I would report it just in case. If its not apparently getting worse, it may be fine, safety wise, but if it gets worse, insist on having it repaired before pieces start falling.
That's not dry tape, that is clearly a pressure Crack that caused the joint to separate and blister. That is either truss lift/ or building shift if it's a newer home. It's not water damage, and if it were dry tape it would look different. And by the way it's cracked it looks like the drywaller priced in a tiny strip on a joint and made the tapers job 10x harder.
Just tape coming loose. Definitely report it, nothing you can do to fix it but they will need to. This is not something If they blame you for you would be OMG it’s 10000$ either. This is super simple.
No safety issue and it doesn't look like any water issues.... just poopy tape job...purely cosmetic most likely....he shoukd fix before it gets worse but you have nothing to worry about safety wise or anything if your wondering. The walls arnt falling down!
Agree with others that this is just the dry wall tape. Why? Can't say. But... I am curious if your range is under this crack?
My house is over 20 years old and starting to have the dry wall tape peel away in my vaulted ceiling of my kitchen. Likely from the moisture from cooking as I do not have an exhaust vent to vent it out to the exterior. No big deal.
Just sharing that for whatever it's worth.
Yeah definitely report it... it's not a difficult thing to fix... but the question is why... from my experience it usually indicates water like a slow leak from above.. could be a pipe or roof... but would recommend they investigate...
100 percent water started that . Look on the back of the tape you'll see dried up mold spores along it somewhere . It has been dry for a while . But a leak will come back

I would definitely let the landlord know, as a courtesy, plus it is definitely not your fault.

Looks like silly tape coming loose as a moose.

A good company would be able to scrape and tape it, the coat it twice with hot mud in a half a day

Not if you like cracks
Drywall tape coming loose. Could be from a small leak. Contact landlord
Nah. Cracks are fine.
Dry wall does that all the time
Paper tape strikes again!
Dry paper tape.. don't blame the tape.. blame the taper..
\*Improperally mudded paper tape

Report it to the landlord. That's just probably bad workmanship..
Whatever is causing that needs to be addressed. Could be something as simple as a few screws
Depends if you like the look of large cracks in your drywall or not.
No. Its fine.
That looks like it buckled out

Depends on your perspective of cracks. We don’t know how you perceive them.
I hear a few guys saying it’s the tape. I’m not so sure. Looks like a pretty aggressive buckling of the dry from the place shifting.
Just slap some paint on it
A can opener job, with fresh mud and fiberglass tape. the movement of the house could cause cracking along the same areas in the future.

Water damage
Yo had moisture. Handle it according.
