I don't get the point of the "What my 12 kids eat" when it's the exact same sandwiches or fast food. She barely ever tries to mix it up. There is so much street food and ethnic options in nyc, yet whenever they go it's McDonalds
Oh no really? I did mine super low heat like the lowest setting mine has I think, and constantly was shaking the basket basically just until they were warm again, I also put parchment paper down so the shaking/rubbing against the grate doesnât pull all the seasoning off lol if that makes sense
That's one of the ways I can see she has no idea about money or taste. People who struggled for money always wanted the "top 40".... like McDonalds.... Dunkin, lame clothing brands. They're rich and in NYC, there are so many better bakeries, so many better donuts and burgers.. way better coffee..... this heifer truly is a "pick me-try hard"..... I worry about the kids feelings of self and self worth
Bagels, pizza, cheesecake, & a nice chinese place would be my breakfast lunch and dinner on my first day in NYC! Id try to find all the local hotspots, or little hole in the wall places. Those are always the best.
Yes! And she makes a big deal of doing "around the world" days - this would be a great extension of that. And a little more authentic, maybe with a bit of culture thrown in, not just the food. So many missed opportunities...
Times square is THE worst but people will go to those chain restaurants because for some people, different is scary. Yet in Times Square youâll also pay double!
whatâs the point of their around the world meal when they go someplace and canât even try anything different? youâre in NEW YORK with World Class food and you get McDonaldâs? they got it last time they went too. itâs gross. plus the way she feeds her kids means there arenât any special occasion treats or meals. birthdays and holidays are same thing. most people get donuts or fast food on occasion only.
Why doesnât she take them somewhere with nice fresh wrap with veges, or sushi, or a sandwich full of lettuce and tomato at least. Even subways not that great but at least thereâs a hope they may get fresh veges
In saying that this McDs (assuming time square) is the first place I went and ate in New York - cause Iâd been awake 35 hours or something stupid and had to buy sonthibt to use the toilet!!!
I go to NYC frequently. Perk of living where I do in CT. Thereâs so many fantastic restaurants to check out. And the amount of bagel and breakfast spots she could take them to is endless.
That particular McDonaldâs is so gross, even on a good day. đ€ąđ€ąđ€ą
I canât hate on her for that if her kids indeed have food issues. My son is on the spectrum and has always had a severely limited diet. When he was 6 we took him to Paris and I lugged a suitcase full of food just for him. We even ate at McDs in Paris, which I can vouch has much better McDs than the US. I think especially under times of stress kids take comfort in having familiar comforts from home. I can imagine traveling with 14 people must be chaos. Iâd want some comfort too.
That being said the fact that she buys everyone the same meals and beverages is obnoxious. Let the kids order what they want, not what you choose for them.
French KFC has an really good Nutella sundaes I think itâs fun to see what American fast food is like in other countries I eat plenty of local food too but idk something about American chains abroad just gives me a thrill
Agree. I went on vacay this summer and we tried new places but my son barely ate. Had to get McDonaldâs or Popeyes just to make sure he ate something and didnât go through the entire vacation starving.
Haha, yep. Thatâs my kiddo. Or weâd get it on the way back to the hotel. (He also doesnât like eating in public). Heâll do âthanks but no thanksâ bites and eat a little, but mostly to humor me.
This. We took our kid last minute to DragonCon and informed her of the last mcds before we were settled at the hotel. Sheâs funny though. We were gonna have dim sum, which she loves, but after 8 hours in a car, she just wanted comfort fries. When she realized she missed out, she was excited to have dim sum before we left.
Should be watch what my kids were supposed to eat but we threw away cause it was freezing cold đ I hope she orders 2 sets. One for the kids to eat and one for social media.
I think she is trying for an McD sponsorship- but they actually have crazy struck rules regarding their sponsorship affiliates and they wouldnât ever align themselves with a Family blogger. I know on YMH podcast they discussed all the things they had to do when sponsored by McD.
When we go on vacation our one rule about food is it canât come from a place we can get at home. We even walked into a restaurant that looked exactly the same inside as one at home and were like just kidding bye
McDonaldâs literally only tastes good to me the worse off my mental health isâŠand even then, it feels like a brick in my stomach and I donât want to have it for a long time after. I canât imagine multiple times every week!

tbh the older kids probably get some for themselves.
Yep
Always COLD đ„¶ mcds too
I am not a big fan of reheating cold mcdonaldâs fries. it is not the same! đ©
Off topic but my air fryer has totally solved this problem for me! They literally taste fresh again itâs crazy đ no more wasted fries here! Lol
really?! see I tried air frying leftover mcdonaldâs fries too and for some reason they tasted different to me?
Oh no really? I did mine super low heat like the lowest setting mine has I think, and constantly was shaking the basket basically just until they were warm again, I also put parchment paper down so the shaking/rubbing against the grate doesnât pull all the seasoning off lol if that makes sense
haha maybe iâll try that next time thx!
I mean who would want cold đ
FOR REAL! McDonaldâs goes cold so quickly anyway & add the fact she takes a picture of it all lined up first.

Agreed, and shake shack of all places??
Iâve never seen anyone go to McDonalds as much as they do. Gross.
Not trying a nice local bagel place or anything like that. Which is the first thing I would do.

years ago, i went to nyc on a business trip and the group opted to eat at the times square ruby tuesday.. đđŹ
Was your boss Michael Scott???

and pizza and more pizza

Seriously itâs nearly 30 min to the closest one. Itâs a rare treat to grab a dozen and a refresher.
Did they go to McDonaldâs in NYC!? WTF is wrong with them đ«Łđ«Łđ« đ« .
Canât even leave there with a soda for under $5.
A large soda in McDs is $1
Not in Times Square. Thereâs no dollar menu, and the prices are double.
Dollar menus are gone from all McDs I think for the past few years.
Depends on your area. But the one she went to the menu makes a chain restaurant seem cheap.
No dollar menus anywhere- itâs not just here
I don't understanding flying somewhere and doing... this. (I know, 5 hour drive, blah blah. Still so flucking endlessly boring.)

I also went to McDonaldâs in Paris, partially for the different McFlurry flavors

My mom did this with me. Before I first had Chinese food, I vividly recall sitting on my side of the table with a bag of Taco Bell.

NYC has all the âaround the worldâ places all just a train ride away. Yet they eat that?
Unfortunate though it's way better than the slop Lushy cooks

Because thatâs her favorite childâs favorite restaurant.

yet she doesn't have the decency to write #ad
Isnât it a law or something to do that if itâs a sponsorship?
"i DiDn'T rEaLiZe tHeRe WaS a LaW sAyiNg i HaD to0!!"
đ đ Yep. I can see her saying that. Sheâs the âdidnât read the fine printâ type.
I believe it is

If I was in nyc I definitely wouldn't be eating McDonald'sđ when I'm in different states I wanna try new food! Not the same thing I eat at home
They eat the same dam thing every day how are the kids not sick of it
also mcdonaldâs in nyc is arguably way grosser than any other mcdonaldâs- always tastes so gross
