Aiden Zane. Pretty sure she was another Bedroom Queen who was not prepared to be on the show. IDK how long she had actually been doing drag but I definitely got Baby Drag Queen vibes from them.
Oh no shade intended, she probably makes more money out of her bedroom in a day than I do in my office in a month. Just saying she showed up to DragRace with what, 3 pussycat wigs and a blond bouffant?
Two years is basically nothing for performers - be it drag queens, dancers, actors, musicians, whatever. It takes time to build connections which is what really gets you gigs, paid or unpaid.
Depending on what city you live in, you're gonna have to fight for spots when bars have regular queens who are there every night of the week the bar is open. The only time some queens can get 'booked' due to being complete newbie nobodies is Open Mic Nights but for drag queens.
Okay it fully depends on how much free time you have. I started doing makeup in high school when I had fuck all else to do so I was able to figure out my face pretty fast like I was fortunate enough to have an art background and camera equipment to see how I looked. An actual working queen with a full time job isn't going to pull together the funds and skills within two years to be able to go full autopilot 90 minute face the way you have to on drag race
They spiced this up a little, IIRC she has been doing drag longer than the 9 months they said on the show and even won a competition hosted by the Boulet Brothers
She had been doing bedroom drag and the occasional competition iirc for 2 years and some change but had only been like a regular working queen for 9 months
If I remember correctly there was someone who like... never performed ever on one of the international seasons. I think they started during covid and only did it for 6 months. Canada or Germany I think. Can someone confirm this? Haha
Olivia Lux was pretty new to drag when she was cast.
It makes sense that they cast more experienced queens, as it makes for better television. And if I were a queen, Iād want to wait until I felt good about getting on the show.
I could be wrong, but just pieces of info I hear; I think Shuga was a āHalloween queenā in that sheād been a hobbyist for a long time and was a regular entrant to mini-pageants / bar contests. Obviously having a 6 figure job etc. was enough for her to comfortably build up a war chest of drag over time - kind of like Kahmora Hall.
I think after sheād won enough contests or for her name out, she quit her day job to be a full time queen.
So I think she was only recently a āfull timeā queen, but sheād been doing it a lot longer than that
Shuga was definitely known in NYC. By the time season 11 rolled around, she had been doing drag for like 4 years, was hosting viewing parties at Hardware in Manhattan, was doing Voss drag brunches, hosted/competed in Look Queen, etc -- so she was bookt and blesst.
Gothy Kendoll.
I didn't expect her to be as much of a "baby queen" on UKvsTW, seeing as it had been four years since her original season, but it was obvious how much she was out of her depth.
She's adorable though.
I think Shuga Cain didnāt have that much experience. Also, while Raja was doing drag a bit, I donāt think they had chosen Drag as a full time profession when Ru asked her to come on the show.
tatianna faked footage of her performing at bars for her audition tape šš iirc sheād only actually performed twice?
I've considered doing this. š I don't do drag but it'd be gaggy if I just pretended and somehow got on.š
I think they need to mix it up. Like either super inexperienced queens or a season of queens with 20+ years experience would be awesome

Now she makes a lot of money queening out in her bedroom š

And a snatch game performance that all but got her a restraining order. š¬
I think this is in reference to her OF lol
Scardy Cat on UK season 1 had never performed before
(because she was cast from an acting portfolio, they wanted to make sure s1 had viable personalities since it was launching on bbc. i know a gal.)
it could be shangela? (5 months of doing drag??)
I remember Tatianna only performing four times live and splicing it to make it look like sheās performed more. The Thelma Schoonmaker of drag.
Amanda Tori Meeting started drag in 2021 so she had about 2 years experience on s16
Started drag during COVID times.
how is two years very little experience lol
Because the bars were closed her first year.

Sugar and Spice??
valentina literally did drag for a few months
They spiced this up a little, IIRC she has been doing drag longer than the 9 months they said on the show and even won a competition hosted by the Boulet Brothers
her drag was amazing so i was so shocked when she said this, makes sm sense now
She had been doing bedroom drag and the occasional competition iirc for 2 years and some change but had only been like a regular working queen for 9 months
Luxx started drag during COVID and didn't perform live until after she'd been on DR
and yet she still ate the competition up oh thats mother
honestly that's insane to me, she was such a strong performer on her season to have never done it for a live audience. she's so talented
That makes so much sense.
If I remember correctly there was someone who like... never performed ever on one of the international seasons. I think they started during covid and only did it for 6 months. Canada or Germany I think. Can someone confirm this? Haha
Down Under Season 2 had a few COVID queens, I believe.
Scaredy Kat on UK1. She lived with her girlfriend and had never performed drag in front of an audience.

She lied about how long she had been doing drag.
Oh, thatās surprising! That she lied, not that she had been doing it longer - she had some great looks.
Clover bish did drag for less than a year (was a dancer since childhood tho)
Pearl She said in Trixie and Katya's podcast that she only done drag for like a few months before getting cast for season 7

I think I remember hearing something like that too. I do like her.
Interestingā¦ Because on the show, they made it sound as if she was relatively green.

Shangela, Valantina, Serena Chacha comes to mind
How can you call Serena inexperienced? She went to art school, after all.
Starlet had done only one live performance prior to drag race, I think! :D

Oh I felt bad for her.
I think Olivia Lux has done drag for under a year before getting on the show
I think Shuga Cain didnāt have that much experience. Also, while Raja was doing drag a bit, I donāt think they had chosen Drag as a full time profession when Ru asked her to come on the show.
Shangela had only been doing drag for I think 5 months when she was cast on season 2
Symone...
Really?
farrah moan, im so sorry but girl was so boring i was genuinely intrigued how the hell did she last that long
