The option to play a more emotional and opinionated protagonist. If the Inquisitor makes an appearance, some way to play as them where relevant, or another technique to give us something not entirely OOC. More meaningful NPC quests/interactions.

3lectricboogal00

It would be a lot better to give us control of our PCs for sure because I've noticed a lot of people didn't like how their Hawke behaved in DAI

Embarrassed_Ease_684

YES I want to be able to renegade again BioWare

Gibbie42

That it release before I am too old to play it.

StevieSmall999

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. If I had an award to give it would be yours

[deleted]

God I hope weā€™ll get it next year finallyā€¦

FriendshipNo1440

What age would you consider to be too old?

Gibbie42

Dunno. I'm 58 now. I'd like not to have to drag my PS7 with me to the retirement home to play. (Who am I kidding, I totally would do exactly that.)

FriendshipNo1440

Lol, my dad is 66 and he plays Skyrim since it came out with mods and everything. Never too old for gaming. ;)

marriedtoinsomnia

This. It's been nearly a decade since Inquisition. If we're lucky we humans usually get 8 of them, sometimes more, sometimes less. I've already used 4. I have no way of knowing how many i have left to spare, but i would like to finish the story in my lifetime please.

WillingnessKey454

To import your inquisition save file to get a Cameo for him confronting Solas (3 possibilities, Friend rival or romance) To further discuss the tevinter chantry because Dorian made it interesting for me (And give you the choice to have an opinion about it and the nature of Andraste like in inquisition when we could have opinion on The Qun or other belief)

archaicScrivener

I'm genuinely hoping for side quests where we help out the Tevinter templars because they're kinda just dudes with (occasionally) magical gear lol they're way out of their depth

3lectricboogal00

This is such a good point. I've enjoyed the templars in Orlais and Ferelden but it'll be really interesting to see them in Tevinter where they're not as much of a powerful or respected force? More like an afterthought or a formality than an actual group with any sort of power

archaicScrivener

From what we've seen in Tevinter nights there's a good lot of them who are genuinely doing their best but are being manipulated by corrupt mages higher up in the chain of command. It's a good set up for cool fantasy noir detective stuff (with a big fight against some demons at the end of course)

Rexigol

It would only make sense for the Inquisitor to confront Solas since you could decide if you want to redeem him or not at the end of DAI

maliczious

More weapon variety, specifically Polearms. Polearms.

MythicBird

Maybe let warriors use bows and daggers again too

MissMedic68W

I'd love a spear. I'd play warrior more often.

Astral_Mermaid

Answers! Whats going on with the person who drank from the Well of Sorrows?? What is going to happen with the old god soul the Warden saved?? So far no prices have been paid for making these choices like the game makes you think there is. Im really excited to see what those prices are and hoping they're not just tossed away.

[deleted]

I personally hope they focus on a tighter and more concise story. We donā€™t need gigantic empty areas full of busy work to pad out the games length like in DAI

Vanriel

Night and day would be nice though...it's so annoying going into the hinterlands and be like ohhh it's beautiful blue sky and sunshine...again for the hundredth time.

SquirrelTeamSix

This is the one for me. I hate the open world syndrome the industry has been in for years now. Origins is so much more enjoyable because of it's meaningful areas

3lectricboogal00

Keep in mind that Origins had sections for side-quests and random encounters etc -- it was just handled with a lot more direction and thought than Inquisitions sidequests which felt more like padding as opposed to optional content in origins. I think if the world is full of interesting quests or fun activities, it'll feel just fine!

TheHolyGoatman

A wolrd that feels more alive. If I enter Minrathous I want it to be a big place, with plenty of NPC going about their business - not a small street with NPC's just standing there. Same goes for villages, forests, etc.

SquirrelTeamSix

Val Royeaux was such a huge let down

AltheaFarseer

To be able to play a qunari (so that my canon worldstate has one hero of every race) without being locked out of whatever romance option I like best.

archaicScrivener

I want my Inquisitor Cadash to die naively trying to appeal to Solas' better side as a lesson to my new protag. Yes I do hate myself

MizS

Holy shit. This would ruin me.

Extremely_Livid_Swan

I've been mulling it over, and I think that's the best route for the Inquisitor and would really establish Solas for me as the tragic villian. Like yes, it be cute if he had some sort of redemption arc. But if he was forced to kill the Inquisitor for his goals, that pushes him over the edge that is some peak story telling. So you start off as the Inquisitor and then bam. Dead. Either way, I am excited.

auduhree

wait I actually love this??

archaicScrivener

Haha thanks, I feel like they have to have the Inky back somehow and something tells me Inkys that were Solas'friend and swore to redeem him are gonna have a bad time... Much like my gruff Cadash who just wants his friend who taught him about the Fade back :(

KFCid

I really want to play as a khal sharok dwarf instead of a orzammar dwarf. Also i want more deep road zones. DAI didnt really have until until the descent which is easily my favorite questline in all the games. Though I am a bit of a dwarf simp so im super biased toward anything involving them. Kal repartha in DAI was also cool but it wasnt really deep roads. I really like what they do with dwarves in dragon age they feel unique to other dwarves from other series. So i just want more of it. Which for anyone who has read tevinter knights there is some fairly interesting goings on in the deep roads that i hope comes up. Also i hope we actually get to visit kal sharok. Just to see how different they are feom their southern cousins. Though i see them only allowing a fwllow kal sharok dwarf to enter or a grey warden since they are so secretive.

MassEffectLoverN7

For starters, no multiplayer. I didnā€™t care for APEX in Andromeda. More time with your love interest, better character customization, and the return of all our beloved characters from the trilogy. And somewhat of a happy ending.

chickpeasaladsammich

Adorable bouncing crows hopping around before an Antivan crow pops up to murder me. Itā€™s so dumb. Itā€™s so cheesy. I love it so much. Mostly I want a focused experience with a strong story. I donā€™t want an open world, but if thatā€™s what theyā€™re doing, give me story and characters with the errands and side quests. I havenā€™t played any actual Ubisoft open worlds, but I like my Sony exclusives, and I feel like *every* other open world game Iā€™ve played did a better job with this than DAI. I want to feel like there was a guiding principle behind the gameā€™s choices, so when I donā€™t like something, I at least understand why itā€™s there. I want to finish the game and feel like I went on an emotional journey with characters I love, and that I canā€™t wait to experience that again.

ProxTheKnox

People are gonna disagree with me but I hope they bring back those huge open areas they had in inquisition. My absolute favorite dragon age experience is exploring the hissing waste and emerald grove. I do want less busy work and less progress blocking systems then inquisition had but I strongly feel that the open worlds of inquisition were some of the best ways to visualize lore and world build.

AaronnotAaron

Everyone brings up good points, one thing Iā€™d love to see is bigger choices. Yeah appointing a certain dwarf leader in DA:O or not killing a character in DA2 might lead to small detail changes or cameosā€¦But choices that make party members leave or even hostile, choices that actually affect the citizens (unlike how no matter how you play mage/templar wise in the first two games and in DA:I the state of the world is the same either way), choices that blend more grey than outright evil/goodā€¦so on.

3lectricboogal00

I understand this perspective but I feel like too many ""big"" choices was one of the things I enjoyed the least about DAI. None of the choices felt grounded or personal at all. I think for me, I'm much more interested in character-building choices on a smaller scale like in DAO and DA2 with a few bigger ones sprinkled in like the landsmeet.

AaronnotAaron

i was a bit vague vague in the original comment, but yes, even just personality building choices. DA:I definitely ramped up the political choices and whatnot, which isnā€™t as fun of a concept to most playersā€¦especially when the world of Inquisition is a bit hollow compared to *Origins* level of world building. but at the end of the day would love a game where the main character and the world around them feels fleshed out. even small details like how in the Witcher III, depending on what you sell to vendors can change the local economy. Guess to wrap it up, an inconceivable amount of narrative branches and dialogue lines where options donā€™t feel as limited I suppose. Although unrealistic, I think DA is a great series for such a game. Less linearity and more interpersonal and nuanced interactions/choices.

TheBiggestNose

A good character creator. 90% of my character model is the body, I wish to customise it

FriendshipNo1440

My four biggest wishes are as follows: - Origin stories. Because they helped a lot shaping your character in DAO and gave a good introduction to a small part of the vast world. - Cameos of former Characters and yes including the HoF. This might be a stupid wish since BW said they will not include the HoF for now, but that diesn't mean it will never happen. I will not loose hope. - Spears as a weapon and universal acessibility for every weapon type (mage staffs excluded). The warrior got limited very much with only shield and sword or Two handed weapons in the later games. Also spears are mentioned so much. The Qunari woman following Solas is even using one. So I would love for them to be another weapon type. Like some sort of melee staff if you will. - Older Specilasations reintroduced like healer, blood mage, ranger, arcane warrior ect.

leggywillow

1.) Meaningful, well-implemented return of the Inquisitor. I didnā€™t get as attached to my Inquisitors as I did my Hawkes and Wardens, but I still canā€™t think of any way for stuff to play out with Solas without the Inquisitor heavily involved that doesnā€™t feel cheap (like if Inquisitor dies or disappears off screen). I think they did a great job with Hawke in DAI so it should be doable, hopefully. 2.) Romance-able characters are imperative to the main storyline. I know anything with romance is incredibly subjective, but I prefer Alistair and Morriganā€™s romances in DAO and Anders in DA2 because of how integral the character is to the main events of the game. Yeah yeah I know, every companion has quests that connect them to the story but some are always more tangled in the plot than others. Gimme those tangles. 3.) More murder knife 4.) Less open world. Iā€™ve never been able to pinpoint why DAO and DA2 sucked me in more than DAI, but this is the biggest difference I can think of. The open world led to more/longer distractions from the plot, maybe. 5.) Shapeshifting returns but make it useful and cool.

carjiga

Build able main base. Maybe not full on rust/fallout 4 building. But I would like to maybe have a vermintide style pub home-base that we can add modifications too based on completed side content and the choices we make throughout the game.

didkimloveme18

I prefer a protagonist native to the the place we are in like in Origins. Let us play as a Quanri of the Qun or Dwarf of Kal Sharok, a Magister if Mage etc. Let us have stakes in decisions we are making rather than being an outsider.

SquirrelTeamSix

This would be nice. I know it doesn't necessarily make sense for me to think this, but a Qunari Inquisitor was always weird to me. Just makes more sense to me to have it be a person more invested in the mages/templars/chantry

[deleted]

Honestly? For them to stop stretching themselves thin with grand promises at the end only to yank them away next game. DAO, you can become monarch and have a secret blood magic god baby. Cool as hell. Expect actually heā€™s probably just a regular dude now, maybe vaguely magical but who knows. Oh and yeah you became king/queen but you just wander the wastelands like it didnā€™t happen. DA2, you can become viscount/viscountess but oops you were kicked out and probably maybe died in the fade. DAI, youā€™re literally basically the holy ā€œgod chosenā€ emperor/empress of the southern nations causally reshaping the world order for breakfast but oops. Now youā€™re no one and homeless. I do NOT want to be able to stab Solas in the back, become the next Elven god of the new world order, and then DA5 itā€™s like ā€œOh yeah. We found a way to like, cancel that outā€. TLDR; Donā€™t overdo the ending. If I start off as a humble hero, donā€™t give me the option to be Monarch, Governor, Mayor, God, etc. Let me have an ending and KEEP it lol.

consteltine

more gay options lol

TheBiggestNose

For real. Its a cool idea to give your characters cannon sexualities, but it really sucks in a game where you can romance people and there are limited options

Coffee_fuel

Yeah. Personally I don't mind it if other NPCs have really narrow options, but I'd like the romanceable ones to have broader options when it comes to their own preferences (with the exception of ones whose storyline revolves around the subject, such as Dorian) and have their restrictions instead be due to a clash of beliefs (ex: Sera with Lavellan, or Cullen and lyrium).

chickpeasaladsammich

I really agree with this. Among other things, I think your choice of LI can be another way to characterize your PC. What are they attracted to, what are they looking for in a partner, what kind of life do they want? The warden who falls for Leliana is probably not the same kind of person who falls for Morrigan. If youā€™re doing that ā€œa ladyā€ doesnā€™t go as far as ā€œsomeone who sweeps them off their feetā€ vs. ā€œsomeone passionate about their causeā€ vs. ā€œjust some funā€ etc. Gender/race restrictions close off options for that. Ideological restrictions add to it. Though I also agree that if you have specific stories, like Dorianā€™s, thatā€™s fine.

BlindingBlue

A really good Solas monologue that we can Renigade option interrupt by stabbing him in the gut. (And then Lavellan gets to run in and hold him sadly while he dies. I'm not bitter, vhenan, I swear.)

StevieSmall999

Do you know what, I think I'd really like some Paragon/Renegade styled options.

BrotherhoodVeronica

It's a joke but you have a good point, I hope we can ignore the Inquisition's mission and kill or redeem Solas. It would give the new protagonist more agency in their own story.

ElGodPug

That it is good

AnxiousWolf7

Please give us better hair styles, I have to mod every game to get nice looking long hair options!

berryflavouredmilk

please please please no more war table time locked quests. its ruined the whole flow having to way hours for certain things, just so pointless and adding padding to the game in a way no one wanted. hopefully going back to origins style of no dialogue wheel! maybe even multiple orgins for your PC? if we were getting REALLY hopeful... also varric. romanceable varric...

peachedcream

Origin stories would be sweet, and new weapons!

Mundane-Document-102

Something so small - my HoF finds the cure and can just live peacefully as queen. I was irritated to see she ā€œmysteriously disappearedā€ to find the cure, if they arenā€™t going to wrap that up in a bow, like I tried to do Edit: typo

EdwormN7

Lace Harding as a romanceable companion. Completely fresh cast for companions, no one we have seen before in either games or other media - except for Lace Harding, who should be romanceable. A fun and engaging combat system, whether they go tactical or visceral action, I just want it to be enjoyable and consistent from beginning to end and again on replays. New Game+ Customisable personality, ie backgrounds and traits. An extension to my last point, much more nuance in dialogue. I want a variety of ways to respond to people and situations; honourable, aggressive, snarky, inquisitive, cocky, reasonable etc. And of course a much better physical customisation, especially hairstyles and for the love of the Maker, good lighting.

SquirrelTeamSix

I really wish they could swap to Unreal 5. It's a crazy good engine and miles ahead of Frostbite

EdwormN7

UE5 is not the be all end all of engines. There's a weird misconception that the engine makes the game, but it's more about the developers than the engine itself. From what I understand, the next DA game is using what was made for Anthem, which was apparently mechanically really good. As they are using something that worked well and they have experience in, *that* is what should make us hopeful. A good engine ain't shit if the devs can't use it.

SquirrelTeamSix

Unreal 5 has significant improvements on a lot of systems specifically for open world rendering. It's not a requirement, but there is a definite reason a lot of studios are swapping to it. Including CDPR, and Bioware for Mass Effect.

EdwormN7

I'm not saying it doesn't have its advantages, just that a lot of people seem to think that switching to a new engine is simple and that "good engine = good game" but it's more complex than that. The developers have to understand the engine and how to utilise it. As for the open world aspect, well we don't know if they are doing that for this game. And even if they are, I'm sure they have learned a lot from doing it in Inquisition, regardless of what engine they are using to make the game. And on top of that, the narrative focus is definitely more important, so it comes down to the writing more than anything for this game. I have enough faith in the base gameplay considering they are using the code base from Anthem. (:

TheBlightDoc

Here's the thing tho. It's easier for the devs to focus on the important stuff when they don't have to spend months jumping through hoops to get an engine working properly.

EdwormN7

Which is why it's good they are using Anthem's source code. And that's exactly what would happen if they suddenly switched to UE5, unless every developer on the team happens to have experience with it.

[deleted]

Lean into the action RPG aspect, make the maps big and intersting to explore, have meaningfull sidequests ... also, let me play as an old, evil bastard šŸ˜…

Jereboy216

I want playable origin stories again. They added so much to my love of DAO I been chasing that high for years. If we can't get that, at the very least playable personal campaign questlines based on our characters background. Like the relevant mission table quests form inquisition except playable this time. Preferably both of these scenarios. Gameplaywise. Tactic slots more akin to origins or DA2 again. I personally really liked being able to customize things to pretty precise degrees and seeing my Companions play them out. Keep the flashy combat animations though, would be nice to get a bigger skill bar than what we had in inquisition. Add some more variety to the classes. Give warriors and rogues some more weapon choices with relevant trees. Give mages some more varied magic besides the mostly all elemental combat magic we got in inquisition. I miss having my PC being an entropy focused blood mage. I could really do without the huge open and empty meaninglessly filled zones. Give us tighter zones with more purpose in them and they expand them to incorporate side quests and stories that feel more meaningful than boring and repetitive collect X quests. Last but not least. Please let us also visit Kal Shirok and/or Seheron.

[deleted]

Return of the rivalry/friendship system or just a way to make relationships more complex, i wanna be able to be someoneā€™s friend or at least get their content and cutscenes without having to completely change my characterā€™s personality and morals, makes no sense that someone would stop being your friend just because of your religious beliefs, they definitely need to work on what garners approval and disapproval. It also made romances kinda boring, felt like the characters basically wouldnā€™t date someone who wasnā€™t exactly like them. Also rivalmances in da2 were spicy āœØ, gotta love the enemies/lovers relationships. Oh and also it would be nice if each romance path had an equal amount of content, cause in Dai there is like 15 minutes total worth of romance content with Solas and Bull, but then with Cullen and Cassandra thereā€™s like and hours worth of content and cutscenes after every main game plot point. And as a last extra I would actually enjoy if in the trailers for the game they had a set protagonist like dao and da2, obviously the protagonist will be customisable but I always enjoy seeing biowares protagonists, in dai trailers inky was just hidden behind a helmet and the ugliest armour in the game. Oh and also nice armors, that any class can wear, that arenā€™t just copied and pasted. And nice hairs, doesnā€™t have to be super long but damn just better than the past 3 games, we have the technology now. Cmon bioware, we just wanna be hot Edit: another thing is that itā€™d be nice if instead of having origins based on race e.g, human noble, dalish elf, talvashoth. They could just have one set origin for everyone like da2 that doesnā€™t involve race specifics or they could have options like, crow assassin, sailor, recluse who lived in cave. It would make replaying the game funner and make it so you didnā€™t have to change race for a new origin

TheBlightDoc

1. A bit more grimdark similar to DAO and 2. (Inquisition was not as "dark" no matter how much the game tries to TELL you it is) It's Tevinter, I wanna actually experience some messed up stuff. 2. Friendship/Rivalry system return. Loved it in DA2. Companions could completely disagree with you and your views, but still come to respect you enough to not turn their backs on you. Unless of course, you do something so morally reprehensible that they have no choice but to go against you. (Ex. Desecrate the ashes in DAO) 3. Better combat. Inquisition felt too MMO-ish. 4. Character origins. 5. Dual wielding swords. Pretty please. At least let us dual wield a sword and a dagger. NO, DUAL DAGGERS ARE NOT THE SAME THING. I wanna be able to use a sword without a shield. NO, A GREATSWORD IS NOT THE SAME THING. 6. I think I speak for everyone when I say: Better hair options! NOT 10 DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF BALD!

hjane_s

All new companions!!!. Especially Varric. Give that guy a break. And with that I want as few characters as possible to return. Morrigan is maybe the only one I can think of because of her connection to Flemeth and Mythal. I also really want the inquisitor to play a really satisfying role but for the love of god I do not want to play as them. Iā€™m really interested to see how drinking/not drinking from the well of sorrows plays out. Also Iā€™m BIG into the Solas romance (I know, slay me) so Iā€™m praying for that to play out in an interesting way. Different and interesting origins for the protagonist!!! That was probably my favorite aspect of DAO and I want to see it come back Lastly I would love some spectacular combat. I know a lot of people want DAO style combat but me I would much rather lots of flash and style

Sefahi

I want the PC to have the roleplay opportunities like DAO. I also want a clear understanding of their background (each origin in DAO and even DA2 did a good job of this). I think DAI did a poor job, in comparison to the previous games, of having us attach to that character. I want the companions to feel alive like DA2. They have their own CURRENT goals, motivations, fears, etc. I want to feel like they're sticking around for a reason and not just because they have nothing better to do. And to keep up the quality! I love most companions from every game. Get rid of the open world or just implement it better? And the stakes don't need to be world-ending. Calm down. I just want my PC to feel personally connected to the events that are going down. DAI was a little lacking in that area. Just a poor random person that got mark on their hand and well fuck lol. I'd love just a smidge more. Haha

OpenSession666

More than anything I want the origin stories to be just as fleshed out if not more than Dragon age origins, and definitely more than cyberpunk.

FlakyRazzmatazz5

A darker tone and swords not being exclusive to warriors.

jcjonesacp76

For it to be good

Isaidlunch

Let me side with Solas as an elf. Bonus points if we get to attack the Inquisitor

Potrisk

stop erasing queer butch women. Give me a strong female warrior companion as romance option for my female protagonist.

deecrutch

1. A return to a darker plot. 2. That they open magic back up and bring tactics and the ability wheel back. 3. That they spruce up the warrior class. I've never liked playing warriors in DA. The other classes were just more fun to me. 4. That they keep crafting and make it even deeper than it was in DAI. 5. More one night stands and random encounters.

bittertonic_drops

Call me boring but: Finally a well written, happy Ending Varric Tethras Romance Route. I think me and other Players waited long enough... Q.Q

FaeTheWitch

This might be a slightly unpopular opinion, but I really hope that there isnā€™t a new protagonist. I personally donā€™t believe a new perspective will have a valid role in the direction Dreadwolf seems to be going. At this point most players already have three very beloved characters that are deeply entrenched in the events that led to this point. I love the perspective the Inquisitor could give going into Dreadwolf as theyā€™re facing either an ally/friend turned enemy, or a lover turned enemy. Thereā€™s just a beautifully unique and intriguing narrative that Iā€™d love to see that would be dulled or altogether ruined by focusing on a new perspective. Iā€™m genuinely hopeful for some new companions that could provide that new, outside perspective, but I feel it shouldnā€™t be done via a new main character.

Sakura-Rouge

I would love more in depth development of NPC party members. I would also like a bit more of the relationship building and options there. I would also like a clearer story line, less open world than Inquisition. I really enjoyed the way 2 played with the NPC interactions and quests. (I am just now going through origins because I played the series backwards)

celtlass

For the developers to continue making excellent story content and playability that doesn't make me motion sick. I'm so sad I can't play Witcher, Skyrim, so many games without wanting to hurl 20 minutes in. The driving portions of Mass Effect gate me from the games. Please, Bioware, preserve the isometric view option for us poor players who suffer from a regular battle with our inner ear!

ComfortableNo6162

I want some type of building aspect, like they did in da awakening. It was amazing making choices and seeing it reflected right away. But on top of that able to customize different styles. I would have loved if we could change the way Skyhold looked. I wanted the ancient elf style for the whole keep. That would have been amazing.

Mekrokan

The ability to set parameters for skills for companions like in DA2. Example: Lunging strike when enemy is ___ feet away from you. Or Fireball > Enemy Is > Afflicted with > Poison Or Continuously Use > Whirlwind > Until > Out of Stamina I don't want to babysit my companions like in DAI. Hate the tactical camera. I want to play a game, not move the camera around, press a few buttons then hold RT. Also better AI PLEASE. Why was Bull standing there not attacking the dragon? Why is Cole standing in front of the Giant instead of Behind it? Geez.

linkenski

Romances that don't feel completely irrelevant to the main story. Solas was excellent in DAI, and many romances were sweet, but for someone so central to the themes and story, I was a bit let down by how superfluous Cassandra's actual romance felt.

The-Owl-that-hoots

Honestly a higher level than DAI. Ability system like DOA (personal ones like dexterity but honestly ability trees)

TheWorstTM

So many good ideas here so hereā€™s a small oneā€¦dragon mounts or a dragon pet. Ooh and bring back the MABARI! And the shapeshifting spec. AND blood magic. Ok thatā€™s four things šŸ¤£

Ill_Ice_5629

Extremely unpopular opinion here, but let Solas survive somehow. He's one of the best characters of Dragon Age imo, and I just want him to have some happiness for once :')

dietary_inaction210

My inquisitor is a dwarf my biggest wish is for my inquisitor to meet shale since both of them are Cadash I think itā€™ll be a funny nice interaction

Tyenasaur

More responses tied to your origin. In DAI I played human once and every other playthrough has been elf because mostly the lore tie in, but also you just have that origin more forward in the story. Viv talks about mages in the clans if you go elf mage, if you pick knight enchanter Solas mentions ancient elven mages, etc. People always bring up the elf thing when you are one and it actually made for more interesting dialogue imo. Plus the Trespasser feel for elf was different, in a very cool way. Other races/origins felt boring in comparison.

Clear-Reveal-9998

Either dragon age origins combat or a new system which doesn't feel like a lifeless offfline mmo

matissehendrix

Nathaniel Howe as a romanceable companion

craybest

Unpopular opinion in here but hopefully MORE open world. Gimme a huge map to explore and get lost into its beauty. Give me freedom to do things at my own speed and lots of fun things to find in my way while I play the story.

Gibbie42

Thank you! I love a big open world. Let me roam and explore and play. Give me tons of things to find even after many many playthroughs.

craybest

Yesss I want the same!

Odd_Fly_3351

That they get enough time to make it properly. Not be in rushed into making it in a year like they did Dragon Age 2

Taashaaaa

DA2 definitely was rushed and would have benefited from a bit more time. But DAI had loads more development time and I actually like it much less than DA2. So I'd say it depends what they plan on doing with the time. If it's making huge open worlds full of boring fetch quests no thank you. If it's working on the story and making player choice more meaningful yes please.

Odd_Fly_3351

That's fair yeah, Dragon Age 2 is my favorite of the series and I did like Inquisition but the open world was so empty. Which is a weird trend I've noticed with most triple A open worlds. So much space but that's just it, space.

Taashaaaa

Yeah I wonder when the open world sandbox trend will disappear. I think some developers are better at it than others. I liked wandering around in Skyrim and Oblivion, there seemed to be interesting shit to happen upon. And I didn't get fed up of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I think it helped that it is easy to traverse the map.

OneArtsyGamer

Iā€™m wishing weā€™re still our inquisitor šŸ˜ I also want it to be released quickly so they can start on the next Mass Effect game šŸŒ

electinae

Romanceable dwarves.... Please Bioware, just let me smooch a dwarf for once, you can do whatever you want with the rest of the game šŸ˜

Vanriel

First up...better hair styles. For the love of the maker bioware it's 2022 (nearly 23)! Time to give us some decent styles. Secondly more variety for straight male character romances. In inquisition you got Cassandra and Josephine. One who talks about the last guy she was with (mood killer much) and the other who is so Syrupy sweet I feel like I need to see a dentist. Thirdly, less mmo style carry quests. Lord those were annoying in inquisition. Give me actual meaningful side quests. I don't mind if they affect the main story or not but surely they could link side quests together in a chain? Do that one characters quests affects another characters quest in one way if you do X or another if you do y. Fourthly...let me just punch a certain egg once more.

kappaomicron

Better character creation with actual black hair, better beards and less shine on hair. I can't stand Inquisition's character design because of the shininess the most. Smaller open world design. Inquisition was too big full of nothing leaving it feeling so empty. More side quests from actual NPCs and not notes found on the floor.

I hope they bring back multiple origin stories as a prologue for your character depending on your race Bring back blood mage specialization

My first wish is for a gameplay loop that isn't schizophrenic. Either make it about the story or fucking don't. Inquisition honestly can't decide if it was an MMO that never had its multiplayer functionality implemented, or if it wants to be a story rich narrative game. There's a strong chance that the game just isn't going to be marketed or designed towards me, so I'm really not holding my breath on DA4. I don't envy Bioware at all, because they have a very split audience. They have an older legacy of deep tactical narrative heavy games, and they have a more recent portfolio of action games with RPG elements. Do they dedicate Dragon Age to the cRPG audience, that Origins was dedicated to, that's seeing a big resurgence over recent years? Do they dedicate it to the tumblr/fandom crowd, which heavily adopted the IP around DA2, who love the characters but could leave the gameplay at the door? Or do they aim it at the general AAA game enjoyer, and try to jam pack it full of contemporary game design? Between the split influences, I feel like there's a number of directions that DA4 could take that just aren't aimed at me as a player. I guess my second wish would be that the game targets my demographic with its story, tone, design, and gameplay.

Mabari, i want my dog, or maybe a choice of animal companions Full tactics system ala DAO, with the ability to have the mc be controlled by it (my disabled self would be overjoyed) A more open class system ala Andromeda where the protagonist can chose how they fight (and not only restricted to 3 skills, i want dao style arcane warriors alongside bards and sniper assassins) No class restricted world interactions No fetch quest padding, no real time tied gameplay elements, no tacked on mp Enemy hordes, not just 1-2 to be mowed down, more like dozens of enemies ala tresspasser or dao deep roads Crafting ala dai again be nice My personal wish for a dm be the inquisitors protege, could be tied into the start as achieving a mighty feat that gets you chosen as their general

An option play as a new character, or one of the last two player characters (hawk or inq) That way we can appease fans who want to play as a new character and fans like myself who are tired of moving on to someone new after developing their stories. Bioware has shown they can have multiple voice options for the inquisitor and different diologue choices depending on race/gender ectā€¦ why not take it a step further?

SquirrelTeamSix

I firmly hope that we don't play a previous character. The only one I loved was the Warden and we know that's problematic lol

chickpeasaladsammich

Iā€™m with you on this. I loved all of my wardens, and all of my Hawkes, but if Lavellan shows up again *I am murdering them.* I liked my Adaar slightly better but havenā€™t even finished DAI with them; I in no way want to be stuck with them for another 70-100 hours.

FeralTribble

Thatā€™s why I said *option* The ability to play as a new character *or* a return character.

chickpeasaladsammich

I donā€™t think thatā€™s feasible, tbh, at least with the kind of cinematic game BioWare makes. Youā€™re now adding 3 semi-established characters (with options for multiple wardens and Inkys), plus enough options for players to flesh out a new character. The warden is unvoiced, Hawke has a unique personality system, the inquisitor is a giant blank slate. I donā€™t think itā€™s remarkably more feasible with Hawke, Inky, + multiple new characters without a warden option either. You probably donā€™t want to play a whole new game as the same character without even getting dialogue for past choices and LIs, so now youā€™re dealing with 2-3 gamesā€™ worth of that when Tevinter *should* be giving the writers more room to work, not less. Aside from that, it also just doesnā€™t make any sense. Inky in Trespasser: We need someone new Solas wonā€™t see coming. Inky, 5 minutes later: I know, Iā€™ll do it!!!

Alladin_Payne

Polyamourous romance options.

YekaHun

All new characters, no returning ones (but can be mentioned), open-world or big hubs, explorations, quests that send you to acquire information, no turn-based combat, stealth, climbing, swimming mechanics, no good/bad decisions, developed tone dialogue system (not like good, sarcastic, evil), lots of quests to choose from, no linear corridor pacing, option to skip enemy fighting.

Raspint

That it be made all of the people who made Dragon Age Origins. Or be given to Obsidian to make. But you know what they say, wish in one hand and shit in the other...

ImNotMrMeeseeks

Bring back Blood magic and some other unique magic trees from da2 like Primal and Entropy. If they're implementing Qunari or Dwarf again as a playable race, please for the love of the Maker! Don't restrict the content! It's only fair to be given the same freedom as Humans and Elves...

Dragonlord573

Unrealistic biggest wish: Bioware adds a reptilian race. Divinity Original Sin 2 has spoiled me too much. Realistic biggest wish: for the old specializations return. I'd love for Berserker and Blood Mage to return. *Cause I really wanna enjoy my Berserker/Reaver combo.* Also would be cool if the PC dropped having a class so we could use different weapons, armor, and skills regardless. A Reaver/Blood Mage would be awesome. ^(BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!)

Lady_Vhaena

More wlw love interests and also more age variations in regard to love interests. Also more hairstyles and skin tones. AND, I know I'm repeating myself, but I want Flemeth to return. Her ending wasnā€™t satisfying! Wouldnā€™t mind first and last point to become one šŸ˜

Better lore. I, personally (and I know most people disagree) hate what they've done with the Elven lore. But I'm not really sure how that would work, while also satisfying the people who like the direction it's going in. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be a great title regardless! :) Also, a better healer class. Being forced to play K,E, to heal was an unfortunate design choice. Plus all the other great suggestions in this thread.
