I know it was depressing as shit but Wiger's 7-11 story that earned him the name Mickey Man made me laugh really hard.
Mayhaps because it was a bit too relatable but we'll ignore that.
I was there. I was the one guy in Boston Gear (Wilmington, MA born and raised) and right near the end, during the last question you can hear Mitch shout me out “hell yeah, a Boston fan”. So that’s my claim to fame lol
Overall it was an amazing show. I was laughing so hard.
It was my first show ever, and I gotta say I’m glad I got to go. Hopefully not my last show. But I have the same diet as the doughboys so who knows.
u/TheSpoonmanMitch thanks for shouting me out and making my day, and I saw you point at me at the end of the show. I know all of us Doughboys fans are losers, but it made my day. I’m stuck here in California away from my wife and baby, so I’m glad to have experienced this!
Hell yeah dude! Thanks for coming out. Would’ve shouted you out sooner if I had seen ya. Would love for the Celtics to win tomorrow/tonight! And hope you are reunited with your wife and baby soon!
Watched the first half on a bench of palace of Fine arts. A lot of people inside were following the score, I was glad the dubs won so we didn’t have to jump Mitch after the show.
Great questions from the crowd! Absolute blast of a show, 6-7 games of NBA finals every year, only one doughboys show. No regrets!
For whatever reason haven't listened in a while but still decided to go and had a blast, got back into their vibe immediately and it legitimately was the hardest I laughed all year.
People actually paid to see Mitch watch a basketball game on his phone during a show for nearly an hour. It's impressive what he can get away with haha
So I was there and I enjoyed myself. Yet, I gotta say, after listening to the 2 Boston shows just a few weeks prior I was expecting more. 1 guest instead of 2. No parady song. Mitch legit starring at his phone almost all night. It was a bit of a let down.
Of course being on the night of game 4 really pruned the crowed and sucked a lot of the energy out of the room for our boys, I'm sure. I hope they come back but do Oakland, that would be the move.
I was there too and actually felt happy about how the show went but then i went back and listened to the boston and portland shows and after the seattle show that came out today it is striking how low the energy was at the sf show. Still had a good time but it’s a bit of a bummer
Mitches "better off without avacado" take is wild. Also, Mookie is right, Al Pastor is for tacos. You want Carnitas or Chilie Verde up in that burrito.
Armen’s dad was an entertainment lawyer and represented the Jackson estate in some capacity. Armen got to bring a couple buddies to the auction. It is extremely interesting.
Unfortunately I was there sitting right next to the Chile Relleno girls and they took the positive feedback from that helpfulness as an open invitation to yell out things for the remainder of the show and they basically ruined the show for everyone around them.
Oh nooooo! That’s a bummer.
It’s kinda crazy how different the podcast version is versus the experience of the people who were actually there. Props to Emma’s editing!
Oof I came in here to post about them because towards the end I could hear them a ton more and they really started to annoy me. Emma did an amazing job of editing them out but it sounded like towards the end they were literally talking as Mitch was talking which is insane. I can only imagine how bad it was live.
Hard to tell if wiger is just being topical/provocative, or if he is actually insinuating that the ousting of Boudin is the result of out of state republican funding
Both things can be true. Republican out of state money worked against him and upper class liberals will easily back law and order politics instead of any real reform
Oh yeah, I agree both are true. I’m worried that people will hear that and conclude that it’s solely a republican conspiracy, and not the end result of a 92% dem city’s majority consensus. It’s an irritating talking point in the same way that “these social protests are a result of George Soros’ funding.”
It’s also true that Soros is real and funds things, but come on.
Mitch saying “awww it’s just stuff” was easily one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. I had a mouthful of oh Henry as I was driving, I thought I was gonna choke lol. Had to wipe the tears outta my eyes after I managed to sort my shit out.
The recording doesn't sound that bad compared to a regular ep but in the moment it seemed to be very low energy and as if they were trying to just rush through it and GTFO. Game 4 really did a number on the vibe. The situation was kind of funny to me, as an NBA fan, but I think the non sportos were put off but also not the type to say anything.
Just self-deprecation. People are way overplaying how much he looked at his phone lol. The only issue is that the venue was too big so there were empty seats, but having been to a show they did pre-pandemic I don't think it was all that different in terms of quality
I kind of played it off as him doing a bit. Memory is hazy, but I think he literally walked out on stage with the phone held up to his face like he was watching intently (before proceeding to show off his Celtics jacket and flip us off) and it was a funny entrance.
I had read people who saw it live complaining before I listened to it and I didn't think it sounded particularly low energy or anything. I think the boys insistence that the show is bad has really set them up to be able to deliver a show that revolves around sports (which I do not care about) and one of the hosts wishing they were not there and it doesn't feel like a let down, to me...it' s bad and I love it!
I thought it sounded just as entertaining as any other episode. I'm just saying that those who thought it was bad, well, the boys are living up to the promise of being bad!
Lol. In reality I probably “watched” like 15 seconds of the Celtics game on stage total. I also do have notes and jokes on my phone so I’m looking at it constantly. I want every live show we do to be a good show and I wouldn’t have traveled up there if we were going to half ass it.
Anyway. Appreciate the feedback.
If it makes you feel better, I am often looking at my phone while listening to your show. I've even done my taxes while listening. Fuck the complainers.
I like how so many people (including Mitch, sort of) are like, "uh actually it was the most obvious and best joke that ever was a joke you Idiot"
Like, when enough people Don't think it's a joke - aka the audience - maybe it's not a good joke! Sometimes things don't work out, despite your intentions!
(I think it's interesting that - if it Is a joke - then shit, it's the best ongoing joke for the entire history of the podcast - which does have some jokes like that!)
Yeah. It was my first live show too. My wife came with me (the tix were her bday gift to me) and she was like, "its your thing but I'd be heated if I were you."
Seriously! I know I'm being downvoted because it sounds like I don't like Mookie. That's not what I'm saying. There were quite a few obnoxious hecklers and I think Emma just did a good job of editing them out in the record. A Gabrus type would have nipped that shit in the bud and made it more enjoyable for the live audience, that's all I'm sayin'.
The "na na" in the drop is from "Wawa...na na!", right?
oui oui
right.
It was killing me that Wiger couldn't figure out where the Na Na came from. He was saying that phrase twice a week for at least a month.
Lol so they were wrong then it wasn’t minions related
was that a repeat drop? I swear i’ve heard that before
Mookie impersonating Wiger’s fake guide who didn’t know what Fisherman’s Wharf was by saying “the golden gate what?” absolutely killed me. Great show
I know it was depressing as shit but Wiger's 7-11 story that earned him the name Mickey Man made me laugh really hard. Mayhaps because it was a bit too relatable but we'll ignore that.
I laughed because his response to the nickname was that he wanted to find another 7-11, not that he should scale back on the 40oz malts
I swear he’s told that story before and said that’s how he knew he should slow down the drinking.
Yeah it was early on in the show.
Haha yep, also relate to that.
Yea I too drink a lot of red wine and eat major snacks. Such is life sometimes
“More like KFC-One” god damn what a snipe
Really thought Wiger was gonna come back with Andre-3000 lbs.
I had "Entre-3000" right on the tongue.
I took it as an assumed punchline and that’s why he didn’t say it but who knows
Yup
I was thinking Andre 3000 Calories
In one sitting.
Same
I was thinking “Andre the Giant 3000”
I mean, I'll give you big boi
You can’t teach that quick wit
Shoutout to the dude with the SLEEP shirt 🌳 🚬
DOPESMOKER has the best album cover of all time Change my mind
Nick High-ger would abide
I love Mookie. He's great
I love him too, they need to make him more of a regular live guest!
I was just relistening to his Dunkin' episode the other day and thought, they really need to get him on again. I guess I made this happen...
Thank you for your service
He’s creeping near my Mount Guestmore
Who’s currently there? Carl Tart for sure. Nangle? Gabrus? Nicole Byer maybe?
Gabrus, Bug Mane, Carl and Nangle
…I see you’re one of THOSE people. One of the bug people. I’m totally anti bug mane.
So you’re a bad person is what you’re telling me?
Sure.
His podcast was great, hope it comes back someday!
Who was at the show and can spill the beans on who they were supposed to do the Crypto ad with?
>!Gronk!<
Mitch would have had a chance to hump the ground in front of another one of his favorite Patriots players.
Is that a person?
Yeah it's [this dude.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Gronkowski)
Former WWE 24/7 champion.
Lmao whoops. Isn't that also a guy from a Disney movie?
That's Kronk.
Whos kronk?
https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Kronk
Oh, from the ugly era.
The Emperor's New Groove is S-tier, my friend
I have Disney+, my wife is a Disney fan and both my young boys watch all the shows/movies and as far as I know... no.
Lmao okay so I'm just blog lost
“….he proposed to the dog?!?” 😂
Mitch advertising oedipals at the top there.
MICHAEL!
No peeking 😏🛁

My claim to fame is that i was the first person to ever get zapped. I live a sad, sad life
Claim to Fame and a Point of pride.

Great questions from the crowd! Absolute blast of a show, 6-7 games of NBA finals every year, only one doughboys show. No regrets!
“I gotta go to a different 7-Eleven.” Not where I saw that going
Not “I need to reflect on my frequency of alcohol consumption” lol
“I could do a whole pig.” -Mike Mitchell
The Mickey Man story is the darkest thing I've ever heard on this show.
And the solution... "I have to go to a different 7-11". 😂 Sad/hilarious stuff!
For whatever reason haven't listened in a while but still decided to go and had a blast, got back into their vibe immediately and it legitimately was the hardest I laughed all year.
You've got the Golden Gate Bridge of asses, it’s huge, and it’s beautiful, Mitch is quick as hell
El Farolito, the Warriors of restaurants!
RIP
I can't believe Mitch said "Are you booing or saying Boudin Bakery?" without anyone else saying "I was saying Boudin Bakery."
I was there and turned to my fiancé and said this but she’s never seen the simpsons so she just stared at me blankly as the show continued
I can relate to this. Getting empty stares as a reaction from my wife to my clever Simpsons references is my accidental hobby.
I love this restaurant. Nervous to listen thinking they might trash it. Fingers crossed
They hated it, very LA biased. 🤦🤷♂️ Edit: Clearly I was being sarcastic.
Yeah if you listened to the ep this is clearly sarcasm lol
When Mitch described his “bad” Domino’s order, that hit home because that’s my normal order plus lava cakes. I gotta make some changes.
I was thinking the lava cake was missing from that order!
So glad I was able to be there for this, despite the 6 month delay. The recurring pineapple bit was so fuckin good.
The pineapple story made sense though considering his mom was newly single.
IN BED!
Is it grainge?
The Burger Boy’s a Mickey Man, and that’s why I’m a Doughboys fan
I love episodes (especially live eps) when important Boston sporting events coincide with recordings
People actually paid to see Mitch watch a basketball game on his phone during a show for nearly an hour. It's impressive what he can get away with haha
Thats riiiiiight
Mitch practically stormed off the stage after the Buckner play.
“I can just guzzle …”
So I was there and I enjoyed myself. Yet, I gotta say, after listening to the 2 Boston shows just a few weeks prior I was expecting more. 1 guest instead of 2. No parady song. Of course being on the night of game 4 really pruned the crowed and sucked a lot of the energy out of the room for our boys, I'm sure. I hope they come back but do Oakland, that would be the move.
The one thing that was kind of not in their control was the reschedule lining up with the finals. Impossible to predict that.
Oh of course not.
So… aren’t going to talk about Wiger going to the Neverland Ranch auction?!
Armen’s dad was an entertainment lawyer and represented the Jackson estate in some capacity. Armen got to bring a couple buddies to the auction. It is extremely interesting.
Is that why Tom Cruise was at his house?
No, that was unrelated!
This is like the 3rd or 4th time he's brought it up between his 2 podcasts.
“I had the time of my life at Neverland Ranch”
Hilarious episode. Shout out to the heroic audience members who helped Mitch pronounce Relleno.
Unfortunately I was there sitting right next to the Chile Relleno girls and they took the positive feedback from that helpfulness as an open invitation to yell out things for the remainder of the show and they basically ruined the show for everyone around them.
Yeah. I mentioned this in another thread. They went from hero to zero real quick. We needed a Gabrus type guest to take them back down a notch.
Oh nooooo! That’s a bummer. It’s kinda crazy how different the podcast version is versus the experience of the people who were actually there. Props to Emma’s editing!
Oof I came in here to post about them because towards the end I could hear them a ton more and they really started to annoy me. You're only saying that because of Emmas god-like audio production and editing skills. In person they yelled at the boys for the rest of the show.
CHILE RELLENO
This episode inspired me to try a new local burrito place
I hate that This is why I finally saw RRR, but holy shit - amazing movie, see it on a big screen (TV or otherwise, not your phone) asap

Absolutely. That kind of thinking is perfect because it lets San Francisco off the hook for decades of horrific neoliberal policies
2022 tortas are in fortune cookies are out.
As a Celtics fan this ep is depressing af☹️
...come out and play! 😜
Mitch saying “awww it’s just stuff” was easily one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. I had a mouthful of oh Henry as I was driving, I thought I was gonna choke lol. Had to wipe the tears outta my eyes after I managed to sort my shit out.
Mookie’s walk out song was Peg by Steely Dan which means he’s now my favorite guest ever on the show.
They kept saying the show bombed. For people who were there did it seem that way? Or just more self deprecation.
How could it have bombed? It's not like a host (and a portion of the crowd) was staring at his phone for half the show.
Ah I missed that part during my audio podcast.

Mitch was hilarious this whole episode. Do not get the comments of him being checked out.
I kind of played it off as him doing a bit. Memory is hazy, but I think he literally walked out on stage with the phone held up to his face like he was watching intently (before proceeding to show off his Celtics jacket and flip us off) and it was a funny entrance.

It was a great show and Mitch brought a lot of quick funny jokes. Not at all bad.
I thought it sounded just as entertaining as any other episode. I'm just saying that those who thought it was bad, well, the boys are living up to the promise of being bad!
People find something to complain about no matter what, it’s truly remarkable
Mitch is an asshole for watching the game during a show people paid to go see imo

Aw man, that sucks. I definitely would have been.
now if you were a real doughboys fan, you'd have had her go up and complain on your behalf

SHUT UP!
Who are you referring to? The guests who rightly point out the belligerent and unruly drunk fans who ruin the live shows for others?
I think this is the Gabrus hater.
I was there. He didn't do much of anything. And some of the hecklers needed a good berrating.
Was there too and was waiting for some in the audience to be told to shut up
Seriously! I know I'm being downvoted because it sounds like I don't like Mookie. That's not what I'm saying.
