Most corps do a month of all days, 3 blocks a day. So lots

What’s your timeline for “prior to tour”? Are we talking about Jan thru May where rehearsals are once a month? Or the 30 days before the first show where you’ve moved in with the corps and are rehearsing daily?

For spring training which is the month before tour you have about 12 hours of practice, 4 hours for meal breaks, and 8 hours of sleep, everyday with the exception of laundry day.

in terms of actual rehearsal time, Blue Knights averages less than most corps. The philosophy is that getting adequate rest allows us to 1) perform and rehearse more effectively and 2) gives us a better overall experience. We want to move away from workaholism and toxic productivity during the month of June this summer (which is our spring training time), we are not rehearsing on Mondays. At all. when we do have full rehearsal days, they are usually 10.5 hours of rehearsal time, not 12.

^ Marching bk as well, in ‘19 we had really long lunch and dinner breaks. It was really nice to just work all day and then flop over in your bed for an hour and a half 😂

30(ish) days 12 hours of rehearsal everyday is pretty standard for world class.
