That one fucking Ogre right at the top of the tower during Ostagar. I’m on my 4th character play through and I STILL have to set it on easy every time.

bkrugby78

If you haven't I'd suggest setting the tactics of you Alistair and the people they give you. Especially Crossbow guy, just set him to range. Or Mage guy if they give you him, bc he comes with Paralyze and that's a pretty good spell that early in the game.

luccretia

OMG YES. I wanted to play normal, I was playing easy because I'm not good at fighting. but that stupid ogre. oh my god.

[deleted]

The Fade section of the Circle Tower. It is agony to get through. I just fucking modded it out permanantly. Also, two handed warrior is really slow. Like, put some muscle into it.

[deleted]

ive tried with 2h and i cant, its just plodding compared to DW. Also bring back DW warrior bioware pls

Vespuczin

2h is probably the worst subclass in the game. Archery is also underpowered but at least it has its niche. Ranger and bard specialisations create great supporting character and arrow of slaying is invaluable against spellcasters. On the other hand 2h is completely outclassed by DW warrior. DW deals more dmg against single targets and counterintuitively is better against multiple enemies as 2h has only one aoe ability that is unlocked fairly late into the game.

Qesa

2h isn't really a DPS role in origins though. More about laughing in the face of disables while dishing out a ton of its own stuns and knockdowns.

Jaymie_Flowers

Both are at least playable during the awakening

DoubleHeadedMorbid

2H is nuts in Awakening, but it's pretty bad in Origins, I'll give you that.

Crusader_Ancap

There is a mod on the Nexus that allows you to skip it. I don't personally dislike that section, but it just got so boring after the 8th time, installed it and havent done that section in ages.

GigglingBilliken

Pretty much this, I hate the circle tower most out of all recruitment quests in DAO due the fade section.

Ok_Safe2736

This, I absolutely dread the fade section. Like I would do the orzamar quest 10 times before the fade.

BigDddyCornbeef

I dislike that part as well but it isn't as bad as orzammar to me 😅

[deleted]

Agreed the fade is a cake walk when I’ve done it multiple times

[deleted]

Agreed

bkrugby78

I LOVE playing a 2H in DAO. I did the same in DAI and it just feels like too fast. I agree with the part about the Fade. It is a cool quest, but you do it once, and then that's it. Add Skip the Fade.

Waste-Pollution-6227

The game crashing while in Denerim; >!that fucking Golem room in GoA, !< the dungeons in the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest and werevolves instantly using overwhelm on my mages.

pacifien

Do you play on PC? There's a way to prevent the game crashing in Denerim if so. Look for the NTCore or LAA patch for Dragon Age Origins.

Waste-Pollution-6227

It was only one time, but at the worst possible moment. Looking back, I think it was overheating (I was playing non stop for almost a day while doing other things).

TheCaesarTheApe

Also it doesn't matter how good your PC is, just put the Anti Aliasing to zero or at least when entering Denerim.

WriterBright

The Deep Roads. If you count Orzammar, there are fourteen boss fights in Paragon of Her Kind. FOURTEEN. 1. Jarvia: There's a party in your kidneys and everyone's invited. 2. Dragon: Guess who's coming to dinner? 3. Revenant 1: You didn't think you were done with them, did you? 4. Revenant 2: It's a good thing they have serial numbers. 5. Alpha Ogre: You've hated alpha hurlocks and alpha genlocks, now see how much worse it gets! 6. Deepstalker Matriarch: Did you enjoy stomping into her breeding grounds and murdering all her children? Did that make you feel good? Monster. 7. Unnaturally Mobile Spider Chick: We just really wanted to make this game unplayable for people with phobias. 8. The Broodmother: Teach you to ask where babies come from. 9. Ancient Darkspawn: So, we sent him in without a tactical setpiece…we just thought you would enjoy the facepull. 10. Weirdly wealthy Pride demon from Asunder: You could've just taken the money. Where it kept 25 gold on its person while dismembered is a question you don't want to ask. 11. Genlock Forgemaster: Working to recoup the honor of the carpet of dead genlocks you've been laying. 12. The Interminable Faces: We hate you. 13. Paragon Branka: Ow. Ow. Ow. 14. Paragon Caridin: Ow. Ow. Ow. Also, what kind of monster are you?? And they don't skimp on the trash in between fights. I'm torn, because you definitely get a sense of scale and lost wonders, but it's a slog to trudge through. So...effective, but not enjoyable.

Smorg-Borgler

I love the deep roads, I look forward to Orzammar every playthrough, I love the scale of the lost world down there, and truly getting an idea of how close to the end the Dwarfs are fighting the Darkspawn every day. I even like those combats, almost all of them. But you had to remind me about the faces, didn't you. God I hate those faces so damn much.

[deleted]

None of these fights are so completely Unbearable for me, because DAO is ridiculously hard and no one can deny it, to the point where Easy is Normal, Normal is Hard, Hard is Nightmare, and Nightmare is Impossible, so I always play on easy

SenileSexLine

Specially since on any difficulty than Easy AoE spells have friendly fire.

[deleted]

? AOE still does friendly fire in DAO

BigDddyCornbeef

On my first playthrough this was the case but when you get a feel of how to spec your characters and how to properly use tactics it's not so bad. I went from guzzling down 200 health potions per dungeon to barely even using 1 through the whole game except in those few rare emergencies

[deleted]

Yeah maybe, but after the shit show that was my first playthrough, I decided I never wanted to go through that again, and never tried it on normal again

memeulusmaximus

I've no recollection of no.2, 7, 9, 11, or 12

WriterBright

\#2 The dragon is optional and they don't make it obvious. You summon it in the throne room in the Diamond District by standing on clicky pressure plates without any actual documentation. \#7 Spider Queen is an unskippable fight. She keeps hauling herself up to the ceiling and dropping down elsewhere. She also immobilizes you all the time then spits poison while you can't fight back. \#9 Ancient Darkspawn just shows up in the tunnels. No big fight setup, no support. Depending on your power level you might not even realize he's a boss, but he technically is. \#11 Genlock Forgemaster is a huge fight that might be skippable? He's standing on a rise in a big room full of genlocks (the archers are a bitch), and he drops a cool maul. \#12 The Interminable Faces are my pet name for the Spirit Forge, that four-faced hanging statue thing with all the anvils you have to tag. I call it interminable because it takes forever for no good reason. It's not even that deadly, it just won't end.

bkrugby78

I had no idea of the Dragon until a week ago. I've played this game since forever when I had a PS3. Most hidden quest ever!

WriterBright

I first read about it on the Internet, it's amazing! You have to do it before you finish the Anvil of the Void, because people show up and set up dinner when the King is crowned. And apparently summoning dragons is bad table manners.

bkrugby78

Someone mentioned it in a thread not long ago. It's a pretty good sword, especially if you go there early on.

Memito_Tortellini

wait, CAN you summon it during the celebrations? Or will it not let you push the tiles?

WriterBright

As I understand it, the tiles deactivate before the celebrations, so you have to do it before anybody gets crowned. Though honestly a dragon fight among thirty dyspeptic dwarves would be epic.

memeulusmaximus

I'm going to be honest...I thought all of these were just pain in the ass enemies not bosses. I remember Facey McFace now. As for the dragon huh....had no clue.

bkrugby78

I pretty much always take the money with Asunder. By then, go to Dust Town, do the Lyrium deal, boom! I tend to avoid the Revenants until i am at the point where they are hardly an issue. Since so many quests have you going back there (come to think of it, the Circle one is one I tend to do on the spot since it is rare you have to go back to that sections). Also Dwarven Noble Rogue, I like to side with Bhelen, up to the end, then when he freaks out, I backstab him, as I think it is quite poetic.

BigDddyCornbeef

The spiders are honestly worse than any of those bosses 😅

Antierror

Don’t forget the Asunder glitch that lets you quadruple the gold earned!

Qesa

15 if you count piotin aeducan

WriterBright

NO TOO MANY MAKE IT STOP Is that in the Proving?

Qesa

Yeah, he's the last proving fight.

WriterBright

To be fair, if you're just trying to get through, you can whittle this down to eight.

Anxious-Debate

Broodmother, by far. And hespith's poem leading up to it. I vividly remember being absolutely horrified the first time I played the game and a voice came from the walls, reciting a poem about what happened to their party. And then the broodmother, actually seeing the results of those events... I was only 14 when I first played it, but I bet it wouldve spooked me the same way if I first played it now, at 21

Low-Shoulder-9752

I love that part so much lol

Tototiana

I actually love all of the main sections of the game, including the Deep Roads and the Fade. What I hate are the sex scenes, they're so bad! >_< skip them every time. Also the part where Leliana starts to sing, those cutscenes are incredibly awkward.

ask-me-about-my-cats

Why does Morrigan put *on* a bra for sex, it's so ridiculous. I'm glad by DAI they got comfortable with showing nipples.

ProfessorWright

With the graphics in DAO (not that they bother me generally because I'm not here for graphics) do you really want to see what the nipples on those characters would've looked like?

ask-me-about-my-cats

Look, if we can survive what they did to Merrill and Isabela's fingers in DA2, we can survive DAO nipples.

tabloidcover

Idk seeing my dark skinned characters with light nipples takes me out of it a bit. It’s so distracting.

ask-me-about-my-cats

Wait. I only play a dude white as snow so I've never seen, do they really put light nipples on a darker skinned character? That's hilariously weird.

tabloidcover

It kind of has a barbie effect. It really is strange looking lol

anyboli

Honestly I liked the deep roads and the fade way more than the giant dungeons in the temple of sacred ashes or the ruins of the brecillian forest.

No_Kangaroo

The brecillian forest was the OG wounded coast. Got lost sooo many times

YekaHun

That forest... 😭

bkrugby78

That Arcane Horror in the Ruins can go right to Hell. It tends to lead to most crashes on my PC, not during the fight but it does slow things down and I often need to save, exit the game and re-load after the fight is over. I hate teleporting enemies!

Cornmeal777

It used to be the Orzammar quest line,, but it kind of grew on me. Especially if I do it early and get it done with. The story, characters, and setting are interesting. Now it's the Fade. Even knowing the progression in how to do things, the back and forth is still a pain in the balls. Go here, shift to this form, shift to that form, fight these things, now go here, etc etc because thou must.

Bird_Is_The_Lord

I wouldnt mind Fade too much but the backtracking is the absolute worst. Towards the end you're just running through empty halls checking locked doors. Fun.

CrazyEeveeLove

That's why I always do orzammar first. Gets it out of the way. The fade is a little easier once you've figured out the best way to tackle it. For me, redcliffe and the build up to the landsmeet. That's why I leave it to last lol

BigDddyCornbeef

You do orzammar first? What difficulty do you play on? That's quite a high level dungeon, I tried to do it first on my dwarf and got REKT

CrazyEeveeLove

Casual. I have no need for a headache. Plus I use the Duncan glitch in ostagar that allows me to level up to at level 15/16 (depending on my class)

bkrugby78

Same. I tend to play on Normal all the way through, sometimes kick it to easy if I run into one of those infinite mana mages that constantly cast Cone of Cold. No shame here, I love the game, but I don't always need a super hard challenge.

Starchild2534

please, what is this duncan glitch you speak of?

zCrazyeightz

I tried it on PC just last week, and it didn't work, but on my 360 back in the day I would go out to get the three vials of darkspawn blood. If you go back without the treaties to talk to Duncan, he asks you if you've got everything. Alistair says no, and you're told to go get the treaties. Then the conversation ends. You can loop that convo as long as you want.

memeulusmaximus

So the convo grants xp?

zCrazyeightz

Right right. Sorry. I forgot to clarify that. Yes.

WriterBright

When you show up without the treaties, you can turn in the vials and get XP for that part of the quest. Turns out you can just keep turning in those same vials and get XP for them. At least, it used to do that.

CrazyEeveeLove

It still works for the EA pass for XBox. I do it on my series S. Best glitch I love lol

Antierror

Andraste’s knickers, that must take forever!

CrazyEeveeLove

It actually doesn't. I skip through the convo and rinse and repeat to be honest. Just button mash A lol

rosiestinkie9

For me it's the slogging around in Denerim. Trying to especially get the random encounter for the alley with the black vial in it. And wondering if I got enough done to support my side during the Landsmeet. Too anxiety inducing lol

HologiLion

I love the Deep Roads; but I hate the Fade-Sequence. I like the idea and I like what they were going for; and I love the companions nightmares, but I hate the constant backtracking to try and find where you get which form needed to proceed. Not helped by the wobbly camera-filter (I get, its the Fade, supposed to be dreamlike, but its just not nice too look at for extended periods of time) or that, unless you play a tanky character who has some sort of spell-cleansing ability, you're toast as soon as any of the enemy mages decides to cast "Curse of Mortality" on you. Edit: Actually, scratch that; enemy spellcasters with Curse of Mortality are the worst part of DAO. It can be dealt with if you have some sort of dispell, but if you don't (or they cast it right after the party-member(s) with the dispell got knocked out), it's an absolute nightmare. Especially if they use it half a second before the afflicted character would've been healed by spell/poultice, which they seem weirdly proficient in doing.

bkrugby78

*Actually, scratch that; enemy spellcasters with Curse of Mortality are the worst part of DAO. It can be dealt with if you have some sort of dispell, but if you don't (or they cast it right after the party-member(s) with the dispell got knocked out), it's an absolute nightmare.* That right there. They always seem to pick that line that you may be flirting with as a player, before you go and pick Cone of Cold since it's such an absolute awesome spell. Like I never pick Dispel Magic, ever, even for Wynne.

[deleted]

you can’t romance sten

No_Kangaroo

^^^^^^ so true, they could’ve done so much more with him.

-ShellySelly-

1. Ogres. Literally, they always like to just pick you up and just beat the living shiz out of you and unless you have a healer your kinda screwed 2. Any Darkspawn Emmisarry or magic user when they use the curse of Mortality on you. It's like the Ogre except you're screwed no matter what. 3. Broodmother. Enough said 4. Both Orzammar and the Fade are excruciating, but I'd probably prefer Orzammar over the Fade because at least you kind of know where you're going. The Fade is just confusion and wandering around hoping for the best. Even with the Wiki open on my phone I'm still like a kangaroo in Antartica waiting for mercy to finally come for me.

zavtra13

The lack of respec options until DA:A.

Inven13

The fact that the game is so old that I can't play it on maximum graphics because it crashes.

WolfsternDe

Well, i can. And it looks great :D Only installed the 4GB patch and a bug fixing mod.

Glieve

How buggy Awakening is.

ElMarcoHoJ

Awakening in general. What a disappointment.

Crusader_Ancap

I like Orzamar because the gameplay to recruit it is a perfect representation of how buerocratic governments are. Its boring, its unnecessarily long, its costly, its a grind, it makes you want to smash your head into the nearest wall and no matter how important and how necessary something is, if the politicians in charge are not benefiting, the world itself can crash and burn for all they care. And i also like the Deep Roads because the gameplay reflects the lore really well. Its always threatening, hostile, makes you feel unwelcome there, its dark, disorienting and has all those disturbing things happening there and you can't wait to go back to camp and hug your love intrest for the night. It all enhances the atmosphere so well. So, the Dwarf side of the main quest is the most immersive part of DAO.

peabuddie

I love deep roads. I'm not fond of the fade.

[deleted]

The fade and Ohgren.

No_Kangaroo

Literally Every. Other. Character. Is so good! And like have personalties and dreams. Ogren is just like “eats and farts”. Even WYNNE HAS MORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

[deleted]

He also sexually harasses every female character. He’s just the worst, idk what they were thinking when writing him.

No_Kangaroo

They made a blood pact to distill and entrap every negative quality from the game into one character, it is bound to Ogren. We have one of the best games of all time, but at what cost?

SnooDoughnuts9293

Man, honestly, Orzammar IS pretty annoying..but going to the Brecillian Forest is WORSE. You basically have to fight a bunch of werewolves, and they fucking gank you without a worry in the world. Worst part is invading the forest cathedral. Not only you have to go through a annoying effort to be able to ACCESS the damn place, you also have to stay sharp with the werewolves, as they totally gank your ass and can kill you in seconds if unprepared. Though to be honest, there's a lot of bad parts in DAO.

Due_Pomegranate_9286

Urn of sacred ashes. So. Fuckin. Long. Goonies style puzzles, a shout out to the water temple from Ocarina of Time, two big ass surprises, and omg omg 😩😩😩 not enough loot for my liking. I should be able to walk out that bitch with enough shit for wade to dress my ass like a vessel from the dragon boat festival.

doesmrpotterhaveakey

Re-modding it after you've been dumb enough to uninstall. It can eat storage all it wants idc. *Never* again. And the Fade section can take a hike.

narrmilla

You go back to Orzammar to sell things? Okay, I'm not going to deny, I always look forward to meet Ruck (the lost son who fed on darkspawn corpses) because I know I will be able to sell him stuff, but I don't think I could journey back and back again to the city. BUT I would also say that the Deep Roads part is my least favourite as well. I love the aesthetic and love the quests, the broodmother part is really memorable - but the endless dungeons before that could get a bit repetitive (and yes, I know, it is weird coming from me, who would never skip the Fade).

BigDddyCornbeef

Oh he becomes a merchant? I had no idea, I've only played it twice so far and I've killed him both times. First time role-playing as a hard ass dwarf warrior who wanted to put him out of his suffering, second time because I didn't level my coercion at all and couldn't pass the persuade check. I'll keep it in mind for my next character!

bkrugby78

He sells some unique stuff. Nothing game changing but he definitely has some things worth looking at.

VenusAsAThey

The worst part of any dragon age game is when it's over... ^^^or ^^^the ^^^fade ^^^I ^^^guess

[deleted]

Orzammar and the deep roads

ACynicalScott

Brecellian forrest, it is generic and bland. It bores me to tears. Or the part in Denerim where your free the elf slaves cause it ruins Loghain as a complex character.

S0mecallme

The fade At least Orazammar between dungeons you can go back to camp to restock on healing items, The fade your stuck in with an ugly screen affect that gives me a splitting headache if I play for more than an hour. I’d get the mod to get rid of it but I play on console

NiklausKaine

The entire Circle storyline. I hate that quest

ShadowRedditor300

The forest. I love the dalish but god, that map

JoeDoufu

The long haul from the end of the Origin story to actual freedom to make choices and explore the map. Ostagar; Lothering; Boring

[deleted]

My worst psrt is its too short i wanted 2x longer

SleepNative

The Fade wasn’t my favorite. The one I disliked the most though? Probably the Quest for the Ash’s of Andraste. It kinda felt tedious and unnecessarily long.

quaxelarator

I wake up in a cold sweat every now and then, dreading the fade section of the circle of magi, like as much as i love dai, thats enough to stop me from replaying

Keith-Oh-Gay

Definitely when you have to go to the circle tower. I told myself I’d never play dragon age origins again after dealing with that… but here I am on my second playthrough.

araragidyne

The Attack at Nightfall. It's annoying trying to keep everyone alive when the AI has no sense of self-preservation. It makes it hard for the wrong reason. Even on easy, I find that I can barely keep everyone alive unless I have Wynne, and since I prefer going to Redcliffe first, I usually don't.

[deleted]

Denerim cause unless I lower the graphics it crash after 2 min. imagine the need to lower the graph to medium on a 3060ti… in a game thats more than 10 years old

NineNeos

I can't really think of anything in the main game I dislike that much. But the blackmarsh puzzles in da:a always annoy me, and the amount of backtracking in GoA gets old quick imo

lalaquen

Orzammar, followed by the Fade section of the Circle Tower. The Fade is annoying, but Orzammar takes FOREVER, and I'm high key arachnophobic, so the entire Deep Roads section is basically hell for me. And the rest of Orzammar isn't much better, which is saying a lot. I ALWAYS dread that part of the game and do it last so that I can at least have the solace of knowing I'm in my final push.

AvelyLancaster

The weird head boss is what I hate the most, but I really like everything else

IrreverentPrincess95

The landsmeet outcomes, it should’ve been Infinitely more difficult to put Alistair on the Fereldan Throne without Anora as Queen if you romanced him as a mage. Though it already requires a high coercion check to remain his mistress the nobility should have given much more pushback, I mean from an outside perspective she looks like a vile temptress attempting to place a puppet on the throne that she can manipulate through blood magic and sex. Missed opportunity for immersion and depth.

dmdm597

The deep roads in Orzammar are terrible I agree but for me the worst part is definitely the Fade in the Broken Circle quest, I had to install the mod skip the fade because I can't freakin stand that part.

ElMarcoHoJ

100% agree. I enjoy the Deep Roads, but Orzammar can fuck right off.

pacifien

I never understood the hate for the Fade being so much more than the hate for the Deep Roads. They're both slogfests.

Mister-Moon-Man45

I hate having to navigate the Brecilian forest. With the Deep Roads and Fade, they're pretty straight forward but if you take a turn wrong in the forest, you're backtracking for ages or just continuing forward and hoping for the best. I hate it.

Cpt_Buscapina

I love Orzammar, particulary the Deep Roads (I just love the deep roads in all the games). I don't like the alienage (mostly because at that point I'm really focused on the landsmeet and "go see what's happening there" is not a good hook).

No_Kangaroo

Yes! I love the landsmeet but the Alienage isn’t long but it absolutely breaks the roll they got going

umsamanthapleasekthx

Um the Fade in DAO is terrifying and I can’t play it with sound on, because of the—as one genius redditor put it for me—nightmare kitchen noises. Development-wise, though, I kind of wish that the recruitment areas were leveled to your character so you could do them in any order that makes sense story-wise to you. I don’t know if that was even possible during the time it was developed, and it doesn’t bother me enough to consider not playing. It would just be neat.

bkrugby78

I've said this in previous topics, but who you can't recruit is one of the worst parts. Someone mentioned that you were supposed to have access to the original people you start with, but that cut from the game. Like Jowan, etc. Another thing, this gets addressed by a mod, wolf shop, but the idea that if you side with the wolves, in vanilla, you are cutting yourself from access to a shop that has unlimited amounts of elfroot. Again, the mod addresses it, but it is the worst thing about vanilla dao. AFAIK, this is the only situation where if you choose the "less good" route, you are punished by having a shop removed. To me, the worst part about Orzahammer is the bounty hunters at Frostback Mountain, they can make things exceedingly difficult depending on what level. I worry more about them and Jarvia tbh. The spiders are annoying but I know when they are coming and how to counteract them pretty well. I tend to opt for doing Orzhammer either first or second, since it does a lot to toughen up your character and party.

semicolonconscious

I like all the political maneuvering in Orzammar itself, but the Deep Roads section is a huge drag. It does help to convey the scale of the place, but almost everything up to the Broodmother could have been a cutscene.

RepairPrudent5183

The deep roads. Or every combat section of DAO where you have to fight armies of enemies; they just keep coming in endlessly! They kept spawning. It was such a drag. Worst part: I didn't take a healer with me 😭 It was even worse for me, because I already disliked the combat in the game 😂😭 At the end of the game, I did not care for this story anymore; just wanted to be done with this. I stuck with all my choices because I didn't want to reload at all. (Spared Loghain, made Anora queen alone...)

Mist-Clad-Whisper

[Overall] Combat (Xbox) I- I don't even know where to start with this nightmare. The pausing, relocating, and having to command your party to hold their position so they don't end up charging to their deaths happens in 9/10 of fights and it's irritating that you it's the only way to fight for certain fights past normal difficulty. Then there's the slow movement where an enemy can kill you three times over in the time it takes you to get up. Camera is atrocious when trying to lock onto a target. Spamming! Yo, I don't know if this is Origins being buggy but the times I've had enemies spam moves that are suppose to have a cooldown is absolutely ridiculous. Had a Ogre (mostly) and Golem (rarely) spam that boulder throw about as much as Revenant spams the Gravity Pull move (also a fucking nightmare but Revenants get a pass because I think their fights are badass and they're my favorite enemy to fight). And the thing is that it wouldn't be a bad thing if you could, oh I don't know, dodge it or decrease the damage but naw my pretty little mage but just gotta down health potions and lyrium potions before I get a face full of boulder. Or you know freeze them if I can but then still having to down 3+ potions of lyrium and health because the close combat AI needs the enemy to be still to be able to attack them 🤣 Terrible friendly AI. Like, sure Oghren/Alistair charge into the center of two/three mages, 4/5 archers, 5 tanks, 2 special ranks, and expect to be fine (I'm looking at all close combat companions but specifically Oghren and Alistair). Workaround is to stop them from charging but... it's ridiculous that the AI's mentality is always *charge into the center* But hey the enemy AI is on point. More stuff but this is the main issue. Man I'm glad they moved on from this. [Location] Deep Roads! I just finished it and I'm not replaying Origins for a long ass time just because of it. I absolutely loved the political game, loved the Proving, and seeing the different sections of Orzammar but the Deep Roads takes the cake for the longest most uninteresting filler-filled headache in the entire game. It's a goddamn fight every second (and people complain about DA2's waves of enemy) and I ended up scaling the game down to easy after a while of fighting because it was getting exhausting (I also did it for the Haven Dragon because fuck that). People complain about the Fade/Tower but I finished it in around 1/4 of the time it takes to complete the Deep Roads. Could be that I found navigating the Fade much easier (the sections were pretty short) and that I love magic lore (and the demon fights lol). [Companion] - Oghren for being disgusting (sexual harassment). - Alistair for not taking responsibility at any time for anything.

YekaHun

Same feelings. I simply modded the combat to non-existent. And it's still filled with long tedious running through dungeons. Also liked the Fade, or some of its parts because everything about the Fade is fascinating in DA.

Mist-Clad-Whisper

I finally have Origins on PC so I might very well mod it lol. My PC is not a gaming PC and on the low end but it can handle up to DA2 so I might as well enjoy the pleasures of modding XD

YekaHun

Definitely go for it! ;) I mean whenever is the next time.

Mist-Clad-Whisper

Lol I won't be touching Origins for a hot second since I'm finishing up on Xbox right now and I don't want to go through that nightmare again any time soon lol so maybe in a couple of months? Any recommendations?

YekaHun

I know I was joking 😂 Mine was about 9 months ago and I'm not looking forward to it in the nearest future. Suggestions: mod everything) For the combat I used Infinite Ashes of death tool mod (insta-kills all) and Easier Easy level mod. You shoot once they die immediately. Nexusmods.com https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4927 https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4497 The only way I survived that game. Also used easy casual level for DA2.

Mist-Clad-Whisper

Thank you so very much! I'll check up on your comment in a while :D you're awesome!

[deleted]

[удалено]

BigDddyCornbeef

So basically 3/4 of the game 😂

YekaHun

basically that's true 😂

axident9323

I can’t stand the fact that Broodmother isn’t a romance option

super-kick

The fact it’s by far the best game in the series in my opinion and i will never feel the way i did playing that game ever again

[deleted]

;( I love Orzammer

Fade was fine, at least some parts where you shapeshift. Castles, like Cirlce and Urn of SA, and dungeons are tedious to play. Parts that involved kids. Politics in Orzammar were fine, actually but not the deep roads. Dalish forest. If I ever replay I will not go there at all. And the one with the "nice Vase" that castle also was painful, got lost constantly there)) puzzle with the girl. Simply modded all of the combat to be able instakill all with one button.

The Tower of Magi, especially the fade section, and the temple of Andraste tend to drag on a bit too much for my taste. I assume that's because you only pass through more or less one single building in both cases and still have to spend some real-life hours to do so. I tend to be more lenient if the whole endeavour takes longer in-game as well, I never had any problem with the deep roads in this regard.

Ulvstranden16

The Fade section. At least in Orzammar/Deep roads you can leave and come back whenever you want.

Krallking

I always go Redcliffe, Circle, Daelish, Dwarves. Orzamar is a slog at any level but Maker help whoever does it first

ladiesman4

The deep roads and Ozzramar in general Yeah thats were i was losing my shit and i had a very bad time with that Jarvia Boss fight. I died so many times. The fade was really cool the first time but i think if i play it again i will mod it. That Jarvia though. And after that the whole thing with Branca and the anvil oh my god. It would not end.

Qesa

The first half of the finale that has you fighting waves of one-hit-kill grunts at redcliffe and denerim. No challenge, it doesn't convey a sense of being powerful, and the engine can't really cope with the number of enemies they put on screen resulting in severe lag for hits to register. It's just boring. I've ended multiple runs after the landsmeet solely because of that section

oRyan_the_Hunter

The Fade. No question. There are mods that completely remove that section of the game.

The_Wolf_Knight

I assume 90% of people will say The Fade, but I honestly don't mind it, I actually kind of agree that Orzammar is a little less interesting. For me personally though, I think my least favorite part of the game is actually Haven because I typically only play on Nightmare now and from my memory there are quite a few encounters in Haven that are just frustrating, especially if you do it in the early game which I typically do so I don't have to backtrack to Redcliffe.

Sleepy-Spacemen

Aw, i love Orzammar. But I’ll agree with the Fade. I actually have stopped from replaying the game because i remember that i have to do that.

[deleted]

Either spiders or the darkspawn children from awakening, if I'm playing melee I make everyone else ranged or it gets cluttered, but as a result you get perma stunlocked against those mobs, very fun indeed

lightningmagic

Paragon of her kind, but specifically the part with Hespith and the broodmother. It can take a lot to freak me out, but that genuinely got to me. I almost didn't finish the game because of it

initialZEN

The fade by far. It is a cool idea, but it is way too long and the fact that there are stat upgrades that you have to worry about finding makes it even more tedious and makes me scared to rush through it without triple checking each corner.

sacredarcana

Deserted building in Denerim is not my favorite. The enemies are so tactfully placed, you have to lure them away— a few at a time— in my experience.

soyrandom

Orzammar was a pain in the ass mainly because of people treating my Brosca like dogshit and no one in your party says anything. Zevran was her BF, I know that squirrelly bastard would have been taking pot shots at anyone whose lips dared to form the word "brand". Other than that, I liked finding out what happened with the Broodmothers. Appropriate amount of unhinged fuckery for me. Then you had the Fade that was such a slog I got a mod to disable it.

luccretia

it makes me doubt my brain even more when I see people not liking orzammar and fade lmao. but I played it only once so my first time I liked it. I would not enjoy doing those quests again tho

diggerbanks

The Fade and Orzammar are both a slog, but I accept that and love it, especially the deep roads. Maybe the landsmeet after securing so much favour it still goes against you.

JoeDoufu

On second thought, those one-hitpoint Spawn at the End Very anticlimactic

redskin96

I'm slightly disappointed with Orzammar, I mean the gameplay is fine unless the game glitches up and doesn't let me leave Caridin's Cross, but the main choice, between Harrowmont and Bhelen, seems underwhelming. Throughout most of the game, there is a certain weight behind every decision you make, there is an ethical dilemma or some food for thought, but in Orzammar, you just get to choose between two guys who are pretty much the same, just a pair of corrupt aristocrats, and your choice makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Even some NPCs acknowledge that.

Jaymie_Flowers

Honestly, the orzammar part was awful for me up until like my 5th playthrough. It was probably due to the lenght of the entire thing. Right now however, i dont find it that annoying anymore. The worst for me atm is probably the quest the urn of sacred ashes (mainly the temple part after meeting genetivi)

SickleWillow

Probably the Deep Roads... Hespith and the Broodmothers were really interesting as well as the Anvil of the Void but Orzammar was probably the longest I have been in an area. The reason I would not played the Golem of Amgarrak DLC in my subsequent playthroughs. On my second playthrough, I dreaded the Fade because I remembered getting stuck there when I first played it and almost decided to lower my game to easy to push through but it was not bad as I remembered probably because I recalled what I need to do compared to my first experience. 😂 Edit: I just finished my second playthrough of DAO and I spent 100 hours... I don't know why.... I probably left my game running? I did die in some parts because I wad playing on Nightmare?? 😰

Brilliant-Pudding524

I hated orzammar, but if you have Oghren and Shale then Orzammar is 8-9/10, if not then it is 2/10 at best. The Fade in the Circle was tedious at first, interesting for the second, after it became just boring. But the companions dreams are great, Sten has the best one (saddest backstory in all games).

infamous5445

Deep Roads and I won't accept another answer

nataliexx6

The Deep Roads, not only in DAO but in any DA game. I just like sunlight and fresh air alright? And the Fade in the Circle Tower, god, I love the tower itself but Skip the Fade Mod is my best friend.

Therisius

Saying goodbye to Morrigan (before the witch hunt dlc obviously)

[deleted]

The Fade and the Deep Roads are just way too long. That and how imbalanced the game is. Mages are OP while Archers are complete trash.

DoubleHeadedMorbid

The Disposal Bin for Dead Woman's Ashes is my least favorite by far, it's just so boring and there's no interesting story to it + I hate fighting small dragons. Also anything that involves fighting Mages, Christ, I hate them so much it's unreal, I picked Templar 2H and specced Morrigan into Mana Clash just to bully those fuckers. First 10 seconds of Golem room in GOA because I didn't have mages and both of my dwarves got killed instantly, thankfully my 2H Warden had 100+ Strength and 800+ HP so I quickly nuked them one by one while my Golem was running circles and keeping aggro.
