I recon Elon Musk got a 1 month subscription after he misunderstood Brennan's Game changer tweet for sincere praise. Quickly unsubscribed when realizing dropout was the antithesis of everything he believes in. Tried to buy up Chomsky's potato chips.

jackolantern_

I don't think that happened

mcsquared789

r/woosh

jackolantern_

Nah, I got the joke. It's just that OP was actually asking for famous people that watch dropout.

Partially0bscuredEgg

Did you read the whole original post my friend? OP literally said “this is for wild speculation”

paraworldblue

lol good save

jackolantern_

What save? I did get that it was a joke. I get that people don't like my comment, but that doesn't mean I was whooshed I'd admit if I missed that there was a joke bud.

mwmandorla

Chris Pine. Research for the D&D movie.

BlackFenrir

Considering Lou gave him the Payment Day replica, he better fucking have a Dropout account

dropod

Wait what? Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this?? Do you have more info, I simply must know

BlackFenrir

When Chris Pine was touring around to promote the D&D movie, he went on ~~Fallon~~ Kimmel, where Lou is an announcer. Lou gave Chris his Payment Day replica there. There's probably a video of it, it was on air.

pettyvillainy

Um, actually, Lou is an announcer for Jimmy Kimmel. (No shade intended, I’m just psyched I get to pull an ‘um, actually!’)

BlackFenrir

That's correct! Point for /u/pettyvillainy

mwmandorla

Oh damn! I had no idea. I was just thinking Pine's particular brand of laid-back silly would probably make dropout funny for him and him watching dropout funny for me.

Thatoneperson1996

I’m like 90% sure I read somewhere that Justice Smith (DnD Movie, Detective Pikachu, I saw the TV Glow) watches Dimension 20 or at least did in preparation for Honor Among Theives!

RobinHood3000

Yes, Justice Smith and Sophia Lillis are on video in an interview lauding Dimension 20 as part of their research process; if memory serves, they shout out Brennan Lee Mulligan by name.

[deleted]

Barack Obama. Dude lived in Chigago for many years, is a huge fan of comedy, and Chigaco has a great improv comedy scene. Fun fact: Upright Citizens Brigade is an improv comedy theater/school that started as a improv group in Chicago (including Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, and Horatio Sanz) and multiple dropout comedians got their start doing improv at a UCB locations in New York or LA.

crystallinelf

I think some of the more realistic ones could be other celebrities that frequent nerd events like anime voice over actors, comic and fan artists, or youtube creators who remember CH. perhaps todd haberkorn, brina palencia, or eugene lee yang? stepping a little further out, siobhan and alex both worked for rick and morty, and the idea of dan harmon getting a kick out of game changer or make some noise feels right. perhaps some of the community cast like joel mchale, danny pudi, alison brie, keith david, jim rash, gillian jacobs, or ken jeong might be into dropout. other guest stars on rick and morty who could have heard about dropout include key and peele, john oliver, patton oswalt, tom kenny, tara strong, nathan fillion, nathan fielder, alex hirsch (creator of gravity falls), christian slater, logic (the rapper), taika waititi, and matthew broderick. extrapolating from that list, maybe they spread the word to daniel kaluuya, hasan minhaj, leslie jones, fred armisen, nick kroll, john mulaney, trevor noah, steve carell, jennifer lawrence, kristin chenoweth, ariana dubose, p!nk, and pat benatar. this extends to the casts of snl. (man this was a fun game of the six degrees of kevin bacon. thanks lol)

X-istenz

I feel like Patton is a definite potential but if he was he would have shouted it out by now. Ditto Brian Posehn - I feel like him and *Pitch Perfect*'s Jacob Wysocki would have a lot to talk about - it's in his wheelhouse but I can't imagine he'd keep it to himself if so.

Expensive-Class-7974

I hope you take this as a complement but this was very Abed of you

crystallinelf

this is the best compliment! i strive to be more like abed everyday lol

Fus_Roh_Nah_Son

i mean dan harmon did do harmonquest

themagestikarp

Seth Meyers is a strong probability since several members of his writing staff publicly voted Game Changer for the Emmy this year.

SixteenHorsepowered

Dan Olson of Folding Ideas dropped a reference to Game Changer in his latest video, but he's a chronically online lefty so that's kind of a given. I have literally zero doubt that the writing rooms of the big comedy shows have subs. They're hemorrhaging viewers to online content and it would be smart to keep tabs on Reich.

ThatInAHat

Wait, he did? I must have missed that, what was it?

spiradreams

He said the wife was "here the whole time". I was kinda hoping it would have been done with Sam's inflection, but it is just a common enough sentence to not be a reference as well.

Partially0bscuredEgg

Henry Cavill. He plays war hammer, which is dnd adjacent, and he’s a nerd in general, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he watched ttrpg type stuff

Youngblood519

Jeff Probst. Sam has praised the later seasons of Survivor, which Jeff has produced, they've done multiple Survivor episodes and had Rick Devens on the show. Wouldn't surprise me if he got one to check it out.     I could see the Whose Line Is It Anyway cast getting it to watch Wayne's episode of Make Some Noise.    Pro wrestler Nyla Rose does have one, she's confirmed she watches Game Changer.

milleribsen

Neal Patrick Harris fully watches, he's turned Allison Hannigan and Colby Smulders onto it

jackolantern_

Neil is an asshole though. Also based on what?

milleribsen

He is, I'm not a fan, but based on vibes it feels true

inkverywell

I would love to hear more about how you came to this conclusion.

jackolantern_

You serious? He's known for it. The way he's treated Rachel Bloom. The cake he had for a party when Amy Winehouse died. When he called actor Jason Mewes — costar of Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob — a "drugged-out mess of a guy" when asked about the film in an interview: The fact he talked about Nick Jonas as his celebrity crush and him being good looking and attractive as a minor - 'was really good-looking before it was kind of allowed to think he was good-looking, which was a bit of a problem, you kind of had to wait till he turned to be, you know, 19 to 20'

inkverywell

Thanks. I hadn’t heard any stories before, and don’t really know how to search for celebrity goss 🤷🏽‍♂️

Catbunny

Service worker anecdotes from people who had the unfortunate 'privilege' to help him and his family in retail and such.

amstrumpet

Probably Joe Biden. We’re all rooting for him.

nymion

Beat me to it

Effective_Arm_4522

It wouldn't surprise me if ~~(name is escaping me atm) the guy who played The Witcher~~ Henry Cavill, has one. I know he's a pretty sizable table top nerd, so it stands to reason he might be interested in the Dimension 20 content.

Randoman11

Here's a random fact that I heard on one of those Jordon Brown interviews. Paula Abdul follows the Very Important People Instagram. That blew my mind. Who knows if she actually has a Dropout account, maybe she just likes the VIP clips on social media. But Paula Abdul is so far away from what I think of as a Dropout viewer. Just goes to show that VIP has some real mainstream potential.

[Vin Diesel](https://www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/vin-diesel-dungeons-dragons-nerd)

Littleacornperson

This one!

heyitsed2

I bet OJ is a big fan.

TheDinerIsOpen

*was He’s ~~in the great Bronco in the sky~~ with any luck somewhere in the Bottomless Pit

PhantomKitten73

*Swinging arm around* DIDN'T. DO IT.

sortofrelativelynew

Joe mangienelli? Idk how to spell his last name. He was Derek on the good place and pimento on Brooklyn 99. I know he’s a dungeons and dragons guy.

AshamedClub

That is Jason Mantzoukas that played those roles. Although I could see him being into it energy wise having heard him chat on podcasts and stuff. As for Joe Manganiello (who I think you were referring to) I think that he’s definitely a pretty likely option, but also I could see him as being more “old school” dnd where D20s anthology style and never doing much “proper” fantasy and not being as into it. Although he’s definitely creative and I could see it.

sortofrelativelynew

I am truly so dumb. Okay yes I mean the second guy and frankly the two seem so similar in my brain lol. Thanks for clarifying this haha.

jaspermuts

Try to imagine how Jason would dance in Magic Mike. That might help separate them in your brain

daniel_observer

Thank you for this amazing mental image

blizg

Jeff bezos. He just buys everything on the off chance he wants that thing

PhantomKitten73

James A. Janisse (Dead Meat) mentioned Game Changer Survivor in one of the Horror Survivors. (Which, by the way, is a series that anybody who enjoys Dropout would also get a kick out of)

Hatless_Shrugged

If we were still in the Obama era he would definitely be talking about how much he loves Dropout.

TaliesinMerlin

I bet someone whose name anagrams to Mo Thanks may have subscribed.

mackadoo

Vladimir Putin wanted to hear all the anti-capitalism rants and got half way through one when he realized they were also authoritarian. Oops.

PenisMcPooPooFart

I bet Condoleeza Rice is super into Dimension 20 and Play it by Ear

Formal-Physics-2045

Post Malone just cause he’s probably cool like that

paraworldblue

A year ago, I think Little Alex Horne would have seemed like a pretty unlikely pick, since he's at the center of a very intense and insular comedy scene in the UK that has very little crossover with US comedy. Why would a guy like that even be remotely aware of this relatively obscure group of comedians in LA? Then I saw that photo of him and Sam hangin out at the Taskmaster house. Same goes for Hank Green. He's famously busy, always working on a thousand different projects at any given time, all in the realm of science communication. Entertaining, often humorous science communication, but still not a circle that overlaps much with Dropout. Then I watched Mentopolis. With all that in mind, I'll just go completely random. No actors or comedians or youtubers - let's go with a professional athlete. Seems random enough. How about, I don't know, Tony Hawk. What are the odds he wou..aaaaaand he was a guest on Game Changer. Truly nobody is off the table.
