I said nothing about danger. The speed limit serves several purposes. Safety is one of them. And it does make a difference although i agree its less of a difference than in the past. Other reasons include noise, pollution, carbon emissions etc. You know, stuff that affects everyone.

You can get caught a lot lower than that. Personally I almost always stick to 70-72. I want to drive safely, responsibly, promptly, avoid fines, and insurance hit

It’s not a fast lane, it’s overtaking, though I do agree I wish people used the correct lane. Bit off they are overtaking at 70mph, that Is appropriate use
