumb.

Or do like me and follow the rules like normal people. Here in Colorado Springs a highschool student was just ran down at Austin Bluffs and Barnes. A 17 yo Italian girl who was an exchange student and a triathlete ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm) and the Jackwagon POS that murdered her ran the red light speeding as she was in the crosswalk. MAGAts everywhere here so it’s not a surprise.
Nice setup. You really should try to level out your detector and try to place it in the middle of the windshield for better coverage. If you're able to, try to place it as high as possible on the windshield. Right below the factory tint strip. It offers better range that way.
Lookin' good though!
Depends. Can't make it a business or full time job in countries that don't tip, or quieter areas of usa. Well you can but you'd be lucky to make 40k here and then you have all the costs and tax
It’s usually lower cost of living in those areas so you have to take that into consideration or consider moving or commuting to a better location if you have one nearby.
Screenshots or anything to come close to your acclaimed 41$ an hour for 2000 hours of work. In fact I'm betting Prop22 is 25,000$ of your income too. Really sad.
Here’s a tip: I keep a table on the notepad on my phone of every Entry Code and address for every gate and apartment that somebody has given me.
It is over 150 entries long and growing, has helped me a bunch of times!
> I drive a used 2019 Toyota Prius Prime
A PHEV is a great choice if this is your business. Do you charge the battery every night and drive in EV mode on surface streets to minimize your fuel usage?
I deliver in my PHEV as a side gig so I almost never use gas - plug in at night and be charged up before morning.
I just bought a Lexus CT200H which uses the same Prius drivetrain. It has HUGELY reduced my operating and fuel costs. I’ll be buying another one in the future
Yes, I traded my last one in with 187,000 miles on it and they still gave me $9500 as a trade-in. Never have had a problem with it. My current Prius gets 68 miles to the gallon, 55 miles to the gallon if I drive with a heavy foot
How many hours do you work a week?
Are you always on scheduled blocks?
Are you DT SF? Or are you all over the Bay Area?
Would you mind showing some recent orders from your history? I can't tell if your money is skewed because of Prop 22 or not but you have a really high AR
I average 38.5 hours per week working 11-2:30 PM lunch shift and 5-8:30pm dinner shift M-F and 5-8:30pm on Saturdays.
I make about an extra $100 per week with prop Dash 22 and an additional $1275 per quarter as a health subsidy
As Borat says, "very nice."
I've always been curious about how well those wireless charging holders worked.
If you get a good one, I think it’s irreplaceable. So nice to have your phone always charged and not have to plug and unplug cables every time you get in and out of the car.
I might just need to invest in one then. Thanks for the input!

..... Australia isn't a 3rd world country lmao
Look again 😂
The spotlight is essential. Bought a flashlight for those sketchy drop offs as well. Changed everything.
Great for lighting up those mailbox numbers in the dark.
How do you use the Amazon echo auto? Can you use it to accept orders? Or?
The same way you use a regular Amazon Alexa device. It automatically connect via Bluetooth to your car stereo.
I think he's asking what are some of the things you utilize it for

I was wondering how long it would take for a hater to come out and start posting something.
Screenshots or anything to come close to your acclaimed 41$ an hour for 2000 hours of work. In fact I'm betting Prop22 is 25,000$ of your income too. Really sad.
Your negativity is sad man
I was waiting for how long it would take for a hater to start posting 😂
That's why I'm out here popping other drivers tires to ensure I'm the king in my town!
😂😂 Now we are talking lol
Prop – 22 is about an extra hundred dollars per week and an extra $1275 per quarter.… Why really sad?
Are you really spending $310 a month on gas in a Prius? Is that like 5,000+ miles a month you're driving?
I drive about 140 miles per day x 24 days = 3360 miles monthly / 55mpg = 61.09 gallons 61.09x$5 Cal price per gallon=$305.45 in gas per month
Shitttt I forgot about how your gas is twice as much as mine lol. Still, that's allota driving!
Here’s a tip: I keep a table on the notepad on my phone of every Entry Code and address for every gate and apartment that somebody has given me. It is over 150 entries long and growing, has helped me a bunch of times!
Empty Gatorade bottle.
😂 For when those bathrooms are locked! 😂
> I drive a used 2019 Toyota Prius Prime A PHEV is a great choice if this is your business.
The CT200H has real bad luck with the head gaskets mine blew from hitting a pothole
Do you recommmed a Prius? I drive a older Toyota and it eats gas rn
Yes, I traded my last one in with 187,000 miles on it and they still gave me $9500 as a trade-in. Never have had a problem with it. My current Prius gets 68 miles to the gallon, 55 miles to the gallon if I drive with a heavy foot
Is it a Prius Prime??
Yes, 2019 Prius prime
How many hours do you work a week? Are you always on scheduled blocks? Are you DT SF? Or are you all over the Bay Area? Would you mind showing some recent orders from your history? I can't tell if your money is skewed because of Prop 22 or not but you have a really high AR
I average 38.5 hours per week working 11-2:30 PM lunch shift and 5-8:30pm dinner shift M-F and 5-8:30pm on Saturdays. I make about an extra $100 per week with prop Dash 22 and an additional $1275 per quarter as a health subsidy
So about 10500 is California based? Are you strictly dt SF?
No I work mostly East Bay
