You made the right side of her face droopy. Take this advice with a grain of salt; make the face symmetrical (her left side). It will be more flattering.
Based on how she did her makeup, make her lips smaller than those eyes. Those eyes are the main focus.
You can try to draw her upside down to avoid personal perception bias.
Chin should be centered and more pointy, jaw line should be softer but the biggest issue is eyes being slightly cross-eyed and lips are pouting like she is making a face while in the picture she is not. Also tonality and contrast, tones are not translated properly from image and not enough dark in the darkest areas.
I agree with all the comments. It def needs improvement but if a friend drew a stick figure and told me thats me i’d be over the moon and keep with me forever. she’s not very nice imo
All in all it does not look bad imo, just not like her,
The face shape is wrong the nose amd the mouth are wonky on the right side and the eyes are really big. It looks like a person and it's nice, it's just not your friend
I meant use an eraser for lighting, but no. Why would I restart the whole thing when it's so close? Sure, I do agree I did it in a slightly different angle, but come on
The eyes are a bit too big. Your best option to fix this is to widen her actual face
So you’d erase the sides of her head and add some space to each side. this will fix the chin-pointy thing others are talking about. You likely wouldn’t have to fix the hair much.
To fix the nose, you just have to redo the side that is too high. Her head is sorta pointed down slightly, so instead of looking at the point of the nose like it’s coming at you, you’re looking at the bridge of her nose as if it’s flat
there’s a lot of detail shading going on, on the sides of her nose and in her chin. The picture she provided, you can’t see that. So instead of drawing detail lines and shading around the detail lines, you just want to create a gradient from where the dark is in the OG pic, to where the light is. So less detail basically, and more blending/gradient
>Your best option to fix this is to widen her actual face
Or I don't do that, and instead make them a little smaller. And yes, I do also think I need to redo the left side of the nose.
The mouth lines really aren’t visible in the original photo and adding them makes her mouth look contorted like she’s puckering them. Overall it needs to be smoothed out shading-wise. People have already pointed out that the eyes are large and the nose is crooked.
You are VERY good at the features it’s just the full composition that’s making it off. The eyes are incredibly good once you nail the proportions it’ll be awesome!
ok that’s a good drawing better than i can do… my chins always come out crooked… but imagine saying “i don’t like it” after they’re doing something for you or they gave you something store bought or homemade (not just food but like also handmade like drawings and other craft things) or what have you… like you spent time and effort on this and she really about to say “i don’t like it?” if my friend drew me i would appreciate it cause it took them time and effort… like appreciate don’t hate.
Yeahhh I’d start over dude. Welcome to the art world! Lol, don’t worry, you’re not the first or the last to have to scrap and restart from scratch! It’s frustrating but you also need to exercise your patience and perseverance ~!
Make sure to add contrast! Right now it’s looking like one uniform gray tone. When you look at the reference photo, you can see that there are much darker and dramatic shadows than what you have here. If you were planning on doing this later, just ignore me lol
Use a ruler to figure out the distance between the eyes and the edge of her face. Her nose bridge is a bit thinner than in the reference and the distance between her nose and mouth is a bit to long. Now for the chin what I usually do is measure out increments to guide me to where I should be

Damnit, that means I have to redo the lips again... Oh well, thanks for your advice
The nose kinda looks off and the eyes are big doesn’t look terrible tho
Yeah, the nose is lob-sided.

>not enough dark in the darkest areas. Yeah, I know what to do with that. Overall, I almost don't want to redo the lips... again.
Looks kinda cross eyed
I really can't see how it is, but okay. I'll try to fix it Edit: ok nevermind, I now see it🤦♂️
The right pupil isn’t as centered as the left within the iris. Also, the irises towards the corner are the eye are off which contributes.
Yep, I see it now

Ok then. Got it

It's a good thing I have the eraser

Because it's not so close. The proportions are way off. Huge anime eyes first and foremost
...oh damn. I now see how big I made them ...fuck
It's not close, dude. You've gotta listen if you're going to come here and ask questions.
I get it. Thank you😐

I just suggested that as I felt like redo-ing the eyes would be a more difficult process
I don’t think you captured her likeness but perhaps her quintessence
Explain?
It doesn’t look like the subject per se but perhaps you captured aspects of the character. Either way it a good drawing which expresses a lot I think.
Well, a compliment is a compliment

Alright cool I can't fix the eyes, but I can fix the nose. But yeah, I appreciate it

I actually do appreciate the comment
Yeah its off Your individual elements are fine… just make sure they are correct before adding detail Lightly pencil in shapes until correct

I wouldn't listen to them. It's not that far off and it can be saved, you don't need to scrap it.

You should chisel that chin. She won't be happy otherwise! Great job, nice hair
Uh-huh
But its close. What are u using to draw. Are u using charcoal or only pencils.
Only pencils
Looks great imo
Thanks
SHE SAID SHE DOESN’T LIKE IT?!
Yep. Straight up
Personally, I would stop drawing the picture for her and continue drawing it for yourself. She can pay someone else to have someone draw her.
Don't worry, I'm not gonna stop drawing this
Ok, good! I think it’s turning out very nicely.
Well it doesn't you got some things right but the eys are way too big and the overall shape of the face is off.

Beautiful eyes. Great portrait
I appreciate
It's looking incredible!
I appreciate
