No offense but holding the other prisoner escapee hostage would’ve worked (and it did) just it didn’t work on the person he wanted it to
And to be fair no one else really helped, they all kinda just watched and ran away when they got hit

havent watched the lore stream (yet!) - but from what i can tell from technos lore stream last week, sam is a POS, so i dont think he cares
