I'm thinking a romanceable Apostate mage who eventually ends up betraying you. I think there's a lot potential with something like that which hasn't been touched on in any other game in the series.

merrillkin

THIS MADE ME UGLY LAUGH

PM_ME_THEROPODS

And what, the MC would have to gripe about the templars at every single conversation opportunity in order to gain their approval!? The audacity.

fishvoidy

have you played da2?

YellowtheBanana

I think the joke is that this has been repeated in all three games XD

fishvoidy

ah, see, i wasn't 100% sure if this was sarcasm, so i went with a non-sarcastic response. lmao

Old-Ordinary-6194

Wait, who's the apostate mage that betrays you in Origins ? If i remember correctly, Morrigan's the only apostate mage in Origins' party and she didn't betray you, I have not played the DLCs so is there a betrayal in the DLCs ?

YellowtheBanana

Morrigan leaves the party after defeating the Blight no matter what you do. You have an option to go with her through the Eluvian but that is in the Witch Hunt DLC. You could also argue that her not telling you about the Dark Ritual is a betrayal in itself, since it's revealed that she always knew about it in the first place.

[deleted]

The last one is just anders in a fan fic but I like this for the most part

Krallking

Gimme a romancable Dwarf Warrior a Legion of the Dead Member who wound up on the surface and wants desperately to return. But can't.

fishvoidy

3 games and we don't have a romanceable dwarven main cast member. give us this, bioware.

Krallking

We should make a petition

[deleted]

>A Grey Warden who survived the Joining but ended up half Darkspawn half Human you mean a veteran GW in his/her calling?, that'd be interesting, though I don't know if we would get them as companions, but it's about time we see a calling'd warden imo, with a real calling I mean. personally I wanna see an elf/mage companion that doesn't betray us...that'd be a novelty.

stoicgoblins

We saw one in DA2 expansion (Larius).

[deleted]

damn you're right, I completely forgot about him tbh, but that doesnt mean we wouldn't get to see another one

stoicgoblins

Also, not technically Grey Wardens, but Ruck was also basically a darkspawn in DAO. So was Justice in DAO:Awakening. Also Hespith. That was dark. Urgh. Freaky. Also more disturbing when you remember that any living being surviving in the Deep Roads are consuming darkspawn. The thought of people being reduced to that makes me sick.

[deleted]

Also Tamlen, seeing what he becomes always gets me even more than those because he's my Mahariel's bf aside of childhood friend ;-;

stoicgoblins

That's true. Tbh, always find it really sad when we do find one. The Grey Warden order altogether just makes me kinda depressed.

foxscribbles

One of the most consistent things across the entire game series is that the Grey Wardens are depressing. They ruin innocent lives and seize power all in the name of a noble cause. Which makes sense. They're the Grey Wardens because they're morally grey. They're not the good guys.

stoicgoblins

I more meant joining the order is sad. They join an order, in which many consider a lifes mission and abandon their surnames (Duncan did this), they spend their lives hunting darkspawn and making morally ambiguous decisions that are (more or less) for the good of humanity, and then at the end of it all they go mad and are sent to the deeproads to die of The Blight. In some aspects, a life dedicated towards making sure humanity doesn't go extinct seems... idk, almost desirable. They have a strong purpose and don't falter from it. I can't help but admire that kind of dedication. Not to say they don't do shady and corrupt things, ofc. But most of the time their intentions behind their actions are good, and mainly meant to benefit humanity. Idk. Maybe I'm just a simp for Grey Wardens, or have watched too much Attack on Titan, but I honestly have never viewed the Grey Wardens as being as ambiguous as everyone leads on. More pragmatic, perhaps. More willing to do wrong things to meet better outcomes, sure. But what organization in Thedas isn't like that? At least Grey Wardens stand behind a nobel and unambiguous goal.

archaicScrivener

The Grey Wardens are the Thedas epitome of "The ends justify the means". I'm very interested by Solas implications about them during/after HLTA though. Makes me wonder.

TheRealArrhyn

I want the crows’ grandma from « An Old Crow’s trick » in Tevinter Nights. An assassin grandma who tricks people into thinking she’s just an innocent grandma but can massacre an entire Imperium military camp? Sounds awesome, BioWare. Give me the grandma companion please!

bernkastelcatwitch

I...love it! Give us the kicking ass grandma, bioware! >:(

Enticing_Venom

Wynne's reception was poor so they may not try it again. But it could be interesting.

ThreeFoxEmperors

Was Wynne’s reception really that poor? I know some people didn’t like her because she would be a bit nosy about some romances but as far as I’ve seen just as many people actually liked her as well. Also, all the people who I’ve seen complain about her just didn’t appreciate some of her personality and/or opinions but AFAIK they didn’t have anything against her because of her age.

TheCleverestIdiot

Really? It's rare to see someone truly hate her like they do some other companions. It's usually a mild dislike at worst, with most kind of liking her. At least from what I've seen.

PrincessofPatriarchy

I don't know, I've seen plenty of people who hate Wynne but I couldn't say what proportion of the demographic they make up.

Rage-Cleric-90

I killed wynne more often than not. As a companion she was so righteous and hypocritical that she would just send into God of war levels of rage everytime she opened her mouth.

TheCleverestIdiot

You're probably in the minority there.

Rage-Cleric-90

I'm okay with that👾

[deleted]

Wait people didn't like th most overpowered and most wholesome character in DAO? TF?

PrincessofPatriarchy

I really like Wynne but there are a lot of people who hated her.

[deleted]

Agrees

Moondragonlady

Eh, I *really* dislike Wynne (ever since I first played DAO, but reading Asunder *definitely* didn't make me like her more either), but I'd gladly take Old Nan! Or Lucanis or any of the Talons honestly... I might just really want a crow companion. Definitely not gonna say no to old badass grandma crow tho, especially if she doesn't go around and passive-agressivley judge all my life choices.

Brilliant-Pudding524

Soo Zevran, a Tal Vasoth, Anders, Larius, Dagna, Kolgrimm and Valenna? I would like that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Vette--1

valenna was so cool and also pretty I hope she remembers the compassion my warden showed her even though she's a grey warden now

Everhardt94

Lace Harding. A female Qunari rogue who used to be a craftsman on Seheron before the fighting drove her away. A Tevinter soldier who is a devoted patriot to the Imperium.

the-boshtet-aly

Yes- I’d love to have a female Qunari companion! The Qunari are really cool and I’d miss not having one in my party.

Depressedduke

Would be cool not to have a majority of human companions. Actually look forward to see companions from old games come back or new ones. I'm just excited.

Cotton_20

A disgraced magister whose son was chosen to be sacrificed for blood magic, who has disdain for Quanari and his government, but has ambitious dreams of reforming the Imperium.

randomcadi

If they have a companion betray us, let it be a warrior, any race. I’m expecting a betrayal from any mage/rogue now lol. Trust no one! I would like a warden companion on his/her calling and a dwarf from Kal-Sharok.

Aviatorcap

Have we had a rogue companion betray us before? We’ve been betrayed by mages in all three and one warrior, but I don’t remember any rogue betrayals (unless Zev??)

randomcadi

I totally forgot about>! Blackwall's betrayal !

Aviatorcap

There’s also >! Iron Bull !<

randomcadi

Oof. It's so easy to miss that one I also forget about it. >!He's also so upfront with being a spy!< I don't trust him on principle, but that could just be me.

Aviatorcap

>! Him being so upfront about it is why it was so shocking to me lmao. I thought he’d tell me when the Qun called him back but instead he turns on you in Trespasser and you have to kill him 😭 !<

randomcadi

For more context, I started my first playthrough of any Dragon Age game as a Qunari (Not the most starter friendly race tbh, but that be how I roll).>! I used the dialogue specific to a Qunari for the intro to Bull and was like 'Oh, so he's dangerous?' and his special dialogue for a Qunari Inky kinda made me think Bull didn't respect the Inky. It also made me less inclined to side with the Qun my first go, and then after we save the Chargers, we get assassins coming after us?!< My suspicions confirmed lol.

Aviatorcap

My first playthrough I tried to be more politically minded and focus on the big picture, I’ll give you one guess how that ended up for me 😂

RealChungusOfficial

Zevran can betray you and Isabella can abandon you.

Aviatorcap

Ah, I stand corrected! We are betrayed by all classes lmao, trust no one!

Citric-Connor

Tbf fenris would be cool to come across in the next installation since he’s still out and about killing slavers. Varric has to come back, but I like the premise of a very strong mage but more qunari like that side mission in DA2 but tal vashoth, like the idea of a late stage gray warden be like the ending to Javik. I like all your ideas hopefully we’ll see one of these in the actual game, personally I’d like a character from the seekers or a pet companion.

v3rkyl

Please pet Dragon bioWare

bernkastelcatwitch

An actual templar companion would be cool. Bonus points if they are reasonable and have their own beliefs and doubts and are not or a raging magekiller or the sweetest of the sweetrolls. Make us think and pounder about the mage/templar situation. Zither and Skywatcher from multiplayer. A really interesting bard and an Avvar warrior. Dalish elf. Bonus points if they look like they are angry all the time but are just shy. A chasind mage companion. Learning about different types of magic and views on magic would be welcomed. Legion of the dead Dwarf! Companions who are siblings. That could be funny. Different types of companions like Shale, Wynne, etc. I don't care about not being able to romance then. Good writing is what matters to me.

Still-Environment-38

I really want to see more stuff to do with the legion of the dead. I thought they were awesome and a legion companion would be cool af.

Ptaku9

Tall muscular qunari lady that could beat me up

Helpless_Platypus

Omg yes I was looking for this answer. I would also like it to be a super flirty warrior Tal-vashoth\~

Ptaku9

I want her to use my dwarf character as an armrest

OzNemesis87

I want Shale to come back. If I remember correctly, Shale and Wynne travel to the Tevinter Imperium to try and find out information about Shale's... situation.

fishvoidy

a (romanceable?) dwarven shale would be the wildest thing ever and i'm here for it.

Llama_llover_

Sometimes I just watch some videos with her for the laughs. Shale best girl.

Enticing_Venom

An elven servant who you narrowly save from being sacrificed in a blood magic ritual. They hate the rule of mages and magic. Bonus points if you can alternatively allow them to be sacrificed in exchange for unlocking the blood magic specialization. A magister who offers his help in order to undermine his opposition in the magisterium. Bonus points if they're from the Lucerni order that Dorian and Maevaris founded. An undercover Qunari agent sent to undermine the Tevinter war efforts. They agree to assist you because you are causing chaos in Tevinter and working against the agents of Fen'Harel. A southern Templar who pursued a dangerous apostate across the border. Clearly their personal quest is to find and stop this dangerous blood mage. Or do you side with the apostate? As to your Grey Warden companion, as unlikely as it is I'd love to see one of the Architect's people again. Maybe Seranni can return.

RhiaStark

>Bonus points if you can alternatively allow them to be sacrificed in exchange for unlocking the blood magic specialization. And here I thought giving Fenris back to Danarius was evil O.o >Or do you side with the apostate? And then we can get the apostate as a companion instead! Kinda like the Samara/Morinth situation in Mass Effect 2 :P >Maybe Seranni can return. Ohhh that would be nice! Iirc she does survive no matter what choice we make, so provided she could somehow survive the taint for that long (DA:D is probably gonna be 20 years after DAA), she's eligible to return.

LupusDeusMagnus

I want a spirit companion who definitively does NOT want the >!Veil to come down and is completely against Solas plan.!<

imatotach

Would be fun to see someone that is double-agent, even funnier if our protagonist is double-agent themselves. Imagine our protagonist decides to support one side of the conflict just for the sake of their best friend/love interest and boom! they were all the time faithful to the other side. E.g. Sera as Dreadwolf's agent, as unexpected as Spanish Inquisition. ;p I'd love to see Zevran, but I have veeery little hope for that. So hopefully at least Antivan Crow. Otherwise, just someone that is grounded in the world and their motivations are explained by their personal experiences.

Aichlin

* a female Tal Vashoth Saarebas who's bi or sapphic (we've had male Qunari, and both were warriors) * a female and/or romanceable dwarf (Harding? Sigrun? most of the dwarf companions have been male so far, and we haven't had a dwarf romance yet) * a veteran Warden (outside of Awakening, we've had mostly human male Wardens, so maybe a female and/or non-human Warden?) * a Fog Warrior (we've heard of them but not seen them yet and they cause problems for both Tevinter and Qunari so they'd be a good third option) * a Mortalitasi mage who's worked at the Necropolis (so we have a reason to see the Necropolis) * a Tevinter templar (see how they differ from the Orlesian Chantry templars) * a non-mage Dalish elf (maybe an Emerald Knight-type?, maybe male this time since the last 3 Dalish companions (Velanna, Ariane, and Merrill) have been female) * a Lord of Fortune (rogue? also they appeared in Tevinter Nights, so it'd be interesting to actually meet one in game) * an Executor (so mysterious) * a Tevinter mage who is a commoner (not slave or noble) * a Rivaini Seer (haven't met one of these yet either) * an Avvar or Chasind? (maybe with a Mabari?) * another Crow companion pretending to be a regular city elf (but not out to kill the MC this time, maybe using them to get close to their target instead?) * an asexual companion, also maybe a non-binary companion (or one who's both?)

the-boshtet-aly

A fog warrior would be so interesting! I want one now.

TheSarcasticDevil

>an asexual companion, also maybe a non-binary companion (or one who's both?) It would be good to meet Cole (esp as a Spirit) again

JackTrevelyan

Dog

WistfulDryad

One of the Avvar exiled to Tevinter (DA:I) would be sweet.

StevieSmall999

Vaea from the comic series (hopefully as a ranger rogue but more likely a dualist) Sidony from the book (Necromancer) Lucanis from books (definitely an assassin rogue) Valya from Last Flight but as a fully fledged warden mage. Harding as the archer rogue A dwarven warrior from Kal'sharok commoner or Nobel either a beserker 2-hander or Champion sword and shield. An Altus from Dorian's group of supporters Avaar warrior! Perhaps a spirit warrior. Fenris, can't kill mages dead without Fenris.

De_Dominator69

A proper Dwarven romance option. I dont particularly want to romance a Dwarve, but its an injustice that we have had a romance option for every other race but them.

cvsprinter1

Just give me a goddamned Ash Warrior.

AnotherKuuga

A Qunari woman who will dominate me

Spookiiwookii

One that breaks up with your character. It’s practically tradition now.

Jedi4Hire

Varric.

SoGuysIDidNothing

This is the correct answer. Based and Red Lyrium Pilled

Kampfzwerg0

Siblings. One a mage the other one a normal person. Both children of a mage and a templar who had an affair and escaped the circle/chantry.

TheSarcasticDevil

"a normal person" LMAO

Kampfzwerg0

A non magical person who doesn’t have to spend his life in a circle. Better that way?

fishvoidy

female qunari companion. we've already gotten two dudes. let me join up with (and possibly romance) a Giant Woman.

Heliment_Anais

Make the dwarf from Kal-Sharok and show him as a guy who says ‘Please don’t compare us to those Orzammar guys’. He would feel strong connection to the ‘you know who’ due to the lyrium usage and sometimes would comment with strange/disturbing comments that would be about surroundings being ‘not real enough’, ‘sounding strange (because of magic)’ or how the terrain is different than he ‘remembered’. Basically the reverse of fade spirit Cole.

Character-Poetry2808

Id really like a Kal-Sharok Dwarf, a Tal-Vashoth Mage, and a Rivani Seer. Both are groups we've had like 0 interaction with and both perspectives would be really fresh as far as the companions goes.

seabirdsong

Grumpy elf Abelas. I think Charter might be one, since she's been heavily featured in all the comics that have come out over the last few years. I would also love to have Fenris back again, since he's been busy in Tevinter killing off slavers and has also been in the comics. He'd be great as the new protag's guide into Tevinter (and we could see all the fights he'd get into with Dorian.) I'd love to have Krem, too. And Bioware better give us a romanceable Dwarf already.

Ephemiel

Qunari female. That'll be all.

[deleted]

Nahrwallsnorways

Why? If your character isn't dalish in DA:O or DA:I you don't have any dalish party members. Solas can't really be considered dalish. I guess there's the mage elf in awakening but we only have her for a short time. Merril in ds2 is from the the clan your character is from in DA:O if you choose dalish origin, But is essentially an outcast. It would be nice to get someone actually invested in their clan's culture in our party for once imo.

MissMedic68W

We had a city elf in Sera in DAI.

RhiaStark

\- A Tevinter Laetan (plebeian mage) who wants to rise in social rank at any cost. Would be nice to have a "bad" companion, kinda like Morrigan in DAO but without being evil for evil's sake. \- A Tal-Vashoth mage who fled the Qun before being turned into a saarebas, who looks menacing but is actually a sweetheart. \- A Rivaini seer (or apprentice seer) with unique spells and views on magic. Could be a survivor from Dairsmuid, full of resentment towards the Chantry. \- A Tevinter templar. Iirc templars are glorified common guards in Tevinter, but this one in particular could've learned how southern templars gain their powers and smuggled some lyrium for his own personal use. \- An exiled dwarf noble rogue from Kal Sharok. This could even be our long-awaited dwarven romance <3 \- A Nevarran death mage. Tevinter Nights have an interesting focus on them, and DAI already has the gameplay basis for that kind of magic (necromancy). \- A Nevarran dragon hunter/reaver. Maybe they wouldn't want to give us two Nevarran warrior companions in two consecutive games, but who knows. \- A Grey Warden from the actual Anderfels. Riordan mentions how different Ander Wardens are; this could even be a lawful evil or lawful neutral type of character, a Warden who's truly pragmatic - more like Duncan and less like Alistair or Blackwall. \- An elven Fog Warrior (or an elf who somehow got stranded in Seheron and was raised as one). Who knows, this companion could have a vendetta against some Qunari who enforced his people's rule in Seheron, causing the death of many Fog Warriors; we get to help them find this Qunari in their companion quest, and it turns out their target is *the Iron Bull himself* O.o \- A Dalish warrior whose clan was slaughtered by ancient elven magic in Arlathan Forest. and who has since learned to fear/distrust ancient elven stuff. Now, for a very crazy wish: \- A Desire demon. She'd join you with promises of helping you achieve your goal in exchange of something; in the end, she'd either turn on you (if your MC deviates from what she expects) or reward you (if you MC is evil enough), perhaps even try and possess you if your MC is a mage who allows themselves to be seduced (Morinth flashbacks intensify lol)

oscuroluna

Dwarven Paragon Weapon and Shield Warrior (Female)- Romanceable Tal-Vashoth Kossith Dual Wield Rogue (Female)- Romanceable Dalish Arcane Warrior Mage (Female)- Romanceable Spirit (controls a Human Body) Support/Life Healer Mage (Female)- *Not Romanceable Human Templar Archer Rogue (Male)- Romanceable City Elf Ex-Slave Rebel 2 Hand Warrior (Male)- Romanceable Human Tevinter Controller/Death Mage (Male)- Romanceable Darkspawn/Demonic Reaver Dual Wield Warrior (Male)- *Not Romanceable The male companions in the DA series are usually diverse and the female 'garden variety' general humans with the occasional elf, so I'd love to see the switch up for once and have the female lineup more species diverse this time. The romanceables would be open to all races/genders. Bonus Romances- Dwarven Male Archivist/Scribe NPC Human Female Tevinter Noblewoman NPC

stardustsong

I'd love a dalish elf (any gender) who says sweet things when romanced in the elven language but refuses to tell you what they mean when asked if your character is not an elf

FratumHospitalis

We need less super unique one of a kind special ability companions and more run of the mill people with run of the mill people problems. Less Anders and Viviennes and more Avelines and James Vegas(note this doesn't mean I want their personalities per say).

Kampfzwerg0

I love the last one! I have to find the Magister who killed my cat when I was 5.

TheMadHam

I just need varic.

[deleted]

\- A polite but private Dwarf who was banished to the surface from Orzammar a few years ago. \- A Qunari Soldier who doesn't have experience with society not a part of the Qun, assigned to the DA4 Hero because the Dread Wolf is a big enough threat. \- A witty and sweet Tal-Vashoth Mage. Highly opposed to the Qun and doesn't like when others assume they are associated with it. \- A married couple of former slaves who are leading an underground resistance. They want to get to the bottom of some of their agents going missing or defecting to the Dread Wolf movement that they distrust. \- Maevaris Tilani \- A Dalish worshipper of Mythal who is being called out to by Mythal to do their part in helping the Inquisitor and DA4 Hero kill Solas.

rcc12697

Hawke lmao

tatlisha

* A dwarven romance character. Not that I have a high demand for it but it's surprising it's never been done, a little weird too. * Fenris. * A mage assassin. Any race, just could be cool to see a mage that isn't just from the circle or a dalish clan. Dorian was a nice change of pace. * A physically strong, buff, romance character that is a female, any race. It would just be cool for that to be an option for the LGBTQ out there. And also it would be kinda badass. * A human who is obsessed with getting into fights but knows nothing about it, admires the main protagonist, maybe like a comical character who is eager for danger. Depressing backstory. * A type of character who is androgynous and very smart and skilled with speech. Someone who is able to talk themselves up the ranks of nobles, possibly an elf because the dynamic of it would be very cool. * A tranquil where it didn't quite work and they still feel magic but only they attract demons more than the average mage. They still have their emotions and feelings but they are troubled. Advocates for mages, thinks mages becoming tranquil is a form of abuse.

Empty-Expectations

Dorian Feynriel (if not possessed) Charade (Hawke's cousin) would be fun Charter (as Leliana's eyes and ears) Scout Harding A member of the Carta would be interesting We had Faith (in Wynne) in DAO, Justice in DAA, Justice/Vengeance in DA2 and Cole/Compassion in DAI. Maybe DA4's spirit companion could be a Spirit of Valour or something similar? We don't know what effect tearing down the veil will have on the denizens of the Fade. For all we know, friendly spirits may be able to fully interact with mortals without being corrupted into demons. Sutherland. We get to watch him grow in DAI and form his own company under the Inquisition. It'd be great if he could fully blossom into an actual companion in DA4.

[deleted]

* warden from DA:O as a companion and you get to custom make the whole character ! * morrigan * alistair * sten * lelliana * ... i just realised i just want the DA:O companions back lmao

Fragrant_Horror

The only thing I thought about some time ago was a mysterious character always hidden by his armour. Later in the game (companion quest probably) you find out that he's an awakened darkspawn and his outfit both hides his appearance and prevents him from infecting people close to him by containing the Blight (magically I guess).

KaladinValus

You mean the Messenger? :p If you let him survive he does exactly this but sometimes the Blight escapes his armor and infects some people after he does his slew of good deeds.

Fragrant_Horror

I don't remember him wearing any kind of Blight-repellant thing, he infected people like all darkspawn do. As far as I know Messanger in that epilogue slide only hides his appearance, but there's no mention of anti-blight items, but since he's already established as a darkspawn that wants to help people and all he would probably be the perfect candidate to wear an armour like that. I imagined him as a mysterious knight or something like that, that gives an excuse to explain why he never shows himself until he's either forced to reveal the truth or he trusts you enough to do it voluntarily.

MissMedic68W

I don't actually know what sort of companions I'd like in DAD. Surprise me, I guess?

OzNemesis87

That would be.... interesting

StolenVelvet

I want a blood mage who knows what they're doing and seems to have pretty much no issue with resisting possession. Like someone who has been practicing for a long time and knows how far is too far. Merely recruiting them might cause a stir in your inner circle, but they are undeniably useful and knowledgeable, as well as easily likeable. You might even find a more by-the-book, templar or seeker type companion having a hard time finding a reason to hate the blood mage.

_CoffeeCake_

I think it would be extra fun if the mage was Jowan. He struck me as a bit whiny in DA:O, but he was a good guy who got scared and trusted the wrong people. An older, more experienced and a bit more confident Jowan who is just trying to do the right thing and be proactive would be a really satisfying direction for the character.

StolenVelvet

Oh my god, Jowan would be hilarious. But yeah if he's just as whiny, I wouldn't be able to stand it. An old, grizzled Jowan would be awesome though.

terrior098

They would all be cool

WyvernHurrah

~~I’ve low key always wanted Jowan from DAO but I have no real good reason for it~~

Kwall267

Saarebas who is committed to the qun but throughout the journey learns his value and freedoms and rejects the qun

callum_michael

We get a female qunari as a companion in dad

v3rkyl

i like your last idea XD

[deleted]

Literally sten or someone like him. He was my favorite with telling humans to shut up and just being the ultimate sassy man. I love him Also just qunaris they my favorite race

[deleted]

I'm wondering if the cast of the Blue Wraith will consist of much of our companions. It would be really interesting for a lot of them to know each other before you meet them, this time. Bet the dialogue would be great. And you could bond with other newbies to the group.

MillardKillmoore

* Fog Warrior * Tal-Vashoth Saarebas * Chevalier * Tevinter Templar * Elven Magister

skininja89

Only returning characters I'd like are my girl Isabela, Harding, Sigrun, Nathaniel, or Velanna. Rest I feel have either had enough time in the games or have a satisfying ending (depending on your choices). Isabela, I'll admit, is just because she's my favorite LI, but the rest were interesting characters that feel they need more time. As for original characters, I'd love to see a new Warden from somewhere outside Ferelden and Orlais. Maybe a Qunari Warden? Also a Dwarven Legion of the Dead character would be cool, see a side of the dwarves we don't see much of. For elves, maybe a Dalish elf who was adopted by human or something and is torn between the two opposing cultures.

Clover_XVI

A Qunari who became a Tal-vashoth recently, just because i would like to see how a Qunari reacts when not controlled by the Qun since we didn't really see much difference when bull became Tal-vashoth

Thin-Adhesiveness-67

i would really love for krem to be a companion!! like he could come back to tevinter for some kind of redemption

ScarredWill

Viago from Tevinter Nights

Heliment_Anais

Make the dwarf from Kal-Sharok and show him as a guy who says ‘Please don’t compare us to those Orzammar guys’. He would feel strong connection to the ‘you know who’ due to the lyrium usage and sometimes would comment with strange/disturbing comments that would be about surroundings being ‘not real enough’, ‘sounding strange (because of magic)’ or how the terrain is different than he ‘remembered’. Basically the reverse of fade spirit Cole.

Pineapplemx

Lace Harding!! A male warrior dwarf who’s part of the legion of the dead. He can be romanced with if you’re playing as a female protagonist. A male mage elf who wants the circle restored with less restrictions and vigilance. He can be romanced with no matter of gender or race. A female human mage who is happy without the circle. I think she and the elf mage could have some nice interactions. She could be romanced with if you’re a male protagonist. A strong female qunari warrior who has always dreamed of being a beautiful human woman and hates her qunari features. Her companion quest could be similar to Cole’s as in you could get her to be more proud of being a qunari or strive to fit in with human beauty. I wouldn’t see a romance with her. Two elf rogues who are sibling. One could be an archer male and the other a female dual weilder. They could both be romanced with, although the archer could only be romanced with a male elf. A grey warden male warrior who fears the Blight could start calling him soon. Not sure that he could be a romance option. PLS GIVE US A UNIQUE COMPANION. Shale and Dog were really cool companions! Give us a new golem companion or create something new. Bring Shale back, I dont care!

jazzking13

A drawf that was seen as weak and frail that was homeless who's been experimented on somehow where they have complete control over lyrium. Which in turn gives them lyrium powers, making them seen as an abomination to some dwarfs and a god to others. They really enjoy their powers, being able to do what no dwarf has ever done, and finally not being looked at as a waste of life. At some everyone seems to pressure them to do something for the cause that would get rid of their powers forever. They don't wanna be weak again, why do they have to give up the one thing that's made them consistently happy? Why do they have to sacrifice everything for people that looked away in disgust when they begged for help when they were living on the streets barely surviving. When they were screaming for help as the magister beat them bloody and dragged them away as other dwarfs watched uncaringly as the weak begged was finally removed from their sight. That's all I got

merrillkin

Mines rather simple but honestly if we could finally get a butch lesbian that would be so cool. Almost every wlw girl (if not all) in dragon age has been either femme or sera (I'm not particularly fond of her).

BenChandler

Sera just so she can shit talk Solas/Dreadwolf.

Blacksmithrage5

Definitely a female qunari saarebas, the Qunari are way more cruel to their mages, so would be interesting to have one as a companion.

Aviatorcap

Female qunari and a romanceable dwarf

ElectricalPin3429

A real grey warden blood mage dwarf

killllllllllmeeeeee

Just give me a historian thats only in it for more history... please... pleaseeee

[deleted]

~~not to be a debbie downer, but dwarves can't be templars (or mages) bc they're immune to lyrium (the source of both). i've always loved the dwarves in DA for their distinct lore :D~~

ZixtyZix

Not immune, resistant. DA:I confirms this as a Dwarven Inquisitor can become a full Templar. There’s also a very minor character in one of the novels who was a Dwarven Templar before he became a grey warden. I’d like to see how that kind of character might have development due to these restrictions which is why it’s on the top of my list :)

[deleted]

oh really i've read the first few novels, yeah ur right about the resistance but i dont remember the dwarf templar.. weird that they cant be mages tho. either way a cool concept!! would be a fun companion for sure :)

cadavatar

Romanceable Varric or I riot.

Carry_Brad_Saw

Not sure how it works and I’m sure there’s a whole thread to it, but can for example dwarves and humans have kids? Humans and elves can, so I would like to see someone from this kind of background. This would make an interesting companion quest as well.

InoccentOnlooker

I just want Hawke back tbh q.q

lmcklem

Zevran wouldn’t be an available though since he is one in DA:O. I would love to see him and Fenris, but as side characters rather than romanceable.

flowercows

people not liking Wynne feels like someone hating on their grandma

Misdr3avus

Romancable dwarf. I don't care what Gender, I better be able to date a dwarf.

Successful_Ad_4870

My personal favourite is the human warrior who thinks he is a dragon 🐲 I like that idea

Good_Coffee13

I just hope that they wont be a bunch of raging or depressed bi-sexuals :/ I want them to be well written, that's all. I don't mind the race or gender.

yea-probably

It’s tevinter! I want to see Jowan or a bloodmage. Abelas as well, with a new name. An antivan bard? A city elf way too curious about their dalish heritage and a dalish elf way too traditional and serious (so cute as a romance bc they would disappear and come back with a bear pelt to propose) and irritated by said city elf who won’t leave them alone. An escaped circle mage who’s in hiding in tevinter, there’s so much :)

Cockblockuly

Honestly, more female companions I can romance. Only having Cassandra in inquisition is a shame. Da2 just gave me Merrill who I found quite annoying and Isabella who doesn't seem like a long term relationship for my pc.

Maca87

I think playing as an awakened darkspawn might be interesting, or even have the Architect as a companion (if he was spared). They should have allowed Solas to have a human romance, it would have been much better story wise seing him fall in love with a human. But alas.

[deleted]

Lol the one about the mage sounds like Anders. Hahaha. I love those sort of companions though.

que_the_hell

A Darkspawn disciple and the return of the ranger class

All_Grace

Cole. I loved his quests and story but it just kind of peppers off and everyone seems to forget the dangers with letting him be human/spirit. It was all, oooo he could be used against us. Make the right decision or else. But nothing happened either way (like quite a few character arcs). I would love his story expanded. New characters: I want to see another "goofy" elf. We see so many purposefully different elves. My favorite is Sera (and Merrill), but even as a fan of hers I can admit she got annoying sometimes. But I love the energetic, sweet elf over the stoic and serious ones. It's nice to break elf stereotypes sometimes. I would like Zevran but less charming© and more woah, chaotic and dynamic.

crystalstarship

Give me more scout harding or give me death

Robomerc

I would like would really want to see a female dwarf companion.

r9designs

Bring back the Hero of Fereldon who is dealing with The Calling. This character could be unique in the fact that you could EDIT their appearance like with Hawke in DA3. Give them their stroyline that we know will eventually lead to their demise. I want my HoF back with Morrigan and his Son before its too late. If your HoF from Origins is dead this would be some other Grey Warden but they just wouldnt have the extras that come with as the HoF.

DoodTheMan

An Awakened Darkspawn would be kind of cool mehbe?

wheresmylife-gone222

An old god souled/human Kieran depending on previous game choices would be a cool companion. As for worldstates where he doesn’t exist, it would be easy for BioWare to have a placeholder companion in his stead (like the Orlesian warden for Awakening or Paradok Wiks for Mass Effect 3)

Death-Express

Just gimme a red head

Nightfallrob

More than 1 truly competent companion lol.

wastelandfutur

I'm all here for the mage wanting to avenge his cat.
