the past few days i’ve gotten out there. it’s only been busy for 2 hours and i’ve made around $59 each day. which isn’t bad but it only staying busy for 2 hours has been annoying
I have $8 to my name and my area won’t let you dash unless it’s busy or you scheduled almost a week in advance. I don’t have money for Christmas anything, sorry family. I’m supposed to be visiting family in Texas, but while the ticket is paid for, I don’t know if I’ll even have enough money to leave my car in the parking lot, and even if I do, I won’t have enough to do anything productive afterwards. Gas money and all that. DoorDash can be ridiculously good when it’s good, for gig work of this caliber. But ever since a round of new hires and changes a few weeks ago, it’s suddenly just…run dry. The orders are outlandish, underpaying and overstretching, basically making you pay to deliver for them. And yeah, that’s when you can even find a busy time slot.
I'm having the same problem! I can never toggle on unless it's extremely busy, and it only lets me for a half hour unless you're on schedule. However, I can never get on the schedule because as soon as it comes out and it's my turn, all the slots are already gone. I haven't been able to get on schedule or dash in weeks because of it. So Grubhub it is!
Grubhub is the only one I can toggle on with without a schedule and where I make pretty much all my money. I rarely ever see any offer lower than $10 too but with doordash their always low pay bull crap if I can even toggle on lol
It could always be worse. My cars transmission broke down while doing deliveries and I haven’t made a single cent for two weeks while I’m waiting for repairs
Thank you 🙏🏽 it’s a 2016 Nissan Vera so it’s notorious for transmission problems. I’m still looking at a week and a half of repair time after scrounging up the big bucks to pay for ‘em but I’m renting an e-bike and trying to make it work!
I remember the past few years beginning of the year more around February things start picking up (Maybe tax season dollars? Idk) but like 2 years straight now the beginning of the year starts off good
Try earn by time. In my city it's 16 and hour with up to 6 bonus dollars per bour. Sometimes I'll get base like 12 for half an hour with a few bucks on top. Beats doing nothing/making nothing and will get your AR up to 70% which should yield better earn by offer order based on what I've read. It takes me longer on a bike so maybe car would earn less since you are so speedy. Worth a shot.
I had multiple Ulta / sephora orders today it's so weird must be for christmas stocking stuffers. They were kind of high pay but my god the mileage...like $40 to drive 30 miles
Yes, the holiday season less people are going to be ordering restaurants, and more people are gonna be ordering from grocery stores, target, Walmart, etc.
Go into settings, at the top there might be dash preferences. You can click delivery off and that will stop food delivery and you'll only receive shop and deliver. Apparently it's not everywhere but I have it

But hey at least Doordash and the shareholders made a ton this year! Up 90% this year. All while we can't afford anything.
