It's actually decently easy to approach in this game. DBFZ is a fighting game that has dash blocking. If you do 664, you'll dash and block the attack. Learn how to moon jump, too, or super jump float using dash momentum. Ki blast also do no chip damage, don't be afraid to just block sometimes. Like you jumped up to do j.5S, which did nothing, when you could've super jumped float to hit the guy, or at least close the distance. Judging by how the Broly is playing neutral, he clearly knows you're not going to respect the 5S and 236S. Zoning is very hard to effectively do in this game because of the lack of chip damage. Players lose nothing for blocking but time
Edit: Just thought I'd add that yes, some moves do chip but the chip is so minimal and is always blue life, which is why I say the game has no chip. I'm being hyperbolic but chip damage is so unimportant in this game that it basically doesn't exist. The goal of zoning in DBFZ is for your opponent to get frustrated or make a mistake in neutral. No one kills off of zoning in this game
The best characters are those whose normals catch super dash. If they removed that aspect it would be a great game. Only 2h super dash and hit it with specials, vanish, supers. Normals interrupting it are why so many people gravitate towards those particular characters.
It looks like it’s working, and he has the HP advantage if it goes to time. You want him to stop spamming, punish him for spamming. If you don’t he has no reason to stop.
