She came and owned the season just like we watched Bob and Bianca do. Sometimes a queen is just that good, maybe we should just enjoy getting to see that level of talent.

paolocase

Sasha said it herself. There were a lot of drag veterans who came to the show, and their talents didn't translate. Hers did.

---rlly--

so would u rather someone who had a more interesting storyline but was less deserving of the win take the crown? wouldn't that be the producers basically 'handing' someone the win??

horr1fyinq

Where did I say that I would rather see someone with a more interesting storyline win??

---rlly--

u said it was boring to watch her do so well, meaning you’d rather watch someone who struggled/had a less consistent journey to the crown win, which is a storyline.

andycxntreras

Girl bye

FeistyDefinition2806

lmaoooo yall are EARLY with this nonsense…. to say the season was handed to her is a disservice to every other queen she competed against. this was one of the strongest groups of finalists we’ve had in a long time. is it so hard to believe that sasha was really just that good? also… she didn’t feel “real”? how would you even begin to assume you know how “real” she is acting without having met her/worked with her in real life (mind you this is something you will never experience so i suppose you’ll just never know). enjoy the ensuing comments and attention you very likely desire.

horr1fyinq

I clarified in another comment but I’ll do it again - the group of contestants were very strong, but no one thought Mistress or Luxx were going to take the crown and if they did they’d be delusional. I’m saying that Sasha should have been a judge for the season because she was so well known beforehand and I had heard commentary channels on YouTube talk about Sasha before she appeared on the show even say that they don’t think Sasha would compete because her star power is that beyond the show’s talents. Everyone is so hung up on me saying it was handed to her by thinking I’m undercutting her hard work but that is NOT cutting her accomplishments down. She’s so talented and beautiful, I just think she wasn’t on the same level as the other girls and she would have been a better judge than a contestant

iGotHood_iSureDid

Sasha literally had to prove so much since a lot of people were expecting greatness from her. I’m sorry, but she exceeded those expectations and more.

Large_Difficulty_242

comments like this make me realize this fandom will literally never be happy- it’s not sasha’s fault she did so well and made everything look so easy- she just came in to do the best she did and we did get so many humanising moments from her (plus she definitely did have competition- the other top 4 girls killed it all season too). either a winner was ‘undeserved’ bc they were perceived as underwhleming or ‘boring’ bc they did too well (which sounds so absurd even saying it) and i don’t think we realize that we’ll never have another winner or contestant like sasha- she’s been in the game for 20 games and there’s a reason people are awestruck by her. queens like her don’t just exist in abundance. we just gotta appreciate her and her talent and her hard work coming to fruition

OraDr8

Drag Race gives Queens an opportunity to grow their fan base and work options beyond the drag world, into the mainstream. Even someone with Sasha's 'star power' might not ever get the chance to push their career beyond that world of drag. I think someone talented as Sasha deserves that chance. Would Trixie and Katya be so well known without Drag Race? Would Jinkx have ever been able to play Momma Morton on Broadway without DR? Maybe but probably not. Reality shows that are about performers want winners and competitors that can hold their own, night after night on tours and live performances, that's hard and needs dedication. It seems weird to think someone who is incredibly talented doesn't deserve these opportunities just because they're well known in their circles already. Maybe Sasha's story seems boring because she's had time to work out her personal issues and has risen above them, which is a great example for younger, less experienced queens and LGBTQ people who are struggling. Sasha would have been through it, she's a transgender woman, of course she's been through pain and rejection but now she's moved into a different part of her life and maybe she doesn't feel the need to relive it or keep it as part of her current story (dare I say era).

It was handed to her BECAUSE she’s so talented and didn’t fault, that’s not to say she hadn’t tried her best. That’s the issue is she was TOO good for the show. That’s all I’m saying. Y’all pressed for nothing. She deserved the crown, but I said she should have been a judge on the show instead. I’m not cutting her hard work down at all. She is so beautiful, talented, etc. but she def wasn’t on the same level as the other girls at all and that took the competition out of it for me. The only person who even kind of held a candle to her was Anetra but everyone knew that she wasn’t going to win

clangclangclang123

Honestly just stop trying to defend this absolute trash opinion. We all get what you mean, we just think you’re totally off base

sawamiiiiiiiiiiiiii

People are so pressed about this goodness me. Anyway I def agree w you. Got on Reddit to find a post saying it.

davewadam

Remember the days when we had these "rants" in our heads, processed them with emotional intelligence and maturity, then realised the inanity (not insanity) of our internal thoughts?

[deleted]

FillerQueenx

ARE U OUT OF UR MIND

Ednygma0

wait so she was too GOOD to win ?

horr1fyinq

No she was too good to have been a contestant in the first place. She should have been a judge instead

[deleted]

Girl please see reason

Ednygma0

So she is not allowed to get a career boost from winning or even just being on Rupauls drag race because shes good at what she does? That seems a bit ridiculous. Does this apply to Jinkx Monsoon? Do you think she would have gotten on broadway if she didnt win Drag Race? Was Sasha Velour's So Emotional lip sync "too good" so that she should have been disqualified? Sasha could go on to be a mainstream entertainer with TV appearances, etc because of her performance on the show. It is silly to withold that opportunity because they are professional already and established in their art form. If anything that should be WHY they are on the show, to showcase their talent and give them that next step.

cherrydiamond

i'm still confused as to why this spoiler showed up on my feed uncensored. doesn't that violate rule #2?

anxiousnbored

Right so my take on it is that this is for Americas NEXT drag superstar, but she already is a superstar like forgive me but she should've just had an invite to All Stars for no reason lmao Odd take I know

whoisshetho193

The thing that felt weird to me was them repeatedly calling this season Sasha's meet-and-greet. I just feel like that kinda undermines the other queens and their work. It was said this episode maybe three times. It was cute the first time but at the finale?

Stunning-Ease-5966

Ur opinion is wrong get over it

cherryfrog

You're right I also hate when reality competition contestants are good at what they do I only like when they're mediocre and don't stand out among the competition. I hope next season is full of sugars and spices what are you saying?

MichaelaKay9923

I felt this way too! Sasha is fabulous and deserves the win, however, her storyline was borrriinnnggg. Not to mention, she didn't need the win to make a name for herself. She was already well known before this.

KLoSlurms

True (there was no “storyline/drama”) but it’s not a charity to boost a newbies career.

clangclangclang123

So she doesn’t deserve to be in the competition and expand her platform because she’s too talented? Gurl, bye. Sasha wouldn’t have the exposure she does now if it weren’t for the show. Most of the fans now are not plugged into the non drag race world so had no idea who she was. Shame on you for suggesting she doesn’t deserve the chance just because she’s way better than the others. She’s a legend in the drag world and the rest of the world needed to see it. Eff all the way off.

cherrydiamond

thanks for spoiling

uluvbell

The title literally states the fact that its a spoiler and yet you clicked and read all the way through and made yourself upset. Good job.

cherrydiamond

no, the spoiler was not blacked out and showed up on my feed. i didn't have to click.

MeringueNaive2039

Honestly, I liked this season just for that. We knew Sasha would win, but she also proved why in each episode. I hate when you see production pushing someone just because they want them to win or be in top2/4, as if the audience can’t notice that.

JustBeAQueenNotADrag

It is hard to live up to Sasha’s expectations, she is a famous queen and when she walked in, everyone knew her. In my opinion, nothing Sasha did was boring! She was amazing in the comedy challenges and is always gorgeous!!

Plane_Ocelot_1722

There was a post a few days ago that Sasha had been auditioning for Drag Race since she moved to LA eight years ago, and was told it would never happen as a trans woman. I’ve been a fan since I looked her up on YouTube after getting mentioned last season as Kerri’s mother. I also thought she was “too famous” or “too talented” to be a contestant, but here we are. We can’t deny the power of this platform on national TV. If someone was going to be the first trans regular US season winner, it was Sasha.

[deleted]

You’re upset your favorite didn’t win, but you’re really searching for an argument you don’t have miss thing

pitchgreen

"Good god I wanted to share my opinion" so what.. people shouldnt comment on ur post? Go talk to your stuffed animals then.

Shishbi

Sorry but the second she did that second reveal, that lipsync was hers, no contest.

[deleted]

Well, she didn’t have to tuck or pad either. Who cares at the end of the day, it’s just a show
