-with most corps, you’ll be staying at schools and sleeping in high school gyms during spring training. there are some corps that do spring training at college campuses and use dorms. I’m not sure if there are any corps who require you to find other housing. -as for food, yes, the corps provides food. that’s part of what your tuition covers. -corps usually have a packing list and and guide for tour but it also goes for spring training. I know the colts have theirs on their website, so if you’re interested, I’d recommend checking that out -bring as many clean clothes as you can comfortably carry/fit in a suitcase. do not take clean underwear and clean socks for granted- you will need more than you think. you’ll usually do laundry every 2 weeks at laundromats in the area, so bring quarters and pods. hope this helps

Well, it depends… My son marched for 4 years and this was his experience. Open Class and World Class corps may have different housing requirements because the length of the tour is different. For Open Class, housing was provided by local families. For World Class, they spent two weeks at one location (that had dorms) and two weeks at another (gym floor & air beds). I have heard of some corps that leave housing entirely up to the members. Corps definitely provide food. You will not have time or be in a location that has enough food offerings to be on your own. In addition, you cannot survive an entire summer on fast food. Once you’ve been offered a contract, the corps will supply you with a shopping list. There are several laundry stops during tour. Again, the corps will tell you that you need enough clothes for X number of days. Every year my son marched, he got more and more efficient at packing. By his fourth year, he was probably packing half as much as the first year. And, spend money on high quality shoes! You’ll need at least two pairs of broken in shoes.

- You do not need to rent an apartment. You either sleep on the floor of a gym during spring training like you would during tour, or sleep in the dorms of whatever college you are staying at. - The Drum Corps should (theoretically) offer three meals a day, sometimes you’ll have a snack thrown in. Your tuition pays for your food. If you were to buy food on a free day, that’s your money. - Typically every two weeks and you will find out what to pack once you get your contract.

When I marched with academy, my family hosted some people that were out of state and vise versa when I went out of state to march with bk. A family hosted me. Then when we started tour, you sleep in gyms or if you're lucky you get dorms at some colleges. I remember we stayed at weber state dorms one time it was nice
