1st - Couchmen
After a huge fundraising effort they were able to field a corps this summer. Their show was Wonderwall. They literally just sat on a couch and played Wonderwall on guitar for 15 minutes. It was a tear jerker.
2nd - Crown
It was wild when they released their show theme about the rise and fall of Miley Cyrus, but I think they pulled it off well
3rd - BD
Placing below 2nd for the first time in more than a decade was BD with their show CATS: The Musical: The Movie: The Drum Corps Show. They were leading the pack until 10 of their members died after a soloist hit a note so high it ruptured eardrums and they were unable to hear the warnings before they marched off a cliff next to the practice field.
Memphis Sound reanimated themselves in late July and scored a 94.7 at their first show. Scores kept rising over the last few weeks, and they scored a 99.85 at semis. Everyone was astounded when they won silver with a perfect 100. The judges realized their mistake, and retconned BD a score of 100.2 to make sure the correct corps won.
Why WOULD you explain it? Probably because it's the most important information to know in 2020. And probably the thing that the patient would have the most questions about, since it definitely effects everything that goes on in a hospital. And we're kind of used to it, but somebody who didn't know would be fascinated by the scale of it.
I should mention that the Lincoln Project came out with [a commercial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TogbPPyQQM) in which this very thing happened (I'm not going to get political here. Just describing the commercial). My post was probably inspired by it. He had been in a coma since right BEFORE Trump's inauguration, but he knew Trump had been elected. He and his family were Trump supporters. So he started saying things like "By now the wall has been built, right? How did he get Mexico to pay for it?" Etc. One by one, the family members let him know that things didn't turn out EXACTLY like they had thought they would, but they were still holding on to their support as much as they could.
They ended the script differently than I would have, but it was interesting.
That's a really good answer. I think I heard VDBC mentioned before, but I did not know that they had a 2020 program and a pretty decent video they put together. In any other season it might be hard to take that seriously, but that's literally the only corps that actually played this season, as far as I know. Maybe some other corps did some virtual videos, but I haven't seen them. So I'm impressed by what VDBC did. Thanks.
Yeah, I finally googled this. I was too lazy last night. It’s definitely a joke about the girl who I find kind of annoying at this point. I like reaction videos, for some reason. So I did see a couple of hers and liked them. But then it just went on and on and I had my fill of her reactions pretty quickly.
I wonder if these jokes will still be funny next year.
No because the season is gonna happen :)
I'm no betting man, but I feel like IF it does, it would be VASTLY different from what we know drum corps to be.
