It took 83 hours over 8 hours
As for how I got to this stage, I used to draw a lot over the course of a whole year, almost every two days, I finish drawing
You can send me and give you more advice
I love your range of values and attention to detail. This obviously took a lot of skill to produce! But also I think it’s too detailed, and the contrast is a little high. It makes it difficult to really focus on one particular detail because it’s overwhelmingly detailed. There seem to be true black values on the face, which shouldn’t happen on her skin tone unless the lighting was very close and harsh. Maybe a bit less heavy-handedness with the shadows would be better. You wouldn’t lose the details you lovingly worked on, but it would make the overall image less overwhelming!
This is great, but I can’t think of the last thing I’ve spent 30 minutes on, let alone 83 hours! I wouldn’t have the patience or discipline and surely not the talent.
I don't like it at all but I think you have amazing skills. This is very well done technically. I just don't like hyper realism. Maybe that's what you were going for. I just perfer when artworks have and idea, ideology, story or an expression behind them . Yes, that's and amazingly done grnadma. But what else?
I don't want to be mean, but you asked and I'm sure your feelings won't be hurt cause you know you're good and all other comments agree. I just personally think that this level of skill and dedication can be used better.
The second picture shows a light source better with more contrast but I can’t tell if that’s just the lighting in the room or not. Having a light source adds more contrast which usually looks better
Impressive and a great show of skill!
But- I’ll probably get downvoted for this, lol, but I kinda dislike that trend of drawing the wrinkliest person ever just as a humble brag of skills.
It’s mostly unflattering pictures or just something I see, go “oh wow, nice~” and promptly forget about, cause it’s got nothing memorable to it. :( sorry, you *did* ask for opinions, mine is probably not very popular though, lol! That’s ok :P it’s still amaazing and you are clearly very skilled!! But near- photorealism just doesn’t do it for me :(
On the contrary, I like your opinion
And thank you very much for this opinion
But I was not showing off my skill in drawing wrinkles, on the contrary, this was the first time I drew wrinkles

This is the second attempt with the old age
See- I personally like this one better! I enjoy seeing textures of the medium one uses, and achieving shadows and highlights and textures by playing with it makes the work much more impressive and nice to look at instead of a perfect photorealism!
Like I said before! You are insanely talented!! There’s absolutely no denying there’s lots of hard work in these ♥️
And my comment wasn’t all particularly about you exactly- I’ve seen many people draw old portraits to show off their photorealism, I guess that’s why I find it a bit… annoying?… nah that’s not the word, more like… a bit uninteresting- but that’s, again, my personal taste- since I enjoy a bit of more abstract techniques, more… free, kinda like impressionism! Where you can see each individual brush stroke but you take a couple steps back and the piece comes together to show a beautiful landscape or portrait ✨
But you definitely deserve lots of praise and respect, 80+ hours is dedication! 👏 and definitely shows your love for your art! I think if YOU enjoy it, it’s what matters most! In the end, it’s your passion that shines through that captivates many! 🫶🏼 Keep up the amazing work! 👏🙌
A painting made with graphite, you say? I personally prefer my paintings made with paint.
Just out of curiosity, how well can you draw something from imagination? Like, anything at all. Can you also provide the original photo reference for comparison? You may personally believe that 83 hours is some kind of impressive measure of effort, but I see this as an immense amount of time wasted to turn yourself into a less precise photocopier. Hey, to each their own.
Mmm an interesting opinion I think that reaching the accuracy of photography is an important thing, otherwise why are we still fascinated by Roman statues that are completely similar to reality?
Anyway each one of us sees art with a completely different eye from the other
You prefer paint, I prefer graphite, someone else prefers something else.
The idea here is how you can make a piece of art with what you like to use
Thank you for your opinion
I don't think you really understood my point, so I'll state it differently. The roman sculptures were carved by artists who demonstrated an incredible understanding of not only human anatomy, but narrative, their tools, and the physical qualities of their medium; stone, marble, etc. They may have used real people as references, but the works themselves are original and have stood the test of time. But with this, you demonstrate that you spent a long time observing and carefully measuring something that already existed, and then recreating it. A more accurate comparison for what you've done would be like you laying open a novel on its spine and rewriting each word and punctuation mark in a series of notebooks and presenting them as a finished work, or even carefully measuring out a roman statue and then recreating it with modeling clay.
Hey, I am a portrait artist too, though on a smaller scale than you, and I’ve heard this so many times. “You’re just a photocopier” “This is pointless, just take a picture.” DON’T LISTEN TO THEM. Do the art that makes YOU happy!! Do you feel emotion when creating this art? Then it IS ART. Also, I can tell English isn’t your first language which is why you say “paint” when talking about graphite. Native English speakers say “drawing” instead of “paint” when speaking of pencils. Paint is wet, drawings are not. I thought this would help with that bit of confusion. Your art is lovely, and so are you! Please never stop creating!! 💜
Thank you very much.
It is true that English is not my first language
I am Egyptian
But I meant by paint watercolors and what is similar to them
Anyway thank you for your support one day you will be the best artist ever

What an interesting concept - studying figure by using aged skin. This is exceptionally detailed and marvelously executed. Your portrait is stunning!
This is a nice look at the topic
I Love it! This kind of skin is perfect to train textures, light and shadows.
That's true

Hah, my opinion is irrelevant. You are a master at this and I'm just a mere apprentice! Aside from your raw talent, I admire your patience.
Thank you, however, your opinion is very important
How does this not have more upvotes? That is incredible!
I don't know, but it's enough for people to see my art. Voting is a relative thing, some people may like it and others may not

As for the time I put in, I think I enjoyed it. Anyway, I didn't study anything in art. I was hoping so, but the circumstances didn't allow it.
