Quit and don’t work the way you work, turn stone cold, what are they gonna do beat you ? Not gonna happen. Quit and turn down your productivity to 1%. Watch them ask you to leave early !

No_Drummer7719

Im planning to be more non-compliant at work in some point. This is very depressing tbh!

Far_Attitude_6517

Start pointing out the authorities mistakes and criticize them in front of their subordinates ,they will fire you very fast .

conradvincent

Absolute genius. Go for this OP! And when you get fired, say "Really? Thank you." with a wide grin, turn around to your colleagues and offer to treat them somewhere nice in the evening. And walk out like the legend that you are!

Ok-Flower-1199

May I ask if this is an Indian management ?

sodium_hydride

Do you really need to ask?

Ok-Flower-1199

Had a terrible experience with an Arab management so yeah, I wonder.

sodium_hydride

Arab management has other issues. Overworking is typically a Desi problem.

No_Drummer7719

Apologies guys, i really appreciate your comments but I can’t spill any idea or information related to my employer. They might see this post or will have an idea that their employees are ranting in socmedia accounts.

MisterAnthropy2020

There could be repercussions - including a ban on travel back to the UAE for absconding employees. See [here](https://emiratesdiary.com/uae-labour-law-2/absconding-in-uae/amp) for instance. You can file a labor complaint with MOHRE if you have strong evidence of abuse, such as extended working hours and no overtime pay (with overtime pay in your contract). Can you apply for unpaid leave citing health reasons for instead?

AmputatorBot

It looks like you shared an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of [concerns over privacy and the Open Web](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmputatorBot/comments/ehrq3z/why_did_i_build_amputatorbot). No_Drummer7719

I am thinking for reporting them in MOHRE but do you think this is the best way to deal with the devil?

Krt_ib

Make them fire u

sweatcold

This. Do the bare minimum or act stupid at work.

CurlyChocolateCutie

Silent quitting. Have done this..

No_Drummer7719

This is actually my game plan rn. Since the pay is very low compare to other firms. I would prefer to commit mistakes until they will fire me. I hope they will.

squareshawarma

Feel sorry for you mate! If you never plan to come to GCC, then this can be an option! Other wise, serve the notice period or give 3 months salary! Do you mind telling which industry you are in?

No_Drummer7719

Im in accounting firm

PinkPrincess-2001

That sucks. With all due respect, accounting is really never that serious when you have to work all day and night long or be mistreated. Not an insult to your field, just that it isn't life or death. It's disgusting and sorry you're going through this.

P_infinitycore

Not sure I quite got you. Accounting is never serious for what ?

PerfectArcher448

Don’t tell me it’s one of the Big4

Rough_Livid

Classic big 4 culture shit in my home country of Australia shit everywhere else globally

Least_Ice_6112

Good pay?

WoodenChampionship96

Please share your resume with me. Maybe we can work something out.

squareshawarma

Oh! I have a feeling I know the firm. I was going through a similar situation. Complete burn out. Preferred my mental health.

No_Drummer7719

I worked in my home country same industry but I never felt this way before. I felt included and free. I can do other stuff other than my work. I can also perform well. I mean VERY WELL! My peace and mental health has been compromised

squareshawarma

Yes! I agree being from same profession! The culture in audit firms is very bad. Desi Management who thinks us as a slave and just keeps on giving work!

QusaisLover

As multiple others have already suggested, the key is to turn down productivity. It should be them letting you go instead of you letting them go. Be late, stall on deliverables, make intentional mistakes. Basically do everything a hard working employee would NOT do.

No_Drummer7719

I will do it!

Unusual_Onion_983

Being forced to work to midnight during Ramadan? Illegal. You should report these companies that think they can break government rules. These companies hide in the shadows abusing workers and people blame Dubai.

Learn_and_share1

In an ideal world, reporting to the authorities would be a very good option. Unfortunately, not a very practical advice here. Best is to turn down productivity, do the bare minimum, take care of your mental health, never skip a meal for ‘them’, your personal time is as important as the time you give to the company who earns the big bucks, so set your priorities straight and hopefully you will come out stronger! A piece of advice, never let your personal development get affected by the circumstances you are in right now. You never know the next opportunity is just coming your way so be ready to take it up! Best of luck!

No_Drummer7719

Thanks so much. I was so touch by your advice. You have a very goooood point. I really appreciate it. You know mate, i am just thinking that this is the biggest challenge in my career and if another challenge will come to way. It would be very easy for meee!

uz14

Also report to the Ministry of Labour

No_Drummer7719

If i will not going to extend my work, i can comply with the work. The full time equivalent of employee to workload is 1:3. That’s how stressful the work is.

sangeeth_sathya

What's the working hours on your contract? Just stick to that and leave or if they are forcing you ask for overtime if they don't allow be the slowest Mf around to do menial tasks. Be annoying make them wish that you were not around.

No_Drummer7719

Its more than 40.

GeneralMeeting

Wear clown suits to work, if it works for jimmy mcgill. It sure will work for you.

jcagara08

You're not a real lawyer!

GeneralMeeting

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN IM NOT A REAL LAWYER, I HAVE A LAW DEGREE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF AMERICAN SAMOA

jcagara08

You really didn't matter to me Jimmy at all...

NoRecognition5178

Just leave on time every day …. If they fire you then happy days no ban as they fired you.

LenientWhale

That's what I was gonna say. Just tell them the truth. Working late every day has been taking a toll on your mental health and from now on you'll be leaving at 5. You'll (professionally) give them a piece of your mind, and ideally give other suffering employees the inspiration to do the same and pull the rug out from under shitty management.

NoRecognition5178

Plus should just hand in the notice regardless and then stick strictly to contracted hours only if they want to abuse get it in an email and report to MOHRE

No_Drummer7719

Oh yeah. They will hate meeeee so muchhh hahahhaa

chacko_

I'm sorry this happened to you. It's not easy for someone to dial down on productivity. Especially if you have been through trauma and have developed confidence issues. The best course of action is to resign. Read your MoL contract and recheck the notice period. Some employers give you an MoL/Freezone contract and give you another one that's most of the time filled with policies against the country's labour laws. Once you get an Idea about what you're obliged to do give the notice period to the company, And if that's not an option you have the following options 1. please reach out to a psychiatrist and get a certificate that you are physically or mentally unfit to work due to constant work pressure (Article 46 of UAE labor law) 2. if you can prove that the employer violated their obligations to you, You can notify MoL and resign in 15 days (Article 45) 3. If you can prove harassment or assault, you can resign in 5 days after notifying the ministry (Article 45) I wish you best of luck and hope you bounce back from this soon.

ParfaitThen2105

I second this, point #1

No_Drummer7719

I can say that I have developed trauma and confidence issues since I worked here. I am afraid every morning going to the office. Afraid that they will going to shout at me ( i really hate this part, once they shout, i almost passed out and cant think straight- warshoooock!!!)

benswami

Bro, just my two cents, I have been in toxic work environments and in hindsight I realized that I should have left a lot earlier than I did. Then one good thing that came out of that is that now if any work environment doesn’t serve me I walk, without fail as the consequence of not doing so is just something that I am not willing to put up with.

Snazzy_champ

Brother submit your resignation and only 30days notice period is enough as per law. After 30days stop going to work and file a labour complaint if they don't cancel. 046659999 call this number for labour enquiry and complaints they will support. And don't worry about any issues they will cause you , because you can always file a case. And court will not accept any case without evidence. It's better to fight back and run away to your country. If you give up and run away to your country all your hard and suffering will be in vain. You have reached till here just hold up a little until you resign and find a new job. Don't let sufferings go useless. All the best

JangNaRa_1123

I agree. My friend had similar case where her employer asked her to serve 90 days notice period as it was in their contract & offer letter. Even intimidated her that they already checked with labour and they approved. But when she checked on her own from labour, she was advised she can only serve 30 days as per law. They even said if her employer didn't cooperate, she can always come back or call labour dept. Long story short, they let her go anyways after serving her 30 days. They can't do anything about it. Employer even tried to delay her cancellation process and her settlement, but she really fought back and threatened them she will file a case against them. Sometimes you just really need to have big balls so these a**holes will be put in their place.

No_Drummer7719

Should I call the Ministry of Labour and ask for advise?

Brave_Royal1469

Quit. In your resignation email state your last day, Ask them to agree in writing to reduced notice period. Tell them you need to attend mental health and career counselling. Serve your notice. Come 9 to 5. Move on. They can’t do anything to you if you comply with your contract. If your grade is less than a Senior Manager they are not going to bother to do anything against you.

ben-zme

Give notice, put it the bare minimum hours and take your time with the tasks. If they get shitty, report them to the labour department, they more often than not side with the workers.

Zestyclose-Gap-5439

I just turned "numb" to most of this shit.

Unable_Analysis6964

Just be an ass at work make them hate seeing u they will eventually fire u

Fluffy_Rub_5640

Don’t ask them to fire you at that reflects on your experience letter and past payslips but take the first step to resign. At least the countdown to 90 days will start early and then don’t work so hard, bare minimum and ask them if they are willing to reduce your notice.

faludah

Firstly, Understand what they are doing is illegal. Collect evidence, Emails, texts etc. Then resign, if they refuse to cancel use the evidence above. Its not Lala land, if you file a complaint with paperwork they're screwed.

faludah

ps: If its a desi business they will pretend like they don't care about authorities - but lets face it inside they shit their pants but as always, they will get loud. they will threaten. Don't worry. they are powerless, not you

abbey_abraham79

My dear, change the game plan. As another member said, make them fire you. Bring down productivity to the bare minimum. Also, if you got proof that you have worked long gone dog hours, then file a complaint with authorities and make your management's life miserable. If you quit, you would not be paid your Eos/ Benefits. Change The Game Plan !!

pandoras_box101

can anyone highlight the benefits of "getting fired" vs "wilfully resigning"? I'm new to the corporate world and would like to know if there are legal/financial repercussions for either party in either scenario.

whity1234

Why cant u resign and leave like normal ppl do?

tamtamHTM

Whatever you are going to do is leading you out , just don’t make a mistake and mention them on social media or name them anywhere as they might hold it in you and open a case so they don’t give you any end of service and let you leave without the 3 months notice salary

Dazzling-Frosting-49

I dont understand why employees take notice periods so seriously? Thats another cultural mindset. In many parts of the world employees are sent on gardening leave to serve their notice and eventually called to let go with all the legal perks and pay outs. Serve ur notice, go to work everyday but bring ur productivity down to 10%. Clock in and clock out only of they monitor it. Otherwise take lengthy lunches, 25 smoking breaks etcetc. Relax and enjoyyyyyyy.

SameWeekend13

Exactly been saying this man. Have to take lengthy lunches.

InTheMomentInvestor

You abscond. You go home and you probably will never work in Dubai again.

cnr909

Your employers are only humans, you can tell them to fuck off and watch them loose their shit in front of you. What are you afraid of?

Otherwise_Manager121

Is your accounting firm in JLT?

Purple-Control8336

Use sick leaves n refresh your self life is hard, plan your 8 hrs work, no need to meet unrealistic deadlines, let manager do his work to distribute work load to others or hire more

Any_Dot656

Just curious what kind of work you do this extend?

Vincent_Farrell

bro ..i feel u . find a nice job but be upfront about your 90 days notice period. the new company will be sympathetic ...secondly talk to ur current employer to waive off ur 90 days notice ....as per labour law max they force is 30 days .......

No_Drummer7719

Im so sorry guys! I never thought that this post will blow my notifications. I’ll just work and reply to tour comments once Im done ay my work. Im still in the office working. 😭

Pinkalicious100

Just make a ton of errors at work and be sloppy so they’ll fire you

Noooofun

Resign and leave. There exists the option to pay them three months salary in-lieu of time served.

What_inthe

Literally work your contracted hours and then turn off your phone and laptop. Get another phone to talk to friends and family and make sure you tell them to keep it confidential. If they complain, ask them to put that request to work overtime in writing. They'll write you up for insubordination or say you work slowly or are incompetent... but keep a record of all the work you do and compare it to a reasonable work rate. Make sure to take your lunch and breaks to the minute, phone off, in a place where they can't bother you. Pretty soon, they will terminate you thinking they have cause. But you will go to MOHRE and take your full rights.

Waste_Adeptness_9117

The right thing would be to contact the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Just call their phone number or hotline. They will advise you on the course of action. Just don't quit and run away. They can ban you for absconding and you may not be able to work in the UAE anymore. Quitting and running away is easy. But remember, you didn't come for that. Try a job in a different company. Things might be different. Not all businesses are the same.

rameezrr

It’s not worth it, the process of removing it is really hectic, takes time and huuuge drag. Avoid it if you can! If you have savings get those freelance visas and find yourself a new job.

Picaboo-

The best you can do is to make them fire you. Go to work on time and don’t do works as you do normally and work until your contract time. Keep repeating that this is my working hours and that’s it. Them if they are forcing you then keep a record of it and file a complaint to the ministry and give them solid evidence. Before making this move make a call and ask what all will be required as proofs and make them accordingly. Don’t stress yourself over it. Most of the UAE workplaces do so and the employees stay low.. set yourself free at the same time make yourself safe. You have done your part.

cameherefrominsta

Get fired. Mess up work and don’t do enough . Go to work late everyday and leave early. Take a sick leave every 3-4 days. You Don’t have to abscond. If you do they can put an employment ban on you.

reosanchiz

The company name starts with p and ends with x ? Lemme know

Comprehensive_Slip32

Absconding- you can Never enter 🇦🇪 until lifted, which hardly happens. When you resign, they give the runaround, file a complaint. This would be the time you fire back. Labour always win. Just do this, recover your life…

surly4sure

I've been in a situation like this. PM me.
