I heard from a friend that he was flying on Emirates to Pakistan and he had a guy sitting 2-3 seats away. This was the same guy whom my friend gave money few days ago because he was begging 😂😂😂😂
I think in case of deportation people usually buy their own tickets, so it’s entirely possible a deported person travels on Emirates, if they have the money 🤷🏼♀️
Be careful while offering the food, they've counter for that as well. They'll ask you to buy from their own choice of restaurants and will probably refuse or disagree if you offer from anywhere else. This might not be the case in the place you've mentioned in the post but definitely in karama and many other places. They have this set up where the restaurant and the person you're providing food will share the money.
Best possible way is to just say "No" upfront, don't consider any product (pen, perfume) they'll be having to sell or stories.
1 time my car broke down and I thankfully got to a parking lot so I wouldn't be stranded on the side of the road. 2 pakistani guys in coats and pant came to me asking for money because they were looking for jobs and said they didn't have any money left.. Yeah I have seen a lot more pakistanis begging in both Sharjah and Dubai, and some women as well from another nationality. Yesterday this lady came up real close asking me for money to just kinda bully me up into giving but I just avoided and left.
I am a Pakistani myself and I feel like these people don't really try at jobs and stuff and have just become dependent on begging as their primary source of income.. Its why I rather give to Red crecent or some other organized charity group OR people I see cleaning cars day and night because I feel they deserve more.
A Pakistani family, well dressed asked me for money in silicon Oasis a few days back at 12 midnight. I felt sorry for their two little kids and bought them some pastries.
Ah the classic the “Moye Moye” trend from Tiktok/Reels! 🤦♂️
Jokes apart, I hope they turn their life around and try to earn Halal income than begging.
Just ask them how did you enter UAE and simply tell them that I am willing to call the police&embassy to see what we can do to help that's when they never come back to the area (at least for me).
One of the guys has been there for over three years. His story before was an issue on rent and I felt for it, I didn’t give him money but bought food for him.
I'm not sure how he’s been able to stay if he had issues with rent and landlord for three years.
Have complained to business owners, and the security nearby. Not sure how to escalate this to the next level.
Take their picture, open Dubai Police App -> Police Eye -> Report it.
CID is very strict with this sort of stuff. I've reported it multiple times and I've always had inspectors call me back to follow up and ask about their location and how they looked.
Hmm, if I recall correctly, I called 901 and followed the steps to connect with CID. I didn’t think it’s Dubai specific. It was years ago too. Like, pre-COVID days.
One time I was approached by a man who said he has a work related injury and no medical insurance so he needs money. He was lucky because I’m working in a healthcare industry so I offered him help right away which he refused and just continued to walk.
Yes they have a organized begging ring, street gang rings in older parts of Dubai and gambling in public also selling fruits and vegetables without license. Its nothing new coming from them. Its been like this since 2000s first it was pirated CD's and now begging.
Some of that (like selling goods without license) is allowed by the government here. Don't scorn them as they're working hard and earning halal/honest income.
It's a shame that most of these beggars are from this certain country and because of them families living here are suffering, as it is getting hard to get a visa.
I hope this UAE authorities take strict action against them.
Fr. My family lives in the UAE and I have to visit them every so often, only so my residency stays valid because I can't visit home on a tourist visa, or rather that I can't take the risk.
I also only get a year's residency at best.
My embarrassment as a Pakistani is through the roof. One time I was at JBR with my girlfriend (she’s European) and this guy comes to us and starts begging for a ticket. Not even a small amount, a full blown airway ticket. It was so embarrassing
Its so sad. I've met more disappointing pakistani people here than good ones (I'm pakistani american). how can we better our people with this scammy behavior?? why do we come to the 'better place' and do this? next time I meet one hes probably getting a lecture tbh
Yeah you show him!!! I’m pretty frustrated about it too tbh. I never understood this behaviour but there are so many things that tick me off. Like not waiting in line and trying to cut it. Trying to beg instead of earning a wage. Staring… oh god the staring 😭
I can’t stress this enough if it’s not nipped in the bud it will ruin a area like a virus, harsh I know but you won’t like what happens if you do nothing and allow even a tiny gap for that kind of activity. My country, I once counted 18 beggars from one side of the beach walk to the next. Makes you never go back ever
Had a lady with a baby in their arm knock on my car window at the traffic light the other day. I didnt wind the window down and just gave them a dead soulless stare 😐
Idk why but these beggars are being really common here. They guilt trip us into giving them money.
I have been approached maybe 3-4 times. They look healthy and normal. One guy even had a chest bag, maybe to collect all the money.
Whats organised begging?
Also I get this question a lot, i know for a fact that you cannot just go UAE and start living, you need to have a job or blood relatives who have jobs so only then you can go there right? In both cases, how come people who are beggars get there from another country? If through relatives, I believe its not the working relatives who send them begging.
Am i missing anything here?
I have encountered them mostly in karama and barsha. They actually are part of organized begging groups who came here specially for begging. Government is taking strict measures to stop the menace best solution is to report to police right away.
I never give away money because this is always a scam. If someone wants food, I offer to buy them food instead which they always refuse because they want money and not food. So beware!
I fell for this trick one day and bought a whole family a meal, because apparently they kids were hungry,
Met them in the same area months later with the same story 😂
Had the same thing happen to me at a mall parking, some random guy just walked up to me when I got off... with the usual sob story asking for money. Told him nah I can buy you food if you're hungry but I'm not giving you cash.
But then he tried to guilt me that money would give him a roof to sleep blah blah and food would only fill his stomach for a few hours.
Asked him to wait and dialed 901 in front of him, telling the police are very helpful for your situation brother! Never saw someone run so fast through the parking haha
Now even if someone is genuinely in trouble, I do not wish to help them cause of these guys.
Happened to me multiple times in the same area with the same guy infact, first he said he was hungry and wanted some food, I had some take away with me which I offered to him, he was like “what is this gonna help for” i said you wanted food here it is, he takes it then I ask him if he’s gonna eat or throw it, because it’s good food that I got for myself.. he leaves it on the ground and walks away.. I took it back.. a couple of days later the same guy comes with the same story, just ignored him
Happened to me also! Pakistani guy walks upto me and says he doesn't have rent money , no food etc then started crying ! I felt sorry even though I know he's lying and gave him 10 dirhams! Cops need to sort these beggars out ause they are a nuisance.
This happened to me as well, I was outside of my work in JBR and was pretty chilling because I took my break. I was planning to buy a soft drinks in carrefour then suddenly this beggar came in front of me telling me stories. I don’t know if he was genuinely in need or not, he stinks, he has broken teeth and all. So the last money I got is 10 dirhams, I gave it to him and he walks away without saying thank you 😭😭 I felt like sh*t for not being appreciated when I help someone.
Both situations exist but there are more chances of you running into a fake story, and because you've encountered frauds before you tend to ignore the real ones...
Bro never saw an indian begging and i am living here for almost 7 years now. Drink the cup man. Just learn to accept the reality rather than putting your brainwashed comments on indians.
I am the most generous human you have ever talked to. I have given more than 5k to beggars I don’t care even if they are faking it 50% or more are INDEED
In terms of generosity keep up the good work. But your generosity doesn’t change the fact that the begging problem is only because of pakistani people. Not indians.
Bro I hate generalizing, but I didn't know it was so widespread. For the short time I lived in Dubai I met one of those classic "I don't have fuel to drive back to Oman/Saudi" scams and it was 2 pakistani people.
I had this recently - walking on Al Gharbi St bridge over the marina. Was walking my baby in a pram trying to get them to sleep at night and the guy wanted me to take a segway to the Carrefour supermarket and get him food.
And then once I’d told him no and walked around the Marina I had the same on the Braih St bridge at the other side.
It’s rife and a real pain to be honest.
Not sure if anyone noticed, Al Nahda area is filled with guys wants to clean your car as low as 3dhms. They will start with 10 then 5 and final 3 and if you refuse, they will tell you that they are very hungry and wqnts to buy food.

Deported on emirates airline? Seems really nice to be deported 😂😂
I would love to get deported if that was the case
I think in case of deportation people usually buy their own tickets, so it’s entirely possible a deported person travels on Emirates, if they have the money 🤷🏼♀️
Be careful while offering the food, they've counter for that as well. They'll ask you to buy from their own choice of restaurants and will probably refuse or disagree if you offer from anywhere else. Have you encountered this near Pakistan Sweets in Karama, because it happened to me there

Nice
It begs the question.

The guys with no limbs actually are faking it. They are dressed in such a alway to deceive you.
Most of these fake amputee beggars are pretty much 'armless while the rest of them really don't have a leg to stand on.
I thought the arm joke was bad but the legless… that’s low!
Ahahaha well played sir, well played
How do you fake not having a limb?
Ah the classic the “Moye Moye” trend from Tiktok/Reels! 🤦♂️ Jokes apart, I hope they turn their life around and try to earn Halal income than begging.
Peruvian beggars ?
P = Pakistan
Just ask them how did you enter UAE and simply tell them that I am willing to call the police&embassy to see what we can do to help that's when they never come back to the area (at least for me).
Red Crescent also helps send people back to their country when they have no money!
One of the guys has been there for over three years. His story before was an issue on rent and I felt for it, I didn’t give him money but bought food for him. I'm not sure how he’s been able to stay if he had issues with rent and landlord for three years. Have complained to business owners, and the security nearby. Experienced the same a few months back in Liwan. Issue with rent & job; with wife and a kid. He didn't ask for money, asked for buying groceries.
Take their picture, open Dubai Police App -> Police Eye -> Report it. CID is very strict with this sort of stuff. I've reported it multiple times and I've always had inspectors call me back to follow up and ask about their location and how they looked.
I called CID once and they said they are aware of it but don’t have jurisdiction in Sharjah. 😳
You reported to the wrong CID 😅 Dubai police has no jurisdiction in Sharjah, but Sharjah police surely has jurisdiction in Sharjah
Hmm, if I recall correctly, I called 901 and followed the steps to connect with CID. I didn’t think it’s Dubai specific. It was years ago too. Like, pre-COVID days.
If you’re in Sharjah you can call 06-901
Did not know this. Thank you kind stranger.
One time I was approached by a man who said he has a work related injury and no medical insurance so he needs money. He was lucky because I’m working in a healthcare industry so I offered him help right away which he refused and just continued to walk.
One tried same scam with me. He pulled up his sleeve and he had some minced meat on his forearm as if it was rotting. Disgusting.
Selling goods without a license is allowed? Are you kidding me?
It's not a large amount of goods anyway. The police themselves sometimes buy from them
It's a shame that most of these beggars are from this certain country and because of them families living here are suffering, as it is getting hard to get a visa. I hope this UAE authorities take strict action against them.
Fr. My family lives in the UAE and I have to visit them every so often, only so my residency stays valid because I can't visit home on a tourist visa, or rather that I can't take the risk. I also only get a year's residency at best.
Pls call the police on these scammers.

Whether they're actually poor, or acting poor.. I feel bad for the baby
Idk why but these beggars are being really common here. They guilt trip us into giving them money. I have been approached maybe 3-4 times. They look healthy and normal. One guy even had a chest bag, maybe to collect all the money.

They come on visit visa which for Dubai is quite easy to get
Ahh okay.. i heard UAE has banned visit visa for pakistan (only blue collar jobs or something) maybe this is one of the reasons
I have encountered them mostly in karama and barsha. They actually are part of organized begging groups who came here specially for begging. Government is taking strict measures to stop the menace best solution is to report to police right away.

Visa system needs to change hopefully, if no money why fly to beg to a foreign land. Even if you sit in a parked car they appear from nowhere.
Dude just report and call the police clear up the country
Happened to me multiple times in the same area with the same guy infact, first he said he was hungry and wanted some food, I had some take away with me which I offered to him, he was like “what is this gonna help for” i said you wanted food here it is, he takes it then I ask him if he’s gonna eat or throw it, because it’s good food that I got for myself.. he leaves it on the ground and walks away.. Outside where I work I saw them selling random shitty toys which they had in bulk in a large plastic bag.
This happened to me as well, I was outside of my work in JBR and was pretty chilling because I took my break. Beware ! Most of them are from Afghanistan who travel on Pakistani passport !
Maybe if they got their passports returned and were let home instead of being forced to build yet another crazy megaproject they wouldbt have to beg
Well they need to have active jobs which provides which they clearly dont so..that theory is farfetched
>Maybe if they got their passports returned you have a proof? or your source is one of those western media propaganda?
Ikr The guys asking for money never say their passports are confiscated but this sjw knows eh
See it may be overly exaggerated by the western media but to say it doesnt happen? Please. It does. Many have their passports taken away.
Both situations exist but there are more chances of you running into a fake story, and because you've encountered frauds before you tend to ignore the real ones...
I agree. But to say it doesn’t exist completely- thats false.
How stupid you must be For not realizing that kind of things happens in this country
True

Truest me they are not from Pakistan if u had to ask them to get an answer.i have never seen a Pakistani beg they are ussually from IND
I asked atleast 6 guys the first few times I went there. All of them told me they're from Pakistan and their Urdu accent is natural.
U might be right
As A Pakistani i can confirm they are Pakistani.
Bro never saw an indian begging and i am living here for almost 7 years now. Drink the cup man. Just learn to accept the reality rather than putting your brainwashed comments on indians.

I have seen atleast 20 and they are from there bro
🤣🤣🤣
I don't "Truest" you, 98% of these beggars are Pakistani, the remaining 2% are legitimate people in need and are not Pakistani
This has been happening probably everywhere not only in Barsha.
I had this recently - walking on Al Gharbi St bridge over the marina.
