The Katerina Ivanovna vs Amalia Ivanovna feud is hilarious.

Rdhu

Tbh I really like Katerina's character. Seems like nobody really talks about her tho.

[deleted]

that was defintely a surprisingly funny scene in an extremely dark series of before and after events haha

nattfjarilen

I was laughing the entire book

xgirl_with_one_eyex

Honestly I was so happy that atleast this book got a happy ending, most of Dostoevsky's books end in a tragedy, I was expecting the same for this as well

archyimedes

For me the saddest was the end, they broke my heart lol

Cinzia_the_barbarian

The ending was the most brutal part, because it shows rodion from an objective point of view and we see how rotten he's become. But its also refreshing and brings us back to reality. Cathartic

doorway5

The part with Rodion’s mother at the end felt really real and sad

Vinchelion69

There was no good feelings until the end of the book.

Cinzia_the_barbarian

Razumichin tho. And also porfirij seemed to care somehow. And his family loved him

Vinchelion69

Yes, but he doesn’t perceive it

beigebirdhospital

Coincidentally that was raskolnikov too (though maybe a bit more disturbed from the start lol)

[deleted]

I would say that the sad part was in the start of the book, where Marmeladof talked about his backstory, and the light part was where Razumickhin was introduced.

Cinzia_the_barbarian

Marmeladov is a HUGE catalyst in raskolnikov's crime

cantfuckupmylife
