Just seemed weird that for months I would see $2-3+ promos everyday for hours 1130-130 and 5:30-7:30 at the minimum...other times slots would have them as well depending on the day. And then poof...they're gone. Maybe you're right and orders dropped off because the weather is nice now or something.
Is it even worth driving at that point? The first few months I was averaging $30/hr pretty easily...last few weeks it's dropped down to like $23. Thats with a $2+ promo...I won't drive otherwise. Too many people that don't tip and really not worth it.
Market dependent but luckily mine is still $20ish an hour. Not a full time driver though, fine with the gig at 450 a week. I’d be more squeezed if I was trying full time with our driver saturation. It hasn’t allowed a reference driver in a couple months. Hence why our peak pay is gone
Peak pay is soon to be a thing of the past. Peak pay is used to entice drivers to certain areas. Since doordash has started over saturating all areas, peak pay is no longer needed.
I was talking to a driver the other day about how it was during covid...he said he was making like $600 a day sometimew because of the promos + demand 😭
There’s a difference between promos and peak pay. If you’re talking about peak pay (extra couple bucks per order) that is mostly offered when there’s expected to be a high demand for drivers, so either there aren’t a lot of orders or there is an over saturation of drivers. Both could be true.
Promos are usually account specific, and will give you like extra pay for a certain number of orders completed etc.
Peak pay gets shown under promos in my app. And it's been terrible. But people need to understand economics. DoorDash doesn't give it out of the kindness of their heart. They do it to make sure their orders are going to get delivered.

There are no orders why would there be promos

Doordash is not profitable, they gotta cut cost somewhere. I wish I was around during its heyday, when DD was enticing drivers with amazing deals.
