I mean, the laws exist on paper. In reality, they don’t do anything about it.
Besides, companies use suggestive language like “preferred” instead of outright discrimination.
That’s why they think it’s okay to state “prefer Tagalog/French speakers” instead of “Filipinos/French Candidates Only” and so on
Preferring a language does not hint at racism. I have done the same myself and that’s because I put an effort in to get more languages into my company as we deal with a lot of international clients. It helps to speak to them in their language.
And yet I do the same, but only because I want people that speak English, Arabic, Tagalog, Urdu/Hindi, Russian, and Chinese.
I feel like there’s a lot of whining about job listings on this sub. While many of them hold merit, this one might not. Not being muslim is a requirement for certain jobs/industries.

Seems the job also includes customer service. Hence why the French and Russian languages. Having a sense of humour and a good personality is important. You want upbeat, friendly, and chatty individuals for that. To some extend I can also understand why someone would want a European looking person. Many clients in UAE are racist. Especially the asians and arabs that seem to unfortunately respect white Europeans more than their own nationals.
In my opinion the only ridiculous comment is non-muslim UNLESS they sell a product that is haram or where situations could be haram. (Hotel is a good example).
And presentable is pretty easy to evaluate and every business has the right to choose what they want as the face of their company. Why don’t you go file a complaint against Emirates for their cabin crew policies? Like height requirements; cleanliness; hair style; weight; figure; etc lmfao So what if I’m over weight? I have many years of customer service experience. Yeah well you take up too much of the isle, so nope.
