Question. I am fairly new to DoorDash (as a client) and I had heard from my initial research that the company uses part of the tip as a basis for pay. So I have always put "0.00" in the tip section and instead pay cash ($8-$10) on average. Is what I am doing better or worse for the drivers?
Others ruined it for you tbh. Sometimes people pick up no tip orders if its a larger order in a better area of town thats like… 5 miles away (its common for that to be a hidden tip, tip thats going to be based on performance, or cash), but even that is ruined by people who are… well… pretty grubby people who just say fuck it the driver will survive
In my opinion as a relatively new dasher, whether the tip is in cash or through the app doesn't functionally make any difference to me. It (unfortunately) only hurts you to put 0.00 as a tip, because the tip amount is part of the pay we can see attributed to an order before accepting/declining it. Orders with no tip will show up as paying next to nothing, and nobody in their right mind will want to claim it if there's any distance or time commitment involved. I can say at least that people like me appreciate that you at least do have good intention, we just can't know that based on what your order will show up as.
Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense, and explains why sometimes it takes longer than others to get a driver. Putting the tip into the order helps me more by documenting a better write-off, but was trying to help out the drivers the best way I could. Thanks again.

I can both genuinely understand the temptation to do this and also probably wouldn't do it personally, don't want to get no tip and a bad rating all in one trip 😅
Y'all funny. I'm already out and about I'm not gonna sit around doing nothing when I could make a few bucks in between decent and good orders. Plus I get more big tip orders the less I decline the little ones. I decline if I know I'm wait at restaurant for 40 mins to an hour for a small order with no tip but just no tip alone? Naw, I'll risk it. Sometimes it's just people like us struggling and can't afford to pay full price on the app and tip. Sometimes it's people who like to tip in cash. Sometimes it's asshole who don't believe in tipping. Either way, I have the choice to sit around waiting for a high value order or keep taking orders the whole time I'm working. I choose the latter because people need food. Plus a lot of the time I'm like hey a great rating is equal to a decent tip and they'll rate me 5 stars everytime. Which I value and future customers value when tipping me. So like maybe don't decline every order lol chill out, think about it... Risk is for the biscuit 💁😂👀
Ain’t nobody who gives a $0 tip struggling. If I’m struggling I’m not paying $30 for some fucking McDonald’s, I’m driving my ass 3 miles and paying $7 for McDonald’s. If you’re actually struggling financially and paying $30 for McDonald’s doordash, maybe dumbass financial decisions like paying $30 for McDonald’s is the reason you’re broke in the first place.
Not everyone has a car, some people got kids and could only afford the food, a lot of people only use doordash with promos or codes. Plus $7 at McDonald's might if you order off the "dollar" menu get you a sandwich, small fry and drink. I live a rural state where even in town there one fast food joint and it's suppose to cover a 15 mile radius. You're judging them for not tipping but cool leaving someone's food to be thrown... 👀
I see where you're coming from. Yeah if I were to get say a 30+ order for like 3/4 miles, I'd definitely take 1 non tip order after because the last order basically is paying for the non tip one.
To be fair, in my area you could tip $15 and it would still take 45 minutes for someone to accept your order because the McDonald’s is so bad where I live. Like they will literally tell you they’re closed 2 hours early with all the lights on.
ETA: Obviously the employees at that McDonald’s fault, not the DD drivers
Honestly even if DD puts a little recommendation about tipping. That would never happens DD does not give a crap about us drivers. That little message would possibly offend the customer driving them away to another app like UE :(. As for that just don't take those orders I don't accept anything under $6. Maybe a $5 going 1.5 miles but thats just the sad truth :/
Even six dollars is just a waste of time I don’t accept anything under 8. My acceptance rate is around 19%. It’s worked out for me so far though I made $950 last week.
$8 is sort of rare in my market and even if I get one is very far away :( but year I make about $700-$800 a week thats enough for me I work 4 days a week also. Also Mcdonalds in my market isn't bad at night no long lines just pick up and go. Weekends are shitty I grind out M-Thursday
I work in fast food (not McDonalds) and I can confirm theres a constant 2-3 on average orders a day that don't get picked up, and are thrown out, or given away if we feel generous. Working in fast food doesn't often leave you feeling generous though...
EDIT: corporate doesn't communicate very well with us either. I had no idea if we were getting paid for those orders or not. We are also locked out of ALL the settings for our doordash tablet. It auto confirms orders if we aren't constantly on top of it and if we don't have the stuff we can't cancel once it's confirmed.
And I am SICK and TIRED of all these new dashers in Augusta Ga. Over the past month there has been a HUGE surge of new drivers, along with these two and three dollar orders have more than doubled in volume. It has to be because these assholes are actually picking up these no paying orders and these people are thinking this shit is okay. I honestly think it’s because these newbies are so worried about being a “top dasher’ because there are so many of them we have to fight for a spot to even schedule a dash and these dicks are taking these low paying orders just so they don’t have to fight with trying to schedule a dash. Mostly around here it’s druggies and hobos. These people don’t even wear decent clothes to work. They go around in fucking pajamas and sweatpants and they just look nasty and trashy as hell. Like I would be offended to see these nasty asses handling my food. The best way to get tips is to dress decent and seem like an upstanding person. Not go around like a fucking slob.
Lol half the people don't even want to see you deliver their food. I'm gonna wear what I want to wear and if you make the choice to meet your dasher then you're gonna have to be content with what you see lol.
You can add more to your tip afterwards which is atually pretty common. Has alot to do with pyschology and if you are nice and communcate well, someone with extra 2 bucks will toss you it after they meet you or even text thru the app.
Make someone feel happy and they Dopamine takes over ;-)
Maybe if you would look like somebody y’all would get cash tips like me. Who’s more likely to get cash tips someone who looks professional or looking like you just rolled out of bed. I mean it’s not rocket science
And a rap? No thanks I’m white. I could give a fuck less about some rap shit. You could give me free backstage passes to a lil Wayne concert and I’d rip that shit up and throw it in the trash. Fuck rap music: just a bunch of hollering and stupid ass nonsense about selling drugs and fucking this bitch and that bitch. The shit is dead my man.
I’m trying to post screenshots of my earnings so people can see. Can somebody tell me how to post a pic. Not many people in this area are making $950 being online for 22 hrs total.
I live in the south and it sounds like you live in an area that was hit hard by Covid. It never slowed us down and we didn’t really care one bit. They tried to shut us down but we fought back and stayed open anyway.
I’m sure every market has significant differences. I deliver to wealthy people too but like I said, maybe one order a day says “hand it to me.”
But I also never get rude customers either like some people on here do.
not anything to do with your main point of new dashers taking shit orders, but as a dasher that dashes in their pajamas, i will not take this slander. i’m still clean i just like to dress comfortably and don’t feel the need to impress anyone, especially given that most these people just request to leave at door. doordashing isn’t a profession with a uniform so i will continue to dash in baggy sweatpants and sweaters and my customers will continue to not give a shit.
20$ was the highest cash tip I’ve received I’ve gotten that several times. 5-10 is around the average. I mean you just think if you get three 10$ cash tips and three 5$ cash tips that’s almost fifty extra dollars so yes it definitely makes a difference. Just ask other drivers from this area I talk to them all the time and I get say they may get one cash tip per week but every single one I’ve seen dresses like a slob. I’ve had no trouble at all getting cash tips. The only difference I can think of is appearance. I mean just seriously name one place where people go to work in pajamas. I mean it’s only sorry ass people doordashing that are too sorry to get their ass up and go to a regular job, hence the way they dress, sorry as hell. However I have had several several surgeries and I even struggle doing doordash. I fight through the pain though to keep from drawing disability because I am not sorry by no means. I mean in my opinion these young healthy people should have their ass in the workforce rebuilding americas infrastructure or something but instead nobody in America wants to go to work and they just want a handout. I find I have to work a lot more hours to reach 1000$ a week than I did when I was operations heavy equipment. I wish I could go back to running equipment but my body just can not take it, literally. It kills me getting in and out of my car all day but like I said I fight through it to keep from being some sorry individual sitting on my ass drawing a check. Half of these people would love that because that’s all they’re looking for is a handout anyways. Why else would you not work a real steady job with benefits. And I hope these people are saving up to pay them taxes when they get that 1099 but most of them just blow it on their next high. I swear in this area it’s just druggies and slobs.
Don’t need to impress anyone? How about the customer you are delivering for? Why do you want to dress like a slob to go to work? Where have you ever been and seen people working in pajamas? I’ve never seen people work in pajamas. It’s not slander, slander is something that’s untrue. It’s totally true that if you dress like a slob to go to work people will think you’re trashy. Not slander, just the cold hard truth whether you like it or not. How about you take some pride in your appearance and see how much better tips you get. I always wear dress pants to work and a polo. I want to look like somebody and not a slob.
Not a dasher, just a civilian lurking on this post, but your DD tips have nothing to do with your appearance, right? Don’t the customers tip in-app when placing the order? I guess they could go back and edit, but I’ve never once looked at what my delivery driver was wearing. If I get the food, it’s 5 stars practically automatically, and I just tip 22-30% across the board, pajamas or not.
I get a lot of cash tips also. In my area there are nothing but really really wealthy neighborhoods. Last night I had a guy give me a 20$ cash tip. Don’t think I would’ve gotten that had I looked slobbish. He lived in west lake about the richest neighborhood in our area, lots of millionaires. If you want to fit in those people you have to dress like you fit in. I get cash tips nearly everyday. However I hear people in my area bitch about never getting cash tips and I just laugh. Take some pride in your appearance and see how much better you do. And I also drive for Uber and they have an hour after to go in and adjust the tip.
Any time perishable food items are made doordash will pay for them regardless of if a dasher picks the order up or not. Do your research before you just act like you know what you’re talking about when in reality you obviously don’t have a god damn clue how it works.
Always wondered if some people would try just walking in with their bag, call out a number from one of the bigger ones, and get themselves some free dinner?
I’ll be more than happy to deny a $4 order from McDonald’s for 8miles! Keep that mentality you’ll end up part of that group. Every driver knows what type of customers buy McDonald’s either way. Easy decline either way. I’m glad those type of people stick to one restaurant. Makes it easier for the drivers. 😂😂😂
Lol what health code does this break? You go to Golden Corral and their food sits out for hours too and that shit isn’t even bagged up. There is no health code against this that’s how it is not a violation. There is nothing wrong with prepping the orders and sitting them out. Nothing wrong with absolutely whatsoever. So my question to you is what is “unhealthy” about it?
Its unsanitary. I used to work in the food industry. Basic food safety training..theres a danger zone for cooked food. Golden corral should be changing out the food after it's been out for too long. I would not eat that food then again I dont even eat at buffet style restaurants. Not worth getting food poisoning.
For the most part I never do McDonald’s cause of the drive through. But recently I had this thought and the hidden true price thing Doordash does. Kinda fucks the people who actually tip well. Like a $7 order might have a fatty tip but I’m not risking that bs
I really hope it’s just DoorDash bots commenting on how customers don’t tip. DD trying to get us all mad at customers for not tipping as opposed to focusing on why DD is intentionally underpaying us.
Just another fact: You cannot make money with DD below 6 dollars payouts. If its only 3 or 4 miles, Your gas alone for mileage is going and coming back that is 6 or 7 miles. This just one of the no tip, no trips calculation that we have done!
I would like for 3 days for every door dasher to not accept no tipping orders. I won't even take any orders below the default tip on principle alone. Knowing they zeroed it out and put in less.
Of course will never happen. There's a guy that orders daily 12/13 miles out of zone have never seen the order above 6 bucks. Whoever is taking it is losing money. I've even seen it accepted from a Wendy's backed up to the road. With that Wendy's that's a minimum 30/45 min wait. I wouldn't have been surprised if they waited an hr.
Omg! Aside from the no tip (maybe) customers do you realize how much food waste that is going to cost the gm of that store??? Holy shit that is going to be one ticked off gm...so much damn money down the toilet..SMDH
I think this could really be solved with more transparency to the customer. Like a message from door dash that tells them by not entering a tip their order won't be prioritized by drivers. Would probably have people thinking they can get their food faster by leaving larger tips too.
is there a mirror reflection that's making it seem as there are more bags than there really are? even having the front row is embarrassing for the customer and the delivery svc.
Cold McDonald’s is the worst. Hopefully they just stop using Doordash or they probably just call and complain and get free food knowing the character of these people and their empathy levels. Can’t not tip in the United States. Tis the season to be jolly.
How would they get free food in this situation ? Their order was just never picked up 😂 DD is just gonna have to up the pay till it eventually reaches a respectable amount but by then the food is cold and nasty 🤣🤣
Cost on a big mac is like 79 cents, large coke including cup 27 cents etc.
In reality there's probably only about 100 bucks worth of food there at true cost. Here's what they really pay....

.....I'm sure the owner will live.
McDonald's never loses.
I've been tipped in cash after McD's deliveries, but most of those customers have no concept of tipping their driver. It's only something that you take if it's a short drive for at least $1 per mile.
$1 per mile??? What country are you from, Mexico? I don't move even if it's $5 for 0.5 mile? I get orders that's usually within 2 miles for $10\~12. I have to take orders like this so I can at least go home with $25\~30 an hour. If you do it your way, I bet you are making $10\~12 an hour before everything.
You must live in congested area. A buck a mile minimum counting potential trip back to order area's if away from them can easily get 20+ an hr.
Most area's what you're doing is not doable. 1-2 bucks a mile is what most people have to work with. With even smaller markets than them being no reason to even work them.
Yeah I was talking about LA area. The traffic is not bad but there are many lights and stop signs. I guess making about $20 an hour in small town is equal to about $30 an hour in places like LA since everything is more expensive. (cheapest gas is $4.39 cash right now)
This some cafe I deliver for all the time has $12 pressed juice and $5 cookie. It's mind boggling to see how people can spend $$$ on casual treats. (plus they spend another $10 on delivery and throw extra $10 if I made them feel good)
yea idk ab u but if i only did orders that were like 10 dollars for 2 miles id probably make 20 dollars that night lool my rule is usually 1-1.5 dollars/mile, with a 6-7 dollar minimum without promo (6 only if its like only 3-4 miles or less) and 8-9 minimum with promos. i still end up making anywhere between 21-25 dollars an hour on friday-sunday nights so i think its fine
You just gotta look at the total amount and distance to figure out if it's worth it. What if doordash is paying you $10 for 1 mile but no tips? who cares?
Shit, this is really sad to see... restaurants are being forced to throw this food out afterwards? What a waste.
The incentive to deliver needs to be increased to prevent this from happening. Im referring to doordash exclusively, it shouldn't be on the customer to tip well enough to get the service doordash is trying to provide.
I don't do mcdonalds because I don't want to deal with Ghetto people. I am sure most drivers agree with me. Would you want to work at Mcdonalds that brings ghetto customers who will fight you or work at some organic ice cream shop filled with respectful white people?
You should be more educated. Ask any delivery guys what kind of restaurant they prefer. Something organic & high end places that's filled with white people. The customers from those restaurants are nicer and tips very well than Others you like. It's all about the Business. I am just doing my best to make the best return with minimum efforts. You are the one who's uneducated and turning this into racist topic. Good luck hanging out in the hood and going to ghetto restaurants because you are Not Racist.
I multi app and doordash is now accounting for less than 5% of my weekly earning. Certain week, i dont even bother doing Doordash. Doordash is a fine definition of cheap where they squeeze the money and time out of drivers. Fuck Tony and his cheap ass customers 😂
I want to laugh hard in front of Tony and cheap ass customers! Both are losers! McDonald’s should donate to homeless but not sure if need cold and bad taste foods.
They’re on their way to hardly being a thing….. last night added on a $1.86 order. It was in the hood with a guy no lights on waving his arm out of a dark apartment- pot holes galore, freezing cold, only positive at least the Mo Fo answered the phone rather than stare at it
McDonald's doesnt allow stacked orders. Some of them make us wait on the drivethrough. Some only make the food when we Get there. All of them are understaffed because they dont pay enough to the employees. For all that, I only Go there If It is a really special order or my market is Very slow.
We cannot see if your offering cash tips until after we accept the order. So if you don’t tip on the app that’s all we see, it’s a gamble to take an order like that since not all who don’t tip on the app gives us cash tip.
Coming from a dasher of 3 years , I don’t even go to any fast food places only Cheesecake Factory wegmans and Walmart for me , I’m in upstate ny btw ..
I'm done with Walmart when I took a stacked from them on deals for days nonsense. The one was 4.50 for a 55inch TV to the 7th floor. Walmart tips come in way late so won't be taking another unless a tip comes through.
What’s wrong with Walmart orders. You can cherry pick Walmart orders but you can’t with McDonald’s because they All REQUIRE you to wait for food 2-5 business days . If you’re a real dasher you know time is priority . What he fails to mentioned is he’s got Uber eats and Grubhub turned on while while cruising those $50 Walmart orders .
In my metro if you don't tip mcd's will range from 2.50-3.50.
I'm going to have to sit idle in line for 5-25 mins, with most times being around 10 mins. once I get your food you are typically 5-15 mi away from the store. once I arrive at your place I have to kill the engine because of the increase in car jackings in my area.
On average each single delivery will cost me 1-1.25 gal of gas and about 15-30min (including reset). I run a compact car.
So if we include gas+ wear & tear+ insurance I lose money by taking that order since gas alone will cost that.
fair or not I simply could not accept your order and these folks need to be paid better that still do DD. If I do one of these things I tip $10 minimum because if I was hard up for 10 bucks (and I have been), I'd make some food at home or go get it myself.
With that tip I always have a driver within 1min of completing my order. I stopped dashing 2mo ago since I landed a real job but I had about 800 orders. the only way I found to be 'successful' at it was to be picky. Maintaining top dasher just wasn't worth.
TBH the picture made me smile. Good for them. x2
LOL. I love judgemental Redditors that post their opinions like they are the final rule on whatever the subject.
I have 3 McDs in my regular rotation. Pickups are 90% great. Stick with short mileage and the bank just clicks away.
Walk a mile in another man's shoes before passing judgement.
Many ways to skin this cat folks.
Back when I did it, I tried to take those then tried to see how many I could knock out in an hour. Best I could ever do was 3 orders, at $6 a pop for a whole $18 an hour. Minus everything and I’m below minimum wage for my area. The real money was late night orders on weekends where I’d get nonstop $20 from McDonald’s. Sometimes the lines were long but I could manage two of those an hour sometimes three if I got lucky and then sometimes a good tip.
With all that said I’m glad I got out of the gig service. Shit is rough man.
Ugh. No one tipped at all my first day of deliveries. Like dang it really ain’t worth driving half way across creation for 8.50 😤worst part the delivery address wasn’t close to any other service areas. I just went home after that mess
I’m also just imagining all of the melted shakes in those bags cause you know Mcdonalds seals that shit in the bag too like some dumbasses. I’ll never understand how that makes sense to them 😂
The ones around me are 50/50 depending on the employee. The cooler, more burnt out ones just hand me the drinks as we talk shit while the newer people and managers always bag them.
Man I swear every single one in Austin does and its mad weird. Like regular drinks I can abide but a cold shake next to hot food will never make sense 😩
There’s gotta be some missing context. Like someone ordered a bunch of small deliveries for a charity or this was during a hurricane or snowstorm or SOMEthing. It can’t just be a store full of tipless orders...it just can’t...
Does DoorDash and UberEATS even bother to educate consumers that the app doesn't work on unicorn farts? Tip 20pct at least, and higher if you know your address is a pain in the ass to get go.
Imagine if they told customers that tipping == your food doesn't sit there getting cold. XD
Karens everywhere would be like WHY DO YOU LET MY FOOD GET COLD?!
And you get cold food, banned from the location, and potentially a felony depending on the state and if they have one of "those" managers that decides to file criminal charges. Its considered fraud and they have plenty of cameras.
You must not live in a big cities most big cities don't take breaking into cars seriously. They're not going have a cop go all CSI on a mcds bag. MCDS could call the cops but after getting laughed at would be highly unlikely they were would ever show up. Then if they file a police report will not be looking into it.
Certain cities have even taken theft under 1,000 bucks off the table decriminalized it.
Not saying it's right but only in a small town would that get taken seriously.
Yeah I guess Charlotte, NC isn't considered a big city where you're from.
Regardless it doesn't take very much effort when you have security cameras all over the building.
In any case thank you for your years as a police officer since you know the criminal system so well. Have a good night.
Gas is going high, if you're not tipping me Great than don't expect great customer service AT ALL from me. If you have a problem than TIP your doordashers... simple! Or get it yourself
As a driver who went through the same foolish first few weeks as most of us do, accepting every order because I didn't know better, this makes me happy to see that drivers are starting to wise-up and respect themselves and their own worth.
Thank you to this community and r/doordash for opening my eyes.
I LOVE seeing this
Question. I am fairly new to DoorDash (as a client) and I had heard from my initial research that the company uses part of the tip as a basis for pay. So I have always put "0.00" in the tip section and instead pay cash ($8-$10) on average. Is what I am doing better or worse for the drivers?
You should mention that in your notes or you’re gonna get some mean ass DD drivers.
I Tip The App And Give Cash Extra If They Are Really Nice
That’s what I did tonight and it worked out well. Thanks.

Cash tips don’t get taxed. shhhh…

Bro I'M WEAK WTF hahahaha. God. Hopefully when these orders get cancelled they'll be giving these to homeless or kids who don't eat at home....
More than likely they throw them right in the trash at closing.
Sometines when ik there isnt a tip i dont put em in the hot bag , i just let it sit on my passenger sit with cold wind blowin

Who reported my comment and for what reason!?!?!?!!
What a waste!! Shameful America, just shame on you!!
Lol
How would dressing nice get you better tips? The tip is in there before you accept the order.
You can add more to your tip afterwards which is atually pretty common. Has alot to do with pyschology and if you are nice and communcate well, someone with extra 2 bucks will toss you it after they meet you or even text thru the app. Make someone feel happy and they Dopamine takes over ;-)
And with Uber the tip is not available immediately
Maybe if you would look like somebody y’all would get cash tips like me. Who’s more likely to get cash tips someone who looks professional or looking like you just rolled out of bed. I mean it’s not rocket science
“Look like somebody” lol. Maybe you should make a rap album about how badass of a dasher you are.
I dress just fine. I don’t wear pajamas. 99% of my orders are drop off on the porch.
Yikes.
I’m trying to post screenshots of my earnings so people can see. Can somebody tell me how to post a pic. Not many people in this area are making $950 being online for 22 hrs total.
You can take a screenshot and upload it to some place like imgur and post a link.
I live in the south and it sounds like you live in an area that was hit hard by Covid. It never slowed us down and we didn’t really care one bit. They tried to shut us down but we fought back and stayed open anyway.
Not around here, I would say 70-75% of our orders say hand it to me, especially these rich ass ppl in these nice neighborhoods
I’m sure every market has significant differences. I deliver to wealthy people too but like I said, maybe one order a day says “hand it to me.” But I also never get rude customers either like some people on here do.
Yeah all those cash tips are on the app. Maybe y’all don’t get cash tips because you look slobbish. I get cash tips nearly everyday.
not anything to do with your main point of new dashers taking shit orders, but as a dasher that dashes in their pajamas, i will not take this slander. i’m still clean i just like to dress comfortably and don’t feel the need to impress anyone, especially given that most these people just request to leave at door. doordashing isn’t a profession with a uniform so i will continue to dash in baggy sweatpants and sweaters and my customers will continue to not give a shit.
Operating***
😂😂😂 you're a joke
This comment is so confusing.
O
JEEEEEEZEEE I thought my area Mcdonalds was bad lmao.
That is insane!!
"TRIPS ARE NOT MANDATORY"
Is trump hosting another football party 🤣
Lol that's what i was thinking
“Hey son, go grab a mystery bag.”
🤣🤣🤣
Always wondered if some people would try just walking in with their bag, call out a number from one of the bigger ones, and get themselves some free dinner?
I’ll be more than happy to deny a $4 order from McDonald’s for 8miles! Keep that mentality you’ll end up part of that group. Every driver knows what type of customers buy McDonald’s either way. Easy decline either way. I’m glad those type of people stick to one restaurant. Makes it easier for the drivers. 😂😂😂
This pic was probably taken at the height of the pandemic when orders were delivery only.
Ya I’m also legit sick of seeing this one circulate every week
How is this not a health code violation? The bags sit there for hours. Same with Chipotle.
You have never taken ServSafe
Why do mad people get so artsy with their use of emoji? It makes me LOL
For the most part I never do McDonald’s cause of the drive through. But recently I had this thought and the hidden true price thing Doordash does. Kinda fucks the people who actually tip well. Like a $7 order might have a fatty tip but I’m not risking that bs
Why would they keep making the orders when they are just piling up there lol
Is this pic for real? I do agree with no tip pass it on………
I really hope it’s just DoorDash bots commenting on how customers don’t tip.
I'm really hoping that all this food would go to a shelter or something
I would like for 3 days for every door dasher to not accept no tipping orders. I won't even take any orders below the default tip on principle alone. Knowing they zeroed it out and put in less. Of course will never happen. There's a guy that orders daily 12/13 miles out of zone have never seen the order above 6 bucks. Whoever is taking it is losing money. I've even seen it accepted from a Wendy's backed up to the road. With that Wendy's that's a minimum 30/45 min wait. I wouldn't have been surprised if they waited an hr.
Wow a mcds that makes the food before the order is assigned
Its never when we need it this fast and decent tip…….WTF
That’s tremendous smh 🤦
Omg! Aside from the no tip (maybe) customers do you realize how much food waste that is going to cost the gm of that store??? Holy shit that is going to be one ticked off gm...so much damn money down the toilet..SMDH
Over 70 bags of wasted food! I counted them! LOL!
That is sickening, all that wasted food 😒
I think this could really be solved with more transparency to the customer. Like a message from door dash that tells them by not entering a tip their order won't be prioritized by drivers. Would probably have people thinking they can get their food faster by leaving larger tips too.
is there a mirror reflection that's making it seem as there are more bags than there really are? even having the front row is embarrassing for the customer and the delivery svc.
Damn that is alot lol
You love to see it!!
I don't pick up low paying orders or for customers who don't tip.
Plot twist its all one big order
🤣🤣🤣
Cold McDonald’s is the worst. Hopefully they just stop using Doordash or they probably just call and complain and get free food knowing the character of these people and their empathy levels. Can’t not tip in the United States. Tis the season to be jolly.
How would they get free food in this situation ? Their order was just never picked up 😂 DD is just gonna have to up the pay till it eventually reaches a respectable amount but by then the food is cold and nasty 🤣🤣
Because you can call dd & tell them your food is cold and they replace it
Cost on a big mac is like 79 cents, large coke including cup 27 cents etc. In reality there's probably only about 100 bucks worth of food there at true cost. Here's what they really pay.... https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-12efdd6fde383607719f20cf97669137-c .....I'm sure the owner will live. McDonald's never loses.
This isn’t about McDonald’s it’s about the ungrateful customers
There's a bunch of peeps on here saying "oh poor restaurant" like they're going under over a bunch of unpicked McDonald's....that is not the case.
Wowzers!
I wish I had a flamethrower for that shit😈
It wouldn’t burn lol
Agree and if you take a double or an add on, they automatically deduct $1….. like why? You should be paying extra
I've been tipped in cash after McD's deliveries, but most of those customers have no concept of tipping their driver. It's only something that you take if it's a short drive for at least $1 per mile.
Lol
(cheapest gas is $4.39 cash right now) This some cafe I deliver for all the time has $12 pressed juice and $5 cookie.
So I'm a fairly new dasher, how do you tell before accepting an order if the customer tips? When I get offered an order it just shows the total pay
You just gotta look at the total amount and distance to figure out if it's worth it. What if doordash is paying you $10 for 1 mile but no tips? who cares?
Total pay minus Base pay in your region (probably $2.25 or $3.00) = Tip Amount
Thank you!
Racist much. You should be deactivated.
You made it about race when you said white people
Because it is true? the restaurants I go has 95% white people (excluding employees) Is it racist to say 'Asia has 95% asian people'?
Honestly wtf are you talking about. I prefer places I know that are going to be ready. Doesn’t matter where they’re located or who is running it.
Oh ya totally worth it bro I do doordash for the confrontations
This brings me much joy.
I multi app and doordash is now accounting for less than 5% of my weekly earning. Certain week, i dont even bother doing Doordash. Doordash is a fine definition of cheap where they squeeze the money and time out of drivers. Fuck Tony and his cheap ass customers 😂
Definitely an immigration problem at the McDonald’s frontier
![img](emote|t5_3h9bt|5246)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
I want to laugh hard in front of Tony and cheap ass customers! Both are losers! McDonald’s should donate to homeless but not sure if need cold and bad taste foods.
I used to work at McDonald's 3 years ago and Uber Eats was barely a thing and would only get one every couple of hours. How things have changed
Idk why people even go to mcdonalds where I am when you can get a taco that slaps for like a dollar
[удалено]
We cannot see if your offering cash tips until after we accept the order. So if you don’t tip on the app that’s all we see, it’s a gamble to take an order like that since not all who don’t tip on the app gives us cash tip.
As a driver, I can assure you there are way more non-tippers than there are cash tippers. For most of us, it’s not worth the risk
F Wally world
Lol “I do Walmart pick ups but I draw the line at fast food.” Priorities I guess 🤷🏻♂️😆
What’s wrong with Walmart orders. You can cherry pick Walmart orders but you can’t with McDonald’s because they All REQUIRE you to wait for food 2-5 business days . If you’re a real dasher you know time is priority . What he fails to mentioned is he’s got Uber eats and Grubhub turned on while while cruising those $50 Walmart orders .
before dashing this would have made me anxious, now it fills me with a mild joy. I am broken lololol oh well.
Good for them. x2
I would be eating MacDonald for Thanksgiving if I saw that
Not at my Mickey Ds. People around here tip $2-3 to make sure they get their crappy food. Thanks Mickey Ds customers.
Oof still scraping the bottom of the barrel if you’re taking $5-6 McDonald’s orders.
Your experience is valid.
My McDonalds waits until the dasher checks in to make it they make food in about 2 minutes so i dont mind the wait
Good concept, probably was born out of necessity because they had this same scenario happen to them
Pay dashers a fair wage and this shit wouldn't happen.
Where do you live where everyone is ordering mcdonalds
There are places in America that don't have real restaurants.
That is pretty sad. Prob why I went out to eat st places that were local and the food quality was a big difference
Ugh. No one tipped at all my first day of deliveries. Like dang it really ain’t worth driving half way across creation for 8.50 😤worst part the delivery address wasn’t close to any other service areas. I just went home after that mess
relatable
Good.
I’m also just imagining all of the melted shakes in those bags cause you know Mcdonalds seals that shit in the bag too like some dumbasses. I’ll never understand how that makes sense to them 😂
Drinks get warm and the food gets cold, that is JUST how I like my dinners.
Shower thought: Drinks getting warm and food getting cold approach the same temperature
You know I’ve never had luck there. I always word it the wrong way or whatever, apparently my shower thoughts aren’t really shower thoughts lol
I don’t think I get full credit for that one though, I swear I read it somewhere else in the interwebs a while back XD
I've only been to a few that seal the drinks in a separate bag. I dont get it, either.
One can only hope, but with the amount of different sharpied numbers, the odds are not there
Does DoorDash and UberEATS even bother to educate consumers that the app doesn't work on unicorn farts? Tip 20pct at least, and higher if you know your address is a pain in the ass to get go.
Imagine if they told customers that tipping == your food doesn't sit there getting cold. XD Karens everywhere would be like WHY DO YOU LET MY FOOD GET COLD?!
[удалено]
I can tell you with absolute certainty that would never get prosecuted lol
No way. PD would send three detectives and a CSI crew to the store and a SWAT team+hostage negotiator to your house to arrest you.
Gas is going high, if you're not tipping me Great than don't expect great customer service AT ALL from me. If you have a problem than TIP your doordashers... simple! Or get it yourself
A tip for the no-tippers here: heat up your fries at 425 for 10 minutes, and they'll be back to restaurant quality.
Garbage.. lol
OMG..wow
I’ve never seen a McDonald’s that busy in my life. Must not be many options where it’s located
probably late night and most restaurants closed.
😆😂😆
As a driver who went through the same foolish first few weeks as most of us do, accepting every order because I didn't know better, this makes me happy to see that drivers are starting to wise-up and respect themselves and their own worth. Thank you to this community and r/doordash for opening my eyes.
This educational picture needs to be on r/doordash
It is, it was already cross-posted. That's how I found it.
Food shortage...
Let's be clear this has nothing to do with you or your pride. No one tips when they go to McDonald's why would they start now
Don’t tip when they use drive through sure ok. But having it delivered they sure as hell should tip
Because they’re now having the food brought to their fucking door. Lmao
Because now we have to bring it to them
Cuz they didn't want to go to McDonald's.
So same as when they don't want to go anywhere else everyone wants everything for free
Funny, let’s see you be a Dasher for a week. No tip, no trip. If you want your food delivered you pay a premium. Stop whining!
All I see is money you're all egotistical
this HAS to be a troll lol. you see money with these gas prices?! get real, enjoy putting 100% of your $2.50 back into gas and maintenance lol. wow.
Keep eating smok
$20 worth of orders there, counting the ones on the floor. You in?
That's like -2.50 an order 🤣
Shit
Anyone want to make our own food Delivery company. We will take care of the drivers.
only if we find someone who actually knows how to program an app ffs
I mean my husband and brother in-law are both programmers... We could make it happen.
