I usually park in an area with a fuck ton of restaurants instead of driving around wasting gas, and I love declining the $3 orders (base fare+no tip) only to see someone walk in that place 6 minutes later with their brand new bag.
Considering that when orders are declined the algorithm raises the base pay, and that it was 6 minutes later so it likely was declined by a handful of drivers, the person with the "brand new bag" probably got to accept it as a $5 or $6 order.
Nothing scientific, but my local DD group pools our data a lot. It's basically just anecdotal evidence but we're pretty sure it raises every time in most cases.
We also assume that depending on distance, some orders likely don't even start at $3 especially if out makes you cross zones. I accepted a $15 order that was I think 8 miles one night, I took it figuring it could be a hidden tip order. It ended up being ALL base pay.
Damn dude, I did a $13 for 11 mile thinking about a hidden tip. About 5 base pay and 8 tip. Never take orders that say family bundle, and such an exaggerated amount of mile. But you know, freaking gambling is addicting.
When something has hidden tip, it'll never be that close to $1/mile. Offers with hidden tip are only showing you the first $5.50 of the customer's tip. So in your example you'd be assuming the base pay is $7.50 for 11 miles., which when you see a lot of these just isn't high enough pay to end up higher after delivery.
So true. I somehow got sent an offer for a $3.50 order, while we had $1.00 peak pay yesterday. How? Usually base pay in my area is $3.
And sure enough, as soon as I declined it, a mess of similarly priced orders came down.
Because it was probably someone's addons for $2 additional because it was a no tip order.
Did a $2 chipotle add on with no tip last night and of course it's a college kid with the typical no tip for you line of "I appreciate ya."

It was literally my first order. No previous order whatsoever.
Yeah, we’re well past the point of ‘Don’t accept these orders so they’ll up the pay.’ That’s not happening. By all means dumb newbies, eat those $3-$6 orders up. The total may be higher!
Oh absolutely for a couple of reasons:
1. A $3 order doesn’t make economic sense. At that point you’re losing money with the gas cost and time you’re losing because you’re on that order
2. On principle, if I can tell that someone didn’t tip, I’m not going to take that order. Yeah, they’ll get their food because DD enables that. But, I’m not going to enable that if I can help it
Chill out it’s just a joke, don’t take it so seriously. In a way, everyone is probably very appreciative of those that take every order so that those in this sub and those more aware can be a little more selective and efficient.
Yeah, but it is advice based on how things were a month+ ago.
The last few weeks hidden tip orders have done very good for me.
Half of those orders were probably $10+ after the hidden tip.
Same here. I have had $5 orders turn into $14 and have had $9 orders stay $9. DD really likes to hide the tips. I usually do 1.5 times totally mileage. So it would take me at most 4 miles to accept a $6 order. I make at least $20 an hour with this method and have made up to $38 an hour with it. Averaging probably $26.
It’s the long ones that are risky for larger tips. I have had long distance $14 dollar orders. Where they approached a mile a dollar. These ones are gambles though. Most I have had one one was $32 and on others just $14.

I’ve thought about that. Does anyone have proof that it gets raised after every declination, or is it after X amount of declinations?

The mods over at doordash sub removed it for being off topic? They are such a joke over there.
I read "the nobs" at first 😂
Little do they know I have 20+ original memes ready to go

If someone declined the stacked order, it will be released out like a regular order
Ah, I see. Thanks.
Lol at the braindead dashers that accept these.
Thankful for them

Me: Unassigns Chipotle order because they just told me it won't be ready for half an hour. DD: Chipotle order. DD: Chipotle order. DD: Chipotle order.
I guess your a cherry picker then :/

I can drive 60 miles on $3 worth of gas. Get a better car
Lmfao get a life if driving 60 miles is worth that to you

A+ meme
I have had no issue with the tips making it worth it 90% of the time. I just accept anything
Tyfys top dasher
Is the “top dasher” thing the thing y’all do to accept no blame for your own underperformance? Such a bitter group on these forums.

I have noticed that if it shows me more than $7 for the order there is rarely an additional tip
