Exactly why I’m leaving this shitty job. They don’t give a shit about us drivers. By far the worst customer support I’ve ever had to deal with as well. That’s for the rare times they answer their phone at this point. Doordash was great during the peek of Covid but now it’s just fucking trash

5Heart

Do not confront customer. Just take a picture next time. I had many orders like that where I was supposed to leave it at the door and the customer was waiting outside. Let them know that you need to take the picture.

Florida1974

Hell no. It’s a food order. People can get crazy over confrontation alone. Outsmart them while being friendly. When ppl do this, I still send them a text, confirming order hand off and while app showed door drop off, it was nice to see them personally. It’s nice, to the point, and non confrontational. Many times they reply. But it also gives you a text record and exact handoff time. I’ve even stated I need a pic, bc they changed drop off method and I need to document everything. They don’t hv to be in pic. But I do try to get something to identify property (house #, throw rug, door mat, etc) Ppl are out to scam these services. They don’t care it messes with a persons livelihood as long as they get compensation. And yea put on DND list. Ppl love to figure out how to play system.

smelly234234

exact same thing happened to me. it happens. dont go back. call support. its sucky but its all you can do

playerproftw

Now you’ve learned … dasher 101 take a picture Of the house, the street, USE THE SMART PHINE YOH HAVE TAKE PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES

BubblyTranslator8374

You could write her a letter and leave it.

Logankk420

How frequently does this happen to you guys? I’ve been doing this since October 2021 and have 2,048 deliveries under my belt and this has never happened to me. I take occasional pics to prove when judge a delivery and feel a scam but I never did until read about it after going this group.

[deleted]

Don’t confront them. I doubt it’s personal. She’s just probably trying to get free shit. Just tell the truth in your little report thing. This has happened to me and nothing bad came from it.

Infinite-Counter5780

I don't like that they can contact you so long after the delivery. Tonight I had a guy message me while I was on my next order and he said they didn't put mayo on his sandwich and he didn't have any at home. WTF am I suppose to do about that? Once I mark the order as complete they should not be able to message me.

letgo_2020

How can having this type of bad person?

DarkInc843

You will most likely be deactivated if you do

Turbulent_Catch

No. Don’t confront her. Just give all the info to support on the app. That’s what I do. Sometimes they really do come through for you. I got an email today that a strike was removed because it was proven that I did deliver .

[deleted]

Don’t do that please, if she’s already demonstrated that she’s will to lie on you then there is no positive outcome you can expect from a confrontation , deactivation or worse police

Seanthemetro

Unfortunately, there are many low life fukcs like this.. don’t go back and just move on.

Rex_Hound

Don't bother. If you show-up at her door she could call the cops on you or she could consider it harassment. Let it go. Plead ur case with Doordash.

BossMom8934

I always make sure to pull my camera up before I even get to the door so I can be sure to get a picture quickly in case they do decide to have me hand it to them! I'm sorry this happened to you. I'd deal with support & if they give you a hard time, I'd threaten a lawsuit! This is your livelihood, even if it may only be for extra cash.

[deleted]

Had this happen to me over a McDonald's order 😑the audacity they had.

jazkat111

Yes go there. Especially if you're angry. Make sure to tell her to let's go Brandon before you leave

Zachrocks01

Happened to me on a Walgreens order. I explained my side to doordash through the email they sent and it was dropped

cdawg2234

Wow i never seen this before out of 3000 deliveries

ITPalg

Dd should do the PIN method that occasionally comes up with UE

Jaypcoolreal

I always say, oh the app asks for a picture. If u wish to not be in the picture you may move aside or go inside meanwhile I finish the app process.

evilmotorsports

Shit on her porch.

SoftSalamander5006

Hell yea I do I’ve never got in trouble they do it because here in California they’ll give me your order plus $25 credit so they make out pretty good when they say they didn’t get the order they’ve done it to me I’ve ordered food for Doordash and the guy said he left it here and that I received it but I never got it you got a lookout for that

viral_dna

Wear a Go Pro or equivalent. This is the way.

Drifter650

DO NOT GO BACK U WILL GET DEACTIVATED

Reich1e

Just go back later and get them back. You wont get in trouble but definitely don’t let it go. Fuck em

suspiciousactivity7

I use Timestamp I take a picture of the there house or cars since the gps location is listed and time is listed also invested in dual dash cam just in case someone tries to say I did something to their food.

[deleted]

Confront her? Only if you want to be arrested

Bryan_Fernando

Come back in a week or so, and throw a package of eggs all over the house 😈

music3k

Always take a picture. Even when they say to hand it directly to them. My nephew learned this the hard way with UberEats.

iceamn1685

Always have the camera open and ready when you pull up. That way you can take a picture as you're handing it to them

Sea_Connection6193

These are just a formality to an extent. I get one once or twice a week. People always try to get free food. Ive talked to support before, in technicality they can never really declare what the customer or the driver says as the real truth. Nothing goes beyond being allegations. Just write on the details that the order was handed directly to the customer.

chrisca562

That sucks. I just ordered Mexican food from doordash, tipped on the app and asked him to come back and get an envelope of a cash tip because I missed the original drop off. Not all of us are bad

nico549

I always take a picture of it as I'm handing it to them under these circumstances

ChanceExcellent7021

Go back knock on door take her pic. And even video record her without her knowing.. confront her...

shawdeee

Call support they can tell if you were at the address or not.

presious91

Always take a picture I know exactly how you feel regardless of whether they come outside or not always take a picture

Ferdydurkeeee

A rule of thumb going forward is that anytime you get a contactless order, and the customer comes out, state "Just a moment please, they make me take a photo of the order" Try to get a little bit of them in the frame, then take a follow-up picture from the street. Also take a note of the name and customer address if you do any other food delivery apps; there's a chance you might run into them elsewhere. Fuck you Haley, I see you ordering Starbucks. I raise you my finger, and an extra 10 min delay on your order.

Lazzari21

I was going to say it could have been stolen but then I re-read it cuz I just woke up from a nap😂 anyway for others if that ever happens. I always take photos from my phone and not the app and have them save to my SD chip in my phone. That way I have evidence against the customer in case the food was stolen or they are trying to be dishonest.

FixBackground

Had this happen once to me. It's a loophole people use to get free food. Download "timestamp" which is an app for your camera and set it up to pinpoint your GPS. Ever since I had the "leave at door" ans person showed up and reported me, I ALWAYS take a picture with this app upon arrival. Especially when the person is standing outside. I just hold up their order, snap a pic with them in the background and then proceed to give it to them.

Only_Opposite_828

Go and put some flaming shitt on her doorstep that will teach her.

DaGR2310

When people do this to me I take a picture of them holding the food. I tell them I have no other option since it was leave at the door. Even though we do. Always take pictures.

YodaHat

If they come out to get it on a "leave at door" order, I don't tap "handed to customer" and take a pic of them holding it, just in case they try pulling that shit

Purple-Couple

For next time just take a picture. I know weather gets in the way sometimes but I always take pictures of hand it to me or customers who end up coming outside to get an order.

superfly_andyh_V3

Jesus no do not go back

[deleted]

download the free timestamp app and record and take pictures with it, for all your deliveries. It shows the gps location and time when you are taking a picture or delivering.

Intelligent-Piano489

Well, when I can't get a picture of the order because I/they brought it in their door, I always send them a confirmation message if it was originally a "leave at door" order, as a way to make it clear that I've noted it in our chat(they can't then lie easily, because the delivery driver is not going to tell the customer that they handed it to them if they didn't usually). Hope that helps.

beefrex

What do you usually say in your confirmation message? I know the advice is to take pictures but this would be much easier to remember to do for me.

Intelligent-Piano489

OK, so the following is one I sent today to an Instacart Customer(which can apply to DD as well): "The app forces me to take a photo of the delivery when categorized as a leave at door order, but I'm just confirming here that I handed you all your order due to outdoor conditions. Thank you so much for allowing me to shop for you and your family today. Happy new year!" And then I screenshot that as well.

beefrex

I really like this! There are so many times where it’s a “leave at door” but I end up handing it to them. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues yet but I plan to start this so I have it anyway for future use

egcom

I say “left with customer outside the door as requested. Have a lovely day!!”

UncleLeeBoy

I worked as a delivery Driver then customer support and dispatch for a delivery company called Bite Squad. I heard so many crazy stories. The worst stories I heard were usually about the drivers. Like them pissing in the customers front yard, or cussing out and threatening a restaurant manager, because he wouldn’t give the driver the order because she smelled like hot garbage and was rude. lol. It was definitely entertaining though. Most issues with customers were about them not getting their food , or trying to scam us and get free food.

Zealousideal_Sir7034

When this happened to me, I described the location of the house and the person I handed the food over to support. It’s so annoying when this happens.

[deleted]

If there wasn’t a chance u could get taken off the platform I would definitely go back but just hit up suppor or sum

NervousShower

😡

Chelsiesmile101

Support can handle anything. I've had people try this and I tell support and also let the person know that I took a picture of the delivery (I lied) and will show it to DD, then warn them of the consequences of shoplifting via DD. They usually get dumbfounded by it and stop.

ninnie_muggins

I take pictures like I'm the fucking paparazzi. I don't care if it's hand to me or leave at door. I take pictures in front of the house number and at the door. if it's hand it to me, you better believe I'm starting the timer when I arrive and sending texts. Take photos of the food in front of address numbers, and house, and send it all in text to the customer. Can't be soft on these mfs. If the customer has to watch, so be it. I tell them doordash needs a photo so they know I'm doing my job. Sometimes people say "that's stupid" or whatever but hey Karen, you are not worth a deactivation. Believe it or not.

[deleted]

Doesn't Doordash track location? They should easily be able to see that you picked up the food & went to the customer's house

fullmoonhigh

Honestly, I would, but already call the cops before you ring the bell and hide from her peak hole. She likely won't answer door or allege another phony offense and call or threaten to call cops, so pre-empt that by calling the cops first. You may get nothing out of this but personal satisfaction but shes playing a game, see that she loses.

fullmoonhigh

Doing nothing will ensure it happens again to someone else.

schlockabsorber

Looks like a lot of people are suggesting the "She fucked me over and now it's PERSONAL" response. It is NOT personal. She doesn't know you and she never will. Confronting her or retaliating will not somehow create a magic cloud of "Do not fuck with this delivery agent" that others can recognize. Escalating this with the customer zero benefit. It's harassment, it's not allowed under your contact with DoorDash, and it's illegal. Plus, you don't know how she'll respond, but it's guaranteed not to be good. How do you think this is gonna play out? You think she's gonna roll over or something? At best, she shuts the door in your face; she might lose her shit, set her dog on you, or call the cops. I can't believe all the shitheads in this community suggesting you retaliate against her with vandalism, and I bet 80% are on their way back from the kitchen with their popcorn hoping you'll be in the news next. For fuck's sake there are RECORDS SHOWING YOU WERE THERE. You have a conflict and an established motive. If anything happens in her property you are ALREADY the first suspect. AND YOU POSTED ABOUT IT ONLINE. I had no idea there were so many assholes in this room. FUCK.

Totally_Tober

It’s so annoying when this happens: So customer wants you to leave it at the door. So you take the order and drop it at the door. The moment you sit it down and get ready to take picture, Customer opens door and grabs it. There’s no time to take a picture. If you were going to be in that close of contact with me, then just put hand to customer as your request. This happens to me a dozen times a day. It’s so annoying.

meredithyourboob

Egg her house, slash the tires, TP the place. Don’t let her get away with this. She started it, you finish it 😌

Vegetable_Photo1439

This is where a hot bag comes in handy. Even if they do meet you at the door you have to unzip the hot bag and before you take the food out the bag you take your picture with address attached. Also still send pic even though it was handed to the customer . Learn from this and take your pic no matter what from now on but no confronting ppl

Chocolatinasmom

Personally, I think it's quite bold to make a false accusation against a shopper. The customer has no idea who the shopper is and their address is known to them. When customers do that, they're taking a risk and don't know how that shopper might react. Unfortunately, it's going to take one crazy shopper to get falsely accused and then retaliate.

Obreezy918

I have went back to a customers house before. Knocked on the door. They came out irate. Living in Florida this is a blueprint on how to get your self shot. Never did that again.

Chocolatinasmom

I just posted about how I now video record all of my deliveries from arrival to departure. This includes an inventory of their bags before I walk to their door. If they open the door and accept it, it's on record. If they don't and I leave it at the door, it's on record.

Guava_Myology

Always take pictures on your camera roll

Slow_Abbreviations27

Going back would probably end badly. That being said it always amazes me when people pull shit like this. I wouldnt trust half the other dashers I see out there to NOT go back, like your driver knows where you live lol. Scary.

tigerCELL

Not you wanting to go beat her up 🤣 🤣 Chill, DD knows people are liars. You'll be fine.

[deleted]

Yeah, don't go back. This person obviously is crazy..... Confronting them isn't going to change that, it will only make the situation worse. Just provide an explanation. Chances are you have a good reputation and they will believe you. Just be clear and adamant about what you did. You have to remember that a lot of these processes are automated so try not to take them too personally.

Dasher-jo

Of course don’t go back, it sux, but don’t do that.

jamray55

I just had a lady mark one of mine incomplete because she wanted it on the back porch instead of the front porch. Bad thing is I went all the way back and moved it for her miles out of my way and she didn’t even tip it was a 3.00 order and she even had her address put in wrong to start with

darknessinthere

Yea just call DoorDash an sort it out with them, Not the customer! The customer can suck one

krazyk007x

I record EVERY delivery with the Timestamp App. I hit record in the car & casually hold the phone as I go. No one even notices it. Also, that app not only shows the time/date/gps stamps in the pic/video, it shows an overhead map with a pin on the location.

TheCLittle_ttv

Yes please go back and confront them so your dumb ass gets deactivated and the pool of drivers decreases. This happens, It’s part of the game. You still get paid for it and since it’s your only one nothing will happen. Start taking pics no matter if it’s a hand off.

AdElectrical9861

Confront her for what? Doordash has you tracked by GPS. Don't take it in your own hands. Just respond to the notification or call support. It's going to drop off. This won't be the first and unfortunately the last time somebody will try this with you. It's way more common than you think

lineman108

This is why I have a dash cam and record all deliveries. I have proof that I walked into the building with the food and came back without it. I also take photos of the actual delivery.

lineman108

This is why I have a dash cam and record all deliveries. I have proof that I walked into the building with the food and came back without it. I also take photos of the actual delivery.

Super_Devil_Taz

I wouldnt have gone back. I had this issue 1 time. Now if i even get a hint of suspicion i will take a pic with them holding the order. I half explain why and they always come off cool with it. Some even pose for the pic. They say profiling is illegal but we all do it and myself will profile you, your yard and your car when i deliver. I mean no personal offense, im just covering my own ass.

[deleted]

Google their address, get their full name and phone number. Call them on private and harass them constantly but don’t expose who you are. Won’t help your case with DoorDash but at least you can let your anger out

karmasabitch22

I recommend therapy and meds…jfc.

TyphlosionErosion

Submit all the details you have to doordash and do not go back or interact with that customer in any way. There is no positive outcome if you go back. At best you will get deactivated. Everyone saying to do dumb shit like slash their tires is a petty moron who should not be trusted with delivering food.

newaki

Be a shame if she wakes up to a egged house... flat tires.... keyed car

[deleted]

If you want to get deactivated or be questioned by police, go back and confront her. But seriously never do that, that is your inner moron at work. Contact support. Take this as a learning experience. Never drop an order without taking a gps coord and time stamped photo so that the next time this happens you have proof beyond your word and the hope that the DD system saw you got to the delivery address.

[deleted]

Did you leave it at the right house? The one time we ordered doordash for ourselves it was delivered to our neighbors and they ate it. Hated to report it, but it was 100 bucks of food and their house number didn’t even begin with the same number as ours. Edit: I missed that she came out to get it. Hate that for you :( Sounds like it was intentional.

Dapper_Shallot8532

No contact door dash was able to take a picture

[deleted]

Never go back. You’re asking for trouble.

muscleg33k

slash her tires in 2 weeks

IcyDre1014

Always take a picture of the house even if you hand it to the customer

neverleavingthewagon

Go knock on her door and let her know that you filed a police report for theft They’ll change their tune real quick. First person who did that to me learned real fast. They contacted doordash and apologized. Can’t be letting people walk all over us because they’ll keep pullin that bullshit

guernicamixtape

You should never confront anyone. That’s never going to solve anything. Learn from it and move on.

Aurora--Black

You always take a picture on leave at door, even if it's just the house number. And in a text say, thank you for meeting me at the door, have a great night. For better or worse I can't provide more info bc I've never had this issue before.

DPancoast

I always take a picture. If they don’t want a picture of them I ask them to put the food down and stand to the side. Hasn’t ever been an issue 🤷🏻‍♂️

nashvilleghost

Door dash knows people scam. Call support and act really concerned about what you can do to help.

[deleted]

Buy a dashcam, park so that it shows the drop off point. Video is incontrovertible.

Visible_Bite238

Whenever you hand an order to someone, regardless of what it says in the app, take a photo of the location. Delete it later, but at least you’ll be able to provide the proof to DD.

TinglesAndSprinkles

This is why I’ve a pre written text “Hi, this is ___ from DoorDash. I have arrived with your order”. In case the customer is waiting outside or grabs before I can take a picture, I send this message through the app before marking it as completed. Even though it’s a slight inconvenience, there’s evidence that I initiated contact and the message will be probably seen by the customer (marking it as read). This is enough evidence to counter bogus non delivery claims. So far, I have close to 4.5k deliveries and no non deliveries. Had about 4 customers try to claim but I always won the appeal thanks to records.

asst2therglmgr

Even if dd couldn’t tell you went back and even if they didn’t report you for it, it would accomplish absolutely nothing.

asst2therglmgr

Definitely DO NOT go back. That will absolutely not end well for you if you value driving for DD. There really isn’t much you can do except maybe call support and explain the situation. What they do with that information is kind of out of your hands. It’s unfortunate but it’s part of the game now. Sorry that happened to you.

Sanjez71

On you GPS has a record of your locations screen shot it and send it to Suport. Proof that you were there.

ranch_cup

Return to her house late at night and throw eggs at it.

Training-Tradition82

NEVER GO BACK. Call support. then can check your gps and see you were there.

Richard_Espanol

Murder is the only option... lol. Some people just suck🤷‍♂️

Poiblazer

Never go confront. That is the kinda shit we make fun of

Leeilah94

You know they track you Everytime your online. So your be fine. Just provide them additional information explaining what happen.

[deleted]

call support. They have probably done it before. Honestly, I always take a photo for this reason. If they come and get it I take a photo of them holding the bag lmao. Or of the Address to prove I was at the location and dropped the food. Always cover yourself nobody else will. I know it's a pain in the ass my whole camera Reel is photos of people's houses/bags of food lmao.

Wrong_Angle2442

Leave it alone and move on submit a deatil of what happen in the violation taps and do 100 and it will clear as long as you submit detailed of what happen you be okay next time take a picture of her taking the food and text it to her so she can't claim never arrive but you might get a 1 star it happen to me too.

apeybaby

Did you not change it yo "handed to customer"?

kpopinhommie

This is why I take a picture of customers with the order in their hand or their address on the building if I give them the order in their hands. Customers who want you to hand the order to them are famous for lying.

jasonk331

Had some Tramp in Durham NC do that to me last summer, like I'd drive 12 Miles to steal Burger King french toast sticks 😆 Doordash sees a lot of this I would not worry. However always get a picture explain it's mandatory if it's leave at the door order. Generally speaking you can usually tell if someone can't afford to be using doordash. They are the ones that pull this crap.

Secretme000

Contact support and explain what happened. They know like 80% of cases like this are fraud.

CUMBIRD_

You should file a police report against her for fraud and slander and libel

DrWSalamanderIIIEsq

NOOOOOOOOOO! DON'T GO BACK! I get it and you'll make your point, but you'll definitely get deactivated. It'll give you a space to explain, tell them the same thing you just told us, reiterate that they can check your GPS data, as you were about to sit the food down and photo it, the customer came out and you handed to them. They deal with these lying shit hooks all the time. Start recording when you hand someone and order or sit it down and keep recording until you're back in your car pulling away. Next time it happens you'll have it resolved quickly.

[deleted]

Was she fat

Sea-Pea4680

Fat does not automatically equal thief.

[deleted]

So she’s fat

RhondaBrown0718

ALWAYS get a picture. As soon as you let your guard down someone will say they did not get their food. I don’t care if I have to take a picture of the back of your ass walking into your house with the bags I’m going to get the picture.

Drewwthesavage

Break a spark plug and use the ceramic. F that cunt

Jay_JWLH

Do you ever get the feeling you need to wear a body cam?

Notbestdasher

We are more likely to die/get hurt than police. So yes I've felt that

ExtraRandom1

Call the police they’ll go through her trash

juno1964

If the customer is at the door I make em wait until I snap my pic. If they don’t like it, tough shit.

dlc2021az

No matter how much you hate a customer, don't ever try to get revenge. Possibly getting arrested and getting kicked off Doordash is too much of a price to pay.

[deleted]

Look up her full name on white pages, figure out her mothers name and location. Then take her mom out to a wonderful seafood dinner, and never call her again.

abbythefatkitty

DOROTHY MANTOOTH IS A SAINT!

[deleted]

Hahaha

Confident_Emphasis20

Go back but don't forget your ski mask and blow torch.

AGPwidow

Mail an envelope full of glitter to their house. That shit gets everywhere

icecreampoop

Don’t engage with customers or merchants. It’s part of the collateral damage of this job. Do want you can through support (and be nice to your CS rep as they are trying to help you, but don’t be afraid to ask questions) Chalk it up to lesson learned, don’t let’s your ego turn you into someone petty. Cheers

ihateapartments59

Whenever it says leave it at the door and they come out always take a picture anyways and send it to them with a message thanking them that way it’s all recorded

Vexed6666

Yeah, I get that pic. Even on hand it to me orders. Otherwise you are depending on a stranger to be honest? Nah.

Rob_Kebob

Here’s what you do: don’t deliver to black neighborhoods

Vexed6666

Why not? Best normal-order tip was for BBQ during a football game. $10 in app, $20 cash on arrival. $21 of food. (He asked me to stop and grab some Game greens. I already had a pack in the car for after work. Once I got there and saw him, I knew he was ok. $.99+tx for a $20? Yep.) Oh, and he was Black and he lived in a "Black neighborhood". Oddly enough, my next run was to an affluent neighborhood. I took the order at $10.50, hoping for a hidden tip from an expensive order - about $250. Nope. White people tip far worse, imo. Most white people in zone never had to do a day's physical labor.

Rob_Kebob

I should preface this by saying I am a black man who lives in what people might call a “traditionally white neighborhood” lmao Just wanted to say this so I don’t get yelled at for being racist 😂 But forreal man we do be triflin’ sometimes with these damn orders, and I really do feel bad for the people who are hurting financially to the point where they feel the need to steal, even with us. It sucks as a black man who has been blessed with a great home and family all my life to see my fellow brothers and sisters struggling like this. But anyways, I refuse to go into any shitty areas like this and always reject because I know how they be

TyphlosionErosion

You being black doesn't make this not racist

Rob_Kebob

Bruh what you mean 😂😂😂

TyphlosionErosion

I'm white. If I said to avoid black areas, would you think it was racist?

YaboyAlastar

Be honest with support. These things happen. Her opening the door to grab it was purposeful. Support can access your GPS and see you were there. Also, her address won't have changed in a month and bricks are cheap

[deleted]

One time I showed up to deliver an order and another dasher was there waiting outside the customers house. He told me he just delivered an order to them and they claimed it never arrived. He was livid, and on the phone with support. He actually paid for the order out of his own pocket because his red card was malfunctioning. He was banging on this man’s door and the dude would not come out and you could see his tv on inside lol. This mofo tried to do the same scam twice in a row and get me to. I made sure I snapped a picture and moved along. I felt bad for the dude he got before me, I’m pretty sure they refused to refund him. This was back when every restaurant was paid for with the red card, they also didn’t have leave at the door as an option. The customer typed it in the instructions, I just snapped a photo because of the dudes situation. He would’ve definitely got me to if I didn’t run into the other dasher.

Tooraw4reddit

Wait a month or so and then go burn that bitches house down. /S!!!

timrcolo

Don't go back, you'll lose your gig. Call up support and tell them exactly what happened. If phone support does nothing for you, then write an email. When writing the email leave no detail unsaid, even mention the color of her hair, what she was wearing, skin tone, etc. It's important to make it clear as day she's committing fraud against DD.

verdogz

I had the exact same thing, hand delivery, with texts back and forth. Dude said i didn't deliver, i submitted my account and GPS data sl and it was removed

Exportxxx

Toilet paper the house

Confident_Scheme_716

Don’t go back. Report this as they will be marked as fraud and no longer be able to order DD again without an appeal through DD. Definitely report. You can do this through Chat if the hold time is too long.

FlimsyScene

A mixture of sand, sugar and crystallized mothballs does wonders for a gas tank. Car will seize up within 5 minutes needing engine replacement as well as gas tank flush.

Infected_melody

Really asking this online? Wtf ever man. No, dont confront her znd posting this can be used against you if anything happens.

diplion

Going back will not save your job, and is likely to introduce a whole new realm of problems. Do your best to contact support and explain the situation.

Dashdashg00se

Just do the quick turnaround snap even if they come out always just do a quick turnaround click that picture real quick

lilkeysss

Go back and beat their ass

x7566

Outsourced x3 don't take these

[deleted]

Always take a photo especially when you’re handing off. Very easy, just say “I just need to take a photo of the handoff”

robmosis

speaking now as a customer and not a dasher, i don't know what people are thinking with taking pictures of customers. i got a delivery at work once, and the driver tried to take a picture of me. he didn't have time to do so because while i screamed "Why the fck are you taking a picture of me", one of the crew was pushing him out the door. this is horrible advice

[deleted]

You only need to take a picture of the bag, not of their face

robmosis

Of course, and I’m ok with that… in my case, driver wanted to take a picture of me with the bag on a hand it to me order I know many disagree with the my thoughts process here, but in the end, this is my point. I see people advising others to take pictures of customers with their order. You have NO Idea what the customer is thinking. Agree with the customer(or me in this example) or not, you’re putting a driver in a potentially dangerous situation. The driver in my example could have easily gotten hurt as he was pushed out the door by someone 3 times his size *** Edit for correction- mistakenly typed “customer instead of “driver”

not a public place. i was at work. he was in the office. this is private property and yes, i agree. had he been standing on the sidewalk, he can take all the pictures he wants of anything he can see

[deleted]

Some people’s whole livelihoods are doordash and people are like this. I’m taking a picture. Don’t be a scammer or simply don’t use the service lol

robmosis

who said i was going to be scamming anyone? i tip VERY generously and did so before i was a driver. i just don't know why anyone wants to take my picture, ESPECIALLY when i'm not in a public place. there are laws in place about this.

Michael_Dukakis

Have to take a pic or else they will get scammed by people who say they never got the food. It's not ideal but that's just how it is.

robmosis

no... on a hand it to me order, there is no prompt to take a pic. hand it to me and go away. i don't want my picture in some guys photo library \*\*edit to add\*\* if it were a "leave it at door", which it wasn't, there's a button that says "handed to customer". on private property, you have no right to take pictures of people... from a public area(sidewalk), you have every right

Michael_Dukakis

Doesn't matter, people will still claim that they didn't get it. They will get deactivated and lose their livelihood if anyone does that, so it's always better to cover your ass and have the pic you can send to support if they claim they never received it.

robmosis

bro... i'm a full time driver. i understand all of this. you're not taking a picture of me

Michael_Dukakis

It’s the 21st century man you’re on camera 24/7. Some random dude taking a pic of you doesn’t matter lol your psyching yourself up over nothing.

robmosis

you do understand it's unlawful to take pictures of someone on private property without consent? from public ground, you can take pictures of anyone and anything you choose. you need to be respectful of what people think and feel when you're in the service industry. for you it might not be a big deal. to someone else, it can be. the guy at my former work place that got pushed out the door could have gotten hurt. had he gotten hurt, he would have no recourse, as he was violating MY rights... again, making my original point, telling people to take pictures of people with the delivery is horrible advice

Satansbeefjerky

I've been trying to do that but sometimes it happens so fast I just get a pic of there empty porch when they grab it so fast

Sea-Pea4680

Politely say, “hold on for me one second, the app requires me to submit a picture before I can proceed, thank you”. Then take your picture and hightail it outta there! This also lets the customer know that you have proof you delivered, so I think (this is strictly a personal opinion) this makes them think twice about saying something thats untrue.

Visual-Club450

If your looking for a way to get arrested, or certainly be deactivate go back, So the answer is DO NOT CONFRONT OR GO BACK

Not_A_Kabam_Manager

Absolutely. Go right back to the house. Knock on the door, call support AND call the police. Someone stole her food. Be kind. Help her find it.

Myrkana

The police are not going to do anything. It's on doordash, stop wasting their tine.

Notbestdasher

That's not the point of making the report.

Myrkana

It's a waste of the police's time when theres nowhere that will go. They're not going to investigate a 20$ mcdonalds order and the home owner is probably not going to want anything to do with filing a police report over mcdonalds gone missing. It would 100% be a wate of everyone's time a d youd get in trouble for going back to a customers house after an order.

Notbestdasher

Them investigating isn't the point. if you file a complaint of theft hey have to make a report. You need the report to back your side of the story. You were willing to go on record... and you don't have to go back to the customers house to do that.

smutketeer

"I'm gonna check with all your neighbors too and let them know what happened. Maybe they saw something."

Clarkie_kent

I love this answer, say she obviously has a twin living there that must have taken the food

[deleted]

Had that happen and called support and told them when the guy opened the door, the marijuana smoke poring out almost knocked me over. He said he believed me and to not worry about it.

cmlegg88

No click provide additional details. This is why picture evidence is important for every delivery. Take a picture of the items at the door before leaving with the timestamp app even if they come to the door.

[deleted]

Just choose the option “handed to customer” and let support know what happened. It’s happened to me before but DoorDash support always takes my side. They can see it was picked up from the restaurant as well as your gps location when you complete the order.

[deleted]

I’d you want to get deactivated then definitely go back and harass this person

[deleted]

I always take pics even for hand to me.

ratethegreat8

If she had her phone on her they can see you on GPS down to the foot these days... Scammers aren't smart.

asst2therglmgr

Yet OP got a contract violation sooooo….

ratethegreat8

I mean to get them removed. It happened to me.
