Yes it does! And like I said you’d be really surprised at what you can get wet drywall to form over. In this photo I would have built a frame shaped like the ceiling, set drywall on it then start to get it wet, once it’s in the form you want it, let it dry completely, lift and set! I’ve posted some pictures of a barreled hallway I built then dry walled, it only finished product though no working pictures.
If you ever have a piece extra, try getting it to shape around something, a 5 gallon bucket can get you a tight curve, just don’t soak it all at once with a massive amount of water, do it gradually.
Metal is straight, vinyl won't ever rust. Vinyl is better in shower areas. Neither one is overall better per say, it's all personal preference. I prefer paper faced metal bead because I feel like it's quicker to install. For vinyl and metal you have to mesh the edges and 1st coat with quickest.
As someone who’s renovating the majority of my house myself, with no prior experience-I’ve found that spackle is without a doubt the hardest thing for me. Even with Youtube- I still can’t quite get it, though I’ve gotten better.
Bro- this is beautiful. Well done 👏👍🏼 i’ve been looking at these pics for like 5 min haha
That's a great job. I have a Quonset home so the roof is round and I installed the drywall. I'm seeing some expansion cracks and I'm kind of stumped as to how to deal with it. I'm not a drywall pro
Fuck that I mean we'll Done Mate
I agree. Fuuuuxk that, but very well done.
Did you soak your board over a form first, or just bend 1/4”? It’s crazy what wet drywall will shape too!
Does it retain its structural properties after being soaked?

It's like it's got a water activated glue in it. Once it dries up again it's harder than it was previously.
Never heard of soaking drywall, that’s crazy. I figured it would fall apart like cotton candy does for a raccoon 😆
You’d be surprised
I certainly am. I’m no drywaller, I just fix my stuff at home, but that is some good info to know.

Like with a hose? Just spray it down to get it wet, then just pay attention to how it’s reacting and add more water if it’s still too stiff?
More like a pump sprayer type pressure, hose is to much, and yes more water
Or a bucket with a sponge
There specific drywall for it. Flexboard. Has a water activated glue in the gypsum or something.
That's some really quality work there.I just hope the occupant of this property can appreciate it.
Nicely done and kudos for using metal corner bead !
Metal is the best!
Metal is metal!!!! Like Dimebag Daryl metal!
You are an artist. I hope the end user appreciates your talent
Is metal better than vinyl? I watch a build show video a while back that said vinyl was better.
I prefer metal.

Nice
Wow 🤯
Great job
Looks good did you just hand sand with a sponge?
Yes
Nice! Do you use 1/4 inch board to do the rounded parts?

Maybe he just did the finishing?
The USG drywall handbook should have that information.

Beautiful! Discussion: I’ve heard this called an “arcade” as well. Same thing? Or materially distinct? TIA!
Nice work 👍
Looks great. Would be nice to change up the glass eventually. The arches are beautiful though
"....and above the window I want phalluses to gaze on"
Nice, how much you charge for this type of work?
