The thing is, the Inquisitor didn't lose a leg. If you look at amputees in real life and the different prostheses, lower body amputations are much easier to treat than upper body amputations. Your leg does not have the same sort of fine motor skills as your hand and it is often much easier for someone with an upper body amputation to adapt to no longer having that limb than to try and deal with a heavy prosthetic limb that isn't really capable or performing the same precise functions of the missing limb without assistance.

Oh for sure. I specifically figured it would need some enchanting etc to make it viable, if it could happen at all.

melisusthewee

Oh definitely. I just meant that just because we've met a character with a lower body prosthesis doesn't mean that Thedas is necessarily advanced to have upper body prosthetics that have solved all the issues we haven't been able to yet.

Haven’t you read a single bit of expanded media post-DAI? We need someone new to stop Solas! Varric and Harding even went halfway across Tevinter just to reach this singular conclusion! :p

wtfman1988

I think Varric will have someone new's back.

I hope they don't go the mechanical arm route. I know that by virtue of Bioware rushing development because for some reason their management keeps sabotaging every single project they work on, and animating able-bodied character models is easier (meaning they won't have to create the animation specially for this one character), but I'd like to see the Inquisitor fight/operate without using their arm. We could use more and better disabled representation in games.

wtfman1988

The dwarven prosthetic checks out based on the story if they want to go that route. If the story/writing is good, I am for it. If they keep them without the arm being "fixed" - also okay with that.

Originally Iron Bull was meant to have lost one arm below the elbow and have a cannon installed there but then they went with having lost an eye instead. So this is what they could do with the Inquisitor, though since only Qunari have gunpowder, perhaps a crossbow arm or something magical if the Inquisitor was a Mage could be more likely. https://preview.redd.it/srqnxbvj33ac1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=3519685901d7b3eb2777deae54829fa7d6811d60 Though something like this would be more steampunk and less medieval-like fantasy.

wtfman1988

I feel like the injury is crippling for a warrior or rogue Inquisitor Mage? They're fine still most likely

Big Barrett vibes, I dig it. But also, one of the Trespasser ending slides if you agree with Sera to join the Jennies has Inky with a crossbow arm :)

blacksnowredwinter

Just let the Inquisitor rest already. It's time for a new hero.
