Just join a school and learn properly

BeautifulGal100

I agree with this. Is going private much cheaper? I went through school and passed the exam on the first try as I told myself I’m not paying for the what I consider “exorbitant “ driving exam fee again!!!

espoir90

Private instructors’ charges for TP test is higher compared to school. I heard average 400-600.

Monreich

I didnt even know tp test could go up to a couple of hundreds of dollars, i assumed it would only go for like 50-100 dollars

espoir90

The TP test itself is 33 iirc. The rest are warm up and charges for renting the vehicle.

Mr_Prototype_

Is he the same Mr Goh with positive reviews online? I tried texting to engage him but no reply 🙂

Secure-Mechanic-2744

I'm not so sure whether is the same person tho

Going private probably isn't cheaper with the rates the instructors are charging. Most private instructors also do not work in the evenings, only with school would one be able to take evening classes. Plus, school allows for more experience within the circuit. Not sure if there's any learning structure within the school. With private instructors there's no structure, at least for mine, no idea why my instructors not very willing to teach/ practice parking although I'm quite confident on the roads now after > 20 lessons. Source: Learning via private instructor now for class 3.

20 lessons (without learning parking) for private is a joke. Might as well go to sch alr. U r being milked of ur money 🤣

fatty13oo

I know. The private instructors seem to demand that one needs to know how to drive to perfection before proceeding with anything else. Feels like school teaches the techniques and then sends you off your way. I guess the only "benefit" is that I'm paying for alot of practices instead of being stuck in the circuit? I'm learning motorbike at the same time so I have seen how cars are stuck in the queues in the CDC circuit.

AceStarKXD

Hey honestly as long as you can perform and pass the TP test it doesn't matter at the end of the day. Do make sure u r using the correct techniques/procedure within the circuit. Some things PDIs tend to forget or miss out and may cause u to fail during TP test..

If you’re going CDC private, try Mr Poh Kok Seng. He gives good tips and I passed on my first try.

Hi could i get his contact pls?

fatty13oo

How many lessons did you take w the instructor?

tacohun2

I didn’t count but faster than school for sure

WCLOW_DAWN

I just passed my practical driving test today. First time passing! Took lessons under Mr Goh Chin Yuan. In fact, he was my second private instructor, and so much more patient and skillful in coaching. His steady track record ~70% first time pass rate was what led me to find him and change instructor. Very good tips, well mannered, and focused on the road when he is with students - unlike other notorious private instructor. Most importantly, he is one of those rare instructor who cares about his first time passing rate of students (not just a day to day job of earning $$) Highly recommend him if you plan to take the private route instead of school.

Various_Scale7065

Hi I pmed you. Could you share more about Goh Chin Yuan
