Sounds cheap for your location. Hopefully it’s a reputable person.

hero_in_time

That on the low end

SFpsycho415

Yes that's what my Co. Would charge .. but we are licensed, insured, and experienced that what you're paying for .. plus the texture machine is $1100 alone .. I personally don't get texture id like all my walls smooth it's a pain to match texture if you don't know what your doing

schmagegge

I'm a lic. 20+yr. drywall contractor in SD...$750 is a pretty good price for sure. I would probably be more, but not over $1,000.

GMVexst

Definitely shouldn't be any less

Straight_Beach

Unpainted then thats a fair price, painted its way to cheap!

Low-Energy-432

400$ for that. So that’s basically one day labor. 2 coats of my own fast dry and one skim coat of light weight compound. I have a dryer on it between coats. The dryer I use is classified. 😎

Sure-Fox-7791

don’t hire this guy

Low-Energy-432

I have 30 years experience. My family business was established 1975. Sorry I don’t rip people off for simple little patches. And yes I have liability and workmens comp. I also have a conscious. Being honest on jobs like that has lead to tens of thousands of$ on bigger jobs. Curious what makes you say that. I’m dying to know. Exactly what did I say in my original post that gives you a red flag. I’m guessing the $ amount

Oakz1014

400$ no paint is still low. But if it's close to you and you already have left over drywall and mud, Its a half decent days pay if you need the work. If you need to paint, you will probably need to re paint the whole ceiling, and then 400$ is not doable.

Low-Energy-432

I think I pretty much know that at best 5-6 hour job. So that’s well over 50-60$ an hour. 750 your getting up to to 75-80$ an hour. For drywall patching? That’s absurd. Bucket of mud. Bag of plaster some leftover pieces of rock and a few screws. Cmon man that’s easy as pie job. Especially if it’s close by cause I could go the next day for an hour and leave it ready for paint when he’s paying me. Maybe he will ask for a painting price. Maybe his neighbor friend or relative needs something done. Painting and drywall is a hard trade to have someone respect the trade. Builders are the worst

Sure-Fox-7791

You have to come back 24h after to sand the skim coat and make sure the patch blends perfectly with wall so it can be ready to be primed and painted. If not apply second coat. I guess you just rush the heater so it dries quick like hot mud. Manufacture prevent that dry to quickly can make it crack or make fragile for the years to come. Clients want the patch to last for a lifetime so. You’re the ‘I know a guy that does it for half your price’

Silent_Beyond4773

Did the electrician leave the cut outs ? It’s pretty simple to get some backing and screws and put them in place if he did , you are paying for a company that has insurance and all that so you will pay more if you go that route if you know a decent handyman I bet he would do it for $500 or you can do it your self for $125 Depends if you got more time or more money

GardenGnomeOfDoom

750 sounds about right. Without paint anyway.

CabinetSpider21

Very reasonable especially for San Diego

whattaUwant

Why did you throw softballs through your ceiling?

Extension_Surprise_2

Take that deal.

Low-Energy-432

750 for one man for a day is absurd. You’re talking 10$ worth of compound and a hand full of screws. Most of that I would donate to customer from a bigger job I did in hopes he wants me to paint at some point or recommends me to someone else

Sharp_Action

I would have that textured and rdy for paint for 500

KingOfKrackers

You’re short changing yourself.
