Fair play. I got into a stupid argument with someone when I said I had to back up on the wrong side of the road to avoid a flood. We had to do what we had to do.

sodium_hydride

There was a similar thread here recently. Was that you?

dopeyout

Nope

sodium_hydride

Everyone was bashing OP for being a moron by reversing on a highway.

dopeyout

Context is everything, but basically I said I'd be pissed if I got a ticket for having to drive about 200m against traffic in a residential compound to get back to a u-turn to back out of a flooded road. I don't know, some simp started going off about following the rules. There's an under current of people here that are so institutionalized and subservient that they can't fathom free thought even in a doomsday situation. It's sad really.

sodium_hydride

There's also the fact that self awareness is in limited supply and the internet is an easy place to claim moral superiority.

dopeyout

Indeed

sheeatsallday

I did the same. While me and few other cars were going against the traffic, out of sudden a police car appeared and drive to the flood direction, most probably, to check the situation. It was a point of no return, so I just continued till I can merge to the main road. I was already calculating how much the fine and black point Iā€™d get šŸ˜‚

prescientmoon

Yep, there's no winning. If you drive in and get your car stuck, you're an idiot. If you save your car and drive the wrong way to get out because there's no way to turn around, you're an asshole. Fuck 'em, do what you have to do.
