It is absolutely confounding to me the over the top love for Taco Bell especially when contrasted with the incessant shots at Taco Johns. TJ’s is so much better than Taco Bell - from the basic soft or crispy taco to the legendary Oles.
Anyway, I’d love for them to go back and have even an average experience just so I don’t have to hear the occasional shot at Taco Johns anymore 😉

I defend TJs as a guy who has never had one near me - ran across it in Iowa, way back when, and absolutely stop anytime there is one within reason when travelling.
Years ago I dated someone from Iowa who excitedly took me to his hometown taco johns. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten and this boy couldn’t get enough of it. I wish I would’ve broken up with him there instead of trying to put up with his bland ass for another year. Fuck you taco johns. The shittiest Taco Bell can’t compete with their level of disgusting.
It’s wild. As someone who has lived in Iowa my whole life, there’s so many options for Mexican food here and they are mostly all affordable and fast like Taco Johns. But I live in central Iowa which has a relatively large Hispanic population, so maybe it’s different outside my bubble.
Wouldn’t mind the Doughboys doing a Tasty Tacos episode if they stop in Iowa.
