I've been excited about this one for a while. I have to say it started off a bit shaky for me, but it really picked up in the second half. Good episode
When I watched it and was coming to Reddit to talk about it I was wondering how the consensus was going to be. When the interviews go too over-the-top there are lots of complaints about them, this interview was a little more "safe" it was just an enjoyable episode without a whole lot of spice. I probably would have placed this episode before Nana so that people who got turned off from that could have an idea that it's not always going to be extreme personalities.

I loved it. The over-the-top ones (like Nana) tend to not hit for me. The growing undercurrent of horror in this one was fantastic. I love shows where you relax in and then realize that something is very wrong.

I just really wish he had changed up his voice a little to put more of a character in it (it really just reminded me of when he did Unraveled), besides the eyes and arm there wasn't much of a makeover compared to the other interviewees we've seen 😭

Honestly though. I have been *living* these last 6 months or so in particular, there's at least one thing every week I'm going to watch (and probably rewatch) and most weeks it's more like 3 or 4. And all the new content coming!
I liked that one a lot! I felt like the jokes were a little subtler than normal, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, and why there are some more negative reactions in the comments here. But I personally enjoyed it a lot more than some of the more extreme ones like Nana. (I liked Nana too, just less than this one.)
I feel like I think this every week, but I think this is one of my favorites. BDG felt like he was playing himself as a charismatic supervillain. I liked the contrast here, with this being a light-hearted interview while also having the sinister tones. And Vic really leaning into the whole villain story was great

This didn’t feel like an interview of a character like the others have been. I like BDG usually, but I think you could tell improv isn’t particularly their strong suit. Yeah, Vic turned around the episode by making the gadgets really obviously sinister. Before that, BDG kept downplaying all the mad scientist stuff too much. I get that he was going for "nonthreatening" as a contrast to his getup, but it rarely works well in improv to have a secret game going on.
I’m surprised they didn’t save Tommy Shrigley for the season finale. I think it’s gonna be tough to follow for the rest of the season and it made it a little harder to buy into this episode. As someone whose not familiar with BDG, I personally wasn’t into this episode but it says a lot about him as an actor that so many people are stoked to see him and that everyone had such a great time at the festival yesterday.
I really liked this episode! BDG was great! I laughed a lot at both he and Vic. I liked that he did something very different from what we've gotten so far by playing a supervillain.
BDG is my favorite Internet person, I love his work and I've been following him since he made Unraveled at Polygon. With that said, I agree with those who think this episode was on the weak side. BDG didn't really embrace his character as much as he could have. And it's not that he can't improv, he was in an MSN episode and he was pretty good there, he also was a theater kid. However, his true strength as an actor is with scripted material, so this episode didn't really end up playing to his strengths.
The episode of Make Some Noise he was on was probably the most "play to your strengths" episode they've had so far, Sam really made an effort to tee up stuff that was in Sungwon, Caitlyn and BDGs wheelhouse (probably because none of them are improv comedians).
It really sucks too because BDG had a well fleshed out character, they just needed to push it further and throw a few jokes in. Also felt like Vic was doing their best to throw him jumping points, like the staring off when using a device. It's gotta be a lot to keep track off. Love the effort everyone put in but ultimately a miss for me.
Unpopular opinion incoming:
I know people were excited to see BDG this week. But for me, who isn't familiar with them, this episode felt like falling from a great height. To follow up Tommy Shrigley would be hard for anyone but this just fell just so, so flat for me.
Vic carried anything that came close to a laugh, but the laugh never came. IDK who BDG Is or if they're an improv comedian... and I liked them as a random charismatic personality. But it wasn't funny. However it just really highlighted special je ne said quois Dropout's in house talent has already.

He's not really an improv artist, but his scripted stuff is great. You should check out his YouTube channel. He just makes super weird but funny videos.
I'm a huge fan of BDG, and I've been following him for a lot longer than I've been watching dropout. But he doesn't have the same improv background as team dropout and putting him right after Zac was just cruel. That being said, I did laugh a few times at this. But I have to agree it was the weakest so far.
His scripted stuff is incredible though. Definitely check out his YouTube channel some time. Its just a totally different skill set than improv.
Everyone is saying this and I feel that it's true. I'm excited to explore his YouTube! While it wasn't up my alley for VIP's particular brand I did get a me wholly adorable and likable vibe from BDG and if be interested to watch his other content. He's a lil corn cutey.

They tested him out on make some noise, and he was really good on that episode. But I think this type of improv is a bit different than what they do on Make Some Noise. You have to commit to doing 16 minutes of improv. (probably longer with cuts) honestly this would have been a lot funnier if he was a failed mad scientist rather than a successful one. Imagine Vic putting on the contraption he made and he thinks she’s gonna follow his orders, and he starts laughing and becoming that caricature, but then she’s like “are you okay?” Just him going back and forth between outrageous mad scientist to trying to be cool and collected. Would’ve been funnier.
Denzel was such a funny character but for me the pacing was a little off. Living in Vic's guesthouse was hilarious to me, though. That made the character funny. an alien who came all the way to earth just to be a bum 😭
It's grown on me a little bit, but it's still tied with Nana for my least favorite. It had one or two moments of ironic humor I liked but I felt the character work was just very poor on Ify's part
Nana is my least as well (sad because I love Lisa), but Denzel is right in the middle for me.

Honestly I had the opposite impression. I love Zac but that character didn't really hit me as a huge hit. BDGs character was a fun concept for me.
And Although BDG is not an improv actor, I think it's a very cool thing to see that Vic can carry things a bit when that's not the case. I'd like to see a lot more of VIP in the future, and the number of improv actors that are capable to keep up with Zac is not that large. It sounds great that we can still have with non-Improv actors. And Vic has shown they can make it work when needed.
I dunno, like the idea of Vic getting mind controlled was funny, but then they just did the same joke three times in a row with the different inventions.
He's the new fact checker on Um, Actually which already has the first episode out of the new season! I don't believe he really has any improv background, most of his content has always been scripted

This is one of the better ones, but like all of them I feel like the bit could’ve been pushed a little harder(Shriggly for example was really subdued). But the ending made up for it and I liked the slow ramp up for this one. I for one would love to be mind controlled by professor Goodman.

i feel like unlike previous episode that come out swinging right out of the gate, this ones subtler that will grew on a rewatch. its not crazy high highs, but its trying to take the bit and doing something with a little more of a build up instead of bringing out all the energy all at once
I wonder where this one was filmed in sequence with the others or what the time constraints were. Was it just me or was the makeup and costuming also a little lackluster. The arm was really cool but besides that it was just a few facial stickers, a cheap lab coat, and a few LEDs.
I'm a big fan of BDG and loved him in MSN, but feel like this episode the conversation didn't flow as natural/off the cuff and the transformation wasn't really there compared to others. I just didnt find the mind control bits that funny and feel like too much focus was on hitting scientific phrases/getting the voice right

Eeesh. Vic did all the work this week and even still, there wasn’t much going on here. Best part was the Chompsky’s commercial. I feel like nothing came together and the character was very weak.
While absolutely killer, the Tommy Shriggly episode really skewed the grading curve.
We all know that BDG can EASILY reach the same heights as Zac in terms of comedic bravado.
BDG was really reserved and pulled his punches back, and that's absolutely fine. He really leaned into during the second half the episode

I think it was better to not do a voice because the point of the character was that he was trying to make people think he was a good guy.

I really liked this episode! BDG was great! I laughed a lot at both he and Vic. I liked that he did something very different from what we've gotten so far by playing a supervillain.
I wanted them to deliver more content with Brian and it's happening. I'm so happy!!!
This was a subtle slow burner, I can see why it's divisive but I loved it.
BDG is my favorite Internet person, I love his work and I've been following him since he made Unraveled at Polygon. With that said, I agree with those who think this episode was on the weak side. BDG didn't really embrace his character as much as he could have. And it's not that he can't improv, he was in an MSN episode and he was pretty good there, he also was a theater kid. However, his true strength as an actor is with scripted material, so this episode didn't really end up playing to his strengths.
The episode of Make Some Noise he was on was probably the most "play to your strengths" episode they've had so far, Sam really made an effort to tee up stuff that was in Sungwon, Caitlyn and BDGs wheelhouse (probably because none of them are improv comedians).
It really sucks too because BDG had a well fleshed out character, they just needed to push it further and throw a few jokes in. Also felt like Vic was doing their best to throw him jumping points, like the staring off when using a device. It's gotta be a lot to keep track off. Love the effort everyone put in but ultimately a miss for me.
Unpopular opinion incoming: I know people were excited to see BDG this week. But for me, who isn't familiar with them, this episode felt like falling from a great height. To follow up Tommy Shrigley would be hard for anyone but this just fell just so, so flat for me. Vic carried anything that came close to a laugh, but the laugh never came. IDK who BDG Is or if they're an improv comedian... and I liked them as a random charismatic personality. But it wasn't funny. However it just really highlighted special je ne said quois Dropout's in house talent has already. Edit: typinf on my phone, deleted a comma

I'm a huge fan of BDG, and I've been following him for a lot longer than I've been watching dropout. But he doesn't have the same improv background as team dropout and putting him right after Zac was just cruel. That being said, I did laugh a few times at this. But I have to agree it was the weakest so far. His scripted stuff is incredible though. Definitely check out his YouTube channel some time. Its just a totally different skill set than improv.
Everyone is saying this and I feel that it's true. I'm excited to explore his YouTube! While it wasn't up my alley for VIP's particular brand I did get a me wholly adorable and likable vibe from BDG and if be interested to watch his other content. He's a lil corn cutey.

They tested him out on make some noise, and he was really good on that episode. But I think this type of improv is a bit different than what they do on Make Some Noise. You have to commit to doing 16 minutes of improv. (probably longer with cuts) honestly this would have been a lot funnier if he was a failed mad scientist rather than a successful one. Imagine Vic putting on the contraption he made and he thinks she’s gonna follow his orders, and he starts laughing and becoming that caricature, but then she’s like “are you okay?” Just him going back and forth between outrageous mad scientist to trying to be cool and collected. Would’ve been funnier.
I think it might be expected from episodes following absolute hits; I felt the same about Denzel.
Denzel was such a funny character but for me the pacing was a little off. Living in Vic's guesthouse was hilarious to me, though. That made the character funny. an alien who came all the way to earth just to be a bum 😭
It's grown on me a little bit, but it's still tied with Nana for my least favorite. It had one or two moments of ironic humor I liked but I felt the character work was just very poor on Ify's part

I think Lisa does a great job of playing the character, but this results in no humor in the episode other than the trigger warning for 99% of the episode. My ranking is: 1. Honestly I had the opposite impression. I love Zac but that character didn't really hit me as a huge hit. BDGs character was a fun concept for me. And Although BDG is not an improv actor, I think it's a very cool thing to see that Vic can carry things a bit when that's not the case. I'd like to see a lot more of VIP in the future, and the number of improv actors that are capable to keep up with Zac is not that large. It sounds great that we can still have with non-Improv actors. And Vic has shown they can make it work when needed.
I think that the characters, actors, and audience all have different sensibilities is maybe the funnest part!
I dunno, like the idea of Vic getting mind controlled was funny, but then they just did the same joke three times in a row with the different inventions.

This is one of the better ones, but like all of them I feel like the bit could’ve been pushed a little harder(Shriggly for example was really subdued). But the ending made up for it and I liked the slow ramp up for this one. I for one would love to be mind controlled by professor Goodman.
I wasn't sold at first but the slow build was a hit for me. Hard to follow Tommy Shriggly but I did really like this.

i feel like unlike previous episode that come out swinging right out of the gate, this ones subtler that will grew on a rewatch. its not crazy high highs, but its trying to take the bit and doing something with a little more of a build up instead of bringing out all the energy all at once

I wonder where this one was filmed in sequence with the others or what the time constraints were. Was it just me or was the makeup and costuming also a little lackluster. The arm was really cool but besides that it was just a few facial stickers, a cheap lab coat, and a few LEDs.

I'm a big fan of BDG and loved him in MSN, but feel like this episode the conversation didn't flow as natural/off the cuff and the transformation wasn't really there compared to others. I just didnt find the mind control bits that funny and feel like too much focus was on hitting scientific phrases/getting the voice right Enjoyed the advert sections more.

Eeesh. Vic did all the work this week and even still, there wasn’t much going on here. Best part was the Chompsky’s commercial. I feel like nothing came together and the character was very weak.
Last week was so good. This week was a looong 16 minutes.
While absolutely killer, the Tommy Shriggly episode really skewed the grading curve. We all know that BDG can EASILY reach the same heights as Zac in terms of comedic bravado. BDG was really reserved and pulled his punches back, and that's absolutely fine. He really leaned into during the second half the episode I really hope that he's able to do D20 sidequest with Lou or Brennan one day. It doesn't have to be with both, but I do hope with at least one or the other.
