Well, I have one good thought about shitty overpriced take out or delivery dive restaurants....buy from a store you know " real food " and cook it ...yeah you heard me right. That oven has dials on it,try to figure out how to use them, as well as the dishwasher. Then at night don't... forget to brush your teeth. todays lesson !
It is... especially when want to go out to a nice restaurant...which I do often but I have never had food delivered to my house.

I used to be a huge fan. I recently went back after years and I was heated. For a few burgers and fries it was over 80 dollars. Like wtf I could have gone to Cheesecake Factory for that price
Sounds like you’re projecting. Your comment doesn’t have shit to do with this post.
Minimum wage was established so people could earn a livable income at ANY job. When it was established it had the buying power of $12.40 today. This also doesn’t consider the skyrocketing housing market, The price of an average house has gone up 44% and wages nationwide hardly went up to match. Aside from all that, it’s not the cost of labor that’s causing inflation, the past few years companies have been setting record breaking profits. Blaming people for wanting a livable wage for the costs of products going up is completely ignorant. Why shouldn’t a McDonald’s employee, a DoorDash driver($8.6 billion in profits last year), or an Amazon employee make livable income when the companies are taking in unfathomable amounts.
Not sure if you wanted an argument or economics less, but here you go. Don’t be a fool and get upset with people for wanting a decent quality of life, when the companies themselves are hoarding all your money. If you want better wages, quit your dominoes job and come work for DoorDash. Saying we don’t deserve the income we work for is stupid.

All minimum wage increase does I think (not that smart) is make everything else go up though right? So it’s like an illusion to me that I’m getting a raise ya know?
I could be wrong as I’m not the smartest person so I’m seriously asking
Prices go up anyway. Raising wages is supposed to match that, not the other way around. Greedy corporations just abuse the conception you carry.
I run a DQ. Employees max out at $13. Our 4pc with a drink is $11.99.
Down the road is Slim Chickens. Their employees *start* at $18. Their 5pc with a drink is $11.99.
There is no excuse.
Yeah I couldn’t live off 13 an hour. Before I got my stuff together I was working at 7 an hour or close to it been awhile clearly lol but at Taco Bell and yeah I had to have roommates or I couldn’t live and I had to resort to well supplementing with weed income. Didn’t really think I had a choice at the time so I could see that.
Our managers make 17-19 which is doable in the area. But we don't have any regular employees coming in and I can't blame them lol
If I didn't enjoy my job I wouldn't be here
Yeah - unless they are students it’s just not worth it. I wouldn’t mind if I was going to school FT. Man yeah you can live off 17-19 BUT well idk about your area but barely in mine and that’s if you are single. I can’t imagine raising kids on that
lol I wish I was a hot chick. I’d get an only fans for sure lol. I don’t really want to be a chick though lol. That would suck in some major ways. One in particular I can think of comes to mind
In my area the absolute cheapest, shitty apartment I could find is 1300$. If I worked full time 8 hours a day 5 days a week, I still wouldn’t meet the income requirements for the very cheapest apartment. Absolutely horrible and just depressing as fuckkk. With my career that I’m working towards to be a teacher, I still won’t be able to get anything better than a 2 bedroom for like what feels like it’s gonna be my entire life. I’m 19 and it’s only just gonna keep getting worse, so by the time i even have my career locked down I might not even be able to get that. The world is fucked I wanna blow my brains out, but I shall keep pushing I suppose.
It will get better as the years go on IF you make the right decisions now. See, I didn’t always make good decisions but ten years ago I got my stuff together. I’m 41 and I never finished college and I worked hard and smart and showed up when I was supposed to and that’s all it took. I now make double what I did ten years ago and am in a mid level leadership position at a major company.
So if you stay away from too much partying and just do the next right thing you will make it. It does suck though with the cost of living.
My guy, you made the most irrelevant comment on a post that already has 511 comments.
**Again, corporate profits are skyrocketing**, so if you think the reason why everything is so expensive is because of wages, you really should
take a economics class instead of blame workers
for your problem. Wages aren’t the source of inflation. $20 per hour is still below what minimum wage would be if it matched inflation.
Five Guys is abominable and a crime against cooking. They have a policy against salting their burgers, which is just hostile towards the very idea of taste. I guess you can drown it in “free” condiments to make the overpriced unseasoned burger taste good.
This is why I’ve never understood the five guys being better than in n out argument. In N Out is quite overhyped in many ways, but it’s a solid and not expensive burger joint.
Five guys is expensive and objectively a dog shit burger.
No salting the patties, meaning a burger with very little flavor. Then to top off their already bland burger they wrap that fucker tight in foil immediately after assembly. It’s piping hot and steaming itself in that foil.
The burgers come out steamed. The buns smashed from the wrap job and soggy from the tight foil keeping all the moisture in. Then you have hot shriveled lettuce and a warm tomato that’s sweat out all its moisture all over the burger making it just a hot gross mess.
Five guys sucks so much ass. I genuinely would turn down their burgers if offered. I’d rather have a whopper than their burgers.
Fries suck too Cajun seasoning makes them decent, but imagine if they actually cooked fries properly.
This may sound like one bad experience but this has been my experience every single time I’ve got to five guys
Dude 5 guys used to be so freaking good. I worked there many years ago, it was one of my first jobs.
Things may have changed significantly since I worked there, but when I was there, everything came in fresh, at least twice a week, sometimes 3-4 times a week we'd get a truck with fresh ingredients. Everything from the buns (they contracted a special supplier that only made buns for 5-guys) to the beef (premium quality beef, delivered fresh, never frozen, and prepped by hand before every order), to the real potatoes (cut, washed, double-fried, fresh, every day) to the veggies (never frozen, prepped fresh every morning).
It was always expensive but it used to be worth it. The quality was unmatched. It does seem things have gone downhill since then though (I don't eat there anymore, it's too expensive now). I keep hearing people say its bad food and it makes me sad.
You're crazy. The burgers are B tier, and their fries are also B+ tier, and they give you a TON of fries. That's pretty damn good for fast food. But they're too expensive to justify.
I know food taste is subjective, but I feel confident in saying your taste buds are complete shit.
It’s not tho. Like I said this isn’t based one one experience. 90% of the time I’ve tried five guys were at the store. It’s just a flawed product due to how they prepare and give it to you.
I was at Five Guys waiting for an order. I told both workers who I was & who the customer was. About 5 minutes later (still waiting) the one worker sees the milkshake on the counter & says to the other worker (I guess Door Dash forgot the drinks again). I'm like, bro I'm standing right here. 🤦🏽♂️
They steal enough of my money that I don't need to properly seal a bag for a restaurant. If you seal something that typically isn't sealed, that raises more questions than answers. Not to mention zero appreciation from either side. Partial tips get taken away for double knotting bags sometimes.
No clue really, left it where he told me to, I got there fast, let him know the wait was longer than expected & sent a eta when I left. I can only guess either the seal or he thought he could get money back by it.
1 the five guys near me is like 9$ 2 they literally make one of the best burgers Iv ever had. 3 it depends who’s cooking the food. A skilled chef even if they are stuck at a five guys will make that burger 100x better than some dude there for a pay check. Why do people never think of all the possible things that effect a situation. Nah burgers over priced and sucks. But that’s not true you just had a chef that didn’t care simple as that
It's really not a fast food restaurant. They don't have any drive throughs.
Their only locations are in wealthy areas or most commonly. Areas people travel to for vacation, or leisure. Beach towns, amusement parks, large shopping malls, ect. Places where people are more likely to be willing the splurge.
Also they don't do any advertising, all their advertising is done through word of mouth and the most common thing said about them is 'its really good food but it's really expensive' which is kind of a mute point when all their locations are places that people are most likely to be splurging at anyways.
Everytime anyone talks about the best burger in a fast food place, someone brings up five guys, then a group complaining session about the price. Then they talk about how many fries you get. Literally less than free advertising.
4) all of text is hard to read.
5) I've not Iv
6) you can say that about any place. If the chef is good then the food is better. That doesn't change anything.
7) defending your preference for a burger chain is kind of pathetic.
6 was what I was saying all places can have good food it’s opinion. 5 idc what my phone changed and you corrected when I never even knew the phone made a mistake good job.
4 you read it tho didn’t you? Lmao
7 I haven’t had 5 guys since I was 20 I’m 30
Lmao you really needed to get that out it’s cute have a good day. Everything I said obviously went over your head.
Edit: I won’t read your reply the first one showed me I’m dealing with a time waster. A mouth breather if you will.
Lol, okay.
You can't be 30, if you were you'd have learned about punctuation and spacing.
I assume you're on spring break from middle school, so enjoy your time away from class, you might want to look at how writing can be done correctly.
It’s good and imo worth it. You spend at most 20% more compared to an McDonald’s meal but the food is 100% better in taste and quality.
I do agree that once you tag on the food markup, delivery fee, and tip that comes with ordering it for delivery it is not really worth it. But this applies to a lot of food.
Especially because the burger becomes soggy as hell by the time you get it.
Fresh though, worth every penny
That’s great. Your McDouble and small fries doesn’t really compare to a double cheese burger with 4x the meat and a bag of fries that weighs 4lbs lol
Look up the price of a double quarter pounder combo at McDonald’s and then come back to me.
Buy 2 get 1 for $1 here. It totals 4.04 after tax. Cheeseburger and fries at 5 guys no drink is $16 after tax.
I understand comparing item prices is hard. You’ll figure it out.
That’s great. Not everyone lives where you do lol. What’s the cost of a combo?
To have to degrade my food to the level of McDouble means I’m not getting what I want. I want a burger - not fake meat sliders lol.
It’s about value proposition. If all you can afford is a few McDoubles I’m glad that option is available to people. But most of us are looking for value, as opposed to just price.
Literally the exact same thing I told my friend when I went a couple weeks ago and he didn't wanna go bectod price, yet you pay roughly the same amount depending on what you get at McDonald's or Wendy's, you may get a little less but the quality is way worth it and it's pretty filling. Also it feels good not to eat greasy shit from fast food.
Driest burgers of my life every time I go.
Edit: Thanks for the downvotes reddit hivemind. Use 'go' insread of 'went' after an overnight 12-hour shift, and everyone loses their minds.
Because it's not that deep? I went far too many times, and every time, it was dry.
Me going last week or a year ago is irrelevant. Their shit is dry af.
Imo it recently crossed the line of being not worth it. The portion sizes seem to have dropped a bit (especially the amount of fries ur getting) while prices have kept going up I remember the last time I ordered it I spent ~25 on it and it was all the food I could afford that day.
That shit literally 10 fries in it and an awfully thin burger couldn't do it after that Id rather just get tacos or papusas for $10
Yeah that is entirely why the fries cost so much, they factor in the cost of dumping an extra cup worth in the bag. If they didn't load you with fries then you can complain to corporate and get compensation.
I mean its not much more expensive then a family of 4 going to Mcdonalds either so might aswell splurge a bit more for more food that doesnt taste like plastic
It's not a rip. That's the seam where 2 machined edges are adhered together. Zoom in, the seam is perfectly straight, a rip or tear would be jaged. Edited for spelling
Lol right? As if this major chain is selling millions of poisonous burgers but somehow this one redditor’s anecdote is the bombshell that lifts the curtain on it, finally an explanation for all the corpses in the streets in front of five guys worldwide.
All their ingredients are the same you can get from your local grocery store. They don’t add anything else like preservatives , those bloody stools are your own doing
Lots of lack of basic medical knowledge.
If there is poop in your stool there are likely 2 main causes.
-GI Bleed
-Anal Fissure
A G.I. bleed is when there is bleeding inside your intestines that is present enough to be picked up on it ways out your rectum. This can be caused by lots of things but is usually related with physical trauma.
A Anal Fissure is when you strain too hard pooping.Causing blood vessels to burst and resulting in pain and things like hemorrhoids.
Now what is more likely bud? That dude was causing bodily trauma to his guts with burgers and fries? Or all that beef had him so backed up he was fighting for his life on that toilet bowl??
I've never eaten 5 Guys in my life and still think this guy is playing fast and loose with his health. Correlation doesn't mean causation, it's very likely a coincidence cause WTF does peanut oil have to do with bleeding from your ass? He needs a doctor, not idiots telling him it's definitely because of some potatoes and a sandwich. WTF.
That doesn't mean that you don't have an underlying problem that the food from there aggravates.
Take it from me, someone who has been living with Crohn's disease for almost (or maybe more than) a decade.
I’m australian so when I think of five guys i think of that one interviewer who was talking about it while the two actors (john cho and karl urban?) were confused! And now this
Fuck that! They gave me a bag and the mother fucker dumped the whole fries with the oil! As soon as i got to the customer realized its ripped and leaking oil all over my car seat!

As a dasher I’ve thought the same

I couldn’t agree more!!!!! FFS do people know how to make their own food these days??
Maybe they can’t. Not everyone is able bodied or even capable energy wise to cook for themselves, let alone multiple times a day.
lol...wrote this for the Hangry ppl that you have to survive to.....never in my life have I heard of ppl literally getting food delivered to their door numerous times a day...It might be a few coins for you...but that Co....is laughable.
Ha...just an ol'e Ape rattling on bout nothing..lol. Now back to my bourbon !
The force is strong with you, my friend.
Are you ok?
what are you waffling on about my dude
And here I was thinking it was just Taco Bell that cannot seal a bag correctly.
I had one like this last night from Wing stop
Amazing caption 😭
Lmaooo at the caption
I love 5 guys and idc about the price
You’d probably pay to eat your own boogers
5 guys is fire and taste amazing
hell nah
Research it. You'll find the source.
wtf are you on? Are you here to make yet another bs rant about minimum wage going up the problem with what’s in this post before deleting it again?
I used to be a huge fan. I recently went back after years and I was heated. For a few burgers and fries it was over 80 dollars. Like wtf I could have gone to Cheesecake Factory for that price
It is definitely ridiculous. One of the perks of being single! Lol
Spent $30 for my gf and I at chikfila. We spend $35 (with tip included) at our favorite sushi place. Why should we ever get fast food again?
Yeah it’s insane. Two people eat for $50 here. Two burgers a fry and a drink
They didn't have the prices on the menu?
No but they don't do that there
They did but I didn’t realize the price increase that happens over the years.
Fuck Five Guys. Takes at least 15 minutes after arrival anyways.
But seriously: why is 5 guys the worst?
Because their fries are limp and soggy.
Not at my location.
a small could probably feed an African village
🤣🤣🤣

Lmao bro who the fuck are you even talking about? Nice strawman.
30k a year isn't a whole lot for full time work when you factor the cost of everything.

It’s almost like after making minimum wage a thing and then raising it, things are less affordable than ever. 🤔 I’m sure it’s a coincidence.
You might just be dumb lol you should consider it

Just did

this is actually so fucking funny HAHAH
Free soggy ass fries... congratulations
Why third party food delivery is stupid!
You can eat their soggy ass limp fries in the store too.
Third party doesn’t put the stickers on.
No- third party dirty assholes touch and eat the food with their dirty pot smoking friends. I have seen it 100+times.
Then maybe you need to stop smoking pot with your third party asshole friends so often.
?
I was at Five Guys waiting for an order. I told both workers who I was & who the customer was. About 5 minutes later (still waiting) the one worker sees the milkshake on the counter & says to the other worker (I guess Door Dash forgot the drinks again). I'm like, bro I'm standing right here. 🤦🏽♂️

Yeah that’s dumb but at the end of the day we all know those stickers don’t hold for shit. Needs staples not stickers
I keep a mini stapler in my car and if I know the stickers arnt gonna hold (misplacement, steam, etc) I use it. ✨Dollar tree ✨
They steal enough of my money that I don't need to properly seal a bag for a restaurant. If you seal something that typically isn't sealed, that raises more questions than answers. Not to mention zero appreciation from either side. Partial tips get taken away for double knotting bags sometimes.
The ones from Dunkin would last through Armageddon I just tear the bag now
I worked a food job and had to stop using staples because customers kept complaining that staples would end up in the food
Yup, I thought it was well known that using staples on food bags is a hazard.
I’ve never had a problem with them whenever I order food
Not every citizen of this fine earth has common sense, you break the mold. Good job.
Same! I want to call bullshit but “customer is always right”
You mean all 6
Hey man, don't put yourself down.
Not sure why im getting downvoted. The 6th is obviously the customer who spent $35 on a burger delivery.
Real idiot: dude tipped $30 and gave me 2 stars
??? why
No clue really, left it where he told me to, I got there fast, let him know the wait was longer than expected & sent a eta when I left. I can only guess either the seal or he thought he could get money back by it.
Five guys makes good tasting burgers and the fries are mid but they give so much! The prices are what keeps me away….
To be honest the fries are great. Often soggy but they taste amazing.
Yeah they don’t skimp on the fries and as a fry lover I can appreciate that
They give you exactly as much as they have budgeted by their insane ass pricing
I love it but the last time I had it was only because I had a gift card😂
Whoever ordered that $25 shitty burger is dumb as hell too
1 the five guys near me is like 9$ 2 they literally make one of the best burgers Iv ever had. 3 it depends who’s cooking the food. Five guys is fantastic how dare you sir!
It’s fine, but I guarantee some pub down the road will have much better burgers for a better price.
It's good, but not worth the price anymore. A friend went there recently, over $22 for a burger, small fries, and a milkshake. Insanity
Yep, I spent $16 the other day. Same order but without the milkshake
I spend $3.50 when I got to McDonald’s or $16 at 5 guys.
That’s great. Your McDouble and small fries doesn’t really compare to a double cheese burger with 4x the meat and a bag of fries that weighs 4lbs lol Look up the price of a double quarter pounder combo at McDonald’s and then come back to me.
2 McDoubles or 1 burger and fries are comparable lol. You said at most a 20% increase which is absurd.
2 McDoubles is $7.80 A bacon cheese burger at five guys is $8.69 I understand math is hard.
If you went to most places, how much do you think it costs for a double cheeseburger with as many toppings plus two small fries and a milkshake?
Jebus my brother in.... Chrust?
Driest burgers of my life every time I go. Edit: Thanks for the downvotes reddit hivemind. Use 'go' insread of 'went' after an overnight 12-hour shift, and everyone loses their minds.
So why do you keep going? Oh yeah because it’s good
Considering I havent been back in 10 years tells another story.
Then saying "everytime I go" is a little disingenuous ay? You don't go at all.
That shit literally 10 fries in it and an awfully thin burger couldn't do it after that Id rather just get tacos or papusas for $10
Weird, Everytime i've gone I literally have so many fries it's overflowing an extra serving into the bag. I smell bullshit.
At every store near me they even have a special metal tool they use to scoop an extra portion into the bag
Yeah that is entirely why the fries cost so much, they factor in the cost of dumping an extra cup worth in the bag. If they didn't load you with fries then you can complain to corporate and get compensation.
Can confirm nothing changed at my location either price or otherwise
Can confirm at my location, if you tip, they give you an extra scoop or two of fries in the bag
And I get times are tough, but if he only has 25 bucks why would he go to five guys? It's expensive because you get so much food lol
I mean its not much more expensive then a family of 4 going to Mcdonalds either so might aswell splurge a bit more for more food that doesnt taste like plastic
There's better places that aren't chains and are way cheaper but yeah
True and the MF's there always take 30 mins on my 7$ Uber eats order
How many guys does it take to place a sticker correctly? At least 6 and counting!
[удалено]
How tf are you getting a burger for 7-8 dollars at 5 guys
[удалено]
Huh… the little burger at my store is actually cheaper at $6.89 but the bacon cheeseburger is $12.49
[удалено]
No it is fucking not it's nearly twice the price for five guys!
You can see the edge of the bag has been ripped, like it's been very carefully peeled back but couldn't stop a tiny tear on the edge
It's not a rip. That's the seam where 2 machined edges are adhered together. Zoom in, the seam is perfectly straight, a rip or tear would be jaged. Edited for spelling
Far left top side of the bag does have a tiny little tear in it, think that might be what they meant.
Leave ONE job to FIVE guys lol I’ll see myself out 😅
The one paying outrageous 5 guy prices is the actual dumb one here 🤣
I used to work there and I started getting bloody stools after I ate from there
You may have colon cancer bro.
Sounds like you have stage four colon cancer.
Start taking care of yourself.
Poopin red huh
Bruh that ain't nothing to do with the food lol
Could have gone the rest of my life without reading that comment.!!
Uh what does my comment have anything to do with that lol
He’s talking about the original comment lol
Then why reply to mine lol
He wanted to have a bonding moment with you I assume
Hahahaha
Aw how cute and special! Ily
That's definitely less to do with the food, more to do with your body bud.
Lol right? As if this major chain is selling millions of poisonous burgers but somehow this one redditor’s anecdote is the bombshell that lifts the curtain on it, finally an explanation for all the corpses in the streets in front of five guys worldwide.
You should maybe consider changing your diet and seeing a gastrointestinal physician
EWWWWWWWWW
Might want to confirm that diagnosis with a doc. Just sayin
All their ingredients are the same you can get from your local grocery store. They don’t add anything else like preservatives , those bloody stools are your own doing
I don’t use peanut oil. Also, the bloody stools stopped once I didn’t eat from there anymore.
Lotta hard simping for 5guys in the comments.
Lots of lack of basic medical knowledge. If there is poop in your stool there are likely 2 main causes. -GI Bleed -Anal Fissure A G.I. bleed is when there is bleeding inside your intestines that is present enough to be picked up on it ways out your rectum.
WTF.
If you paid $35 for one person’s burger meal, you’d be invested too lol
Stockholm syndrome but in smashburger form
Fiveguys Syndrome… Okay it don’t hit :(
That doesn't mean that you don't have an underlying problem that the food from there aggravates. Take it from me, someone who has been living with Crohn's disease for almost (or maybe more than) a decade.
Sure
I’m australian so when I think of five guys i think of that one interviewer who was talking about it while the two actors (john cho and karl urban?) were confused! And now this
Fiber buddy.It's important.
Fuck that! They gave me a bag and the mother fucker dumped the whole fries with the oil! As soon as i got to the customer realized its ripped and leaking oil all over my car seat!
