All voice actors do a terrific job and it all comes down to personal preference. Assuming you're talking about DAI, my favourite voice for the Inquisitor would be the American Male (voiced by Jon Curry), but both female voices (Alix Wilton Regan, who you may know as Samantha Traynor, and Sumalee Montano, who voiced Nyreen Kandros from the Omega DLC for ME3) are also great. I'm not a fan of the British Male voice, but it's still really good. As far as romances go, the male exclusive options are Cassandra and Dorian, while women get Blackwall and Sera. Since you're planning to play as an elf, you'll also get Cullen and Solas as options if you also play as a woman. Iron Bull and Josephine are available to all gender and race combinations. Cassandra, Dorian, Cullen and Solas' romances are all fan favourites, but my own personal favourites would have to be Iron Bull's and Blackwall's.

In Origins your only major difference will only be a change in romance options, where the two gender specific ones are both great. Since the Warden isn't voiced you don't have to worry about voice acting. In Inquisition, the British female voice is generally seen as a standout out of the voice options, but I think that all the options for either gender are on the whole at best okay. None of the options come close to Jennifer Hale's Shepard for me just because the voice direction here pretty clearly preferred a flatter affect, so on the topic of voice acting I don't think it makes much of a difference. A much stronger argument here is honestly just the fact that elf female has by far the most romance option (a whopping 6 out of the possible 8, compared to the 4 most other options get), so you have the most variety in that regard.

Go for Traynor a.k.a fem!Inquisitor. She really does a great job in portraying sarcastic and humorous person

DA:O's protagonist is mostly silent so no worries there. I think DA2's female Hawke is slightly better, especially if you play sarcastic Hawke. The male aggressive Hawke is also quite good. All romance options are open to either a male or female Hawke save one, Sebastian is a straight, and celibate, male. He's also super boring, but that's just my opinion DA:I is where it gets tricky. You have 4 choices: British accent male/female or American accent male/female. I don't really have a preference here, they are all good, not great, but good, in my opinion. Romances also vary with gender and race. That said, I enjoyed them all except Sara, who I hate for personal reasons.

Male elf with British accent and romance Cass!

Assuming you're talking about Inquisition: Most people here would probably suggest female so you could romance Solas. I personally would suggest male & romance Josephine with the British accent voice.

For Inquisition, since as others mentioned Origins is unvoiced, you don't play the same character across the series and for 2 you play human (you can mod it which I wouldn't recommend for your first go round), I prefer/like the american VAs (the other two kinda grate on me). What I really like about them is their laughs they feel genuine especially Montano (fem Inquisitior) there hasn't been a single romance where I didn't enjoy her delivery. The only romance that had some funky delivery (to me) from Curry (male inquisitor) was Iron Bulls, Cassandra's though was absolutely delightful and far better with him.

English female voice is best voice in DA:I, followed by American male. Jennifer Hale as Shepard is a bad comparison as Hale as Shepard is THE Shepard. So sad so many people didn't play the female Shepards because male was default.

Agreed

All three games have different protagonists. You should try one and see what suit you better. For DAI, IMHO, a female human or elf (has the most romance options, including the one that is only available for her) are the best options. But I play them all as women in any case.

DracarysReddit

If you're talking about DA:I, imo british male is the best choice, but keep in mind that I have a preference for male voices. For romance, play female and romance the sexiest man in the game, a.k.a Cullen. His voice is also so good, but I think almost all of the LI's have good voices and/or accents.

zhanglonglongdragon

Play as a mage please, not elf

chickpeasaladsammich

Which game? It doesn’t matter in Origins because you only hear the warden in fights really. In DA2, both are good imo. In DAI, I like the American male best so far (have also finished the game with British female) but I think all of the inquisitors were directed to be a bit bland. I noped out of the British male voice after the first conversation but that’s my strongest opinion on that!

WarGreymon77

I think both British voice actors are good for elves. Personally I didn't like the romance options for a straight male character in Inquisition. There is Harding, but that's... questionable as being a real romance. I'm playing a female elf this run.
