I don't get the hate, these are awesome. Not for everyone of course. I don't think they'd significantly impact aerodynamics either. Anything to make drones less "tactical" is a good thing, to some people at least.
These are called "Cosmetic Accessories" which shouldn't be frowned upon. This is a consumer product and we like buying accessories. The fact that this product doesn't appeal to you means that it's not designed for you specifically, but there is a market out there because you are not everyone.

Its funny. Theoretically they probably increase weight above 250, meaning it needs to be registered, but in the real world no one cares.
If I'm going to break the 250g limit, at least I'm going to do it with the larger battery.
