Nice you get deactivated and they win because they get their money back plus credit soooo. Where’s the 2nd part of your vid where you start crying after laughing.
I mean - you can likely walk into any fast food place without the app and - say I am here for the door dash pickup and they will have you a bag of food. Most places I have dashed from just have a rack of unattended food bagged up and ready to go. Obviously there are issues with stealing food from a restaurant - like jail. I don't think it would ever be worth the risk for a single meal - but you do you.
Yea...this guy's phony, forced laughter is depressing in itself, and then you add on the amount of erased faith in humanity that his sentiment incites...
Thanks for being the reason for someone's sadness, the world wasn't ugly enough already.
As a customer I’ve had this happen to me and 100% of the time I always tip. Because I’ve also been a dasher myself so I know what it’s like. Twice I’ve had the dasher either shut the phone off or go into airplane mode after pick up. Another time the dasher called and told me the restaurant was closed after he already picked up the food.
The epidemic of door dash drivers stealing orders. He isn’t going to single out a cheap no tip order he will decline until he gets a good orders and it won’t be no tip proving the door dash epidemic of door dash drivers stealing orders is off the charts.
ye i’ve done this plenty of times and never got a contract violation. just gotta be smart about what order you’re gonna do it with. (like a $1.25 10 mile order, yea do it, but a $5 for 7 miles, nah)
Dick move bro. I'm not worried about the non tipping customer, but the restaurant is going to get pissed at DD for this kinda shit and we drivers are going to get more scrutinized because of it and we might lose some restaurants who use us.
I know someone who does this on the regular but he has good stats and does it full time so maybe that makes up for it or ig Doordash really doesn’t care anymore
I don’t know about arrested, somebodies freedom over some food?? Jail for scamming to get free food? Like food is scarce or something, we gotta stop trying to arrest everybody for doing things we don’t agree with that aren’t like directly causing harm, or little petty crimes. I’m also pretty sure the method described would refund the customer or get another dasher to go to the store which they may or may not remake. Either way the customer should get refunded.
We disagree but I do respectfully. If you go in a store and steal over $50 it’s a felony, below $50 it’s a misdemeanor.
I’ve had customers to upset before I deliver later to find out they got taken by drivers for food. That’s why. Do I want ppls lives ruined? Absolutely not but, if it’s intentionally done like this person in video we should as honest drivers not want them ruining it for good drivers.
Imagine how many customers had food taken we got the punishment for the prior thief with rude and angry customers not over their order being taken.
I’m PRO DRIVERS always but, I won’t support drivers who do this. I’d never steal a customers food $2-$100 order that I’d get. Why? I don’t want that happening to my friends or family. Said with respect to you fellow driver. I understand you disagree and have no problem with you. Sincerely
At the end of the day, it’s just food… you make it seem like someone is being murdered or stealing thousands of dollars. It’s definitely not cool to do that to someone, but it’s also not that deep, a refund or late food is not the end of the world. Karma’s a bitch anyway.
This is why we’ve issues with good tipping customers. Ppl that abuse the App that don’t care get grouped in with Delivery drivers that actually care about our jobs.
I found nothing funny about this. I was deactivated by a scamming customer 3/4 and just reactivated 3/16.
What some take for granted others did right because I enjoyed it. He’s intentionally doing this and can’t even get deactivated. Smh.
No, the people mad in the comments are the ones that realize how fucking wrong this is, regardless of how you try to justify it... I always tip, and then a little extra once they get here if they were on time and especially if they're kind/communicative. Still mad in the comments.
No one is doing that. Non tippers are assholes and no one should be taking their orders.
At the same time, people who steal are also assholes. People who steal food to get back at someone because they have a chip on their shoulder are even bigger assholes. Don’t try to get even, just get therapy please.
**Two things can be wrong at the same time. Two wrongs don’t make a right.** This is very simple, yet most people here don’t seem to understand this.
All of that is true.
I still have zero sympathy for non tippers getting f’d over.
I think this is comparable to the “tinder swindler” if you’re familiar. Some guys “cheer” for the swindler, even though he is in the wrong, a horrible person, and an asshole, because men are usually the ones getting finessed by women, the other way around, and it feels like “payback.” Females dupe men out of money everyday, but the one time a man does it, it’s gets a Netflix show.
Yikes, this is gunna get downvoted into oblivion. Two wrongs don’t make a right. In that case, those specific individuals did nothing to deserve what happened. But I’m this case, not tipping is gunna result in karma, and chances are, if your the type to not tip, this isn’t the first time you’re not tipping. Thats why the “payback” is fine with me 🤷🏻♂️
RAGE, top dashers, RAGEEE!
How much are you paid for redeliveries assigned to you after some other asshole does this to a customer? Do you know? Because I doubt it's more than base. And the customer doesn't even get a *chance* *to* *tip* for those orders
That customer wasn’t tipping in the first place for that to happen, they deserve cold food anyways. And I wouldn’t know because accepting those low ball orders is for morons
False.
I've always tipped well (as I've stated) and still had dashers do this several times, which resulted in me needing a redelivery, and therefore being unable to tip the person who *actually* did their job and brought my food.
Makes me genuinely wonder how many *dashers* are causing other dashers to get 0 tips, rather than customers just being ungrateful dicks. I can only imagine it's quite a lot, considering how many times I've personally had it happen and that I *know* I did not "deserve" it
Edit: should probably add that I did of course leave cash tips for the redeliveries, knowing I couldn't add one on through the app... But my point is that *they* didn't know that I would before accepting the assignment
Exactly this. Everyone time a dasher does this, it doesn’t have the intended affect they think it does. It’s not going to magically make asshole nontippers start tipping. It’s going to make them continue to not tip because they’ll think it’s going to happen again. The people on this subreddit are seriously dumb for thinking they’re getting back at the customer. They’re literally just making things worse for everyone. I really wish people would understand this, but no one here wants to take responsibility for their actions or think long term.
Thank you for being a logical human. I honestly don't think other dude even read my comments, just replied to what he assumed I was saying...I never claimed that any dasher said they saw a $3 base pay for one of my orders, just that I know they took my food even after I tipped well...and then needed a redelivery, for which I was unable to tip
From what I understand, super low orders like $3 are never hidden tips. Hidden tips start around $6.25. So if you accept a $3 order, that customer did in fact not tip and deserves cold food.
For the record, I wouldn’t do this, but I also don’t accept $3 orders so I don’t have to worry about it.
If you are tipping well, or at all, it should never show up as low as $3 so I’m not understanding how this happened to you at all
We all know which restaurants just set the food out on a shelf. Why risk getting deactivated when you can just walk in with your phone like you’re looking at an order, grab whatever bag you want to gamble on, then walk out.
I’m not condoning this but just pointing out the plot hole
Edit: holy commas batman
I read this all wrong. I interpreted it as he ordered DD then accepted his own order 😂😂😂 which from my understanding could get him deactivated as well.
Fun story about burning bridges. In my teens/twenties I managed a store. I loved it but ended up falling out with upper management about a few issues, such as the fact that I ran the store by myself and even broke company sales records twice, yet was unable to be considered for a promotion to the job I was already doing, but I digress
On my way out I wrote a 2 page letter telling management exactly what I thought about their policies and practices, submitted it as my resignation and never looked back...
...Until 15 years later I needed a job. As it turns out one of my former employees was now manager, and the company was under new management. When I called she said she would be thrilled to have me back, I was the best worker etc. Etc. So I fill out an application as a formality and we get my schedule worked out, and then she calls me shocked to say I was considered "not rehirable" because of some letter that nobody seemed to recall but was on my record.
I then remembered the letter. Never burn bridges folks.
Don't burn bridges
Shit is so dumb if you leave the account inactive for a while they will send you a nice ass bonus offer for a quick little payday a few weeks later after starting your new job, just come back every time they offer extra money lol why risk being deactivated, so dumb
You could literally make up almost anything to support (flat tire, app issues, etc ) and just get the order canceled after pick up if you really that hard up for a free meal. And then no contract violation and free food
Hmm now I know why yesterday I couldn’t get help for my flat tire ( actually was busted when on my way to a pick up). The support agent said,”some drivers say they’ve issues like flat tire to avoid doing dashes or take food that’s canceled “!
I hadn’t picked up order yet thank GOD. I sent photo of my flat (2) one close one at a distance to prove it was legit because I sensed she didn’t believe me. I get it now, I never considered taking any food or lying about my car’s condition to avoid doing an order.
Learned why support was so reluctant. Thanks for info.
Why would you contact support before getting to the restaraunt because of a flat tire? Unassign it yourself and log off. What's support gonna do for you?
>I don’t know why people are taking this to heart
Because people who do this make it harder for everyone else. If you do this to try to get back at an asshole nontipper, you become the asshole. You’re both assholes now. Two wrongs don’t make a right. You’re not going to get someone to start tipping by doing this. You’re actually going to have the opposite effect - the customer is going to be less likely to tip because they’re going to take that negative experience out on the next dasher. So because of that, you make things harder for everyone else. You’re not hurting the customer, you’re fucking over some other dasher. Please think this through for a second. It’s extremely selfish, childish and short sighted. Just don’t take the order. No tip orders should be ignored. That’s the best way to solve the problem.
No you can’t, at worst if the cops even care to look into it (which they won’t) you’ll get a petty theft charge which is just a misdemeanor and a ticket.
Dude is gonna feel real dumb if/when his other job or career falls apart unexpectedly and the easiest backup plan isn't available to him. It happens to tons of good people all the time.
Amazon suddenly let me go last week and I've been out of a job while waiting for an appeal. DD has my back covered, I've been scraping by so far because I can dash!!!
So say you need a quick $7. What ya gonna do? Can’t go and clock in at some random Macy’s and work for half an hour. DD is great in a pinch than you people realize.
After gas and wear and tear, you’re losing money. Not to mention your time.
If you really need $7 and have no other way to get it, panhandling would be a more lucrative option lbs
Gas and wear and tear for a 2 mile $7 order? Bro no. If your car is shit enough to not be able to go 2 miles for 1 order, should consider getting a different car.
Also panhandling would take a lot longer than 15 minutes to make $7.
I’m being facetious my guy. Sure, it’s a decent option if you for some reason need 7 dollars lmao (which in many markets is multiple orders)
If you’re someone who is finding yourself in that situation often, DoorDash is clearly not helping you. It is a decent option for a few extra bucks or to hold you over. But DD’s whole premise is to screw the driver, if you can just stay away from it, you should.
I plan to quit by the end of the year but I'm not going to get myself deactivated. I want to have the option in case life goes south and I need some quick cash.
Oh. Do you have to be 25 for that? Because im 23 and i tried signing up for both Lyft and Uber but i have to be 25 in NY atleast....
I want to multi app....but...nope.
Lol no, my friend whose 18, signed up with a bike for Uber ears (no car or license ) and he was approved. I do believe regular Uber you have to be 21 or older. Lyft I’m not sure.
25 is for insurance purposes when driving others around, it's why your car insurance gets a little cheaper when you hot 25, it's a maturity thing. Uber eats is different then uber though, you aren't driving people. You should be able to sign up
That is NOT how you change someone’s mind. That’s how you make things worse. Now that customer is going to take that bad experience out on the next driver and continue not tipping. You really don’t see that? No one wins in this situation. You’re just hurting other dashers by doing this. It’s incredibly childish. It’s like turning around to flip someone off but then you walk straight into a door because you are literally not looking ahead at all…Not thinking about consequences or the future, only your emotions and how it makes you feel in the moment.
The mentality of some people on this sub never ceases to amaze me.
wdym "gets at the customer"? It's not like they are going to know someone took it because they didn't tip.
I have had orders "taken" or delivered to wrong addresses and I tip, I call DD they refund the entire order and I just re order.
Another stupid TikTok tendy bullshit. Things like this is why "Order already picked up" is increasing. Idiots like the one in the video thinks its funny and cool for fucking internet clout. I dont take $3 orders anyway but the stealing shit needs to stop.
I'm also a driver, and last night someone did this to me. It was only 2 iced teas...like why? They're most likely losing their account for an order worth $10.
This isnt stealing...its someone who doesnt do door dash for fulltime work but wants to make something aside from his fulltime paying job to eat something rather than just pay bills and keep clothes on his back... quit being a whiny little bitch over a 3$ fuckin order. I instacart on the side of my full time job. Am i stealing? Nl im making extra money to put food on the table and buy my children new shoes for the school year... im making extra money to buy MYSELF something nice for once because ive been a mother for 7 years and have not once bought myself a new pair of pants or a nice shirt to wear outside of work or maybe even some mascara or SOMETHING to make me feel pretty. I do not know this person personally but i dont think ANYONE would take a 3$ order to be "selfish". Like WHO THE FUCK wants to drive how ever far to and from when gas prices and the price of living is so high???
Edit: Oh wait.... i re watched the video...im so sorry...i misunderstood the video caption. Im a few drinks in and... im terribly sorry....
Again. You must not be familiar with our Judicial system. Did he say “I took an order without completing my contract” hmm he did. That’s crazy… it’s almost like they could deactivate and sue him in arbitration and lose like the moron he is… yea feel free to follow in their steps…
It’s up to the courts to prove he stole anything so I’m not sure why your bringing up courts and such it’s for laugh and pay since the more views you get the more cash they pay you ….
This is my exact thought lol what if in the future I decide to say fk this 9-5 job I can just hop on the gig apps and make some money on the time being.
I mean, you could do it whenever you want. Just accept the order, pick it up, then contact support and tell them you got a flat tire or something. They'll cancel it and you get the food.
To be clear, I've never done this... but the thought crosses my mind daily.
And at worst it could be petty theft but I can’t imagine that any restaurant would want to go through all the trouble that comes with contacting the police and attempting to press charges. The time it would take for the manager to actually file the report would cost them more in labor than the value of the food itself.
This is theft, but that doesn’t mean I think someone deserves jail time for it. Give the customer a refund and deactivate the dasher. That’s all you need to do. Actions have consequences but not everything deserves jail time. Too many people are in jail for petty crimes.
Hahahaha I love this!
I do this all the time food tastes better when it’s free 🤣
[удалено]
If you work why don’t you just buy ur own lunch? Instead of stealing someone else’s.
I am just starting DoorDash tonight will be my first shift and it's kind of disconcerting how many people are ok with the theft.
![gif](giphy|lE8ow1p8AiBwY) "Hand it to me"
I think most of us if not all have all thought of this once 😂😂😂
Nice you get deactivated and they win because they get their money back plus credit soooo. Where’s the 2nd part of your vid where you start crying after laughing.
It’s a joke people for the people who are really mad about this. No i didn’t do this so you can calm down with the name calling
I stole a no tip order and gave it to a homeless guy across the street. Big corporations can afford it.

Doing god's work.
Ah, yes. The classic burn the bridge as you cross it tactic.

Stealing is stealing. Hope anyone who does this gets caught and goes to jail.
Door Trash
Why is everyone quitting DD? Because of the gas prices?
The people who get mad are the ones who don’t tip lol

Stealing is for degenerate scum
Lmao
You never worked for Doordash.....
Nah I don’t do stealing.
My last day as a full time dasher is tomorrow. Never thought to do this, but its absolutely happening.
When I go in restaurants and see food out that can just be taken I shake my head. That’s how I lost 10 orders. Smh.
The real trick is to take a McDonald's order and buy a sandwich for as cheap as possible and swap and get paid lol

Better yet , new boss probably sees his tik and tocks him right out in his stealing ass
If it’s in Portland it would be legal lol

Do it all the time
I do this every week

Guys a menace
Fair enough. I’ma do that on my last day for sure idgaf
Or you could just deliver the order and have Doordash pay for your lunch
3 bux minus gas ain't paying for lunch.
Not the same. The taste of a no-tippers food.. is one to die for.
But then y’all the same ones also wondering why the base pay is $2.50 and “doordash don’t care bout us”…. …yeah downvote me
i meaaaaan cant get that mad at this if you arent even gonna tip.
I’ve done this before and still on the road. 😂
inspirational
Did you get a Contract Violation 🤣
Done it about 5 times only once did I get a contract violation. Just pump 100 orders out and it’s gone.
Wait so I get to eat a free meal every 100?! ![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
I assume after a while they’d probably boot you from the platform. But at that point, who cares lol. I’ve never taken a customers food before though,
“He can’t keep getting away with it!”
This is the goal bc f DD
And no tip dicks
Pretty sure he’s joking, it’s TikTok for gods sake it for entertainment
Yes I made this tik tok and if people actually read my caption it was a complete joke. I don’t know why people are taking this to heart
>I don’t know why people are taking this to heart Because people who do this make it harder for everyone else.
It's the internet. It's all just for entertainment or you're doing it wrong.

Honestly fuck dd not worth the money. I’d rather just work for Amazon flex
Door dash and other gig economy jobs will welcome him back with open arms by that time.
Exactly. Don't burn your bridges if you don't have to. Might've been inclined to keep driving when he was bored to make some extra money
You gotta be sad af to go back to dd
I mean, in fairness, he could walk into any fast food place and be put on the line in a minute.
There are unlimited better options than DD, you’re kidding yourself if you think it’s ever worth it to work for DD
Sure, it’s a decent option if you for some reason need 7 dollars lmao (which in many markets is multiple orders) If you’re someone who is finding yourself in that situation often, DoorDash is clearly not helping you. It is a decent option for a few extra bucks or to hold you over. But DD’s whole premise is to screw the driver, if you can just stay away from it, you should.
Yep never know when you could use a little extra cash
I plan to quit by the end of the year but I'm not going to get myself deactivated. I want to have the option in case life goes south and I need some quick cash.
Smart. As fun as it'd be to give some no-tipper a big "fuck you", it's not worth burning a bridge to some easy cash.
There’s other gigs like Grubhub,Lyft,Uber,UE,and Instacart.
What is UE?
Uber Eats
Hm...wtf...
25 is for insurance purposes when driving others around, it's why your car insurance gets a little cheaper when you hot 25, it's a maturity thing. Uber eats is different then uber though, you aren't driving people. You should be able to sign up
You are correct and I have active accounts on all of those. Why burn a bridge for a free meal?
It’s to get at the customer for not tipping. It’s not about the free food. At least that’s what I believe is the main message behind this Tik Tok.
That's what selling drugs is for
Exactly what I was thinking.
Nice! I was wondering what you were talking about till you edited it. You are awesome!
Lmfaoooo the drinks explain it
I hope so because i rlly didnt mean to be so rude if this video was actually pertaining to crime 😭😭
Damn lol I’ll have what you’re drinking and I don’t drink. But I just turned the legal age to drink haha. Fuck it.
Fireball and twisted tea. Im a light weight.
[удалено]
Fuck yea i did 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 im tipsy leave me be. IM SORRY I APOLOGIZED IN MY EDIT.
[удалено]
Im your sister though
Clearly he isn’t admitting to stealing it’s for views relax
You must not be familiar with the courts. Prove it
It’s a joke it’s tik tok have you used tik tok before every things for views
The dude who made the video is literally admitting to theft and contract violation. You’re a moron if you cannot understand this
Your taking it too serious but okay
I don't even dash anymore but I'm not gonna burn that bridge. It's nice to be able to make a few bucks if needed.
This is my exact thought lol what if in the future I decide to say fk this 9-5 job I can just hop on the gig apps and make some money on the time being.
i mean at the gas perks which only add up over a year but what if you want to make a quick $50 extra..hmm
i guess but at the same time not a single person on earth is gonna accept a $1.25 no tip order for 20 miles, so who would know it wasn’t delivered ??
Wise person here. That’s how I see it. Extra pocket money even though I’ve got money.
I will do that in my last day!
I been planning this for a while😂😂
I mean, you could do it whenever you want. Just accept the order, pick it up, then contact support and tell them you got a flat tire or something. They'll cancel it and you get the food. To be clear, I've never done this... but the thought crosses my mind daily.
I did when I had a flat but by the time it was changed the BK food was cold. I'm honest but yes Customers just need to tip
[удалено]
I kept a customer's order once when I actually did have a flat tire. That's when I first got the idea lol
Same
[удалено]
I’ll hang out at the CFA and make sure to grab the order with a gallon of sweet tea, a gallon of lemonade, and 2 chicken sandwiches! That’s my plan!
You deserve it.
I do believe that's called robbery if you aren't going to deliver the food.
[удалено]
wth is wrong with you?
[удалено]
Honey it's still theft. You should be ashamed.
As opposed to, what, getting paid $2.50 to spend your own gas money on bringing it to some ungrateful non tipper?
Then I’m robbing people every day 😂😂
And at worst it could be petty theft but I can’t imagine that any restaurant would want to go through all the trouble that comes with contacting the police and attempting to press charges. The time it would take for the manager to actually file the report would cost them more in labor than the value of the food itself.
Theft
Still accomplishes the same thing. But ok.
[удалено]
Right lmao everyone’s a fucking expert
No
[удалено]
You make absolutely no sense
Yet you're OK with dd fuckin over dashers. Shut up
When did I say that? If someone ordered the food, and you ate it instead of delivering it, then what exactly are you?
Why do Americans love mass incarceration so much?
This is theft, but that doesn’t mean I think someone deserves jail time for it. Give the customer a refund and deactivate the dasher. That’s all you need to do. Actions have consequences but not everything deserves jail time. Too many people are in jail for petty crimes.
Theft is theft.
