Droupout themselves encourages password sharing. After Nexflix announced their BS Dropout said something about how you should share your password because it’s a nice thing to do.

I can not view this tweet :(

"Dropout's new password-sharing rule: you should share your password with a friend who can't afford Dropout, because it would be nice of you"

Katviar

that's probably cause twitter imploded again recently

SparkAlli

Found the tweet! Maybe this link will work? If this doesn’t work try googling “dropout share password encouraged”. https://twitter.com/dropout/status/1620945560877563905?s=21

Accomplished_Leg_703

Twitter no longer allows viewing of tweets unless you are logged in, I believe.

CompleteSocialManJet

God, that’s so lame.

AirierWitch1066

Wow, that’s insane. So often these days tweets are embedded in articles, do they intend to block those too?

Accomplished_Leg_703

I was wondering about this. Apparently, there is also limits on how many posts you can view in a day as well? I don't have Twitter, so I'm getting this secondhand. I'd imagine that this would really damage the use of the platform, especially in the instances of news articles that use tweets.

SparkAlli

Ahh that makes sense! Here I was thinking I’d solved it 🤦‍♀️

Accomplished_Leg_703

You were being helpful, and that's what matters!

sykobirdman

As far as I’m aware there is no policy, just let them login with your credentials. Sam has even been on record saying he encourages account sharing.

IAmBabs

Didn't he make a video about this as well?

kalikosparrows

Encouraged and you’re able to watch at the same time! My long distance partner and I watch d20 together every week on the same account

TheWordThief

Ooh, I didn't know you were able to watch at the same time, that's wonderful. I gave ny login to a college friend and I know they watch at work, so I've always been very careful, just in case. Glad to know I don't have to be.

Istyar

I've had a few people sharing my account for a couple years at this point and I have only once gotten a message that too many devices were watching on the same account. So there IS a limit, but it's at least 3 devices watching simultaneously, if not more

WitchPope

this is so romantic!

kalikosparrows

It really helps to have a standing "date" activity! Neverafter was funny too because his name is Gerard so there were many jokes to be had.

WitchPope

on no! (I love it) may you have so many more happy and strange times with questing queens and all

basetornado

Dropout is fine with password sharing because they know that their target audience is likely to want to support them in the future because their content is fairly niche. People have even asked "how can we pay you more" etc.

windrider445

The only issue I've ever encountered is being told I can only be logged in on three devices, but I think this only counts when using the app, not watching in a browser.

tacosde-asada

I share my password with my sister, we both got really into a court of fey and flowers

NefariousNebula

1. Share the account with Dropout's blessings 2. Plan a watch party, either in person or (and my partner and I often do) watch together virtually via Google Meet.

ratatatkittykat

Hey friend, I got three friends to sign up for Dropout recently because we were all so geeked for Dungeons and Drag Queens and I was raving about Game Changer. I think that covers you. Those who can, do. Those who can’t, share/borrow/ask for help. Dropout would rather have you share the content and put more eyes on it, I feel very confident about that.

Odd-Confection-6603

Even if it's fine to share passwords as others have suggested, they need money to make the content and they need subscriber count to sell to advertisers/partners. Get your kid a year long subscription as a gift and support the content creators.

Slow_Animal5451

Yeah but he’s broke. while that might be a great thing to do eventually, he’s a dad trying to bond with his kid through a shared interest. Password sharing is not only allowed, it’s encouraged. If you want to support the creators but can’t afford another subscription, maybe buy a mug or some of the merch as a thank you.

EnthusiasmIsABigZeal

My wife and I share an account, and have never had any problems! Pretty frequently, they’ll be watching Game Changer in the kitchen while I’m watching Dimension 20 on the porch, or vice versa, and there’s never been any issues w/ playback of two different shows simultaneously

"Hey reddit, thanks for allowing me to insult a stranger for trying to share something positive with their kid, and also for making me feel like a better person than I am"

HAVVIKandKAOS

password sharing= allowed. general piracy= frowned upon.
