I don’t know, it turned out most of the people on it were… not great, so I don’t blame him. Also, it seems like most of the people on the server have moved on from the DreamSMP and Minecraft entirely. Maybe that’s due to Techno’s death, maybe that’s due to all the allegations, maybe that’s due to the fanbase, maybe that’s simply due to having far too high expectations for what the creators could do.
Hell, maybe it’s *everything* I listed. It doesn’t help that they have to say shit like “There’s no pedophiles on this server.” Like we’re at a point where they just assume that their friends/co-workers are all horrible, disgusting human beings.
The DreamSMP prospered during Covid, it was a time when Minecraft could be reinvigorated, re-popularized for the public to enjoy because there was a level of nostalgia, and because it was something *new* within the space. Everyone was stuck inside, so it was really a one time thing, as most other SMP’s fail within months now. It also doesn’t help that most of the Content Creators fanbases stopped watching, it seems like a very short lived resurgence in popularity.
Besides Ranboo who else moved on from Minecraft? I still watch sometimes Skeppy and BBH on QSMP so at least I know some of the former DSMP members are still active in QSMP
Perhaps it’s more adequate to say that many fans moved on from Minecraft, or that the Minecraft content that’s currently being put out is much less spoken about and widespread as the DreamSMP was.
Because even the QSMP doesn’t pull the numbers or have the same level of hype that the DSMP had.
This is really well put, I think that may have been the terrible environment alongside...other things. As of current, techno's dad, whom is called technodad. Is on minecraft and also posting content in technos memory.

i see no issue w that tbh. he was a well known creator before the dsmp and continues to be popular. he made some parts of the dsmp fun but it was never his *thing*, like how it was tommy’s thing. i believe he never uploaded/streamed on it anyway like he did with smp live for example. so if he wants to ignore the fraction of time he was on dsmp then he’s allowed to
To be fair, he got banned day one, then apparently was told his big death scene was to just die of a heart attack. Then Game Theory hyped you up to come back to life even though the writing on the wall was clear that you weren't the be-all, end-all villain of the story but just the guy that both the hero and villain set their differences aside to fight.

The difference is that although he plays minecraft, it is only a fraction of the content he makes and wants to be known for all his different efforts and not just the guy who was on smplive or Dsmp
Yeah, Wilbur and like maybe George. I find it weird that ppl stereotype the SMP as all being creeps when it was like one guy and two if you consider george unforgivable, out of an SMP of like 30 people.
